That model has been discontinued so we needed to act quickly! I was able to find two in the state (there may have been more?), one of them was here at South Sound Honda. I had cash (bank issued check) so the transaction was quick and painless. I'll bet we were there an hour at the most, minus the time we took loading my bike up in the trailer. They had the bike right by the front door with a battery tender hooked up to it with a full tank of what I think may have been ethanol free gasoline. 10/10 recommend this shop for your motorcycle needs! Right around the time they moved down the street, I noticed a real shift in their customer service and communication. For example, I had to replace an ABS module in my truck. Trying to learn more about why it had failed, I asked the guy at the counter what causes those to fail. He said it usually failed because owners didn't change their oil on time and let dirty oil build up around it. The way he said it, it made it seem as if I was a negligent owner who never took care of my vehicle. I thought that was a strange answer considering Terry's did all the oil changes on this truck since I bought it. Last summer, I had the fuel pump fail on my truck. I had it towed all the way to Terry's where they swapped it out. A couple weeks after I had them replace my fuel pump, I had a weird no start issue after shutting it off to unload some camping gear. I took it to Terry's who charged me for diagnosis but couldn't find anything wrong with it or any error codes. I kept having the no start issue and took it to Terry's a couple more times for diagnosis. To their credit, they didn't charge me after the first time because they couldn't find anything that was causing the issue. I started doing a little troubleshooting of my own and learned what my engine was experiencing was a heat soak failure, which can happen for a few different reasons. Terry's front desk was generous with allowing me to drive my truck with their fuel gauge hooked up a couple times. On the second time I drove it, I noticed the fuel pressure would climb to almost double the pressure it's supposed to be at after it's shut off, which meant I had an overpressurization issue. Despite them having my truck a few times for diagnosis and troubleshooting, I guess no one thought to watch the gauge after shutting the truck off, which really surprised me. That seemed like something someone should've done during the weeks they had my vehicle and couldn't find a single data point for anything that was off. It stood out to me right away and was during the heat soak period, which is when it was having the no start issue. I did a little more troubleshooting down to a few cheap parts that control fuel pressure and decided to swap them to see if it fixed my issue. After almost an entire year of not knowing if my truck would start and about $700 of parts and labor, I was ready to just sell the truck and look for a new one when a thought occurred to me. I had ruled out the fuel pump as a possibility because it was brand new and I trusted this shop with my truck, but I sat down and started researching what it might be if the fuel pump was the cause. I learned that there are two models of fuel pump for my truck's year and one has an electric fuel pressure relief system and the other has a mechanical one. I scratched down the part numbers and called Terry's and confirmed they had installed the wrong pump. As a result, there was nowhere for excess fuel pressure to go when I shut the truck off, which essentially vapor locked my engine. Unfortunately, this also pushed fuel into my oil system. I had them do two oil changes since the no start issue first emerged and apparently no one smelled fuel even though I smelled it as soon as I pulled the oil dipstick out to see if pressure had pushed fuel where it wasn't supposed to be. It's fine to make a mistake, but one of that magnitude should be made right by a business. To their credit, Terry's agreed to change my oil and put the correct fuel pump on. I also asked for a compression test, for a list of specific engine parts to be warrantied against damage since there was a solvent where there wasn't supposed to be a solvent, and I asked for a second oil change after 500 miles to make sure we flushed all the fuel out of the oil. None of my additional requests were addressed. As far as I know, all they did was change the oil and call it a day--the bare minimum they could do in this situation. What really bothers me about the whole experience is that they never once questioned their own work and they didn't seem to do much troubleshooting before giving up--both of which seem like a real break from the way I was treated in the past by their staff. In summary, I'll be looking at my options for small claims court in case my engine takes a dump because of their mistake, and I'll be looking for an auto shop that treats their customers like ones they'd like to keep for a while. There are cheaper places and ones closer to me to get an oil change. I'm a good, loyal customer, and it sucks to have a bad situation handled so poorly after a dozen years of doing business with a local shop.

The amended review apparently is not posted yet, so it's hard to speak to it. Terry's, back in the 1970s and 1980s and a bit more, had a proud certificate from AAA, which is no longer there. It's sad to see the business may have gone so publicly downhill after Terry and Kyle were no longer in charge. However, judging merely by the reviews, the business may well have improved drastically since my last visit, for many people speak of them as trustworthy and honest, something that was certainly true in the way-back-when times, but was not true in the earliest 2000s when I had such bad experiences and evident incompetence. I hope this improvement is able to continue, for my memories of the earliest days (the business had been opened significantly under a year when I first became a customer) were excellent.

Being that it was Sunday on Veterans Day weekend, not a lot of mechanics were open- but this location was. I called to check if they offer PPIs and Shawn answered and confirmed that they do. Even better, it was free (whereas all other competitors were charging $140 to $200). After an expensive weekend of car issues, just saving this money was another huge relief. I was able to drive the car up without an appointment, and Shawn and his coworker were so friendly and thorough. They went above and beyond and found everything wrong with the used car (there's always something) and even compiled a formal list of issues for me. Without their help, I wouldn't be able to make the informed purchase that I did and even negotiate for covered repairs on the vehicle I wanted to purchase. My entire day has been held hostage by them and they do not care. It is my daughter's birthday and we made plans for after the promised time that are now ruined. From beginning to end, the process with this company has been unpleasant. I will never use or recommend them again.
