***BEWARE*** I was haphazardly contacting places in Leesburg, VA to get a simple State Inspection. After a few failed attempts, I spoke with a nice gentleman at Midas who assured me they could complete this request. So... My wife and I drive over and are immediately impressed. It's clean, the staff is very friendly and it's crowded! I'm 5th in line and told it's going to take a while, which is totally cool with us. Keep it all day and call us when it's ready. My car is a 2014 Ford Focus ST in great condition. I receive a call hours later stating that my front brake pads are worn, needing to be replaced along with the rotors as well. Total out the door price, including the $16.00 State Inspection charge, is $580-something. My first instinct was to pay this and get my sticker. Ugh! I'd left my car here all day and worked from home to get this all over with. The $580-something hurt though and I told Colby I was coming to pick it up. I call another location who state they can take it today. I was lucky as it was 2:45pm when I took Colby's call. I pick my car up, the Midas guys charge me $16.00 and give me my rejection notice. I run off to place #2. Long story somewhat short here, my out the door price is $16.00. They state that my brakes require future attention, but are acceptable and pass. Midas - $580-something - brake pads, rotors, labor to pass inspection. Not Midas - $16.00 to pass inspection. Needless to say, I won't be going back here. Ever. For anything. I can't remember the last time I've written a Yelp review. I'm not sure I ever have. But... I felt it my civic duty to warn everyone out there that these guys will burn you. read more

Anyone who has anything bad to say about these guys are crazy. I have brought both of my cars here over the past two years and experienced nothing but the best. I came in with a known exhaust leak. James looked at the entire vehicle and replaced a blown gasket for less than the dealership wanted to charge to just to diagnose the car. He professionally suggested replacing a leaking rack and pinion but I chose to wait. I was in and out in less than an hour. They are very knowledgable and reasonably priced. read more

These guys are top notch service providers. They don't try to pinch every single penny out of you, but also charge you what is fair. And they go above and beyond to catch little problems, and take the time to explain to you what it all means without rushing through it. These people are nuts!! I called to a get a quote and got the run around! The guy that answered the phone told me that they would have to charge me 50 to find out if what I'm telling them is really the problem. I've had two different mechanics tell me what the problem is. One of them were a master mechanic. I told the guy on the phone this and it seem to go in one ear and out the other. They want to waste your time and money doing test on things. Never coming here again. I went a few months ago for my oil change. They started to tell me that I had issues with my alternator and battery which of course had me worried but the man upfront was ready to influence me to make an appointment for it. Next thing you know my tires were rotated and they did not realize that I have two smaller wheels; so when I was in the highway, all the lights of my dashboard went off and I was very concerned and it was hard too turn my car assuming my wheels were off balance. They tried to blame me for having 2 smaller tires, but isn't that something that you would notice if you're providing a tire rotation? I never got a refund for the tire rotation. Next I went to AutoZone and they thankfully had free testing for batteries and alternators and provided proof that it was all good to go. When their employee asked who told me that, I said Midas, and they told me not to trust them! The Midas employees knew they were in the wrong for the tires and for lying about the condition of my alternator and battery! They whispered by the cars making sure I didn't hear them but I did hear what they already had told me. I will definitely be looking elsewhere for my services. read more

I have been using this location for 11 years, and I have never been disappointed. They are always extremely honest about what repairs or maintenance I need. They take into account the level of need for repairs coined with the age of of car. We like to keep our cars for as long as possible. Their pricing is fair and every repair we have had with them has lasted without issue. Occasionally we go for service closer to home with other businesses, and I never have the same level of confidence with the other places I go. Whenever I can manage to drop off or leave it with Midas, I do. They are also great with keeping to appointment times and time estimates. This is one of the rare "big chain" auto shops that has again demonstrated honesty and integrity. I had shopped around for prices on a sway bar installation and had all kinds of wild , out-there, estimates. This Midas gave me a fair estimate, I gave them the work, and they came in UNDER estimate!! That's right, they finished up the custom work sooner than it was estimated - saving me $$$. I lost my way and did not use Midas for several years and boy am I sorry. I recently had some necessary work required on my german auto and no one could fit me in. I stopped by and not only were they able to fit me in they were not shy about working on a foreign auto. So many other places said, "no way." My service was completed, additional areas of concern noted and out the door I went having paid a very reasonable bill - far less than what the dealer and others were quoting. Several weeks later I had another problem with another german auto so guess where I automatically went? Midas. Again, everything was done on time at a reasonable cost and with very friendly service techs and managers. All of my auto work now goes to Midas. They even told me if they thought they couldn't do something they would be straight up and tell me. Honest people and service is hard to find these days. I always dread having to deal with anything related to my car because i never understand what needs to be done and i'm always afraid they're going to rip me off. I was told from autozone to go to a sketchy exxon and get my battery replaced for 80 bucks after i had just spent 160 on a new battery. i called midas and they told me straight up it would only be 35 dollars. Seriously, this place is great, prices are always right in line with competitors (if not cheaper), and always such a quick turnaround. They're never pushy about trying to get you to spend a bunch of extra money like other places I've been to. They are great at offering opinions and advice on what they think would be a good idea to get fixed for preventative maintenance. I have been going here for several years. They seem to usually know their stuff and do seem honest. However, my experience last time was not as good as usual. I had a leaky tire which they said they could not repair and suggested I get two new tires. I took the car to Costco and they repaired the tire and said it still had reasonable tread life in it. I am guessing the mechanic working on the car just did not know how to plug the tire. I hope they were not being dishonest. I also was told I needed a part that cost almost $800 installed. I brought the car somewhere else and they took a different approach for the repair that cost about $100. I think it may have been reasonable to recommend the $800 part, but the mechanic I brought the car to said in his opinion it was not necessary. I will see how the $100 repair works out. I gave the place 4 stars and not 5 due to my recent experience and in general the high prices. If you have a newer car it might be worth paying a bit more for some things, but my car is older and I don't want to put too much money in it. Also, the coffee machine is always low on water and there is no creamer (this is true, but is just an attempt at humor!). read more

When I asked about the bill, the guy became abusive and explained the estimate is for industry calculated time to do the job. I had to pay for 2.5 hours even though it took 1.5 hours. At $100.00 per hour, it makes a difference. Then he said how they have great and expensive tools and the next time, he would use crappy tools and work slower. I said "there will be no next time". BEWARE OF THIS SHOP! I have had my vehicle to the Midas in Leesburg, VA three times and I've also tried to use the Midas in Wilmington, NC multiple times. I have never once had satisfactory service. They have a tremendous markup on their parts and labor, by far one of the most expensive shops in town. I am mechanically savvy myself and I only use a mechanic when I don't have time to work on my vehicle or when I don't have the correct tools. I can tell you that they do not employ mechanics at Midas they only emply 'Parts Changers' because they do not know anything about a vehicle. They can only do what they think the computer is telling them. I had my truck in their shop in Leesburg to fix the brakes and after several visits I finally had to fix and replace the brake system myself at my house, and they did not refund a dime. I then tried to use them again to fix an AC accuator. I had already purchased the part and just wanted them to install the part. Since I had my own part they were going to increase the labor cost from $60 to $120. Essentially taking away any money I saved by purchasing my part myself from the same store that they would have purchased it from! I then went in to have them change my oil...how can they screw this up? I had a discount coupon that they had mailed me and they were not going to allow me to use it because I had visited their shop in the past! And last but not least, I went into the shop to get a state inspection. Once again, how can they screw me here? They rejected my state inspection and told me it was because I had two bulbs out. They wanted to charge me $28 to change two bulbs!!! I bought both bulbs with two spare bulbs included for $12. Therefore you can see the markup here. I took the vehicle home to change the bulbs, and wouldn't you know it I did not have a single bulb out. They were simply telling me this to get me to let them change bulbs that were not bad!! So PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS SHOP! They are more than willing to scam you out of a buck at every chance they get. I know this from first hand experience. If they'll do this with light bulbs imagine what they would be willing to do when they tear into your enginge?! A place that you cannot confirm whether they are giving you the truth or not! read more
