I've been going to Midas for over 5 years and have finally had enough of their bs. Over the years it has seems that customer service has deteriorated. A couple of weeks ago I went to get an oil change and was told I had a transmission leak, a $200 fix. I mentioned that my car was idling in a weird fashion but they told me that they would keep an eye on it but to no avail they find nothing wrong. Next day the check engine light switches on. Took it back and they checked it and found a few error codes and decided on working on some soldering issues with my camshaft. That was done for free. Same day my check engine light came on. Took it back and was told a high failure part, camshaft sensors I think, could be the problem. $200 dollar fix. Next day check engine light on again, I've named the guy Fred now, and called and asked how many 200 hundred dollar jobs am I going to need to fix my car. Mike told me they have to go through the list of problems to find out why my car is shifting hard and idling weird. I ended up calling customer support and telling them how unsatisfied I was with their service. I explained to them that when you go into these specialty shops to get work done, you expect the problem to be solved. The guy was very empathetic and connected the call back to Mike. Mike was clearly upset that I called customer support and used the fact that I he could've charged me each time for a diagnostic and that he did the soldering for free. I couldn't believe he actually told me he could've charged me for each diagnostic after I told him what I thought was wrong. In the end, Midas did not fix the main problem even after $400 dollars later. TL:DR- Payed Midas for a service that was not fixed read more

I go to pick up my car from Midas and when I arrive i noticed that the wall in front of the parking lot was broken down as if someone ran into it. I go inside to be informed that it was my car that went into the wall because when one of the employees was backing it up they decided to also back into the wall. When looking at my car after being told the new information I noticed that the curb was at least 3-4 foot In front of the wall meaning the driver had to back up pretty far before crashing. Resulting in my bumper being completely scratched up and cracked! The Manager said it happens once a year so I guess I was the lucky one this time. It happened Tuesday April 12 I was first offered to get my bumper repaired or the tires replaced. I chose the bumper because I wanted it to look how it did before I came into Midas. Now I'm being told that they can no longer replace it because the cost to fix it would be more than the value of my car so they say my choice now is to sell them the car. Overall review this company as a whole is a joke and I HIGHLY don't recommend unless you are testing to see your cars durability against brick walls. read more

Don't go ppl, literally paid 360 plus for two rotors and labor to install, the pads were covered but let's be honest 40 bucks a piece for rotors and less than that for pad your better off buying the part and doing the labor yourself. Or buy the parts and have Friends help you. You Midas well leave them your wallet and first born son. I had the misfortune of having a problem while on vacation nearby, and suffering a breakdown. They quoted me a repair of about $3500. Very nice. They knew they had me. On vacation, twin toddlers, and 4 other kids. I ultimately took it to an independently owned shop, and they fixed me up for about $900.00. It is my opinion that if they think they can juice you, they will. Beware! read more

I have been a loyal customer of Midas for years. Scotty (the manager) is number one when it comes to customer service. The mechanics there identify problems and show you before working on your vehicle. I love the fact that most of the parts they use come with a lifetime warrantee. Would give them zero stars if I could. Brought my husbands car in for an oil change, when I arrived for my appointment I was told I would have to come back tomorrow as the lifts were broken. The owner was dismissive and didn't even seem to care that I would have to change my whole day due to this. Show up the next day the owner takes the keys and proceeded to walk outside and talk for 20 mins to a friend who brought his car in to show it off...my car was not moved or taken in while he sat outside talking. The disregard for customers by this owner was mind blowing. Finally the car was on the lift where I could see it throughout the whole process... When the bill was brought up, it said there was a tire rotation done to the car. Nope! I watched the car the whole time then they didn't even put the right miles down on the interior oil change sticker. The tire pressure indicator was also on. My husband had to fill up the air. So if they truly did a full oil change one would have seen this.... The owner did not care about my concerns and just dismissed me. I will never go back here or recommend this place to anyone. Don't waste your money on this creep's business or his uneducated staff. ***update 5/8**** The corporate office attempted to save face on this review by responding that they would follow up. After I gave my email address I have not heard anything else. It is very apparent from the large amount of compliments that this location needs to be shut down or a complete new set of owners and employees. Midas shame on your saving public face but never actually reaching out to correct the issues that occurred to your customers at your franchises. Apparently manager Mark is having a bad week. I also went in for an oil change today and got a pissy attitude as soon as I presented my Groupon. When I came back to pick up the car, he started telling me everything wrong with it and his recommendations. One was damaged struts, luckily I declined the repair so he didn't "test drive" it and make it worse. He did practically throw my paperwork at me to get me out of the store. Wow what a joke .. it took them over an hour to change my oil ..first thing the " Boss "is in the garage yelling at a worker and we hear if you don't like it then get the fuck out as he is yelling at the worker .. I told them when I called that it wasn't the filter that everyone thinks it is so as I'm waiting I watch the man grab a cigarette and walk around 50 minutes in and when I mention it to the"boss" he says he's waiting for the phone to load to find the right oil filter .. really ?? Never ever will I use Midas again .. bad experience almost 20 yrs ago and I haven't been back until today .. and this confirms it NEVER will I be back again !! So, I went in for an oil change and turns out my vehicle needs synthetic oil. Richie was upfront and honest with me regarding everything- he even showed me the oil cap where it specifies synthetic. I've done several changes in the car so far and nobody told me. He even honored a coupon for the synthetic oil. Nice to get honest service in the car repair biz. read more

I got a Groupon for an oil change and tire rotation with Midas. It took a few weeks to get an appt. and nobody contacted me when I submitted the request online. When I arrived they didn't know what kind of oil my car takes then immediately told me it was more expensive than the Groupon. It only took about 45 minutes but all they did was change the oil. The tire rotation was not completed and nothing else was done. I was not impressed with this service at all. read more

This is the best shop I have ever done business with. I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 that needed a lot of work done to it. I was expecting them to take a week to finish and they had it done the day I dropped my car off. Two days later I blew my tire and had to take me car back (a little embarrassed) lol. Nick noticed I was picked up the last time I dropped my car off and told me he would provide me with a ride to wherever I needed to go. Christen (hope I spelled it right) took me to work and she is super nice. They are so reliable and friendly, I feel like I'm an exclusive customer every time I go. They are honest about the work that needs to be done now. If it's a financial strain to pay for the repairs they will tell you what needs to be fixed now and what can be fixed later and also how long later is lol. Thank you both and thank you to your team! I had an awesome experience here at Midas today. Richie Schilk has a great approach to customer service. He didn't look at me like a cash cow. He treated me well, educated me about his shop and what his shop offers. He gave me all the information I needed to know about my tires, and the different tires and prices I had to choose from. He made sure I left with a good understanding of what I received. I have been to three other places today and all three places tried to take advantage of me. Being a lady, I'm used to people trying to see if they can get one over on me. Richie was not that person, he treated me very well and didn't try to rip me off like other people. I'd definitely recommend this shop! I bought a groupon for an oil change, and I'm so glad that I did. The manager, Nick, was super friendly and helpful, especially going through recommendations for some preventative maintenance (but he never pressured me). Also, he was looking through my carfax report, and realized that one of the recommended services was supposedly already done a couple of months ago--but the other shop didn't actually do it!!! Being a shade tree mechanic myself, I have high expectations and I'm usually disappointed, not this time. The service was prompt,l and professional, no pushy sales beyond doing the job expected of them and they were timely. Only gripe is this place was busy, which is obviously a good thing for them just meant I had to set an appointment instead of walking in. Still worth it. I took my 34 Ford street rod to several oil change businesses and none of them would give me an oil change because of its ride height or simply scared to work on it. Midas crew took the time to carefully put it on the lift and get the oil changed and fix a tailpipe hanger. These guys are very careful and meticulous as well as friendly. I had to replace my cabin filter on my car and I thought I could do it myself but after removing the lid I couldn't put it back on. I was so upset thinking I had to go to a shop and pay someone to pop the lid back on, luckily I stumbled upon this place on my way back home from the bank. Richie the manager was extremely kind enough to pop the lid back on for me!!!! Super lifesaver!! I was just physically threatened by Scott Mc Crackin at Midas. Wow. He pointed his finger in my face, and said" What are you gonna do about it Motherfu***r? I get off at 6, come on back". I went to Midas because they are so close to home. I left my truck for a long 3-4 days, and they didn't fix it the first time. They threw parts at it and charged big bucks for parts and diagnostics, yet missing the problem and leaving me stranded. when I got home, the old parts worked fine when I put them back in. I went back with the parts to talk to Scott, he sits in his office? and yells, what's up? I'm not sure if that is how you should treat someone that has had to come back for the third time about the same repair. Scott said he would have to speak with corporate about any refund for parts only. I waited another week without a call, then called corporate. They said I would hear back in 24 hrs. Another week goes by, and no call from corporate. I just called again, and they said another 24 hrs. Almost a month and still no resolution We need a way to not have to give one star RUN FROM MIDAS! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Went to this place for what I thought was an oil change, ended up finding out later that they didn't put oil in my car when my oil pressure light came on shortly after the change. My engine ended up getting damaged because of this action. Went back to this location to get a refund on my first oil change and THOUGHT I was going to get everything sorted out. Richie "refunded" me the money that I paid and I was on my way. UNTIL a few days later, I check my bank account and notice that Richie CHARGED me AGAIN for an oil change that was not done. When I went back to get my money back for the SECOND time Richie was very snobby and rude with me and says that "he shouldn't have refunded me in the first place" because I drove on it & my light would have came on. When In reality, I watched the person who changed my oil reset my oil light when I was getting into my car after the first "oil change". The funniest part is when I brought this to Richies attention he looked at the person who did my oil change and goes "this person isn't with us anymore for obvious reasons" WHAT A JOKE. Save yourself time and money. Spend the few extra dollars at a place that isn't going to screw you over. I sure would have. Contacted the store before purchasing the Groupon, was asked my car make, year, and model. I mentioned I was purchasing the $19 groupon, the person on the phone said that's fine. I Scheduled an appointment and arrived on time, when I got there I pulled up the groupon to be told it's not valid for my car, mind you this location is 30 mins away from me, I was annoyed and said I wish I was told this before I drove down here. The man at the front desk said he will take the groupon, but I will need to pay an additional $30 +tax on top of what I paid to groupon. I said fine only because I didn't want to make another appointment and waste more time. Fyi they have big sign hanging outside saying oil changes $19.... So this groupon is pointless! Had to cancel a appoint due to RICHIE over the phone trying to force me to purchase a higher priced oil change. Then when I told him what I usually get I just want a $ 20 oil change . He told me I know what you want but this isn't what your manual recommends and we have to go by the manual . I told him I will go to Tempe they will not have any trouble doing my oil change he told me good luck? Went to Autoplex location and they took care of me as usual even issued me a free oil change for next time. This place is great Scott the manager has always taken care of my truck and my wifes car also. We have never had a problem with this shop. Sometimes SCOTT will sometimes tell me what I don't want to hear but Hey he gets the job done. He also has a guy name Jason which is a very smart person and knows what he is talking about.
