I went in for a Wheel Alignment, they asked why I thought I needed one and I expressed I had done some recent front end replacement repairs and it was best that I get an alignment. It was pain free quick and easy at a sensible price with a $20.00 coupon. I will definitely refer all my family and friends. Came for an alignment after waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes they came up with the conclusion that it will not hold alignment cause the shocks are worn they based it off the miles of the car the shocks probably have 15k miles on them car has 280k. I should of left when they told the guy before me they couldn't perform an alignment cause his rotors are slotted and not original style from factory. Then offered to replace the shocks all around for 2000 dollar. They try and explain it to you but the person explaining the situation don't know what they are explaining. Beware if you visit the San tan valley location. I believe they try and scam customers. read more

I used to use this place all the time for vehicle repairs, however in the last 4 or 5 years the place has went downhill. The manager in there, I don't know his name, I don't trust him as far as I can throw him. I've had shoddy work done in here with an oil leak, the mechanic left the strut brace in the hood of my truck which caused damage to the strut. I went in once for them to check my battery and they charged me 16 or 17 dollars, saying " they have to pay the mechanic ". Then they quoted me $300 for a new battery, I went down the parking lot to Auto Zone, free testing, free installation 170.00 out the door. I don't trust this place, you shouldn't either. read more

I made an appointment for 10:00 am to have an oil change on my Jeep Wrangler. I arrived 15 minutes early. As of 10:47 my vehicle had not even been pulled back into the bay. I have a husband who is ill at home and made an appointment thinking I would not be away from home for more than hour. Silly me I had to request my keys back (I was the ONLY customer in the lobby which has NO AC - just fans - so was not very comfortable. When the gentleman gave me back my keys I said "so appointments don't seem to matter here?" He just shrugged his shoulders, turned around and walked back into the bay. No apologies. NOTHING. I will take my business to the Apache Junction Brake's Plus where they know the meaning of customer service. It means a long ride but -- they have always been on time and polite. read more

Made a appointment at 4pm took my car they called at 5:51 9mins before they close to let me know my vehicle was done it takes me 9-10 mins to get there they have my address on file I arrive obviously after closing just to be told there close and I can't get my car due to sum compressor that takes 30min to lift or what not very poor customer service what authority do they have to just hold my vehicle I was there just 12 mins late I could of just paid and they can lift the gate it's unfortunate some people are treated this way. read more

Beware only have 6 month warranty coverage on work done. Will not backup repairs. Lost $1000's in faulty work. Horrible place, they have great reviews as they ask for people to give them a 5 star after a brake job. However after spending over $15grand here I had a issue, blown off and then told to go to Arizona differential. They told me brakes plus did the work wrong. When I confronted them. Was blown off again and was told they don't know how this can happen however corporate claims they did everything right. Nobody would ever call me back was told DM would call me. The parent company is rated very poor. BBB complaint found they did not act in good faith. read more

I took my 2008 Ford expedition in for an oil change. That went OK. However, it would seem their business model is to go over your vehicle with a fine tooth comb and find as much wrong as possible and to make recommendations for repairs. For my vehicle they came up with around $2000 in repairs, including a battery that would need replacement for around $300. Mind you, it had just been replaced by AAA about six months ago. They also recommended I replace my air filter which is probably a good idea, that is something I had planned to do soon. Well, the day came, and I have found that Brakes Plus did not put the air filter box back together correctly. That is they did not fasten the three clips that hold it down. It makes me wonder what else they did incorrectly under the car. I have called them, but I get put on hold for a long time. I just don't have the time to wait on hold for long periods of time. I also don't have the confidence in them that they will leave my vehicle in a safe condition. Clips are one thing, but there are much dangerous things that can be left loose underneath a vehicle. read more

ANOTHER 4 HOURS OF MY LIFE WASTED! I had to take my car back to this shop to let them exchange a battery that was under warranty. The new battery was only in the car less than a week. Alomost had to call a tow truck to get it back there, as the voltage drop stalled the car several times during the 10 mile drive. When I arrived they told me that the battery was not there and it should arrive soon. It was 3 1/2 hours later that they finally received the battery to get me back on the road. They said there was a problem with their warehouse-It seems to me that this shop does not like taking responsibility for anything-as I have witnessed other customers complaining about things and the manager just tries to blame the customer and not the shop. I have also witnessed the manager and his team blame a nice woman of saying that her engine light was on when the car came in. They gave her the keys and said that SHE WAS GOOD TO GO. SHE WALKED OUT THE DOOR AND CAME BACK A FEW MINUTES LATER. She told them that her engine light was on and was concerned since it was not on prior to arrival. When they told her "it was already on", she asked them "so are you saying that I am lying to you about my engine light not being on before I got here?" They just ignored her right in front of the other customers in the lobby. That poor lady walked out bewildered to say the least. Back to my experience. The Manager? Well, I guess he joined the "It's your fault not mine" club. No apology, or any other form of appreciation for me taking time on my day off to let them fix something that should have fixed right the first time. Hard to find good help these days. I would steer clear of this shop due to the lack of responsibility (and integrity) that they possess. Are they unaware that we are the customers and deserve to traeted as such? Go ahead and try your luck here at this location. If you want to waste your money that's on you. But don't waste your time-you can't get that time back, and it appears that they they could care less about your time, or their integrity. Rant complete. read more

After taking my car to a dealership for a regular well baby visit and being told my brakes were fine they started squealing, which was a concern so I went to Brakes Plus for a second opinion. They got me in first thing, and had my vehicle up on the rack for about an hour and a half before telling me that while the brakes were making some noise it was due to some glazing on the rotors which can happen with age. It was just an u fortunate coincidence that they started making noise after my dealership visit. They also checked the brake fluid, shocks and so on. Everything was fine and they didn't try to take advantage of me which honestly was a bit of a concern in the back of my mind. Heck, they didn't even charge me for anything! Went in for a 3pm appointment, dropped my truck off at 2:45, when I returned at 4:45, 15 minutes before closing, I found my truck had not even been moved yet. I originally dropped it off for looseness in the steering and a slight right pull to which I was informed due to my aftermarket wheels and tires it would not be perfect When they called me back an hour later to pick it up the looseness was corrected but my steering wheel now sits about 15 degrees off center when my tires are straight, it was straight when I dropped it off. For 110$ and over 3 hours I would've expected a better job. read more

Worst experience with a mechanic shop ever. My mom has dealt with one of the workers and had some success so I thought it would be okay to go in for a simple oil change. I scheduled an appointment and dropped my car off to run some errands. Never got a call that it was done but went back right before they closed (a few hours later) and asked if it was done. They said yes we must've called the wrong number. Then they grabbed their paperwork and wondered why the mechanic hadn't filled it out. They said he must've forgot and I paid and got in my car. Oil light was still on which I thought maybe they just forgot to re set it. Went home and checked and my oil change was 1000000% not done. Next day I called just wanting my money back for a job they didn't do. They called me a liar, told me I couldn't tell if the oil change was done by looking at the oil (RED FLAG FROM AN ALLEGED MECHANIC) and told me they'd pull footage proving the car was worked on but it would take a few weeks. I said absolutely not. Ended up having to have 3 different people call for this issue before they agreed to even SEE the car to see if the oil change was done. I took it over that night to prove it wasn't done. When they checked they realized I was right the oil change was NOT done. They put all the blame on the tech who was supposed to work on it. The whole front AND management should be getting in trouble. THEY are the ones that blatantly lied to me, didn't check their work, and called me a liar and told me I was dumb. After reading the comments I see I'm not the only one with a similar issue. I never leave reviews but this experience was so bad it needs to be addressed. read more

They are great for brake and general maintenance but do not use for radiator repair. Per my insurance company, the repair should have been $668 and Brakes Plus charged $1792. I had my misgivings but after spending 4 hours waiting for AAA, I trusted when I confirmed that they were qualified to do a radiator replacement. read more

*** update** called corporate 5days later no call back. Arizona differential confirmed brakes plus did not get all the metal shaving from a failed bearing, out from there work and it destroyed all the new bearings they installed** 4k of work down the drain!!! Just got off from the phone with Mark (does not care at all ) spent 10's of thousands of dollars over the last 3 years here. After all of that Mark told me to take a jump, basically who cares we are corporate owned. when all the work I did 1000's on the rear end alone, is completely shot according to Arizona differential ( that Mark referred me too) barley a few thousand miles. No de escalation skills no care in the world. He did not care and its a recorded line of course and has a poor attitude. I told him off and thats it. I will call corporate. Arizona sun can kill everything. It especially loves to kill your car battery every two years - REGARDLESS if you have a super-duper battery with all the warranties in the world (we only had a normal two year battery in ours.) So, we had to get a new battery for our 2013 Dodge Journey. Went to Autozone, and the battery was about $180. Unfortunately, the car has to go on a lift and have a wheel-well panel removed to change out the battery!! Autozone recommended this location to us - and to ask for Mark. I did so, and the experience didn't disappoint. I had to make an appointment online, but the sign-up experience was easy. **You'll need an appointment most often. This place does such a good job that the secret is out. The community supports/utilizes this location heavily!!!! We brought our Journey in, dropped it off, and two hours later we went back/picked it up. Mark found us some coupons online, and we also received a first responder/healthcare worker discount. (Check their website - they're offered on certain days of the week.) The whole cost was LESS than what it would have cost at Autozone (self-install) by about $5 !! Well worth it. They don't do only brakes, they do oil changes, tires, and obviously batteries as well. Check out their website. read more

Loose control arm and ball joint bolts after repair. I have used brakes plus for a few years now. They are close by. There was always an excessive wait even with a simple oil change. Recently, I had a light come on and they recommended I replace the fuel tank. They also recommended I replace the control arms and ball joints. I went ahead with both repairs. After leaving the shop I noticed my car was making a clanking sound when going over any street imperfections. Since having these costly repairs done the light that originally led to having the fuel tank replaced came back on and went away multiple times. More concerning than the light and the clanking sound, my car started sliding to the left then the right. I took my car bake to breaks plus. The just "inspected" it. They took me out to the garage and told me the arms weren't loose, they didn't know what was causing the issue. They recommended I have the struts and shocks replaced but could not guarantee that would resolve the issue. I took my car to another shop for a second opinion. Within minutes of the other shop taking my car they discovered the ball joint, control arms and sub frame had bolts that were finger tight. After they tighten the bolts the sliding and clanking stopped. There negligence could have led to an accident, injuries, or even death. I trusted this company to keep my car running safely. I was shocked and angry but relieved the other company was able to fix the issue. I went back to breaks plus today and spoke with the manager Jeremy. He did not believe me and even bad mouthed the other company. I asked him what he thought caused it if not the loose bolts, he said it may have been the tires I had replaced. Yet when I was there for the inspection about the sliding the tech insured me tires were not causing the issue. My car was driven immediacy after the bolts were tightened and no other work was done and the sliding and clanking was resolved. I asked that they reimburse me for the alignment that was needed after their negligence, they did issue a partial refund. I know people make mistakes but they were given the opportunity to fix the issue yet they did not instead they didn't even inspect the vehicle and just recommended a different costly repair. On top of that when another company fixes their mistake and gets their former customer back on the road safely they have the nerve to bad mouth them and say they don't believe me or the other company.
