Worst place ever. Went back a fourth time because my brakes were mushy and squeaking and getting worse, still they said nothing is wrong with it. Took it to another shop, they fixed what had been wrong for two months (the squeaking and mush brakes) in 45 minutes. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. Owner at Mission Viejo Midas yelled and cussed me out over the phone after the third time I went back. 0 stars. I've been going to this Midas for years, and they have NEVER done me wrong! The main reason I keep going to this location is because: 1) they're honest with me, and 2) they do a great job. The owner goes out of his way to make all of his customers happy, and they have never recommended anything to me that I didn't actually need. Let me put it this way: I have an 03 Honda Accord, and without their help, I would definitely not still be on the road. Customers should be cautious of getting their car serviced here. We had 2 different vehicles brought here simultaneously and both had to be returned to their shop due to their incompetence. One of the vehicles was in worst state than it was brought in, and fortunately for a second assessment from another mechanic, determined they had charged for services not performed. They are quite friendly enough, however their lack of general knowledge of vehicles and their evident scam of charging for services and parts they did not perform or replace, should be made aware to those who are looking to bring their vehicles here. I had a really good experience here. I have had a difficult time searching for a trustworthy mechanic for quite some time. I can honestly say that this shop is outstanding on all levels. The moment I walked into the shop, I was greeted by great customer service. I was even more impressed by the thorough explanation of the work needed to be completed for my car to operate. Came in here earlier today informed the mechanic there I had a nail in the rear driver side tire.. car was taken back to get "fixed" was told nail was removed and patched up. Paid what I needed to pay So tell me why I get home and the same nail that was there this morning is still there.. I'm so upset at this point it isn't even about what I paid but about the service I received. Let me start off by saying this, if I could give this place 10 stars I would. It's hard these days to find an honest shop that will fix your car properly. But, I have found this Mission Viejo Midas to be the best shop I have ever been to. The owner, Sean, was incredibly nice and genuine. He was upfront about everything and made sure I understood what my car needed. The atmosphere there is wonderful, everyone is smiling all the time. They all made me feel very welcome! Also, not only was everyone nice, the shop itself was very clean. Some mechanic shops can be dirty and have grime everywhere but here, definitely not the case. Sparkling clean! I had the worst possible experience in Mission Viejo Midas. They checked inspected the breaks and found no issues. When I started driving I noticed one of heard a loud noise from the rear wheels. After a bit of driving I stopped and checked  the wheels. One wheel was COMPLETELY LOOSE and ready to fall off the car. They had not tighten the nuts! I could remove the nuts by hand.  When the owner, Sean, was informed, at first he acted like it was not a big deal and it's just completely normal! When I told him this could have killed me if I had driven just a little bit longer, he started yelling at me that "What do you want me to do". He was a complete bully. Then when I told him this is not acceptable, he decided to tell me it is a human error and it happens everywhere. I asked him why they do not have a check, he explained they are supposed to check but clearly, it was not the case about my car. Still nothing about being sorry or apologizing. Then he decided it could be fun to yell at the employee and tell me that he is going to fire him. Then , it came to him that he can tell me he is sorry and he shook my hand and test drove my car to make sure it is safe. It was a horrible experience. Stay away. read more

$1K, 1 year, 11K miles later we need all new brakes, again. How can the rears of a car be beyond their life in this time? When I asked Shane the manager, he said it's very normal. When I called BMW and a few other shops, they said it is not normal and is either caused by leaving the parking break on (we don't use), poor product or poor install. FYI - the ratio of pad use is 3/1 fronts/rears as a rule of thumb. Secondly, their "lifetime warranty on pad's" is useless. Not just because they won't last (see above) but because you still pay for labor which is about the same as good pads and labor elsewhere. Find a good trust worthy local mechanic - particularly one that specializes in your type of car. This national chain isn't worth the cost, time or pain. read more

I never give reviews, but Joe was so great, I decided to write one. I needed front brakes and my rear breaks were squeaking. Joe was honest with and told me I didn't need rear brakes yet but I would have to live with the noise. A bad break job the car dealership. I did the front breaks and left and Joe told me anytime to come back he would help me with the rear brakes. I came back a few hours later and did the rear brakes. The price was amazing and the break pads have a lifetime warranty. Joe and his staff are honest, nice, and fast. Service was amazing. They have my business now for all my car needs. I had an issue with a fix from a Midas in the desert, and took it to Sean to check out. He looked it over right away ( I have waited longer for a Cappuccino ), and pointed out everything in plain english, showed me so I could SEE and understand what happened. He also gave me several tips on my upcoming smog inspection, and offered to check out the truck once again for FREE prior to bringing in for smog ( I have an old truck, and it required me to go to a special smog station ). Came yesterday to get some car maintenance done. I was approached by nick in a professional manner and had asked how he could assist me today. Explained to him that i have a few things that need to be replaced but im on a low budget. He assured me that it wouldn't be a problem and that they will work with me to get my car fixed. It was an absolute sign of relief to hear that, after driving it around a couple mins he came back and explained to me i needed all 4 brakes and rotors, 2 front tires, cabin filter and an oil change. I was a lil upset at myself for letting the car go so long without maintance. He explained to me that they have a coupon for the oil change which will say you some $$$$ he was also able to talk to tbe owner who then was able to work with me on getting the rest of the maintance done. After telling him to go ahead with the repairs he said it'll take about 4 hours to finish because he has to order the parts. I explained to him that i can't stay here for 4 hours, he then offered to have one of his guys drive me home (which i thought was very cool). So he had russell take me home and in 2 hours called me to say he was all done and that if i needed a ride he would send someone to pick me up. Terrific service! I stopped by early on a Saturday morning looking to get a service and to have my brakes replaced. I was called a short while later and informed that there were still life left on my brake pads and that they wouldn't feel right charging me to replace them. That type of honesty is what will make me a repeat customer. They could have easily told me the brakes needed to be replaced, but instead they were honest and because of that I will be a repeat customer. Joe and the people at Midas saved me today. The day before, I had had my car serviced and the oil changed at another company the day before. But I noticed that my car had leaked oil in my garage. I was driving on the highway back to them so that they could fix it, when my car emergency light and oil light came on. Luckily, I found Midas on El Paseo. Once I pulled into their lot, Joe showed me that the oil plug cap was missing! Obviously, the people from the other service company either did not put the plug back on or screwed it on loosely and it came off. In any case, Joe and the other mechanics at Midas did a superb job! They were efficient, professional, showed me exactly what the problem was, suggested alternative methods of dealing with my issue, and then fixed my car in no time for a reasonable price! Within less than 45 minutes I was back on the highway and driving back home. I highly recommend this place. read more

I was quoted one price to replace my brakes and when I got there they went I'm charging me 197 which I was given on the phone to $290. I told him I was not willing to pay this and wanted to leave the manager , Sean then said he would give me the brakes for 190 but he said I also needed a new radiator, my oil changed and rotaries so my 190 quote to replace my brakes is now up into the thousands. I told him I could not afford that and to just do the brakes. I also told him I had a coupon that would cover the cost of the brakes. Sean became extremely combative disrespectful and rude. he said what's your problem, you don't have any money ? I said I came here to get my brakes replaced because I had a coupon and that's all I can afford at this time. I work full-time and I am a college student so I am on a budget. Sean then started telling me that if I did not get my rotors replaced that I would be driving down the freeway and I could kill someone and that he could not ethically let me go without replacing the rotors . I reminded him that the numbers you gave me on my rotors were within the legal range to drive . He was being such a bully and calling me names that I began to cry. I just wanted my car back. the brakes were replaced but when I went to give Sean my coupon to cover for the repairs Sean refused to accept my coupon and charge me full price. Sean was a bully and he scammed me. I went there simply because I had a coupon that I paid $90 for and it would cover the cost of my brakes which in the end Sean refuse to accept and charge me full price. I'm the very beginning of our conversations I told him I had a coupon so I had to stay within the range or what if you can get allow me to spend. If Sean was going to refuse my coupon he should have told me the service so I could have taken my business someplace else. A coupon cost me $90 plus $190 for my brakes so I ended up paying $280 for brakes that should have only cost me $90 coupon. I plan on taking legal action because this was a scam. I would never take my car here again. read more

Was very disappointed here. There customer service was out the door awfull. My price got jacked up about 200$ to change a spark plug, being someone's who knows about cars that is incorrect and they stereotype the customers. Midas is very untruthful and unorganized. I would not recommend this place for any service on any car. read more
