When I think of the word quality, I would expect proper work to be performed. Unfortunately that was not the case when I took my Audi to Quality Motors. I was referred to them by a friend and wish I never had heard about them. Long story short they put old gaskets back on instead of new ones which caused gas to leak all over my engine. I was lucky my engine did not catch on fire. After being towed a couple times it ended up at the dealer who figured out what happened. When I called and spoke to Brian Standers he was very short with me when I told him what happened and said "of course the dealer is going to tell you it was our fault". I decided to leave it as I had never planned to go back to Quality Motors again. When I picked up my car from Audi my service agent told me that QM picked up the tab and shortly after that I received a voicemail from Brian accepting responsibility and telling me because of what happened to me they have implemented a new policy. I did not realize I was going to be their test agent as anyone knows you don't put old gaskets back on a car you have done work on in that area. I called Brian to thank him for picking up the bill for the work his shop caused and explained how it impacted me, my job (had to cancel a work trip) and the gas smell that has yet to leave my car 2 months later. Then I simply asked for a partial and fair reimbursement on the work I paid for (which was extremely costly) that caused this debacle and he said he would have to speak to the owner. About 2 weeks later and a follow up call from me he said he would not reimburse me but would give me a discount on future work! The audacity of this guy! Needless to say I will be taking legal action. Please think twice when going to this shop as they do NOT do things by the book nor do they care about their customer! read more

Another great maintenance performed by Quality Motors. The final bill was exactly as quoted and even though I suggested some new parts be replaced (specifically hoses), they found that I didn't need them which saved me money. I got my windshield wipers replaced and although the ones ordered and installed were the correct part for my car, they didn't work properly. John, the Service Manager, went to great lengths to make sure I got ones that worked properly. Thank you, John. I normally do not provide reviews of the business, but I wanted to alert anyone considering going to these guys. My wife and I had been going to this place for the past couple years, but recently our experience with them has been concerning. My wife had brought in her 325i BMW for regular service, and she was told that her Battery needed to be replaced, so she authorized them to replace it. Soon after they replaced the Battery, we were notified that a module that controls the closing of the windows was damaged resulting in the windows not closing fully. This was not a problem before we brought it in for service. We were told that the module would cost $1200 to replace it. Since this issue didn't exist prior to bringing it in for the service we assumed that they would stand by their work and make the situation right? No such luck! They refused any responsibility for the damage to her car. The second issue that caused concern was when I brought my Toyota 4-Runner in for a checkup. They notified me that I had a transmission mount that needed to be replaced. Being already suspicious about the truthfulness of Quality Motors, I decided to take my car into my previous auto repair place that was considerably further from my house which was the reason for going to Quality Motors in the first place. They took a look at the mounts for me and told me that they did not see any issues with the existing transmission mounts. These two instances as well as a couple other curious occurrences regarding pricing have forced my wife and I to never go back to this place again. Now the drive to my old repair place is definitely easier to take. If you do decide to use Quality Motors, be sure to scrutinize everything they say and check all prices of the replacement parts to ensure you're not getting ripped off. I hope this helps. Not sure what is going on lately with Quality Motors. I've used them in the past and they were very honest. Maybe they need the business. I brought my BMW X1 to them for an oil change. Just two months earlier, I had the car inspected at the dealership because the warranty was about to expire, so I didn't expect much more than the oil change. I got a call that the radiator needed to be replaced, the belts were almost gone, leaks all over, etc. Almost $4,000 worth of repairs. I called the dealership and they said that the exhaust leak is still under warranty and they couldn't comment on the other items unless they looked at it. I explained to Quality Motors that the exhaust leak was under warranty and I would hold off on the other items. They completed the oil change, brakes and told me repeatedly that they checked, but the exhaust leak is NOT under warranty and would be about $1,000 to fix. Again, I told them no. Long story short, I brought the car back to the dealer: The exhaust leak was under warranty (Glad I didn't believe Quality Motors). There was no radiator or other leaks The belts were fine The filters were fine Basically, all the scare tactics were that, scare tactics. I'm not even sure the brakes needed to be changed since the service light wasn't on. I guess they got me on that repair. Quality Motors has lost a long-time client. read more

This was my first experience here. I brought my Cayenne Turbo in to fix a 'check engine' light so I could get it smogged and it was a disaster. There were several parts that were needed to be replaced in order to get it smogged, which I approved. However, they had the vehicle for over a month in order to get this resolved. Emails sent to them regarding the status of the work took days to get returned. When the car was dropped off I couldn't believe the mileage. They drove the Cayenne 600 miles while they had it?!? I spent over $3800 on the necessary repairs but it would appear that someone took the car for several joy rides in my absence. To make matters worse, they dropped off the car when it was on fumes...could have at least had the decency to leave me some gas in it. Finally, they knocked off a piece of trim on the driver's side door and rather than try and put it back on they just threw it in the back of the car. I have been in the restaurant/service industry for over 40 years, live locally in SJC and was trying to support a local business, so I would want to know if my staff screwed a customer over as bad as these guys did me. First the positive about Quality Motors. Professionalism and scheduling was on point, and service writer was friendly. Unfortunately, I felt it was unfair that the service writer I spoke to welcomed me to bring the car in with no mention of fees, but upon arrival surprised us with a $150 diagnostic fee. IMHO, this is bad business considering by the time I've arrived, my ride had been arranged, time has been made, etc. Aside from this fee being high compared to other shops, the actual repair bill was also double what I ended up paying at another very reputable shop. When asked how much the car is worth for trade in, it was also quoted significantly below comparable trade in market value. In fact, the repair bill quoted was higher than the trade in "value." Given the astronomically unfair repair bills and lack of transparency with quoting, you might as well take your car to the dealer. read more

They tried to charge me 1200$+ for a job that is usually 350$ I'm for one to give new places a try and see the best in these places but it's really a shame the scam they try to pull and for the others that have fallen for it. Do not get your car diagnosed here! With the knowledge I have in automotive, doing everything by the book, labor, and the price of these parts still don't even equate to how close they were asking! To be exact, in our case we heard some strange sounds, seemed like something with the back; there was a roaring noise heard during acceleration. This was diagnosed and the possible sources were discussed with me. After the leak was found in the exhaust manifold, the source of that and the remedies were also discussed. Meanwhile all things that are in good shape are also reported. The final outcome is complete understanding and satisfaction for both the car owner and the technician because there is no misunderstanding. I brought my Mini Cooper Countryman into Quality Motors in pretty bad shape in March. A family tragedy prevented me from getting it in when I should have. Brian was very helpful in diagnosing the problems and communicating with me along the way regarding progress, options etc. Jeff was kind to drive me back to San Clemente as I was prepared to take the bus home and offered a pick up if needed when my car would be complete. The shop is clean, professional and Brian was most helpful at a very difficult time. The car runs great. I will continue to take back to Quality should I need future repairs and I would definitely recommend to others that are seeking, honest, reliable and professional services for their vehicles. If your in need of any vehicle related services for your foreign car, from a diagnostic, smog or anything else this is the place. I have bounced around a couple different shops for our vehicles, that was until I found Quality Motors. Everybody from the owners, service staff and technicians are beyond professional. The shop is clean and organized as is the waiting room. While waiting for my repairs I made use of their shuttle service which was very convenient and prompt. The cost for my repairs was fair, not like their competition or the dealerships. Plus they have their own towing service which is also very convenient. I no longer have a need to bounce around for my vehicle repairs, I've now found a home for my vehicle repairs. read more

This shop has been a real find for us! We have an older M3 that's needed some work. We love how Ben Amen and the team there make it easy- Not just the pick-up, delivery, loner cars. But also they thoroughly document (incl. photos) what needs to be done and what it looks like during and after. We never feel like we're being talked into unnecessary repairs, but also feel confident they're doing the maintenance essential to sustaining the vehicle long-term. It feels good to do business with a shop whose knowledge, skill and integrity we can trust.
