Experience was awful went for an oil change and estimate on brakes not catching was told bt Mary can be fixed stated to say needed brakes and pads charge $500 and problem not fixed a bunch of lies and ripped off turned out to be only two mechanics (if you call them mechanics) at location on West Ave 78213 call # on invoice to complaints not a working # looked Google # to complain no one called back all a scam even corporate office reviews are so awful too ma y complaints wish all Midas go out of business will file more complaints to BBB and consumers report please don't go to Midas unless you want get ripped off by liars and scammed also mechanics lost parts (bolts was looking all over like a crazy person under cars etc AWFUL even corporate personnel read more

It's been nearly two months since we reached out to Midas to inform them that the ac work their tech did rendered my heater inoperable. My wife and I were willing to overlook the damage he did to the two inner vents and the fact that Home Screen/GPS no longer works, but considering the winter months are here and I can't defrost my windshield I am now leaving this review and plan on reaching out to a regional representative who can help us. This is ridiculous and ever since Jim and Joe left this location has gone downhill. We've been going to this location for nearly five years and we're confident they'd get the job done. I have been going to this location for 10 years and have always received excellent service. Jim is amazing and when I was traveling for work (82,000 miles on my car in two years!) he made sure I never had a problem on the road. I was disappointed to hear he is leaving the location. This Midas is the BEST. My mother and I have been bringing our cars here for the past 10+ years and not once have we ever been lied to or cheated. Jim, the manager, and his guys are honest and that's hard to come by in a mechanic. My boyfriend and I brought our car by yesterday to have a coolant hose replaced and initially were told that the repair was only $60 which is already reasonable. When we came to pick it up today they said they didn't charge us a single dollar. Long story short, Jim knows that we've spent a lot of money to fix the coolant hoses in the past and didn't want us to have to spend a fortune so close to the holidays. I was so happy for years with Jim & crew @ the Midas on West Ave before Jim recently left Midas and I needed to take my car in this month for regular maintenance. I met Joe, who fills the management role with professionalism, while keeping me very informed in a friendly manner. Joe and his crew worked quite fast, yet informed me of any additional signs of possible problems (there were some filthy filters which really needed replacing). I spoke with an employee who repaired my a.c. in 2023, and he and Joe are looking forward to continued super maintenance of my car for years to come. If any repairs become necessary, I will continue to go to Midas first. read more

I have been taking vehicles to Jim and his team for over a decade and can say in all honesty these guys are a cut above the rest. Car repairs are a bummer and most of us know we are at a disadvantage when the car car has a problem. These guys repeatedly have been fair and accurate with their estimates and at times even much cheaper than the initial estimate. One of two places I can easily say I trust they are going to do it right and with no surprises or sticker shock. Even their assessment of other items needing to be fixed have been spot on. My car needed brake pads and rotors changed out. Thought it was the front and rear axles that needed them. However only the front ones needed to be changed out. I appreciated the honestly and fast service. Walked in around 8:15 am and was out of there by 10:30. Fast, friendly, and honest service. read more

I have all of my work done at Midas. This time around they fixed my breaks. They called me before they started working. They quoted me an amount and told me what I needed done. When I picked up my van the cost was $20 lower than the quoted amount. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. Took car in to get alignment done, they tried to add on a lot of work totaling over $1000, told them just do the struts on the front and we'll come back to do the rest some other time. Left the car overnight and thought that was that. Car was left unlocked or broken into and whoever it was took everything. EVERYTHING. Midas, of course, claims no responsibility. They didn't even offer to compensate for what was stolen while the vehicle was in their care, on their property. No signs posted stating they are not responsible, and no paperwork was ever signed. If you DO decide to come here, make sure you know exactly what repairs you need and make sure you take your car home at the end of the day. read more

Made an appointment for a morning oil change, I'm on my way over there and just to make sure I'm on the list, I call them, only for someone to tell me they have no appointments for today. I tell him I had made one the previous day, he continues to tell me they are hours behind and because he got "too busy" he didn't call me to tell me anything. Way to be professional.. Not to mention how rude he was throughout the conversation. This is my first time using Midas and it is also the last. UPDATE: the man that I had spoken to this morning was the manager of the store. My boyfriend had gone to the store to talk to the manager because he knows him. He had asked him what happened and the manager, continuing to be rude, basically repeated what he had told me this morning. My boyfriend had told him he probably lost good customers because of his behavior not only towards me but now to him, the manager then told him he doesn't want his service anyway if he doesn't like someone who is "direct". read more

I have relied on this Midas for all my car repairs for over 25 years. I moved to the hill country 8 years so and I still bring any major maintenance needs to them because I know the repair will be done right and the price will be fair. Foreign or USA built cars and trucks ranging from 1971 to 2011 - I get them fixed here. My daughter and I took her SUV in for an oil change and tire rotation on Saturday. The mechanic lost the key fob to our vehicle. The manager said he'd have it towed to a dealership and on Monday they could make us a new key fob. He didn't offer to pay for the tow or the key fob. I asked him what my daughter should do for a car to get to work on Monday morning and he said he couldn't get us a rental car, I told him I was going to call the police just to have this on record that indeed the key was lost at Midas.. The manager looked at me and said if you call the police, I'll push your vehicle out into the driveway and you're on your own. Everything will change if you call the police. I had my daughter step outside and call the police. The owner showed up. He didn't so much as looked at me or my daughter. He didn't say a word to us. The mechanic that sopposedly lost the key spent a good amount of time outside leaning against the building chatting on his cell phone. Myself, my daughter, the manager, one mechanic and the police officer were searching for the key for over an hour, they eventually found the key in another mechanics things, they had let that mechanic go home shortly after the key went missing, because they were positive he didn't have it. I honestly feel the manager tried to bully my daughter and I when I mentioned calling the police to make a report. Was the oil changed and tires rotated ?!?!? Who knows but my advice would be to avoid this Midas like the plague. read more
