I can't recommend the manager Johnny and his team enough. I am not local, but I do come in a few times a year when I am in the area. I originally came in for an oil change and during that time they were fast and efficient and kept me informed. In addition, the manager keeps the place spotless which is great when a woman comes in for service. I was so impressed with their service that I came in the next day for a full set of tires. I had 4 new tires on my car, and I was on my way in less than 30 minutes. Their prices are great, but their service is what will make me continue to come back. Three stars for the work they do and the efficiency. With that being said. The gentleman that greeted me couldn't help but inform me that the service contract provider would take several days to pay him, he was vocal about that. I explained to him I wasn't in control of that and was only bringing the car to him per their request. I had no issues whatsoever for the first oil change. He was fixated on his payment, I did inform him that the first oil change went off without a problem. He then printed off a bill from the first oil change and said that I used a credit card to pay it. Which I didn't. So there's that. In the end I had the work done and went on my way. But not here, with no reservation I was able to take my car in and get it back in a few hours. Also I was quoted around 250 for the job and they did it for around 150. Mid tbh. Asked for a certain size and brand over the phone. The guy said they had them at a warehouse but the warehouse closes at a certain time on Sunday so I had to come in soon and get them. So when I did that turns out they don't even have the tire in stock till Monday. Should have been red flag #1 but it was Saturday and needed tires. So ended up choosing a different brand but kept the same size of 275 . Looking at home at the invoice tire size is 265 and I indeed have them on my car. So I don't think I even got the same Continental tire I asked for but eh it'll work . Also calling to upsell twice is crazy just try it once you'll end up annoying the customer if you call them a second time for an up just to tell them their car still isn't ready. read more

I've since had all my tires replaced replaced here; driving the kids to school in midtown I put higher than average mileage on my tires, and it was time. I believe there was a "buy three get one free" deal, though I don't know if this was for a limited time or not. A few months after I had my tires replaced, my husband had all the tires for his lifted F-250 replaced here as his tires were at the point that they were unsafe to drive on. No deal for these special tires, but my husband felt they were reasonably priced and we have always been happy with the service here. I love having a business I can return to. read more

Let's just say customer service is not their thing. I went to the location on Bandera and 410 where I witnessed the manager of this location totally insulting a customer but the guy behind the counter was very nice to me so I continued. Today I stopped in, there was no one waiting and the guy behind the counter asked me to wait while he was on his computer. This literally took him 10 minutes then he finally looked up at me and gave me a contact. Ask me what it was I needed, I explained to him that my tires were just installed a two days ago at a different location but my light keeps going on seeing my pressure is low. He asked me if I had it some time and he will get a check, I said sure how long will it take? He said, give me 2-3 hours! YES, HOURS!!! With no one waiting! I asked why so long if there is no one in the shop and he shrugged his shoulders and told me, "Hey, this is first come first serve". The craziest thing is, this is what I witnessed a manager at the other location say to a customer while yelling at him. I asked him if he could schedule me a time to return and he responded "NOPE"! Really bad customer service and they don't communicate. I made an appointment, brought my car in and they had no appointments for me. This was actually the second time this happened. I left my car and they said they'd call. They didn't and it had been half a day so I called. They said they meant to, and the minor repair (battery) would take another day to do. I went to pick up my car and 3 employees were inside behind the counter chatting several minutes before they finally addressed me. I asked for my car and they said it was up front (which it wasn't). I asked for someone to show me and the guy was walking all over, obviously, lost and couldn't find my car. We finally located it all the way in the back. I took my car and didn't go back. I purchased a Groupon to get an oil change and tires rotated. I had to pay an additional $4 to dispose of the old oil that was removed from my tires. I went in at noon and they had no wait time to get my car in the shop. I went in without an appointment mind you and got out in less than an hour. The staff was extremely friendly and helped educate me on why I needed new tires due to not rotating them as often as I should have. I received a quote on a new set of tires from the staff. The waiting area was clean and had a tv to watch the news. It also had a coffee machine and restrooms. I will most definitely be going back next time to get my oil change from them. They do a full inspection of your vehicle to see what other maintenance that needs to be done. read more

Went for an alignment today and was immediately told that all four of my tires needed replacing at a cost of $565. I took my car to another tire shop that said I only needed two replacing. The last time I went to Big O tires (a different location) they did my alignment in 13 minutes. Obviously there was no work done on it. I will not be using them again. read more

I brought it to this location because my Jeep was overheating & moving 1 qtr. out to the right on the heating thermostat, making this very loud noise that appears to be the cooling fan. I own 3 Jeeps, so I don't drive this Jeep often. I initially brought it to the one on Military, & the mgr. there told me it was the thermostat. I paid $217.54 to fix it. I hadn't driven my vehicle on the expressway since then. I typically use my Sahara. My son uses this Jeep at times to go to school which is very close to our home, 3 miles, & it is a 30 miles an hour run on Broadway. He takes it to UIW here & there, but he usually rides his Moped instead to save gas. This Rubicon Jeep doesn't get a lot of usage by comparison. I finally drove this Rubicon & heard the same issue. My 20 year old wouldn't have paid attention to the vehicle heating up or the fan noise due to lack of experience. This time, afraid of taking it back to the same store, I took it to the one on HWY 281. I explained the history. I told him the sound has been there for a while & that he needed to drive it fast & several miles in order to hear it & the thermostat story. It will be obvious if they drive it long enough & fast enough, too. The price was 1,046.25, but I still have warranty, so my portion was 300.00. While driving, I hear the same sound, & my vehicle begins to heat up again. There is no way they serviced the vehicle at all or for what I brought it for, & this is mechanic fraud. I called the store immediately, within 10 minutes out of the store after I heard the noise and had parked to do so. I asked to speak to the mgr. which they didn't transfer me to him. Further, I asked for the mgr. to call me back since they close at 6, & it was 5ish. They said the mgr. left early. No call was returned as I expected! I called corporate, & they gave me an incident report. They said they will call me back in 3 days. I will update what transpires when they call me. This was Friday, July 22, so on Saturday, July 23, I arrived first thing in the morning at 7:30 to complain to the mgr. that the issue I brought it for didn't get fixed. I wondered if they even did anything at all. I called the SA Police to take a report. He took the report. I allowed the officer to hear the sound I had recorded in the same location that Saturday morning at this store when I arrived. I also have a video of the same day of supposed service, Friday. I want to download it here, but it only allows pictures. The officer heard the noise & my concern & went inside to talk to the mgr. A man standing by overheard the conversation between Officer Harris & the manager who calls himself "Ray". The manager claimed that I didn't pay. He also claimed that the vehicle wasn't heating up even though I specifically told him it was heating up when I initially brought it that Fri. morning, so when the officer came back outside, I showed him my payment receipt. And reiterated again, the vehicle was heating up even if the mgr. claimed it wasn't. It's been heating up at long distance since my initial visit to the one on Military in Sept. It just won't do it until I drive longer miles & faster then 30 miles per hour. So, the mgr. lied to the officer. I have the bystander's phone # as proof. I also demanded I wanted the fan he said he replaced. I took it with me. If the fan was replaced as they allege, then it was a faulty fan, & it should have warranty. Instead, they sent me away with no legitimate excuse as I was being completely civil. I told the officer I wanted them to rectify the problem that same day I was taking the report, on Saturday. The mgr. said he didn't want to rectify the problem. I brought an officer to make a police report which is my right as a citizen. I needed proof; otherwise, it would leave room to claim I didn't come right back. As it is, the bystander overheard the manager telling the officer that if I drive it out, anything else could have broken. That is such a copout. I'm frankly very disappointed in these scammers. I would never recommend Big O Tires at this point. read more

Big O Tires I paid for work that was not completed at your location. I paid for a Groupon for an oil change, filter change and tire rotation. I marked the tires prior to bringing them in to your store. I was called on the afternoon of March 10 and the morning of March 11 that my car was ready. I declined getting a TPMS sensor repaired, but I was told the other work was done. When I picked up my car on the afternoon of March 11, the folder was in the "completed" file. I asked your desk person if the tire rotation was done. He assured me it was. I walked around to my car and the tires were not rotated, because I marked them and they were in the same spot. I came back in and asked the technician and he went back and this time I was told they were NOT rotated because they had enough tread left. But obviously the story changed. I then went back to my car and saw no typical sticker on my windshield for the new oil change. And most concerning was that the computer fault still remained, the trip computer fault was still showing and my oil life % was still the same low level that I brought it in. So, basically, I was lied to and charged as if work was done. I tried to talk to Jay the technician who gave me a run around story. He was lying and covering up for the lack of work performed even though I paid. I voiced my displeasure and he said he was done helping me. So, now I paid for work that wasn't done. I will be reporting this situation to the better business bureau. You can't lie and treat customers this way. read more

Big O Tires 13080 North HWY 281 San Antonio, Texas 78216 - I bought their fully synthetic Groupon deal. - Vehicle: 2016 Dodge Journey 4 cyl with 43,500 miles Reviews via Groupon cannot all be real. Especially when I read 'no pressure' to get extra's they offer you whilst mechanics are working on your vehicle. Hahahaha... BS. - I arrive at 10:50/10:55. My car is taken in immediately. There is one other person in the waiting room and leaves shortly after due to his vehicle being complete. (We are going to call the man who helps up front Mr. Wallet Poacher (name removed for protective purposes, or bc I could care less to remember his name at the moment because he pissed off the wroooong person today). - Mr. Wallet Poacher comes in FIVE times in 30 minutes giving me quotes on all of the things that my car "needs" for its "HIGH MILEAGE SERVICE". He goes on about how I need the following items replaced/serviced: 4 spark plugs ($140/PER PLUG which is NOT including labor, air filter ($25), cabin air filter ($25), all four tires ($822.44 and add $25.12/tire for a "protection plan" = $922.92, BEFORE TAXES, NO FLAT REPAIRS, AND NO ROTATIONS AFTER 5,000 MILES).... By the way, this included their sale of BUY ONE GET ONE FREE. That is beyond laughable. - I tell Mr. Wallet Poacher "This is quite a big purchase, so I'll need to talk to my fiancé before I spend so much. But I will replace the filters because they haven't been replaced and know the need to be (due to viewing them myself)." I got tires that are THREE times better, comes with lifetime warranties, will fix flats, free rotations for lifetime and the BEST customer service and legit discounts. - I paid $450 with taxes including all the works for 4 HIGH quality tires at Discount. - To get my spark plugs replaced at a DEALERSHIP (with labor) is approximately $205. To do them myself, even cheeeeaaaper. If this only helps ONE person, I'm satisfied. I went there first an oil change, and not sure they even did one, not to mention how they messed up my car in more ways than one! And management has made it clear, they don't care, neither GM's nor DM's, despite what the signs in their shop advertise about wanting happy customers. DON'T risk going here!! The guys at Big O Tires were awesome! I'd purchased a Groupon for just an oil change and got there around 9AM, noticing the number of cars in the service line. They greeted me at the door and gave me no grief about the fact that I was early (by about 2 hours); they just got me in line and got me going. When they came back in to discuss the issues they'd seen in my car, there wasn't any sales pitch or pushiness just "Here's what it'll cost do these repairs; here's what I suggest you do first; and do you want to do that today?". When I said "no", I was simply given a nod and a "Then let's get you checked out and on your way". This is the reason that, when I figured out how to pay for them, I'll be driving to this Big O Tires instead of looking for something closer. read more

Go somewhere else. I came here in early October and it's taken me a bit of time to review but I also don't think they should be off the hook for what I experienced. I was looking for a new tire shop as I'd recently driven cross country and wasn't impressed with my first SA tire shop after I had to replace one. I was about to go on another long trip, and I even informed them when I went in that I was overdue for my tire rotation. So I had shopped online and found a synthetic oil coupon and tire rotation so I was excited, it wasn't a bad deal. Here's the kicker. Along with the usual dirty air filter recommendation that every place does, this place informed me my battery "tested low". Okay, it was 4 months old but it's possible. So I took it to autozone, who said that my battery was fine, but wasn't at full energy, like something had drained it. Okay, but that's when I looked down and noticed that they didn't even rotate my tires!!! How did I know? Because I had one different tire from the replacement and a paint splatter on one of the rears. Still the same! And I was leaving the next day. So not only was I annoyed with my tires, who knows what they did to my battery, I don't even know if they did my oil change but the cherry on top was they rummaged through my glovebox. Do they really not have my vehicle's info on hand and were looking for my car manual or something? Not to mention I had my three kids with me and I waited outside for over an hour. One star because the guy at the counter was nice. But seriously? I ended up driving my 1500 miles to my old trusted tire shop, in and out in a half hour and they also tested my battery, which they said was more than perfect.
