The manager at the desk said that he wasn't here yesterday so it did not get logged. So I asked do I still have an appointment? And his response was "not on my system you don't". I went to this place on 4-16-2020 for an oil change, I asked for Royal Purple and the girl at the front stated they don't do very many changes with RP. She stated she could give me a small discount and the reason the oil was more expensive there is because they do an inspection of the vehicle as well. Turn out I needed to have the valve cover gasket replaced, the air filter and a tune up. I took me vehicle to get this taken care of and I was asked when the last time the oil was changed, My response was 4-16-2020, I was informed that this was not 10 old oil nor was it Royal Purple. I took the vehicle to get the oil change today and asked they guy when he thought I last changed the oil. He laughed and said seems like it hasn't been changed in a while. read more

On Jan 10th,2018 after making an appointment over the phone for an oil change.I was quoted a $65 charge using sythetic oil. When picking it up I was charged $100 not the agreed amount of $65. I was also informed that my Terrain was in need of brakes. Because I provide regular care and maintenance with my mechanic back in Illinois, where I reside, I thought this was doubtful. Upon returning home to Illinois I brought it to my mechanic that stated brakes were not at all necessary and that I had atleast 30,000 left on the life of the ones that the Terrain has. I called and spoke with John the location owner/mgr that eesponded with it was his day off and he had no responsibility due to his absence and that the mechanic that performed this service was not enployed by Midas any longer. Got work done on my truck went back three times for the same repair got charged third more money truck still broke down went to pep boys and got it fix don't trust Midas they will rob you blind thanks pep boys for honest good. Update Midas replied that they we're sorry and give me a website. So I went to there website told them what happened and still nothing they didn't give me my money back this company sucks and hopefully be out of business some so they won't be able to rob people out of there money. read more

Will never go to Midas again! Had my truck serviced for over heating and is still overheating. Had service done on 5/15/2021, they replaced the fan clutch and was told it would help. Turn my truck on to drive it to a radiator shop and upon starting, it had an electrical symbol, check engine light, service 4wd all lit on the dash which was not lit up before service. Then coolant temp gauge also did not move the entire time driving the vehicle. I returned on 5/16/2021 explained what was going on and that these issues where not present until after my vehicle was serviced and the guy at front desk told that he couldn't get to it and that it could be anything. I find extremely odd that none of these issues were present until after the service especially the temp gauge not moving at all after being serviced and checked for overheating. Do not waste your time at Midas, they'll make stuff up to sell you something and not fix the real issue. I will never return! read more

My car wouldn't start and I was stranded, long ways from home. I called Midas and Davin answered. I've never had anyone go above and beyond to help me out. Thanks to him I didn't have to wait 1-2 hours for the tow truck to tow my vehicle. He helped me save time and money, to have my SUV towed. David drove to where I was. He was there within minutes and managed to start my vehicle, long enough to follow him to the shop. I suggested it was the starter that had gone bad, but after running a diagnostic, Davin said it was only the battery that needed replacing, not the starter. Other places would've agreed with me and would've charged me to replace the starter and the battery. I'm glad he was honest in telling me only what needed replacing. Not many women know about what's wrong with our vehicles when it won't start. Mechanics see and know this, and women get taken advantage of. I'm really grateful to Davin for driving to where I was. He turned, what I thought would be a long and expensive day, into a, not so bad hour. That's about how long the whole thing took. Late August, I took my F150 in for a metal clanking noise that had developed. It was diagnosed as a bad front , left wheel hub / bearing assembly. I paid over $900 to fix it after the store manager (Christian) told me that they could only order them in pairs. So I had them both replaced. Picked up the truck, drove it, and the next day heard the EXACT same noise, just a bit more faint. Called them back same day. I was on military orders there and they couldn't get me in soon enough to look at it again. When I got back home, I took it to another Midas shop. They found the problem of a broken tire pressure sensor on the back left wheel within an hour. This is after my tires were rotated at the TX store. (this is why the noise got less noticeable... because it went to the back left position). And the store manager said that my "tire pressure sensor light was not on during their "courtesy Inspection" .... WHICH by the way it was and had been for MONTHS... so GREAT INSPECTION guys! Also, no one ever showed me a wheel bearing that was damaged or anything... after I sat in the store for 4 hours waiting for the repairs. As of 9/12/2017- So, now... after dealing with the regional manager (Jason) and trying 3 separate calls that he never returned until I filed a complaint with the customer service line...he advised me that the store manager: (John Hagen / Linked-in profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-hagen-a5b89969)... since there is no way to personally contact him; has denied to reimburse me any of the money except for the $72.00 that the Midas charged me to fix it in my home state. I called the Customer service at 1-800-621-8545 to make a complaint again and they said there is nothing they or HQ can do. I can write to them at: 823 Donald Ross rd. Being new to San Antonio I trusted my car with Midas as I did I Portland and I must say I wasn't disappointed. Reading the comments I was hesitant at first but these gentlemen provided with excerpt customer service as well as my car is great! Costly but well worth it as it was inline with what I expect to pay for a Mercedes. They contacted me almost every hour to provide me with a status and detailed options. Very bad experience. I was promised a $50.00 gift card if I let theme work on the front brakes which I though it was a good deal. December came around so I called Midas to ask for my gift card, well the manager was fired and the new manager didn't know anything about it so he told me to talk to Jason Harrison (district manager) and once more I explained the situation. He said that he was going to investigate and that he would get back to me, well guess what he never did. Every time I called him either he didn't answer or when he answered he pretended not listen so he would hang-up. he is giving me the run around. I would appreciate a phone call at least telling me that they can no longer honor the gift card, but to ignore me like that makes me very upset. That is not very professional. read more

Updating my previous review, I spoke to the District manager and he states that after his investigation he concluded the tech told my husband that the wrong fluid was in the brake master cylinder and he doesn't know why nothing was noted on the 3 papers including the brake system evaluation sheet that was given to us. Even if my husband was told He (he denies it to me) is NOT a Professional Mechanic and has no idea what having the wrong fluid means THAT'S why we pay the Professional Mechanics over $200 just for labor of a little over an hour $649 with parts. $20 Shop supply (which I guess was to replace the wrong fluid) Midas states on their website they put their customers first and care for their customers safety but their actions on our part sure doesn't show that, they still let my husband leave with the wrong fluid in the mc knowing that the brake parts all $649 dollars of work they did was not going to matter as the brakes were going to fail.. I did pay for a brake bleed and new fluid at Midas but a few days later when the brakes locked another garage could plainly see the wrong color fluid in the brake master cylinder. Why is that? I paid the other garage who found the problem and explained to me all about it to replace my complete brake system just after a couple weeks after having Midas working on it. I have requested a full refund from the main co. but I doubt I will get back a penny. Oh I paid the other garage $770 (after a huge discount) to replace my entire brake system. Just a little over a hundred more than what I paid Midas to replace a few parts. If customer service fixes this issue with an apology and a refund I will update again. Customers first? read more
