My son left without oil change and was told to make the Groupon redeemed when they wouldn't do his oil change. They wanted an additional $40!! Are you kidding me?? WARNING- The Midas brake pad Groupon is a total scam. Midas won't honor the groupon. Midas claims Groupon is advertising brake pads when it's just for $70 toward labor. So basically you're being tricked into paying for service at Midas but the real cost is over $200 total. Your groupon goes toward the $200. What a joke. That makes no sense. What business would allow Groupon, a publicly listed billion dollar corporation, to false advertise without the local shops approval? That doesn't add up to me. And to make matters worse Groupon is notoriously difficult to contact. I was told to wait 7 days for a reply with no phone number to call someone. EDIT to Add** I spoke with other Midas locations and they honor the groupon deal so not sure what's wrong with seaford. I spoke to someone else at Seaford Midas who said they will accept the groupon so we will see tomorrow if they come through or not. Was just a customer in here when I overheard the manager I think his name was Doug, belittling a teenager inside the shop just trying to get an oil change. He had a nasty attitude and refused to help the kid. I heard him call his mom not knowing what to do and the manager yelled at him and told him to leave. It was clear to me that the manager was trying to take advantage of the young boy for extra services that he didn't need. I will never return to this scam shop again. read more

Very helpful. I needed a major exhaust system repair. I was given a quote to replace parts but advised that it would be cheaper to get it fixed at a muffler shop- which I did, and it was. Reason being they were able to patch weld areas of the pipe without replacing entire thing. read more

I had an oil change on my car on March 22nd this year. at Midas on Sunrise highway in Seaford. I chose to get the full synthetic oil to get more mileage out of it and to be better for my car's life (I always use full synthetic). I don't drive a lot so I had expected it to last me a decent amount of time, like usual from other places. On June 1st, the display on my dashboard told me that I was down to 15% oil life and needed a new oil change. I had driven less than 2,000 miles. My dash had displayed that I needed an oil change when I brought it to the Midas in Seaford so they had to have reset whatever monitor needs resetting in order for me to see anything other than that on my display. The light being on on June 1st should not have been from length of time nor triggered by my mileage. I brought my car to a mechanic I trust up in Huntington rather than go back to them because when I asked several people if they'd ever had this happen so quickly before, they warned me that places like this sometimes use recycled oil. When my mechanic changed the oil, he told me it was pitch black and it shouldn't be at this point. He told me that after changing the oil and had no profit motive in doing so because he was already getting paid to change my oil. I have gone to him in the past after being told that I needed an expensive repair by somebody local and he told me the work wasn't necessary and was able to do what was needed for less than 10% of what somebody else told me. I didn't think I needed to go all the way there just for a simple oil change, but now I know that it is worth the trip to have the peace of mind and not get ripped off again. I contacted Midas in Seaford and spoke to a manager. He tried to tell me that maybe they didn't reset my monitor, which wasn't true, or that perhaps the mechanic was just trying to get work from me, which also wasn't true. He offered me a free oil change. I am not interested in going to get an oil change from somebody who did something apparently wrong the last time. He told me he couldn't give me a refund when I said I would prefer that because I didn't bring my car in when the trouble started again. He had a point in that, however, I told him I would be happy to show him the receipt for the new oil put in that I just bought at an automotive place, I could show him a timestamp picture of my dash, and I would be happy to put them in touch with the mechanic who did the actual change. When I told him that I can't possibly be the first customer to call up with a complaint like this, he pretty much said have a nice life and hung up the phone. I did not get loud, call names or do anything other than suggest that I am probably not the first person calling up with this issue and that it is reasonable for me not wanting them to work on my car again. I will be contacting my credit card company and trying to get the charge reversed because it is clear to me that I did not get fresh new oil and a proper oil change despite choosing the full synthetic oil and paying that price for it. read more

Where should i start. Doug the store manager not a nice guy. You have to watch what you say so he does not get angry. You buy a Groupon which afterwards does not match what the explanation on the Groupon website. The Midas people then get either Angry with you if Doug is there or explain and explain that you bought something but they don't do it so you basically paid for nothing. Anyway we let that slide. Then we set up an appointment for a Transmission fluid change. We bring the car on the date of the appointment just to find out They don't have the parts to change the filter and the oil because they had to order a special tool which caused $65 dollars ($25 on amazon) and for that they have to charge you $200 more in labor than the original price the quoted. Forgive me if i am wrong but after these 2 experiences i have with them i started questioning if they actually changed the transmission fluid on the other car i originally brought to them for also from the quoted price i got charged $100 more because of extra parts and labor. So i am not mad it is actually funny how thigs work there and Doug was very nice and explained on the phone that me questioning their work means we need to part ways from now on and i should not bring my car there. Well Doug you are correct i will not :). There are plenty more places i can work with for cheaper price than you. I was just using you for the Groupons you are selling but now i know they are not what they seems and you always end up paying more lol. Thank you for your attention. read more

Went to have them check out muffler on my sons car and check back brakes. After looking at muffler they said there is no problem. One rear brake caliper was frozen so I had them change both along with rotors and pads. They were very honest and fair. saved me $$ on the labor and did quality work. I bought my 2017 toyota corolla there because I thought I had an exhaust problem. The gas mileage I've been getting is awful. I trusted them to fix the problem. I use my car to make a living and gas mileage is very important to me. I was charged $477.92 for them to fix the problem, which they claimed was due to a dirty filter and spark plugs that needed to be changed. I trusted them to do the right thing. I will never return to this store. They made a mistake that led to damage to my car, and when I approached the manager about it, they denied any fault, tried to charge me to fix it, and had very poor customer service (and apparently mechanical skills). I visited this shop at the end of July for an oil change. That's it. That's the last time anyone has opened my hood and accessed my engine, and I keep my car locked so if anyone had tried I would have known. Fast forward to about 4 weeks later when my battery light came on. I drove it to the nearest auto shop, popped the hood to get my battery checked, and discovered that my oil cap to my engine was missing, and that I had no oil in my engine at all. The engine itself was covered in oil, and the top front of my hood was warped, likely from how hot the engine had gotten without oil in it. My battery and alternator had both been destroyed, likely from the oil being spilled on it, but of course I can't absolutely prove that. I approached the store about how they had forgotten to put my oil cap on and the manager said "no we didn't. There's no way your car would have lasted a month without an oil cap, at most 2 days. Any mechanic would agree with me." I told him that the mechanic last night had said it was entirely possible for it to have lasted a month, as had the other three mechanics I had called, and his response was "well they just want to bad mouth us." He refused to even consider this may have been their fault, and that they may have made a mistake, he refused to consider rectifying it, and said they would be more than happy to look at the car and fix the current problem, even though they didn't cause it, but I would be charged for it. Why would I bring my car back to a place that had messed up once already and refused to admit fault or make it right? I had to purchase new oil, a new oil cap, and pay to uber to work for a couple of days while it was fixed, not to mention the $500 for a new alternator and battery, and the cost to tow my car home when it died on the side of the road and to tow it to a mechanic. I can't prove that the missing oil cap caused the damage, but they were the last people to touch my car, and the oil cap was present before that. It's a gross negligence of their jobs, which could have been forgiven if they had been apologetic and tried to make it right, but they had no interest in doing that. The manager I spoke to had no people skills and poor customer service, and clearly aren't attentive to details. I will come back here. read more

Very unpleasant, not reliable and unprofessional bunch of crooks!! That's all I gotta say. Went there for 2-3 hour break line replacement job and ended up 2 full days without my work truck (van) and wheel noise in two tires. They refused to even admit car didn't sound right while driving till I forced 2 fellas to test drive it with me. After loud verbal exchange they took one wheel off (i of course had to point it out to them) and removed piece of rust that fell inside the drum. The other wheel was left not fixed. Had enough of arguing with then and left. Will get this work inspected by my local shop, if their fault will be found I will dispute their cc charges. So if you wanna stay on schedule and sane, stay AWAY from this place. read more

Awful, awful, AWFUL experience!!! First, they claimed they put air in my tires when they rotated them but that the sensors weren't reading it right now. They said go drive and it will adjust. It never did adjust so I stopped and put air in my tires myself and voila!! The tires were filled. They basically lied and never did something as easy as fill my tires with air. Second, they broke a small part on my seat that adjusts the back. They tried to say it wasn't them and blamed it on me as if I wouldn't have realized it if I'd broken my own seat!! They then refused to fix what probably would have cost them $20. They were so incredibly rude about the whole experience. What TERRIBLE customer service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Especially if you're a woman like me, they'll assume you must not have a brain in your head and try to take advantage of you. read more

Took my sons car in and was given an estimate . When the care was done the estimate was over by $300. The next and last time I went i over heard one of the guys working tell the other they didn't bill enough for a job and to add something on. I was in for an oil change and get a call half hour later that I need brakes and tires which I know is bullshit because I had them checked about two weeks before. They told me my car wouldn't pass inspection because I needed new tires. I went a few blocks away to Mavis tires and guess what I didn't need tires or brakes. Drop my wife's car off at 930ish for a simple oil change. At 235 in the afternoon I have yet to find out when it will be done. They have also tried to tell me that the same car needs back breaks and that a different car I brought on another day needed struts and shocks which I found out on both occasions that neither were needed so that was a lie, so they try and rob you. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! I purchased a groupon for $45 covering a synthetic oil change for my benz. My lady was nice enough to take it in while I was at work and she was charged $130 in addition to the $45 from the groupon,, on the itemized bill all Sean did was credit the $45 i spent for the groupon towards the service? plus I was leaking oil. I went to midas to discuss and Sean was not only unhelpful but his attitude was completely unprofessional. He didnt want to deal with me saying "he had a long day". He did!? I wanted to know why he wouldnt honor his groupon and I was charged a total of 175 and he had no explanation. He said i should call corporate. I will Sean and will never allow any of my car buddys and all their wives step foot in a midas again. read more
