As a single mom, it's really important for me to find a place I can trust, and this team has always been honest, respectful, and reliable. Sal, the manager, has been especially great to work with. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and makes sure I fully understand what's going on without ever feeling pressured. They truly make me feel like they actually care about me--not just my car. Their pricing has always been the best I've found--no upselling, no surprises, just fair and transparent. After I was in an accident, I brought my SUV in because another mechanic kept missing issues. The Midas team helped me identify what needed to be checked, told me exactly what to have the other mechanic look at, and even took pictures so I had everything documented. My front tires got damaged , my mechanic replaced the tire rods , I came here for a tire alignment and they did no do it because I needed new tires , I replaced the tires and they did the alignment I paid for 3 years of free alignment's after some months the front tires got damaged again , and same problem I had to replaced the tires one more time , they did the alignment again and after some months the same problem happened , front tires git damaged again , I replaced the tires and I went to a different place to do the alignment and since then no problems at all , at Middas I was just wasting my time and my money replacing tires and they never did a good alignment, they charged for something that they do not know how to do read more

This is my third time visiting this Midas. I am blown away at their customer service, friendliness and knowledge. Each time I've visited I interacted with different employees, and they've always been outstanding as well as the men servicing my car. These men seem to actually love their jobs! They were very fair and honest too. I have never trusted anyone but the dealership with my car, but I fully trust this Midas. They're knowledgeable and not just a quick oil change place. Sal blew me away as I overheard him speaking to customers with knowing their specific vehicle off the top of his head and specific parts that the vehicles would need. I've never had to wait long periods of time, and I was always treated with respect as well as my car. Each time I've come in the shop has been very clean as well. 10/10 would recommend!! read more

I had been a customer of this business for quite some time and had always been satisfied with the service until my most recent experience. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and mentioned that my brakes were still squeaking. After completing the oil change, I was informed that the technicians had taken the vehicle on a test drive for approximately 15 minutes and were unable to reproduce the issue. I paid for the service and left. Afterward, I noticed that my average fuel economy had dropped from approximately 23 MPG to 19 MPG. This led me to believe the vehicle may have been driven much more aggressively than necessary during the test drive. At that point, I decided I would not be returning as a customer. The following day, while making a delivery from AutoZone, I happened to stop by the shop. During a brief conversation, I thanked them for the oil change and commented on the extensive test drive. I then left with no intention of returning. Shortly afterward, I received a phone call from Sal informing me that he was "parting ways" with me as a customer. This was confusing, as I had already decided not to return. The situation escalated further when I was threatened with trespassing. I later stopped by to speak with the police, was officially trespassed from the property, and was given $20 by Sal for fuel. In my view, this suggested an acknowledgment that the vehicle had been driven excessively during the test drive. Overall, I found the entire experience unprofessional and disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this business for vehicle service. read more

I had an issue putting my rear license plate on my vehicle. Tried doing it myself but it was too hard. I called around the Palatine area and went to Duke of Oil. They barely even looked at it and said they would charge me to do the work. They said the old screw needed to be cut off. Left that place and came to Midas and met Sal. He immediately started working on removing the old rusted out screw of my vehicle. It's a very hard job to get the screw out and to put a new one in. But after 15 min (WITHOUT CUTTING THE SCREW) , Sal, Chuy and their team at Midas were able to get the old screw out and put two new screws and my license plate on. To make things even better, they didn't even charge me. I barely post reviews but when a business goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service, I want to give them a shout out. Sal, Chuy and the team at Midas were amazing and I highly recommend them! I will be coming back tor sure. Went on 06/14/26 for an oil change and tire rotation. As i was checking in the counter person looked up my information on the computer he informed me that i was not allowed to get service. He contacted several managers and confirmed that i was banned! Last time i went to get an oil change and tire rotation, i noticed the next day that they never rotated my tires. i knew because i put stickers on the wheels because i know how scammy auto repair shops are. I called them and they made me waste my time to come back and get them rotated. They then informed me that the reason they hadn't rotated the tires the day before is because their company policy says they cannot rotate them because they are too worn. Why didn't they tell me this the day before ?! As far as i knew they had rotated my tires! Until i caught them not doing their job is when told me?! I was understandably upset because my tires were still good! So i was a bit strong when i talked to them about this and they were giving me the runaround so i hung up on the manager, Sal is his name. He was butthurt about a justifiably angry customer that was not being treated fairly and got hung up on. It's all good because they are price gougers. I called about a battery and they quoted me $450!!!! Got a battery at Auto Zone down the street for $250. I guess they must have enough customers to be able to turn down business for getting Sal's feelings hurt. Don't know why they think they are the only place in town as there are so many other places around that do the same thing lol. Avoid this place or you just might get banned haha! read more

I guess they're okay. Just beware they operate like you'd think these chain repair shops operate you're going to go in there for a service and they'll sell you on this "free inspection" then they're going to try to upsell you on various jobs and make it sound like your cars going to fall apart. I took my truck here when the catalytic converters were stolen off of it and they tried to sell me on a tire alignment and wiper blades on top of the 4 grand I had to already pay for the new converters and exhaust piping which I declined. So be prepare to say "NO" when you come here. read more

I went there May 4 to have my brakes looked at . They said I needed both front and bake brakes . I asked how could that be the front brakes were fixed last year . They said according to car fax it didn't say they were replaced. They informed me whoever keyed it in entered it wrong into the system . Pulling out my paper work they replaced them in oct of 2023 . 7 months the brakes go bad . Ok in the system I have to names nickname and legal . The vins the car and the last name is the same . Watch out they try to charge you for something that you don't need or the did a bad job to begin with. read more

I've tried this place several times for both oil changes and service work over the years. It always feels like I'm run through the ringer and end up getting scammed and over charged. We finally left them and started going somewhere else in town about a year ago. And lone behold, some work Midas only 1 year ago is already needing to be redone. Called about a warranty, and of course we've barely missed it - not by miles driven (we barely use this car), only by the "just over a year" mark. So they won't pay for it. Glad we wasted $400 on them and are already having to get this redone. I should also clarify that this service in particular should never have to be redone in basically the life of the car. I went here a couple of years ago for an oil change and a slow leaking tire. I felt more comfortable picking a full service place due the tire. After the oil change I was informed that my rim needed to be replaced to fix the tire. The tire last for a couple of months before it needs to be refilled. I didn't feel replacing a rim on an old car we rarely use. Move forward to this week I am needing the car a bit more so I turned into tire discount. They had the car for less than 30 minutes and found a screw in the tire and fixed it. My low rating of your business is that I asked you to help me with the tire during the oil change. Another professional organization found the problem immediately when they looked under the car. Same thing your company did.... Extremely frustrating as I paid more for the oil change to have someone i thought was full service. read more

I had my wheels aligned at a Midas shop near Chicago 5 months ago and was provided a 6-month warranty, which, according to the receipt is supposed to be honored at any Midas shop nationwide. When my steering began to feel a bit skewed, I took my vehicle to Midas in Palatine, explained the issue to the rep, showed him my receipt and he booked me for an alignment check under warranty. When I arrived the following week, I was met by the owner/manager and he immediately gave me the "Fifth Degree" as to the problem and where I had the car serviced originally. I showed him my receipt for the work and pointed out the fine print at the bottom where it explicitly states that warranty service can be performed at any Midas dealer. He refused to honor this policy, claiming that each Midas shop has its own warranty and after telephoning the Midas shop who did the work, told me I would have to take my car back there. Two wasted trips and a lot of aggravation. Avoid Midas Palatine if you can. read more

***LADIES BEWARE!!! DISHONEST, SCARE SELLING PRACTICES AND THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU*** I'm a 34 y/o and brought my 2012 civic in for them to change the oil. Granted, I was a little overdue and it did smell like burning oil but she's an older car with 180,000 miles so that doesn't surprise me. There was no massive leak or anything, no puddle on my driveway and she drove fine. I LOVE my car. I decided to wait for the repairs and I told Paul that I was going to grab a bite and come back. My phone happened to die while I walked over to Starbucks so when I returned about a half hour later, Paul was distressed and told me he tried to reach me. He left me a frantic voicemail stating my oil was leaking all over their shop and legally he wasn't supposed to finish as it was a liability but couldn't get ahold of me so he finished it. He explained that I had an oil leak, and a bad one. He advised me it was time to get rid of the car and quoted me $6,100 worth of repairs as my belts, hoses, transmission fluid, struts, brakes, suspension, wiper blades and all 4 "absolutely bald" tires needed to be replaced. He made me fear driving the car from everything they said was wrong with it. Driving the car home, it pulled off the Midas parking lot just fine. Half way down 53, about 6 miles away, a loud rattling started and I thought a belt snapped or something. It got worse the faster I went so I pulled onto the shoulder and popped my hood to find nothing wrong. I know my way around a car so I looked under the car to find the heat shield had been torn on one side and the bolt securing it had fallen out. I got the car to my parents house which was around the corner and parked it on the street until I could get someone to look at it. I was terrified to drive it. I checked the oil to see if it was leaking and in fact the dip stick was completely dry. There was no oil in there. So I put a couple quarts in and drove it to my family's guy. He quoted me $750 for a gasket to be replaced under the car. The dipstick wasn't reading the oil so he had to drain it as it was overfilled. He fixed it and I drove it home just fine. I saved the quote of services and brought it to my mechanic. He told me they absolutely tried to swindle me for $5500. Shame on you Paul. Shame on you Midas. When I went to oreilly auto Parts to purchase the oil, the cashier asked where I went and when I said Midas, he scoffed and said no wonder. He proceeded to share a nightmare story with me as well. Try doing some honest work instead of trying to take advantage of a woman. read more

I came in here because I need an oil change and one of the tires to be filled with air. They told me it would take close to 2 hours so I said fine just an oil change I only need an oil change when do you guys have an open spot so I can come in wait for a little bit and beyond my way the gentleman said the oil change process takes a little over an hour. Are you kidding me? I can change the oil in spark plugs and filter in less than 45 minutes! No thanks. read more

He kept trying to sell me different services and was trying to scare me about what would happen when I refused. If they are telling you that you need service and it doesn't seem like there is an issue, get a second opinion!! I was in here a couple of months ago for an oil change and they asked if they could check my brakes, mind you, I had no issues. I gave them permission to check them and they told me they needed to be replaced. I advised that I would have my uncle do the repair since he is a mechanic and I would see him over the holiday. Well I didn't get a chance for him to look at them, my car was stopping fine, so I continued on. Since I needed new tires so I went to firestone for them to replace the tires as well as do the oil change and check the brakes. The brakes were at 5/6. Brakes don't need replacing until it is 2/3. I am unbelievably disgusted with this place. Never again!!!! Don't get caught up in their scams. read more

I recently went here to get my car examined because my low tire light was on. I had filled my tires two times in the two weeks before going to Midas and the one tire was at 22 the first time I filled it, when it's supposed to be at 35, so I knew something was wrong. They drove it around the lot once, said the tire light wasn't on, and sent me on my way after 5 mins. I went straight to Toyota afterwards to have them take a look and, as I thought, there was a nail in my tire! If the people at Midas had actually examined my tires at all they would have seen that no problem. Needless to say I will not be going back to Midas. read more

Took my car in for new breaks & had my 50,000 mile service done here. I got my car back with busted calipers that were out of place, a heat cap under my hood was left off, and my transmission started acting up. They were pleasant when I took it back for new calipers that they did cover. However, when I picked up my car my drivers side door was knocked out of alignment. Sure enough took it back & they fixed that. Then my transmission failed. Thankfully my car is covered under warranty. I reckon you don't take your car here. read more

After a horrible experience with the NTB next door I came over desperate at about 5pm on a Thursday evening. I needed an oil change and I wanted them to add a little air to one of my tires as the low pressure sensor had gone off. I was greeted within 2 minutes of coming in the door and the assistant manager told me he could squeeze me in. It took maybe 25 minutes for them to do the entire job and he even accepted a competitors coupon. After having such an excellent experience here I have made this my go-to shop for all minor services. I've been back one other time for an oil change and so long as you make an appointment they get you in and out fairly quickly. They made a horrible experience at NTB turn into an excellent one.
