Went there today in need of some serious help with my brakes and I had the pleasure of working with Paul. I explained the situation of my brakes and the horrible "grinding" noise and that money was tight and just now had the chance to get in and needed the best possible solution for the lowest price. Paul made me feel 100% comfortable and explained what worked was needed and extended what discount were available. I had my two young kids with me and he was so accommodating offering snacks, water and even a quarter to my daughter for some candy from the vending machine. This is my first time buying a car (used car) and I know absolutely nothing about cars. My friend and I took the car to Midas bc it's the closest mechanic next to the dealer. Everybody works there are very professional and honest. They told us (including the dealer who's trying to sell me the car) good and bad things about the car and how much it worth and how much of work it will need to be done. And they didn't charge me anything for it. If I ever get a car, I think that's the place that I trust and will go back to. read more

Pleased with service. Quick, efficient, and pretty thorough "once-over" with my oil change. Offered to rotate my tires but told me that they should be okay for a couple hundred more miles before they need a rotation. Ok so after reading some of the reviews on here I was a bit hesitant to bring my car here but I am so glad I did. Mike, the store manager, was great. He explained what was wrong with my car and what I could do to prevent future damage or problems. Even when I had left the shop my car was tweaking and the sound in my car wasn't working. I called Mike and he said "bring it back and I'll take a look at it" go figure as soon as Mike turned the car on it was working just fine. Great customer service. Ordered a groupon for an oil change! Had to make an appointment and they are busy but definitely worth waiting a week. The staff is extremely warm and friendly. They do a complete full point inspection and aren't pushy on air filters and trying to make more money. Honest and respectable business and you can watch your car from the waiting area which is big, and clean. I will be getting my oil changed here from now on, full point inspection and tire rotation! Took in our Honda CRV to get our rear brakes done since they were starting to make noise and at almost 60K miles figured they would need to be replaced. I dropped off the car and a few minutes later got a call from Nick explaining that the Calipers were rusted and might need to be replaced but they would not know until they removed them if they would be able to use them again or need to replace them. After a few hours I got a call from Nick letting me know that they were able to save the calipers and use them again saving us $300! They recommended $600 worth of repairs "that we needed" including new brakes. We took the car to an independent mechanic for a second opinion and he said the car was in great shape and did not need anything including brakes for another 15-20,000 miles. Just get a second opinion if they recommend any additional work. That's all I'm saying! read more

Came to a intersection stop near this shop and my 2007 Mercury Gran Marquis just stopped running. A tow truck showed up and took me to a gas station where it was determined that something other than an empty tank was causing the problem. This Midas shop was next door and after conversations with Nick the manager, who told me that it was probably a fuel pump and that the inspection was going to be $384 and a fuel pump was less than $200. I am from Tucson and was stranded. A motel was right across the street. Hopefully this was going to be nothing more than a fuel line filter at about one hundred dollars. I recieved the call from Nick who informed me that the cost of the fuel pump was $624 plus the $384 and the fuel pump for another $85. Total bill over $1,000. When I expressed my shock I was told by Nick that I could take the car somewhere else If I wished by paying the $384. Checking with the Dealer, right around the corner from Midas, I could have had the same done for less. The price of the fuel pump from the dealer is around $450. Stay away from these people. read more

I first went to another shop to get my oil leak checked, and they told me it was the rack and pinion replacement for $1200. I went to Midas for a second opinion since they didn't charge for a quick look at the leak, and they found the source of the problem which is different than what the shop found, and I could see it for myself which in no doubt this was the source, for $300. I visited Midas at the Autoplex Loop on 2/28 to have a leaky tire repaired. And I have to say I was really impressed with the customer service at this location. The store manager Mike and his whole staff did a terrific job of fixing my issue and getting me on my way quickly. Came to Midas to figure out what was wrong with my car. They first said they ran test and that it was the starter. Then they called and said it was the engine and they had ran more test and the test showed that there was no oil in our car. We decided it was worth it and talked to another mechanic that could do it cheaper than what they quoted us. They didn't even have any diagnostic paper work showing us what's wrong with our car which has never happened with any other company. Turns out nothing was wrong with our engine and that the oil was full. The other mechanic fixed it in one day with no problem. Never coming here again. Completely unreliable. read more

Once again, I am blow away by the impeccable service provided to me by the Manager Nick and his team. I was a few miles away from their shop when my car's Check engine light popped on and my whole car started shaking! I was terrified and scared to drive it, but without a second thought I took it directly to "my guys" at Midas. I didn't have an appointment, but they got me in ASAP and assured me they'd have me taken care of same day! It turned out that my car's problem needed a little investigating, which Nick did with a smile on his face. He was patient and offered me options that put my mind at rest. He offered to set me up with a rental for a couple hours so that I could run errands, but luckily I live so close I was able to go home and wait for it to be complete. Before I left the shop to wait at home, I had asked about how to repair paint chips on my car since I didn't know how that worked. Not only did Nick let me know how easy it was to touch up... but HE DID IT FOR ME! Within the time it took them to fix my vehicle (I ended up needing a few things done) he had ordered the touch up paint and actually touched up all of the little scuffs and dings that I had! Took it through the car was also if they hadn't done enough! I was practically in tears when I picked up my car I was SO HAPPY! I can't thank their team enough for taking care of me, especially when I was stressed! I will be a returning customer for as long as I live in AZ! Way to go guys!! read more

I made an appointment Thursday night for a check engine light and AC issue for Friday morning. Drop off went great and Nick Maselli soon called to let me know the issues, offered a little discount on parts and fixed my car up perfectly! Pick up went a little different than anticipated, I have the Midas Credit Card but I didn't have my actual card to pay, so I had to call into Synchrony Financial to get my account number to pay. After almost half an hour on the phone and Synchrony refusing to give me MY account number, Nick spent time on the phone verifying merchant information to get them to release my account number so I could pay. So while Synchrony wasn't great to work with, Nick at Midas was a lifesaver! read more

Nick is really confident in his technicians and his business. I went for a oil change came home one Ct of oil was running down my drive way . Looked under the vehicle the new filter was covered in oil. Had to get up under the car and turn it my self and these were pretty big clockwise turns . He offered to fix the issue and put more oil in the vehicle and a free oil change? 1st of all the problem was fixed thank goodness it was or my motor would have locked up . And I had already added the additional oil which wasn't much thank goodness. So I am guessing this next thing is just a coincidence my thermostat housing blew out two weeks later after they did the coolant flush. Literally no coolant was in the vehicle it could have ran super hot. Went to corporate thought they would route me to a district guy or something. Nick called from the shop which I knew he would defend the situation because that is his job. The fact that they could have been liable for replacing my entire motor in my car didn't really resonate with him I guess . I saved that from happening because obviously I know a little about cars. And didn't want to be inconvenienced with trying to find rides. In the end all I got was the same thing as the oil filter a defense talk and no money back . He basically told me they used no pressure when flushing the coolant ? That they use a additive which I find very interesting . So if you are not flushing then what am I paying for I could have drained the fluid myself . My mechanic felt that the pressure from what ever they did caused it to possibly happen. In the end I think this will be my last rodeo two services and in the end I had to go behind them on both . Not sure about the thermostat but in the end no way to prove it .If they had of handled it better I wouldn't be writing this review . I will thank him for replacing my $ 11 oil plug last visit after I noticed the leak again . Not happy with customer service lying to me saying a district person was going to contact me. I guess I should have let the motor go bone dry ! This way I could have gotten 4K or possibly a new car instead of just asking for all my money back. Cause if a $ 100 means that much to them then they can keep it . This is a honest review not trying down talk . But in the end the two services I feel I didn't receive I had to do the work myself. read more

If I could give Zero stars I would. We took our car to Midas (6902 E. Southern Ave. Tempe Az 85202). Long story short we had issues with something they broke as they were working on the vehicle then at the time they blamed us for it breaking and wanted to charge for repair work but give us the part for free. No joke that was there deal to us about how they were going to fix things. That was back on 5/31/17. During that time we told them You broke it you repair it and at the time they finally said ok we will repair it after a long argument about it. Yesterday the car engine light came on and was reading a diagnostic code P011 No oil light was on an oil was changed 5/31/17 . So I called warranty to see if it was covered they said yes it's covered part of the engine. Gave me a dealership Freeway Cheverolet 1150 N. 54th Street Chandler Az 85226. So I call only to be told the car can't come in tonight and there are no loner vehicles but tomorrow morning loaner vehicles are first come first serve. Well vehicle was there at opening time but there were no loaner cars available. My husband explained the code reading they knew what they were looking at and knew midis did previous work. However, at no point were we told Did you know this would be covered at Midis because Freeway Cheverolet/Scott P. are saying this repair needed to be done because the oil filter was loose on adapter causing this repair and that in the future this might cost you your extended warranty on your vehicle even though it wasn't saying that it's oil needed to be replaced supposedly there was lil to no oil in the vehicle and that the car made a ping noise this could cost you repairs in the future but it should be fine (operative word here should be). Well none of this was ok and then I was told go to midis maybe they can reimburse the repair because they worked on it last and it's there fault. So, I go to Midis . I am told by Nick M. that's not how any of this works and the work would have been covered the dealership should have contacted us. I explained why I didn't take the car there 1st because of what occurred last time. He looked at the receipt it's itemized and told me they ripped you off(Had I had this Mnger last time I probably would have stayed with that Midas because he took the time to explain exactly what they would have done to fix the problem and why warranty was supposed to be used but, if I can't trust the mechanic because of what happened last time,then I still won't get my car done there. He called the dealership and got into a argument with the service person who handled the repair and told him point blank you are ripping the customer off. I go back to the dealership and they then verify what's covered on my vehicle and we're told diagnostic and leaking oil filter are not covered and your vehicle had Very lil oil even though the oil Light never came on an the car is parked in specific parking an there is no oil leak. We have the Gold plan Extended warranty and diagnosis of vehicle says it's covered. Needless to say neither place resolved my issues nor gave me a refund Both have lost my business period. An I was given someone else's keys which I returned in the morning. I will not be returning to either location for my vehicle repairs and I will never refer anyone there either An I will be forwarding my complaint to bbb. read more

They really shouldn't have glass windows where customers can watch the employees working on the cars. I say this because I arrived at my 12 PM appointment a couple minutes early, checked in and provided my car keys to receive a simple oil change. Once checked in, every single worker I could visibly see were all sitting around smoking cigarettes inside of the shop. There weren't any vehicles being worked on, they were all just standing/sitting around. I watched the younger gentleman finish his cig 15 minutes AFTER my appointment time, then proceeded to go bring my car in. They discovered I had a small gas leak in the rear end of my car and showed me and told me what needed to be done. I told them I could have my boyfriend fix it instead, but the front desk receptionist called to see if they had the parts to fix it and how much it would be. While she was on the phone doing that, the guy working on my vehicle left and went to the gas station and came back with Arizona iced teas for everyone instead of finishing the oil change.. I've been here for over an hour when I can visibly tell my car was only worked on for less than 30 minutes... not only that, but once finished, I sat for another 10 minutes waiting for someone to tell me I was good to go and that I could leave. The service is legit and also inexpensive. My original dealer tried to charge me 119 for a new alignment and charge me for a brand new wheel . This is by far the worst possible customer service I have ever seen. I go in because my car does is not accelerating correctly. I tell them I have to rev up my car to 4 or 5000 rpm for it to even move when I come to an complete stop. They take my keys, do the diagnostics and tell me it's this code and that all these different things need to be done to get my car running back to normal. I specifically ask will this FIX the problem. The manager told me that this will fix the problem. I tell them to do the work which totaled out to be a little shy of $800 dollars. I leave the shop and the same problem I had been having is not fixed. This work was done Wednesday afternoon. I worked all the way through until Saturday that week and by the time I got over to Tempe that Saturday, the shop was closed. I called that following Monday afternoon and told them that the problem I had brung my car in for was not fixed and they told me to bring it back in to run more diagnostics. I bring my car in Tuesday morning after working a 12 hour night shift and I am sitting in their waiting room for a total of 7 hours due to waiting for parts and installation. I was told it was my o2 sensor burning out and that's why my car was failing to accelerate. The install then took about an hour to finish. After the install was finished, the manager then stated that what he did and how much the parts had cost. He told me my o2 sensors were burned out and they changed the and then charged me another 672.00 on top of the almost 800 that was suppose to fix the problem initially. When I took my car in today, he showed me the code they were getting from the machine and he showed me all of the could be causes that was making my car drive the way it was. He said they had already changed all of the other things so the only thing they could think it would be was the o2 sensor. I am pissed because you get a number of codes and the one thing you didn't do the first time I was here was check and make sure my o2 sensors were working correctly? That takes about 5 minutes to take the machine and check, but you tell me all these other problems are wrong that are pretty pricey and then try to make it seem like your doing me a favor. I am outraged by this whole experience because I don't just have 1500 laying around to be paying to a finance company and I feel like this all should of been handled in my first visit to the business. I specifically asked if that would fix the problem and I was told yes. Then I have to waste more of my time and money to make a second trip to these so called professional mechanics. I will definitely not be returning to these scam artists. read more
