Took my car in for a radiator fluid leak and overall inspection. Thermostat and a seal was replaced ever since my car shakes and makes a bubbling sound also my reservoir was empty the next day . Staff told me after the change gravity used the rest and they refilled it I've never heard that before. Cost almost a thousand and now it will cost more to have the radiator flushed again at a different shop because I don't trust the work. On the inspection I was told I need 4k in repairs and my tire was loose . I took it to another shop and they found a bolt that was hand tightened and stripped out , my wheel was close to falling off and was lucky I took it to them . They replaced the bolt and my steering is fine . I'm super upset this wasn't caught by midas and was told I needed thousands in repairs . read more

I put a LOT of miles on my car each month, so having an honest, to-the-point mechanic is CRITICAL. These guys got me out of a bind on many occasions. Each and every time these techs were able to provide a diagnoses, a quote and a thorough review of my car's condition. Always In a timely manner. I never felt i was being taken advantage of, or overcharged. Javier is your guy. He's THE guy. Anytime i needed service I would ask for him, or how he was doing if he wasn't there. He's a good guy and a good worker who works hard and is to-the-point. Very knowledgeable too. I learned a couple things about my vehicle and the trade while talking with him. It should be apparent to anyone that he's been in the trade for quite some time. He knows what he's doing. On most occasions, Javier was the manager on duty when I came in. He always saw to it that my car was serviced properly, and that any issues were brought to my attention. He made sure i was aware of what i was paying for and went the extra mile to ensure i understood what condition my car was in. The waiting area is small and the parking is a bit difficult as getting in and out of the lot is a pain. I have no idea how this place has good reviews. I have had nothing but issue after issue and there is never any accountability taken by staff. Repairs are shoddy and hastily done and I have NEVER left without having an issue come up again right after leaving. I have multiple bad experiences that I could reference, and I don't know why I kept going back to them, I guess I was giving them the benefit of the doubt ‍ Most recently, I took my car in for a check engine light. They called me and told me that both o2 sensors needed replaced. The front driver side had been replaced not even 2 months earlier but they were trying to charge me to have them both replaced. $800 later they said it was all good. I drove my car 10 minutes back to work, all seemed fine. On my way home from work about 5 minutes into driving the check engine light came back on again. I had to take it to another shop who did a much more thorough diagnostic and discovered the issue was the catalytic converter needing replaced. This was the last time I had planned to use Midas. Then two of my tires went out. Midas replaced all 4 tires 11 months prior. We called as they should have been under warranty, they claimed to have absolutely no information about putting tires on my car. After arguing back and forth with them and digging for an 11 month old receipt or bank charge, I just said screw it and ended up spending $400 at a different place for 2 brand new tires to replace the ones that were not even a year old. Overall, Midas has cost me more money than anything and has fixed absolutely nothing. read more

Took my car in because I had a blown shock. They replaced the 2 front shocks for $1,200. But when I got it back the alignment was so bad that I have ruined both front tires. When I called them about it they said I need new tie rods for ANOTHER $1,200. But it was fine when I brought it in. I believe these guys are either crooks or incompetent. I've been going to this location for about two years now and the guys here have been extremely patient when working with my lovely Nissan Rogue. (Good news, I have a new car). Which is so hard to find when you desperately need a repair done and you are on a budget. These guys will take care of you like you are family. After so many bad experiences with other shops I don't trust to bring my car anywhere else. Nick is always so professional. Javier is an amazing problem solver and does what he can to get you back on the road. Brandon one of the mechanics is one of the kindest guys I've met who pays attention to detail and takes pride in his work. I had a crazy thing happen this weekend. Key fob battery went out and it set off everything possible in the car. Horn, lights, blinker and anything else that could go on. I changed the battery, but because everything was on so long, fuses started to go out. My horn stopped working. Not sure what to do it was suggested that I go to Midas on Colorado. WELL, LET ME TELL YOU, I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO WELL. THE MANAGER INSTRUCTED THE TECH TO GO CHECK IT OUT! It was the fuse for the horn. The tech replaced the fuse and all was well! He is pretty lazy and loves being on his phone..and the new clerk is super nice, however, when I came in for an oil change I got quoted for 2 new tires at X cost, when I care for the appointment they didn't have the tires, and she quoted me at almost double the cost..what? Javier is kick ass and I hope he never leaves this location, I've been screwed by big names like Midas before, I actually swore I'd never bring my vehicle back to this location after a different manager was in charge. One day, I had no choice and met Javier, he's helped me after a Jiffy lube location had carelessly broke the oil housing unit in my vehicle, he told me what happened ran tests to be sure and showed me the underneath of my vehicle and pointed out exactly what the problem was. I had no other form of transportation and had to bring my vehicle in to this location on a Sunday, Javier got the part in and fixed, in two days, he also helped me to call the shop that caused the damage. Just above and beyond. At one point I had replaced a windshield arm and of course during a snowstorm I thought it failed, I called on a wim after work and Javier answered, he said just bring it in it's probably just loose, mind you it was 30 minutes til closing not even a mom and pop shop could have gotten me fixed and out the door in the time it took Brandon to take a look and fix the issue..I was out with a clean windshield and able to see clear and drive in under 10 minutes. Everyone hates car issues and fear the worst with automotive repairs. Javier is honest, friendly, & isn't after the dollar. As a mother that doesn't have any family near to depend on he & staff make me feel welcomed & taken care of. I appreciate all you have done for me & my vehicle guys! This place was exactly as bad as the most recent review made it sound, The battery indicator light in my 05 Honda Accord came on and I brought my car to Midas for inspection. I did a little research on this indicator before taking it to Midas and found out that it means that the alternator is not charging the battery. Midas confirmed that the alternator was bad but they also tried to up-sell me a new battery as well. I told the 'technician' that the battery had been replaced within the last six months and asked if the bad alternator could be the cause for a "bad" battery reading. He still insisted that I purchase a new battery which could cost up to $100. The total to install and replace the alternator was $380 ($480 w/battery)! One star for the free battery inspection. Since $480 was way out of my budget, I searched for and found a great technician on Yelp at Andy's Automotive (http://www.yelp.com/biz/andys-automotive-westminster) about 6 miles away. He only charged $55 for labor and I purchased a brand new alternator from Advance Auto Parts for $120 and the technician also confirmed that the battery works fine. It took a King Soopers coupon to get me to Midas, but I'll keep coming back because they were professional, courteous, on time and didn't try to push any additional services. So as far as oil changes go, great. I had a coupon for 20 bucks from their website, so the price was right. As far as radiator flushes go, everything was lovely there as well. Got another coupon for 10 dollars off, so the total on that was 70 dollars. Very solid price. Between the 2 services it took about an hour and half, which was a little more than I was hoping for but if you just drop your car off and do something else, the amount of time it takes doesn't matter much. Where I have issues is the "and also you might want to..." portion that they seemed to give every customer. For me, "and also you might want to..." ended up being a report on the rust on the underbody of my car (it's from michigan and 8 years old), a radiator cap, and a tire that somehow got a 'huge gash' in it from my house to the shop. Now, I'm not accusing them of doing anything to my tire, at all. I just hate the fact that whenever a shop comes into the picture one thing turns into other things. Call my cynical, suspicious, or a plain out dick, those are all probably true at times. The radiator cap was 8 dollars, sure, throw it on there, no problem. The tire? The cheapest he had was 85 dollars plus mounting. No thank you. Discount can get me something used for a bit cheaper. I don't want this to seem super negative, because for the services I wanted them to perform, they did the job. I just hate sitting in the lobby and hearing them say "you also should take a look at this because it needs to get replaced soon and its gonna cost about 200-300 dollars" to every customer that walks through the door. read more

Took my jeep in last Saturday for Standard oil change and tire rotation. I also needed a tire patched. When I picked up my jeep I asked where the patched tire had been rotated to so I knew which tire to watch. Later in the week I noticed the patched tire hadn't been rotated meaning they charged me for rotating my tires, told me they had when I reality they hadn't. When I went in to address this they showed no concern for the fraudulent behavior. They offered to rotate to k the tires but were unapologetic as if this just happens. So i acquired a $19.99 coupon for an oil change and tire rotation and took advantage of it. Graham was very helpful and nice and had wonderful customer service. The only reason why I am giving Midas a 2 star is because the guy who working on my car didn't rotate my tires!! He literally unscrewed the bolts and left them on in the original spot. Then when Graham asked him, he said yes he rotated them. What a joke. I had better service at Brakes Plus and the workers did their job. read more

Caution! Went in with a dead battery and they also told me that I needed an alternator. They quoted just under $900 for both. Battery was old so I knew it had to be replaced but I didn't believe that the alternator was bad and that price is way too high. Told them to just replace the battery. Left Midas and immediately went to another place to have alternator checked, no problem at all with alternator. Just to be sure, I waited 2 days and took it in to a different place. They tested entire electrical system and found nothing wrong. Thornton Midas is one of those places you hear about that performs unneeded repairs. Stsy.away! read more

Since I purchased my 2010 Honda Accord I have taken it to auto mechanics for regular oil changes. 07/11/2019: During my visit on 7/11/2019 at Honda dealership for an oil changes (Mileage at 141374). I was informed by dealer: "Oil pan threads stripped due to the wrong oil plug and let the previous service know". 03/25/2019: My wife brought our 2010 Honda Accord to Midas for an oil change on 3/25/2019 and completed around 4:05PM. When I got back home from work around 6:30PM and noticed fresh oil stain on the drive way after car park there for about 2 hours. This never happened to our Honda Accord before. I told my wife this is not normal and need to take car back to Midas to fix this. My thought was oil plug put in wrong position which only need to unscrew and screw it back to oil pan. 03/26/2019: My wife brought car back to Midas early morning next day and drove home about 15 minutes after Midas mechanic person told her oil dripped is fixed. 03/27/2019: Oil still dripped on drive way so my wife took car back to Midas in the next morning (03/27/2019). We thought that no other issues after oil dripped fixed 07/12/2019: On 7/12/2019 my wife took my car back to Midas and let them know about what auto dealer found: "Oil pan threads stripped due to the wrong oil plug caused it to be stripped. Let service know". Hayden, assistant manager from Midas, told my wife to come back 5PM next day to see Katelynn, Store manager. 07/13/2019: We came to Midas around 5PM to see Katelynn. However, Katelynn was not there. So I start to talked to Hayden about "Oil pan threads stripped due to the wrong oil plug" Hayden argued us that Midas noticed down on the 3/25/2019 (Millage at 138661) invoice: "drain plug went in drain pan rough rec new oil pan in the next couple of oil changes" which Midas did not verbally let us know on that day (03/25/2019). We never had oil pan threads stripped that caused oil dripped before on our 2010 Honda Accord. I let Hayden know that Midas also did oil changes for this car previously on 8/17/2018 (Millage at 135736) without any notice about oil pan thread stripped. Hayden told us we should get phone call from Mindy, Midas district manager next Monday morning (07/15/2019). 07/15/2019: I receive no phone call from Midas at all (Mindy, district manager) 07/16/2019: Called Midas in the morning at phone 303-280-1131 and talked to Hayden manager (maybe Katelynn). She told me to bring car back on next day and Midas will take care of the issue, replace oil pan. 07/17/2019: My wife take car back in the morning of 07/17/2019 for oil pan replacement. However, we get the message from Midas that we have to pay for this. I called back and talked to Hayden, assistant manager, who said I should expect call from his manager soon. I told my wife pick up the car from Midas after I talked to Midas manager but again Midas manager did not call me at all. 07/18/2019: I called Hayden and said that I did not receive any phone call from his manager. He said his manager was busy whole day in the meeting Is this the way Midas doing business? Walked away issue and did not care to call customer. read more

I've been taking my vehicles to Midas for at least five years now on 120th by Kohl's. Tony is one of the mechanics at this location and has been our mechanic that works on our cars. I highly recommend Tony if you need your car worked on. The guy is honest and knows what he's doing. He only recommends what needs to be done and what you might need done in the future. I think he agreed only because they were charging me $53 to say, "We can't work with on Volvo computers, you have to take it to the dealer.". Also something they should have been up front about. Why two stars you say? Because when I explained to the guys about being a single mom on disability, they worked with me despite company policy. They got my window shut...just not repaired. If I could leave 0/5 stars I would. We took our Toyota Corolla in to get a brake change. After we got our car back, the brakes were making this horrible grinding noise. We took it back and they proceeded to tell us it was just dust and dirt and dust in between the brake pads. We said okay and we took it to the car wash and sprayed as much water as we could on the brakes. A week later it was still grinding. We took it back and asked them if they could drive it and then the manager said he could hear it and he had to reorder different brakes because they said "we put the brakes in wrong" and blamed it on the brakes brand being "recalled." Anyways they fixed it and replaced them again. Then a month later we took our car in for some other work and when this place did their inspection they said the rear brakes were so dirty they said it was putting pressure on the front brakes and wearing them out faster. read more

I have been a long-time Midas customer, and they have always taken great care of my car. I visited this site for the first time today, and was promptly and politely greeted. My car has 145k miles on it and has never had exhaust work done to it, so when I came in asking them to fix excessive exhaust noise, I was prepared to shell out hundreds of dollars. Instead, they determined it to be a bad gasket and fixed it without charge after putting in about 30 minutes of labor. When we moved to the area, we found a coupon for Midas and used it at this location. They did a great job on the oil change and were pretty helpful in giving us an idea of what kind of preventative maintenance we should look at over the next year or so. We recently added a new (used) vehicle to the family and have had it at Midas four times now. While they've been able to diagnose various issues we've had, I've begun to feel like they're looking at our Jeep like a cash cow. Every time it goes in, we're looking at $300-$800. This last time was the battery and we were quoted almost $400 for a new battery, terminal ends, and battery mount. I paid the $110 diagnostic fee, drove it right next door to Advance Auto Parts and they installed a new battery and changed my terminal ends out for me for less than $130. I really like the guys here and they seemed pretty genuine when we first started coming around, but I have a serious issue with a $380 quote to essentially replace a battery. I'm hoping we don't experience this kind of inflation the next time we end up in the shop. read more

I recently took my car to Midas to have it looked at as my car was smoking and my steering wheel seized up and I had to really crank it, to be able to turn my steering wheel. The next day I was surprised to hear that it would cost $1,290 to have my power steering pump replaced!!! I found a privately owned mechanic shop, that said Midas was way over charging me for the part, as well as added other things that technically didn't need to be replaced however it was all in the same area as my power steering pump. Apparently big named shops are notorious for doing up-charging people. From now on, I am taking my care to privately owned mechanic that will charge fair prices, and who has a good reputation.
