He was practically beaming about his establishment and, tragically, informed me I'd just missed the last of the homemade baklava. The disappointment was real. We ordered two items that would change my worldview: the Jalapeño Smash Burger and the Falafel Sandwich. First up: the burger. A double for a cool $8 à la carte! I was not prepared for this flavor explosion. What sets it apart is the seasoning--a symphony of black pepper and savory spices that hit just right. The American cheese was melted into perfection, creating a beautiful orange cascade over perfectly sautéed onions and jalapeños. A sturdy but soft brioche bun heroically contained all the juicy chaos. Seriously, this smash burger is better than some places that have "burger" in their name. Then, the falafel sandwich--a fresh, flavorful masterpiece. It features freshly baked, airy pita bread, ground chickpea falafel, crisp veggies, and their legendary house-made green sauce (which tastes like a cilantro-garlic party in my mouth).
