This restaurant had just reopened after the hurricane damage . It looked new. It does get busy so reservations recommended. Everything tasted great especially the coconut shrimp. The filet was cooked to perfection and the fish was delicious. My favorite part was their key lime pie. It was upside down and layered. Good selection of wine with decent prices. Great dinner at Middle Grounds Grill last night. The seafood stew had good flavor. We appreciated that the cesaer salad was lightly dressed, although the dressing could've used a bit more flavor. (Perhaps a lemon wedge would've done the trick) At the waiters recommendation, I had the grouper. It was delicious. Great nut crust, perfectly cooked, and it paired nicely with the mango sauce. He had the scallops, which were good. We shared the pineapple upside down cake. The server was good. He admitted to not knowing much about wine, which became obvious when he asked to refill our glasses and then emptied the bottle (which still had over 1/2 of the wine in it) into our glasses. read more

Very good experience. On vacation for Valentines Day. Made reservations months ago. Courtney was a pleasant efficient member of staff with good suggestions on our choices. Had delicious filet mignon and strip steak. Fantastic peanut butter Cake. Only issue would be the high noise Ievel. We were seated across from a large (12) group. But even after they left it was still very loud. If we get back to Treasure Island again we might go back to Middle Grounds Grill. read more

Service was fine but the food was TERRIBLE The mahi special was overcooked and dry. The portion was surprisingly small. The crawfish étouffée was horrible crawfish were unrecognizable and the roux was disgusting and when plated and brought to the table was not included in the dish and had to be brought back to the table in a small side plate. The polenta was bland and all this at a cost of $39.00 which would be acceptable if prepared with culinary competency. The only reason I consumed this dish was because I had been fasting and was starving which made the experience that more unbelievable. Great seafood!! Great service! I got the Gulf catch, which was grouper. It was grilled and delicious. My husband got the filet with Oscar topping. Omg best thing we've ever ate! Kirsten was out server she was awesome!! We ordered two apps because we couldn't pick just one and she staggered everything so we didn't have a bunch of food at once. It was perfect. The crab cake was awesome and the blue crab stuffed portabella was much bigger than expected. Can't wait to visit again. Mainly leaving this review for myself so I can remember what to order next time lol! We went right at 430 on a Tuesday and didn't have reservations but they filled up fast. I went for dinner with my sister while on vacation. It is a classic steak-and-seafood restaurant with dark decor and dim lighting. We were in summery dresses, deciding it was going to be our one nice dinner out; but others were dressed more casually, including in shorts. The menu had plenty of options. It was with much hesitation that we chose to try Middle Grounds since there was not many options on the menu attractive to us. We started with the tuna bites which were 5 pieces of tuna on crackers? I think? With a red sauce (not sure what it was but it was very spicy!) I enjoyed the tuna, hubby not so much. I decided on the grilled octopus salad and hubby had the seafood fusilli. The octopus was served over chilled grilled veggies with the charred octopus on the side. I enjoyed the salad, hubby not so much. He ordered the seafood fusilli which included 4 mussels and 3 shrimp but the fish pieces were very small as there were very few of them. The pasta was over-peppered with black pepper which was disappointing because the flavor was good other than that. Scallops were the size of a dime! This wasn't a typical pasta dish were you have an over abundance of pasta. Hubby left hungry. Kelly our server was very attentive and pleasant and made the experience better. The decor was appealing which is surprising based on the exterior. We will not be returning. read more

Noted for their seafood and steaks, they do not disappoint. I do suggest making reservations if you plan on going. They are always very busy. But from the valet, the hostess or the way staff, everyone is very friendly. Tonight we had the Brie appetizer which was delicious. We also had the filet mignon, a panko crusted chicken and the blackened grouper. Everything was cooked to perfection. In my personal opinion, this is the best place to get grouper.
