Well looks like I'm on the road again, and this time I'm hunkered down in North Georgia overseeing operations for the food service at one of the hospitals in Demorest GA. (the only one I guess) Right off the bat I went to Yelp to see what's good in the area and this place popped up, not only it was close to the hotel but a 4 star rating seems like what I wanted. Simple food & decent service. I had the Atlanta burger, which had grilled peaches and smoky bbq sauce with provolone and grilled onions. I don't really eat red meat and I ordered the turkey version, I definitely didn't miss anything. They also have a variety of fries and a bunch other sides (fried and some not) The burger was delivered quick so it was very hot, the fries not so much. The flavor was great and really interesting. Smoky, sweet, and meaty all the same. From what I see there are other franchises around the southern belt. (Too lazy to look it up...Lol) Everything g was done via tablet and whe you go pay the bill just tell them what table you sat at. The bill comes up. Pretty nifty! I won't hesitate to visit again but not here in the area. I need to maintain my svelte figure.

Patties on my burger were thick and meaty, fresh and cooked to perfection! Home chips were crispy and salted correctly. Now the sweet potato fries were on a WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL.... Waffle cut cooked crispy with this marshmallow cinnamon dip from heaven!! Attentive friendly staff!!

Tried out Midtown Grill tonight and had a good burger. Got the Clarkesville which had bacon, pimento cheese, strawberry jam and jalapeños on it. Cooked well, good flavor. Doesn't come with a side, so adding fries and a drink puts the total near $12. The 4 star rating instead of 5 is based mostly on the price. $12 is a little pricey for an average size burger, frozen fries, and a sweet tea. While it was good, I don't think I'll return at that cost. A family of 4 will easily spend $40-$50. It's a good burger, just not the bang for buck we were looking for.

Great burgers and great value. I knocked them down a star for now having homemade fries. That being said... get the chips as they are good

One of the best burgers I've ever eaten - great mix of flavors. Staff was friendly and helpful too.

We were picking up my truck from the Ram dealer around lunchtime so said "hey let's go get some BBQ, it's right down the road". The exterior has a modern and tidy barn door look and there is plenty of parking. We walked in and it was nice and cool (great on a summer day) and looked to the left to see the cafeteria line. Hey this looks odd for a BBQ restaurant buts lets check it out. Then we see in the line that there neither stew nor que, it's southern meat and two. OK, well we are here let's give it a go. I had chicken tenders which looked hand breaded. They had good texture but could use some spices. The mashed potatoes were hood with some good gravy. The lima beans were too salty to eat. Megan liked her chicken fried steak. I am not sure it was breaded house. She also had the mashed potatoes. Megan liked the green beans. The corn bread was kinda dry and crumbly with no sweetness. I think some people like it this way. The biscuit was good. I am not a super fan of the meat and three so this was just OK. I would likely stop here for a breakfast biscuit if I am in the area in the morning.

According to other Yelpers this may be the best Captain D's on the planet. The interior is not fast food bright so that's a winner. There are a couple people working the counter and monitoring the dining room for cleanliness. Also a winner. I ordered the fish and shrimp six dollar special, paid, and was handed a beeper. I found a table and waited a few minutes for the beeping, then went to the counter to get my food. The presentation was nice in a compartment plate. Also picked up some catsup packs. I received one long thick piece of fish, four shrimp, two hushpuppies, and fries. This was a good portion for a meal and a great portion for the price. The fish was hot, juicy, and tasted good. It is a mild white fish. The shrimp were shrimpy and the batter spicy. Fresh from the fryer.Another good one. Hushpuppies were the right size and corny, crunchy, and hot. The fries were a little bit of a let down as they were soft. They tasted ok. If the fries were better we would be in five star land. I'd go back and try some other things, I think it could be worth it.

Despite a low number of cars in the parking lot, we were greeted by a server who was helpful. Once we ordered, we got a beeper device, but didn't have long to wait for our order. I got salmon, green beans, and broccoli, as I am working on weight loss at the moment, while he got a fried fish and shrimp combo with fries and okra. Both orders were delicious. This location looks very attractive inside and outside, unlike the ones in my area, and it is convenient, with plenty of parking. The only downside is the price of the fountain drinks, and with the inflation that all businesses must manage, all I can say is that Captain D's has decided to push up the price there more than with the food. Our ticket was well over $30, but we'd eat there again, no doubt.
