I used DoorDash this time, but this will forever be one of my favorite places to get Pozole. It is filled with lots of meat the juice was lacking its usual flavor but it was still very good. They did everything I asked. I also got two tacos one pastor which was too sweet for me and one chili verde just didn't have any seasoning. They weren't my favorite I'm definitely gonna stick to just the soup.

Nice spot to grab a quick bite if you're stuck at the hospital for a few hours. Nothing fancy. It's your typical taqueria. The staff is extremely nice. I would come again alone for the nice staff. The food is mediocre; not bad, but not great. They have a salsa there that is above all other spicy salsas I've ever had at a Mexican spot. The jimica aqua fresca tastes like a non-alcoholic sangria. I would not recommend it. They were out of the pork tamales, so we settled for the vegetarian option, which was okay. The burrito was edible, nothing to brag about. The best thing here is the complimentary chips and salsa. This was my first time here and will probably be my last.

We had some time to spare time between medical appointments and we were a little hungry and as we didn't want to lose our parking spot we took a little stroll up J street and happened upon Midtown Taqueria. We decided to wander in and share a carne asada super nacho and an ice cold Coke Zero. Service was very friendly and prompt and our order did not take too long as they were in between the lunch and dinner rush. The restaurant was small and very clean. The nachos were freshly made and plenty for two people to share. Wish the beans and guacamole had a little more flavor. What have you tried and what do you recommend?

Looking for something close ( walking distance) to Mercy General Hospital. Found this little place. Clean , fast service. Fresh hot chips and yummy salsa bar. Wanted something easy grab and go so ordered a few burritos to take back to the hospital. I recommend this place for sure.

This restaurant specialize in authentic Mexican street food, particularly tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. I got the two chicken taco combo. Small double up corn tortillas filled with grilled seasoned chicken. The taco topped with onions, cilantro, salsa. The food was flavorful, and hot. The staff were nice and friendly.

Chorizo street tacos with onion and celontro

Chorizo street tacos are amazing here Stopped on a whim as I drove by. I arrived just before a big rush about 3. I the folks were very friendly, typical dive atmosphere, football on the screen. Saving this spot for next year's CIM

Great service. Owners and workers are always polite and nice. Great spot for some street tacos! Owners take pride in what they do!

Owners and workers are very polite and respectful. Great spot to sit and enjoy the ambience. You can never go wrong with some street tacos, always flavorful. Breakfast I always go with the machaca breakfast burrito.

Torta at first glance was different so I opened it up and the meat was finally chopped up a little pieces like I feed my dog of something other than Carnitas I ordered Carnitas and I think it was what they do steak but it is so tiny and thinly chopped up has no moisture in it it was like eating a soggy mushy bun with a bunch of mayonnaise the meat though there's not enough coverage for the meat the guacamole and the mayonnaise just made the bun completely soggy tomato was scarce and what lettuce they did put on it it must've been completely wet for this bun to be this soggy ..,the meat had no flavor this was a waste of $13 kind of weird because I had a good one here, anyway don't waste your money on that especially the steak if this is how they serve it disgusting I think if people want you to chop up or mince their food up they'll let you know! . WRONG MEAT SUNCE I ORDERED THE PORK CARNITAS. Chili Relleno was fine . Well I was looking forward to this food just like the last time and came out very disappointed. I think if people want their food minced up they will ask you to do that, overkill on the watery guacamole and mayonnaise. Good job Midtown Taqueria looks like the local taco stands are doing better than you are!! High five yourself if you're looking to lose business you're on your way.

    Super burrito

I live in the neighborhood and order takeout from here regularly, I'm so surprised there are any negative reviews. It's a no-frills neighborhood taqueria, the food is always delicious with fair prices. The staff are super friendly and the red salsa is the best. 10/10!

    Street taco

The food was amazing! We got the carne asada street tacos and they were made fresh right in front of us. We got a great portion of meat. The place was beautiful inside and very cozy. The service was excellent and the sauces were so good! We got the habanero sauce and some red sauce. Food was amazing. Will be going back!

I give Midtown Taqueria a solid 4. It's consistent, the service is always friendly, the salsa bar is a nice touch, and it's so pleasant to sit outside and watch the world go by! Plus, there's parking and it's inexpensive!!

Salsas could be better; burritos could have more flavor and refried beans. Lacked in authenticity.

Each taco had a generous amount of meat, was well-prepared, and tasted fresh. The real game changer, though, was adding the jalapeño cream sauce along with a few salsas from the salsa bar which took the tacos to another level. If I could, I'd give this place 6 stars just for that! Also, I'd recommend the cucumber lime agua fresca drink. It tasted refreshing and the perfect amount of each flavor. Their menu has a great variety of options, and I noticed several people ordering the dinner plates, which looked absolutely massive. I also saw them bring out a sizzling hot skillet that I could hear from a few tables down. You definitely get your money's worth here. The service was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly fast. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the salsa bar was fresh, organized, and full of appetizing choices. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

The restaurant had great energy and a fun, buzzy atmosphere. The crowd was a lively mix of people from the Capitol, couples enjoying date night and moviegoers grabbing dinner before or after a show. Unfortunately, the service was lacking during our visit. One of our meals was forgotten and we had to flag down the server to let him know. Our server also wasn't around very often, so it was difficult to get refills or ask for anything we needed. When we requested a specific number of to-go boxes, we weren't given enough and had to get up and ask for additional boxes ourselves. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but I took away 1 star for the lack of service. The service could definitely use some improvement, especially since it wasn't busy when we went. With more attentive service, this could have been a much better dining experience.

They didn't just walk by like frazzled, hurried workers like most restaurants pushing through the crowds. They actually gave me a nice smile and said welcome, and then walked by. And then I got to the reception area found that there was already a pretty big crowd at around the 5:30 PM or so I guess a lot of early birds come to eat there on Sunday. The receptionist asked for how many and said you'd be like a 20 minute wait and there was chairs where people were waiting but it was only like a 15 minute wait. The server was fast with the chips and salsa and ice water and then soon the waiter came and took my order. He was really quick and witty, fun to talk to. What I really enjoyed was as the noise of the table Near quieted down and they left. I saw a young man cleaning up the table and getting it ready for the next group of people. He was dressed really nice and had a tie on. Having been in restaurants most of my life I said to myself, I bet you he works with the owners or something. And I said to him, are your related to people that own the place ? he said my parents own this place. He was very friendly and polite. He told me a tiny bit about the restaurant and how everything had been since 1970, much older than he was, he was only a sophomore in high school I think. I never really got his name, but I was kind of proud of him because he was working hard at his family's restaurant. I ordered probably something bigger than I could eat because I had to take leftovers home, but it was really a tasty meal, and they're coming out with more chips and salsa without being asked, probably didn't help as well as a second lemonade. It's really impressive when you have a well oiled machine and it appeared to me that the people that worked there seem to be happy so that's always a good sign of good management. Several years back, I worked in the restaurant industry doing maintenance and repairs so I went to a lot of different restaurants and saw a lot of things so I know what to look for. I'm definitely gonna come back when my brother and his wife come up from the Bay Area my friend Ivan he'll wanna go there for lunch or dinner I know. He's kind of a picky eater and was born in Mexico, but I think he'll be impressed with this place.
