Came to Los Compadres for lunch with a friend. We ordered 2 mulitas de asada, order of quesabirrias, a horchata, and a Jamaica, total came to $34.64. My friend really enjoyed the Jamaica, and I liked the horchata although it was a bit sweeter than I prefer. I ordered the mulitas de asada and found them just okay. Personally I prefer mulitas made with handmade tortillas and these were with standard tortillas. The asada was a little too salty for my taste. One thing I did appreciate is as the salsa bar and complimentary chips are much added a nice touch to the meal. It's been a few years since my last review so when we went to dinner this last time I decided to take some update pictures. There's so much to choose from on their menu. We decided on the Quesabirria Tacos. It's served with consome. They have a self serve chips and salsa bar. The chips are fresh and there's a handful of salsas to choose from. The service was 10/10 from the girl taking our order to the guys walking by several times to check on us. They also have a couple TVs with different sports on to watch while you're there. On January 28, I had the invite to this Taqueria and it was delicious! I arrived at 1 PM and it's a solid amount of people going in and out/hanging to enjoy the food. Order: I ordered the two veggie tacos with no sour cream and then proceeded to take myself to the complementary salsa bar with super fresh chips (still warm m) and a beautiful array of salsa from mild to hot and they also have jalapeños and carrots! Food: My veggie tacos were bomb and presented well on a large double corn tortilla that included rice, beans, cheese, guacamole a little mild salsa and fresh lettuce. Everything was layered beautifully. The portions were nice and it was super fresh and delivered with prompt and kind service. Not only did the team ask how we were doing once, but three times! They really care about their Taqueria. I lastly wanna say the food hit all the feels and Yes, you may pay a little more by 1-2 dollars compared to other places, but it's worth it. Came in for lunch with the family. You order your food first and then sit down. They have an open salsa bar with warm chips. There are some big screens with the menu on the wall with some pictures of the food. We ordered the quesabirrias, menudo, 2 asada tacos (just the meat) and a side of beans and rice. An agua fresca and fountain drink. The place medium size and the service is nice and fast. They have music playing and a couple tvs with soccer games on. The food was really good and freshly made. The chips pair up good with the beans and my son likes making lil nacho bites with his taco meat and beans. The quesabirrias were hella good with the consome cup to add some juicy flavor to the meat. The food was so good my friend and I wolfed it down before I even thought to take a picture or write a review. A prior coworker of mine recommended I try this establishment years ago. I drive by often as well. It was merely a last minute stop when my friend and I completed a local class, that convinced me to try to satisfy my rumbling tummy. So glad it was on my way! I tried a Sopa with Carne Asada and it was a delicious! I will most definitely have again. Unfortunately, no pictures to share, but it is honestly about the taste. This time I received a burnt torta with little pieces of meat which I felt I was only eating beans and bread . The taco which is crunchy was ok I think it will be tasty if I would have ate it right away. The ladies greet me when I entered with a smile and she was nice. Definitely my new favorite spot to grab some authentic Mexican food. The birria tacos are one of the best ones I have had in the Sacramento area. Perfectly balanced with the meat and cheese, the consume they give on the side is also delicious. The street tacos were good too (pollo chicken, pastor pork, carne asada beef) but definitely would recommend the birria tacos. The staff are very friendly, they maintain the inside very clean and stocked up. The chips, variety of salsa and condiments that are available are the best I have had, especially the tajin cucumbers. I have been to this restaurant many times they used to be my number one Taqueria but I normally just get a crispy chicken tacos.... I will start with a review of the crispy chicken taco which was a premade taco shell I guess they have decided that making their own taco shells isn't worth it I'm going to tell you when I got my taco it was already broken in half and it was small Nothing like the tacos that I had gotten before... and dumping all of that stuff all over the top of the tacos making them even more slimy and hard to handle is really ridiculous especially if you're using premade taco shells, they basically just deteriorate with all of the wet stuff thrown on top of the shell. So that was disappointing. I also ordered a Carnita plate because that's what I really went in there for, first off the Carnitas meat was still chunks of it ice cold... it wasn't heated up enough to even get it hot and this is the first time I've had Carnitas so tough? Terrible is what I would say for the meat. I've had this before and it wasn't like this. I ordered a beer because normally it would take at least 10 minutes or 15 minutes to cook right I had taken two drinks out of the beer and they had it at my table. I'm all for fast food but I'm not for fast terrible food and I like my food Hot especially pork. The rice was good I liked the rice it was the only thing Hot, the beans were terrible they were watered down and I think they put tomato paste in it or tomato sauce and if they didn't put tomato sauce in it it means that the beans were probably going bad because they had a tart taste to them...they were runny like water there was no sign of a bean in it so they blend it up evidently.... If this is homemade beans they're terrible and off tasting. The flour tortillas were fine I don't think they make them but it's kinda hard to make a tortilla bad. For the beer the Carnitas and the taco and a Jamaica everything came to $42... Unfortunately I probably will not be back, since the crispy chicken taco was what I go there for all the time and the taco was not up to par, plus I do not like store bought shells. You know beans cost like little to nothing to make and you can tell when you get good home cooked beans blending them up and watering them down and putting tomatoes sauce in them I don't know where that comes from? Anyway today's meal mostly went into the garbage and that is sad I just don't put gross food into my body that I'm unsure of and I would say you might want to start caring about what you're putting out to your patrons and being the fastest to get a product out isn't always the best. HOT MADE FROM SCRATCH FOOD IS ALWAYS WHAT PEOPLE APPRECIATE. One other thing the staff the cashier was so friendly and the gentleman making up the to go bags was very friendly too... that is why I left an eight dollar tip in their tip container... I just wish the food would've been as nice as the folks putting in the order and bagging it up. Sorry Los compandres ... you know with Taqueria on the streets and Taqueria is popping up all over town, I would say taking pride in making the food should be part of the process. I always find myself heading to this establishment the last couple of years because of its proximity to where I live, the cleanliness, the ginormous Carne asada burritos + chips + salsa, affordable price and great service. I decided to mix it up this time and got a shrimp super burrito I ordered a to-go order on a Friday because I was in a rush to attend a meeting and the place was pretty packed with a lot of people arriving for lunch. Shrimp burrito = Great! Next time I'll request the burrito to be light on the wet ingredients when ordering to-go because I'm always afraid when burritos fall apart on me. This place is located across the street from the Loehmann's Plaza. I came here for dinner with friends and I really enjoyed my experience here. There is a big selection of food. I ordered the quesabirria plate and it was delicious. I loved the consommé that comes with the three tacos. I do wish the tacos had a little more cheese and that the plate came with corn and beans. I also have tried their Agua Fresca and it is so refreshing. I recommend the pineapple juice to wash your meal down! I enjoy the salsa bar that has different salsa's. We'd been online looking over taco shops and reviews for about an hour, then came here on a whim because we'd driven by it before and had been interested in trying it. They did not disappoint. Music was great. Cashier was polite and patient. Food came out faster than any other taco shop we've ever been to. We took our order to go and the food held really well until we got home. Taqueria Los Compadres is a good place to go for groups. There's plenty of tables to sit at, convenient counter ordering and fast service, but I personally am not the biggest fan of their food. I've been here twice and I would say the food is just ok. I do really love their salsa bar though. The chips are salty and crunchy and they have grilled onions and Jalapeños as well as pickles sides and salsas. I ordered three super tacos which was waaayyy to much food for me. The tacos are huge and piled high. I personally like my tacos to be a bit less filled so I can pick them up more easily and I think because they were so lettuce heavy the tortillas got a bit soggy which wasn't the best. The meat flavor was good but there just wasn't a whole lot compared to the other toppings. I also tried my friends torta and it was good but I think there was just too much going on which caused both dishes flavors to get a bit lost.
