I signed up for a Yelp account just to tout this business. I have had multiple excellent experiences with Midwest Appliance Repair. On one occasion, I had a washing machine we were ready to junk. It took one part to fix it, and Midwest Appliance explained how to install it until I was comfortable doing it myself. We had that washer for two more years before moving out of the house. More recently, our nearly new refrigerator stopped getting cold. I called Midwest first and they made me aware of an extended warranty that the manufacturer did not mention over the phone. They essentially saved me $600 on that trip. Our clothes dryer stopped getting hot yesterday, so I called them. They had a technician to our house by 1 pm today, he had the part they expected it to be in the truck, and the total experience cost $118, and less than an hour. The technician explained (in plain English) what the issue was and how we can avoid it in the future. Bottom line is that any appliance issue I have, I will check with Midwest Appliance first, and I recommend them to anyone. read more

Helpful excellent service and great prices on OEM quality replacement parts. If they don't have the part they can usually get it in a day. Forget E-Bay, those parts are mostly cheap junk. Get the good parts at Midwest. read more

If you live somewhere long enough, you eventually find the right people to call for stuff like repairs to your appliances. And you figure out who NOT to call. I've been fortunate to find a couple of good contractors, and this week I got lucky again. I've been stopping in at Midwest Appliance to purchase small parts to repair my home appliances since we moved out here in 2004. Their stock isn't universal, but they usually can help me off the shelf or special order stuff. This week I stopped in to see if they might carry a sensor for Whirlpool water heater that had just died for the 3rd time. With company coming this weekend, I was desperate to get it working. Unfortunately, they (like me) have had some bad experiences with Whirlpool, so they don't stock their parts. I went home and called Whirlpool to order the part. To make a long story short(er), the wife and I decided we'd had enough and decided to replace the not-so-old Whirlpool water heater. I called Barb at Midwest and she gave me a very competitive price on a non-Whirlpool replacement, as well as a fair price for installing it. I asked how soon they could come out and she got back to me with the good news. "How about tomorrow morning?" Done! The tech showed up in the morning as scheduled, went about his work quietly and efficiently, and two hours later, the hot water was running. The water heater was gone, gone, gone. There was no mess. Honest service - How refreshing! We called Midwest to have our washing machine repaired. Their technician Ben took only a few minutes to identify the problem and the cost to repair. The repair cost was close to the price of a brand new machine and we asked the technician directly, "Should we even fix it?" and he responded quickly with "I wouldn't". He then explained the designed to fail features of the modern machines as opposed to the ones our parents would own for decades. Ours had reached the end of its designed life-span and going forward, more items would continue to break down. I should point out that Midwest services - does not sell. He had no incentive to have us get a new machine - his incentive was to push us to get a repair that was not worth getting and he did not do that. We paid the standard diagnostic charge for his time and started the search for a new machine. As we all have numerous appliances that will break over time, I am comfortable calling Midwest back to our house at any time for future repair (or replacement advice) needs. I should also note in general how respectful Ben was of our home and our time. He wore shoe covers the whole time he was in our house. The repair call was handled mostly by my wife until I came home from work and then he then took the time to explain to me everything that he already explained to my wife. These guys came out to fix my freezer. I took two days off of work (one for initial visit and another one for when the parts arrived). Midwest installed the part and I saw some improvement but still not the way it should be. Called Midwest again and they wanted to charge me another service visit ($80 or something) to come back and figure out what they missed the first time!!! Is it too much to expect not to get charged service visit fee on a re-work? Apparently Midwest thinks it is. I called AllMake Appliance instead and got great service. If you thinking about calling Midwest, call Allmake instead. Way better experience and work quality. read more

Great service, polite and know what they are talking about. They tell you what is wrong and then give you options on how and how much it is going to cost. They tell you high and low, then let you decide. I thought the price was great. I had a over the stove microwave stop heating and they fixed it with in couple days. Great people to deal with. I was using a well-known Heating and Cooling Co. in my area and I got tired of them finding something wrong every time they came out and paying their exorbitant fees (the house was less than 5 yrs old.) Midwest Appliance is very helpful. I have come here several times with questions about my household appliances. Barb has always taken the time to answer my questions and if she does not know, she puts me in touch with one of the repair guys. I once brought my whole blower wheel for my furnace to the shop because it was making a noise. I could not tell if it was the motor or the wheel itself. Ben, one of the repair guys, told me right away it was my wheel and not the motor. This saved me hundreds of dollars on parts, plus even more on labor. They ordered my part and within a few days I was back up and running. Their prices are very reasonable not only for products but for service too. Ordered apart online which when I talked to their employee told me it was the part I needed. Turned out not to be the right part. Called the company and the person talked down to me and overall had a crappy attitude, Sent the part back and still have not received a refund and it has been 4 weeks. This service is awesome! They are reasonable and honest. I have used this business for my stove, washer and dryer and dishwasher.... no complaints. Most of the time the problem has been with the plastic parts made to break easily with today's quality appliances. Repair guy came out and gave me a honest professional assessment of the problem with my washer - beyond economical repair confirming what info I found in an internet search about my model machine. Just charged a reasonable trip charge and also gave me recommendations on good machines to buy. Will definitely be calling Midwest again when I need repairs! read more

Do not use this company. I have been in the customer service industry for 20 years and have never been treated so poorly. Their service man is totally rude and does not care about their customers. They apparently only have one guy and my guess is he is the owners son. They were supposed to overnight a part to fix my stove and when the repair guy showed up he was here for less than 5 minutes. he wouldn't tell us what was happening and would not listen to our concern. He didn't know anything about the overnighted part and said he would have to order it . We kept telling him we needed it fixed because thanksgiving is in a few days. We asked him if he checked in with his office before he came out about the overnighted part. We asked him to wait to leave until we called his office. He started. yelling at us that it didn't matter if we called his office. He then got in his van and backed out of the driveway without another word. We immediately called the office and told them what happened. They were not empathetic and didn't really care. They said they would order the part and they were going to send the same guy back the next day but instead decided to have our landlord pick up the part and and refused to have someone come out to fix it. They fired our landlord as a customer after 24 years of him using their company for repairs. They were also just here two months ago to fix a similar issue and it took them over two months to fix the problem and get an appointment scheduled. This is a company who apparently in this tough economy doesn't need customers like the rest of our small business community. Both thumbs down!!!!!!!!! read more
