Been a periodic customer for almost 4 years and have enjoyed their ambiance along with good beer and good food. Went there tonight for a quick bite and a beer. The beer didn't disappoint but it appears their menu has changed with some favorites missing They still had the Italian which sadly was nothing more a couple pieces of meat with Italian seasoning dumped in one spot. Very disappointing since the Italian I remembered having there multiple times was full and very filling. Pointed out my disappointment with the sandwich to the guy behind the bar and only received a comment about the menu changing, but nothing apologizing for the poor experience. I'll come by again but only for a beer, and less frequently read more

I don't understand how this place has 4 stars. I'll give the atmosphere a 4/5 but the food was awful! The meatball sandwich tasted like cardboard. The bread and meatballs were super dry. The fries were too salty. The steak bites were alright but the fries were overly salted. Never eating here again, sorry. read more

Whether you are interested in watching a game, or just kicking it with friends, Migration is the spot. The guys have a knack for picking a good selection of beers, and this good taste bodes well for when they get their own brews in line. The only problem I can see is that it isn't closer to Seattle so I could be a regular. read more

We moseyed over to Migration after breakfast at City State to get our malts-hops-yeast on. We typically head south to Captured by Porches and Coalition but I had remembered Migration was also near by. Walking in at 11:30 it was clear we were the only ones with beer on the brain that chilly Saturday morning. Our bartender was very friendly and offered up some recommendations- I went with the seasonal Better Off Red IPA and the manfriend had the Old Silenus, an English style ale that was nutty and slighly sweet from all the malts. The space was large and welcoming, probably the warmest spot I've been this fall with the heat at a cozy beer-drinking level. Our second round consisted of the seasonal Get Lit Wit, which was delightfully German on the tongue, while my counterpart went with the Glisan St Dry Hop Pale, which was just simply divine. I am not sure how to perfectly describe this beer. It was grapefruity and bitter but drying without any resin flavors. There were almost hints of vanilla that made the brew taste creamy but in a non-sweet way. This is/should be their flagship beer. Their menu looked tasty with a good amount of vegetarian options but we were too full of eggs and potatoes to indulge. Will come again. read more

Migration's outdoor seating is one of the best, but I can't justify giving it more than three stars overall. We've been here several times for beers in the sun. Since we have frequented it for that purpose, it obviously has some redeeming qualities, but there is nothing super memorable about this place, aside from the patio. We ate there for the first time last night. I got what I thought wouldn't be a too difficult order: a banh mi with no aioli and a side salad. My fiance ordered the pulled pork banh mi. They brought out our food completely wrong. Mine was a veggie patty banh mi with aioli (the standard is chicken, with an option of changing it to veggie or pulled pork). They also didn't bring our side salads. Since I couldn't do both veggie patty and aioli, I did tell our waitress what I had ordered and she politely took it back. When she brought back what she thought was the correct order, it was still all wrong. I can't blame her because she heard me and repeated what I said I had ordered, so maybe the cook was feeling overwhelmed with how busy it was. I hate being the person who keeps returning food, so I toughed it out and ate it. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great. The salads, once they finally brought them out, were pretty pathetic, too. I'm bummed it has to be this way, Migration, but I'm sure we'll be back for the atmosphere. We'll just have to satisfy our hunger elsewhere. read more

ATMOSPHERE: Neighborhood sports family-friendly pub. A few details are off, but overall it's a nice comfortable space. Overall, you can tell they make an effort. I arrived as dusk was nearing, and before I left there was a little oil candle on my table (set there when it was starting to get dark). That's a random example, but the point is they try to class up this place, but it's weird, because other elements don't match that attitude. For example, I'm usually a bar guy, even when eating, but the Migration bar just didn't feel warm and inviting, so I sat at a table. Anyway, if somebody told me they love this place, I wouldn't think they were crazy. Slow when I arrived, but got a bit busy as the dinner crowd trickled in. SERVICE: It was fine. Not great, but hey, it's a neighborhood pub. FOOD: Got the job done. I had a meatball sandwich w/ fries. Yawn. It was fine, I guess. BEER: They didn't have much going on when I visited, just a typical lineup of the standards. I had a porter that was actually quite satisfactory. Migration isn't really known for great beer, but I thought it was a perfectly fine specimen of a porter. Went great with my sandwich. PRICE/VALUE: Menu prices seem a bit high, but I won't complain until I've evaluated quality and portion size. I had the every-day promoted special: meatball sandwich w/ fries and a pint for $10. That's pretty respectable. Can't complain about that. OVERALL: Almost good enough for me to come back, but not quite. If they'd change a few things, I could be a regular here...but then they'd lose their current regulars. I just realized this lukewarm review isn't very helpful. Basically I just said "it's all fine, but nothing special". But yeah, that pretty much sums up Migration. read more

I haven't done a review before .. But I thought I would warn people ... I have been to hundreds of breweries ...They pour schooner sized tasters, charge you $14 and mediocre beer at best.. When I simply suggested to warn people That the sampler is a stupid amount of beer ... They says it's a good deal and shrugged ... No it's not , I should have paid $6 for shots of beer and then bought the beer I liked for another $6 ... Will never go back ... Bummed me out on a Sunday afternoon ... Okay, any local pub is a good thing. Have a beer with your pals, but don't take your date here for dinner. The BBQ pork sandwich was served on fresh bread and was good, but probably out of a little plastic bucket. The chips were served from a bag with salsa from a bottle and bean dip from a can. Keep your expectations in line and you'll leave happy. They're new and have some minor bugs to work out. Stop by and give'm a try if you live in the neighborhood, but don't bother driving across town for this establishment. read more

Migration is the best thing to happen to the NE in a long time. A local brewery, opened and run by locals. The atmosphere is wonderful - it feels like an extension of my living room. The inside is warm and inviting, but with plenty of space to meet a big group of friends. I'm a vegetarian and am really pleased with the veggie selections on the menu (the humus platter is delicious!) and my husband, as meat-atarian as they come, loves the pulled pork sandwich! The owners are great guys and are always there and happy to chat about their brews. Definitely check out Migration! I've been several times and can't wait to bike down this summer - their patio and outside tables are so inviting! read more

Good beer, good food. However, I have been going here for a long time and always hope the staff will get friendlier. Unfortunately, they don't! So disappointing. One of the reasons why I moved from California to Oregon was because of how friendly people in Portland are. Except for Migration. The brunette female bartender was beyond rude to a point that it was funny. The couple sitting at the table next to us even turned around and asked what her problem was. My sister asked her what she suggested in terms of a beer and she responded "just get what you want". I definitely won't be back because of her, which is disappointing since it's a great spot. I've worked in the food industry before and I get that it can be tiring, but find a new job lady, because you are absolutely miserable. read more

Our company went here for lunch for our GM's birthday. You order & pay at counter when ordering. Of course we left a generous tip, mistake 1. Almost half of our orders came out wrong & then they brought us other tables orders, seems really disorganized. Two of us ordered the regular burger w/o bun, 1 of us salad & the other fries, both NO tomato due to allergies. We both got burger w/ salad & both loaded with cherry tomatoes. One of our staff members had the worst time. He ordered the chicken sandwich, no aoli, first order came with aoli, sent it back. Second try the chicken was severely undercooked, anyone eating would have been sick, sent it back. All of us had finished our meals even before he had his. Third try the chicken sandwich was fine, French fries limp, wet mush, not cooked. He asked for a to go box. I spoke up, because our staff member is too nice, mentioned his experience was unacceptable, did not have a chance to enjoy his lunch with even the slightest chance of an edible meal. Server returned with a card offering to come back for a pitcher of beer on the house. Seriously? Our staff member is athletic & does not drink. Adding insult to injury, I mentioned this to the server whose reply was "well maybe you can give it away." Are you kidding me? Chef needs to learn the basics of cooking, servers need to learn to ensure orders are accurate, and management needs to realize that good service & food are the key to a successful restaurant & resolve situations appropriately, maybe train their staff better. All I can say is I want my tip back, this seemed more like a Hell's Kitchen episode than a nice lunch out for our Company. What a joke! read more
