The food ranges from combo dishes to side orders of tacos, taquitos and more. The food here is AOK. It is not The best. It is not bad. It is AOK. The best thing is that the drive thru is fast. Also, it's very convenient to order food without getting out of your car in such a short amount of time and minimal effort. My favourite things to order include the enchilada plates and a side of taquitos. The guacamole is relatively fresh and you will get a full dose of cheese. That is for sure. I've been here regularly since it opened. I have always ordered hard tacos, BRCs or tostadas. There's been several instances that the hard tacos are really soggy and greasy. The worst Miguel's I've ever been to. The girl that took my order was just rude not welcoming at all not friendly didn't care. She hated her life. I used to love Miguel's been going there for over 20 years. It used to only be in corona, and it was always on point. I had taquitos and they were disgusting. I waited over 15 minutes just sat there. They forgot about my order I went and finally said is my order still coming and threw it out a couple minutes the taquitos were like they were old made hours ago still just disgusting. My husband had been wanting Miguel's for some time. He used to frequent the Ontario location and loved it! Driving from Newport, we saw this location and decided to stop. BIG MISTAKE! COLD FOOD!! Our taquitos looked NOTHING like the photo and definitely we're nowhere near being spicy at all...burritos were small...cold...not okay!! Sorry but I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone!! We sat in the parking lot just to taste our order before heading onto the freeway home...we would have returned the food because that's how disappointed we were, but we didn't wanna go through the trouble. Not even tasty either Just another FYI when we got home we opened up our green chile burrito and it was pretty much all rice! There was hardly any meat definitely no sign of green chili sauce, my husband was so disappointed because he was really looking forward to having the Miguel's food he had remembered. I would frequent Miguel's at least once a week but since moved out of state. Each time I return to CA I always make sure to visit one of my favorite go to spots-Miguel's. Today I ordered 2 BRCs and was expecting bliss! My first burrito lived up to my expectations and I was on cloud 9! I reached for my second burrito with hopes of gorging myself with more of that delicious bean, rice, and cheese that only Miguel's can provide. I am almost certain I have been pranked. This second burrito was full of just BEANS! Every bite I took was BEANS, I was drowning in BEANS! I couldn't believe it. I have been searching for ages now and with every bite I prayed that the glorious treasure of rice and cheese I had been wanting so badly would appear but only furthered my disappointment with more BEANS! After waiting an hour in the drive thru they messed up our order. We went back and waited another 30 mins for a burrito!!!!! so by the time we got our other food it was cold. I had to throw my entire meal away. I waited at the front for over 15 mins waiting for they to come and help. Never did. Met some friends for lunch at Miguel's Jr in Costa Mesa. The place is very clean including the restrooms. Unfortunately I missed breakfast since I got there after 11:00. I had the garbage burrito with pork Chile verde which was very good and very messy! I wish they grilled the tortilla to prevent it from falling apart all over the place while eating it. It looked like garbage after it all fell apart but it was delish! Nice outdoor patio with tables definitely spread apart 6' or more. They also have a drive thru as well. read more

It's the ambiance for me. Really enjoyed the out door seating and fire pit.OC summer evenings can handle a fire pit . There was even pop music playing from the speakers . It was just a nice stop after coming from the beach .I ordered the taquito combo plate and an horchata .The combo comes with a drink, but there was an additional charge to change from the included soft drink to horchata. Miguel's Jr used to be one of our favorite restaurants; we'd go multiple times a week in some cases. In the past few months, though, the food quality has dropped dramatically. From cold burritos to inconsistent portions to outright unpleasant taste, we can no longer find it in ourselves to come here on the off-chance we'll actually get a decent meal. The cooks in back have forgotten our orders, gotten the orders wrong, or simply ignored parts of our orders altogether. The cashiers have been as friendly as ever, which leads me to believe that the problems stem from the kitchen. Either way, it's not worth spending $25+ on food that we might not even be able to eat. I doubt we'll be going back any time soon. It's just not worth it any more. read more

Tonight I accidentally sent my order on DoorDash to the Orange location & so I immediately called them and asked what I could do. The woman placed me on hold and came back to tell me that she will call the Costa Mesa location and have them make the order (it was just 1 potato burrito). I thanked her and drove over. I waited half an hour, the last 10 minutes being in the store. When I noticed there were no more orders being made & there was no other customers, I asked the gentleman if they had gotten a call from the Tustin store. (Address is Tustin St, Orange.. so I got a little confused). He told me to wait a second and he would get some help. A short moment later a woman named Larissa/Lorissa? came around the corner, stood at the register, and glared at me. I asked her if she had gotten a call from the Tustin store. And she aggressively replied "the Tustin store or the orange store, because I spoke to Orange" I quickly looked at my confirmation email and showed her that it said Tustin St, Orange so I apologized for being confused. But then she said nothing and continued to glare at me. I asked her if they had talked to her about the order & you could obviously tell she was frustrated & sternly said "we told them no. We have no affiliation with them." And went back to staring at me. I apologized and told her that I was confused because the other woman had told me it was okay. In few words she said "well she is confused" no compassion from this woman at all. Then had the nerve to ask me to order. I completely lost my appetite and just walked out. I drive pretty far for work and decided to pay this place a visit before heading home and it was soooo worth the trip ! It's drive through let's start off with how much a blessing that is trying to beat rush hour traffic. Anyways, I skimmed the menu via Uber eats while at work and decided on the Relleno burrito. This review goes out to all the ice connoisseurs-- this Miguel's does not serve crushed ice. Their ice is just regular cubed. As far as the food, the chicken burrito on a cheat day is a must but their salads are weak. Miguel's Jr. is one of the best, if not the best Mexican fast food I've ever had. To be clear, it's not as good as your favorite hole in the wall taqueria, but that's not what Miguel's Jr is. It's fast food. It's drive thru. Compared to Del Taco, Taco Bell, and others... Miguel's is the King!! My personal favorite is their garbage burrito. But I'm also a fan of their bean rice and cheese, and bean rice and cheese con huevos (that's eggs) for a nice breakfast. The staff is also amazing, they are friendly, quick and professional. They'll also provide good recommendations for their favorite meals if you ask. In summary, is Miguel's the best Mexican food? No. But is it the best Mexican fast food? Probably, which puts it at the higher end of any and all fast food! read more

Bean and cheese burrito is my go to, but I also really like the carne asada, garbage burrito, shedded beef and chicken tacos and mostly anything else. The burrito box is a great deal. My son ordered a carne asada burrito and it literally had 6 pieces of Carne Asada (2 pieces were all fatty chewy pieces of meat) and pound of rice and beans. Had he wanted a rice and beans burrito I would have ordered him one. This was one expensive ass beans and rice burrito. Horrible cooks.. they need to learn how to put enough meat in a burrito if you order one. I'll never be back. So many bad reviews for this location in regards to the food.. what a shame. read more

First, the drive thru is permanently 90% blocked off and it looks closed. I dont get down here a lot so I worked harder to try n get food. Finally got into the empty drive thru. Took me 3 tries dealing with the guy on the speaker ,just to find out what diet drinks they have. Twice he said that the horchata and the strawberry lemonade were diet, ugh. Finally ordered a medium Diet Dr Pepper which I normally love, and an order of chicken taquitos. Woman at the window was barelyyyyyyy civil. Barely. Middle age, dark hair. First sip of the Diet Dr Pepper was horrible. It was obviously lacking syrup. Either they were running out of syrup, or to save money they were mixing it weakly. I told her something was wrong with it, that it was severely lacking syrup. Her response was again barelyyyyyy civil. She said "well that's Diet Dr Pepper, thats what it tastes like." I said "I get this at every fast food chain where it s sold and no it never tastes like this, it s horrible. Can you fix it? I was really looking forward to it and need to caffeine." Clearly put out she pretended to go check something n then came back. She said "Ughhhhhh I can offer you something else...." I asked "Ok what else do you have that s diet ( againnnn..) ? She said "We have Diet Dr Pe pper." I said "You said THIS is Diet Dr Pepper and that you just checked on it! " "UGHHH ok we have Diet Coke." All surly. Miguels--charge $4 more and get all over your people for their s*** attitude, lack of helpfulness, and lack of product knowledge. And fix the friggin drive thru entrance. I was in the parking lot for 30 minutes making calls and saw person after person pull in and then leave when they saw the drive thru blocked. Really disappointing and infuriating. First, I ordered 2 original burritos. I asked if it is extra to get no beans but extra rice instead. I was charged extra for the rice!! (Lie#1) I then went to pay in cash and was short changed & told the woman that but she insisted she gave me the right amount which she didn't. (Lie #2). But is where I'm really mad! I paid $5 for a pumpkin horchata & the entire cup was full of ice! Got maybe 4-5 sips and the drink was gone!!! That is not right Miguel's!! You owe us another pumpkin horchata. Customer service was shockingly not good one bit. The lady at the front didn't say one word to me when I was paying. I even tried asking "How are you tonight" and not a word came from her mouth.
