Never been here before! Was in need of rear blinker light bulb installed in late afternoon. Saw this place which I have never been to before but took a chance they could help me. Pulled in and noticed right away very clean shop and employees looked sharp with clean uniforms! I'm guessing it was the manager that was quick to assist me, 10/21. He said no problem and got me right in. The problem was taken care of quickly! While waiting a fellow USMC vet came in and we were swapping stories back and forth. I was very disappointed with my recent service at Louie's Car Care. I called them because I heard a THUNK one afternoon while shifting into reverse from park, asking them to look at my transmission. Took the car in, and was told it was not the transmission, but the brake caliper had stuck, and that I needed new brakes, so I had them replace the brakes and do an oil change. That was on a Saturday; Monday on the way to work, my SERVICE ENGINE SOON light came on so I called from work and left a message to ask them to call me. No call. On the way home that afternoon, my transmission blew - right in the middle of rush hour traffic on a busy stretch of road. I was a sitting duck. They did arrive as fast as they could to tow the car, and finished the job of installing a used transmission fairly quickly, however, when the car was done, they said that their credit card machine had gone down, so it was checks or cash only. As you can imagine, this was not a small bill, and I would like to have been able to charge the repair to get miles on my credit card. We asked if we could write a check, and then come in Monday after their card machine was working to charge it and get our check back. They said no, they're thinking of not accepting cards any longer because the CC company wants to charge them for the machine. If you say you accept cards, you should accept cards until you change over to an all cash business. And good luck staying in business when repairs cost thousands of dollars without accepting credit cards. I drove the car around for a few minutes and then took it home. The following day, I went out to pick up dinner at the local pizzeria, which is only about 5 miles away, and found that my A/C wasn't cooling. By the time I got home, the oil light was flashing wildly and the engine was hotter than hell. They had let me take the car home without one drop of oil in it. I could have blown the engine - and probably would have had I skipped dinner and tried to drive it all the way to work in the morning. read more

Just another mechanic trying to scam/overcharge their customers. Brought my Jeep to the shop because of transmission codes popping up, so they did an inspection ($95, firestone does it for free). After 4 days I was told I needed a new transmission. Since the codes popping up described a problem with the control module, we decided to take it to a trusted family mechanic. After 1 day, he told me I would not need a new transmission and all he did to solve the problem was reset the codes. It's been running perfectly ever since. I would not recommend taking your car to this "mechanic". Would give it 0 stars if I could. read more

WARNING!!!! Do not go this repair shop! We had a noise in the back of our truck. They replaced the barrings and after that no noise for two months. then we heard noise in the front, and they said both front barrings needed to be replaced for $1900.00. the mechanic showed me the rear wheel and when he turned the wheel it made noise. he said that could wait and wasn't bad. after $1900.00, both front barrings were done. the noise was still there and same noise. i immediately went back to Louie and then the repair guy said, "that's why we need to get that truck in here to replace the rear barring". I told them maybe the rear and not the front need to have been replaced. they said they have a stethoscope that they knew the front was bad. then i said why wasn't i told initially that three needed replacing, they couldn't explain. they said bring the truck back and they would put it up on the lift and i could hear the noise in the back. i said that wasn't needed as the mechanic at first showed me that. so i again said why replace the front if the back was the problem? they offered me a discount on the rear barrings. i don't think so, $1900.00 and still have the initial problem? I'm going to Harry Auto Service with a lot lower price and honest mechanic. Never again going back to this shop. read more
