They were very tidy using drop cloths on the carpet and cleaned up after themselves; unlike a lot of handymen/ contractors. Our staircase not only looks better, but is as solid as a rock and not all wobbly like it was before. Well fast forward almost a year later and now there is a baby in the house that is ready to move. In my childproofing quest, I told my husband that now is the time to get the stair handrail fixed. He found The Finishing Company. We advised Brian why rods we would like and that our stairwell was loose. Brian said no problem. We got our stair handrail fixed and new rods added in less than five hours. It is such an improvement. Brian is meticulous. He made sure to vacuum up dust every little step along the way. Now when I come home, I get to not only see a beautifully staircase but I feel a great piece of mind that the stair handrail is sturdy enough for once my baby is mobile.

Although I was very generous and gave Mulberry Painting a great review, I have since reconsidered and wanted to issue this update to make sure that like I have fallen victim to the nice person review, I do not allow this to happen to someone else. To that end, I would NOT recommend this business to anyone who wants to see a job well done and I will support this updated review as follows. Initially, I had to call back the painters, because they missed an obvious spot of the wall around my front door. It was a bit frustrating, but they seemed so nice so I let it go. Next, I noticed that they missed painting the entire wall behind my pull out range. I actually found this some time later, and I texted the business only to not hear back anything. During this time I noticed another problem. The business had talked me into trying an inferior paint product. Now the quote was what it was, and it wasn't a bargain basement quote (I don't mind paying for good work), but I am a Benjamin Moore customer and they talked me into this cheaper brand called Wall Hide. I am sure they pocketed the price differential, because the quote was not adjusted. That said, I noticed scuff marks on the wall almost from day one and when I tried to wipe it down, the paint came off too. I let Mulberry know this too. What prompted me to update my previous review, however, (I was going to let sleeping dogs lie) was when I recently was cleaning the cupboards in the kitchen and decided to climb the ladder to see what was actually up on top of them (I usually use a dusting tool). Mulberry never painted the area completely! They didn't paint the ceiling area nor did they paint the wall! These are small areas, but I distinctly informed them when they gave me the quote that the reason I was hiring painters to do the great room and kitchen was because I could not safely reach these areas. And guess what - they didn't paint it either. In a day and time when I see people donating their time to help others such as cutting lawns, I am still willing to pay for an honest days work. Yet, the quality of work was so subpar that I simply don't understand how these people live with themselves taking money and doing such a poor job. I would NOT hire nor would I recommend Mulberry Painting to do any type of work.

They are quick, and they pay attention to detail and took great care to make sure I was satisfied. I was also very impressed with how clean they left the house everyday after working. A crew of 3 workers arrived, along with the company owner. All three jobs were completed within 1.5 hours. The quality of work was excellent. The price for the job was also very good. I made an appointment, and when I took the afternoon off to meet the appraiser, he was a no-show. When I called back, I was informed by the very nice office manager that my appointment had been lost because of the new scheduling software that had just been installed. OK, technical problems, I understand... not so thrilled to be out for the afternoon on a wild-goose chase, but fine. I rescheduled, and the co-owner was going to come himself and take a look. He showed up and was very personable; the job is pretty simple, so he was only there for about 10 minutes. Two days later I received a written estimate that was so ludicrous price-wise, I suspect HJ Holtz wanted to gold-plate my house. It was literally thousands of dollars more than any other bid I received. I wanted to do business with someone local to me, but unless you need gold plating and can't figure out what else to spend your vast piles of money on, look somewhere else.
