He worked with my schedule so that my kids weren't exposed to the fumes. His vacuum has a HEPA filter which limited dust significantly. Vin deserves to bid on your job! I met with Vin a year ago about refinishing my upstairs floors. We have red oak downstairs, but old pine upstairs. The pine was in very poor condition. I had two other companies come out and give bids, both representing some big names in the area that both sell flooring, install, and refinish. Vin only installs and refinishes, so he has no incentive to upsell product to you. Vin was the only installer who pointed out how worn my flooring was from many prior refinishes. He showed me places where heads of the nails were exposed and had been buffed down during previous jobs. He said he could try refinishing it, but he was worried that the tongues on the planks would crack. Everyone else just said they could refinish with no mention of the risks. I decided to go with new flooring installed over my existing floors, as there was no subfloor beneath (1950's house). Vin got the job done in a day and was very thoughtful, even wrapping plastic around some of my wife's clothing that was hanging in a closet to prevent dust from getting on them. In total, my costs for purchasing my own flooring (Vin picked it up from the distributor and delivered it to my house AND carried all 23 boxes upstairs with his guys, at no additional charge) and Vin's install ended up being about $2,000 cheaper than what I was quoted by the big guys. Vin may not win your job, but I he deserves a change to bid on it. Good guy, very professional, would hire again for sure. read more

I bought a new home and was in need of having work done on the floors. It originally had an ugly green carpet that I just had to get rid of. After my brothers and I ripped up the carpet we found that the hardwood underneath was in decent condition with the exception of some major stains. A family friend recommended Vin and he immediately came over for consultation. He said that he'd try to sand out the floors and see how it looks afterwards. After sanding the floors, we determined that even though the floors looked a thousand times better, there were still some stains that just couldn't be removed from sanding. Vin recommended to have the floors stained and was very accommodating (choosing the color, darkness, etc). In the end, I now have beautiful, dark walnut floors that I couldn't be happier about! All in all, it took about a week for all of the sanding, staining and drying. The pricing was very reasonable and with the results I need and wanted!
