Wow! Buyer beware when buying from MTRV any location. Whether it's a new or especially a used RV, Have your potential purchase inspected by a 3rd party certified inspector. A month ago we agreed to purchase a used $100K RV. I had it inspected and it was found to have a severe, long term water leak that caused long term damage. I was assured that the RV was in great shape and that the MTRV staff inspected the unit before placing it on the line for sale. No such thing happened. I was contacted by the used Rv sales manager who basically called me and the certified inspector a liar and hung up on me. I have videos and pictures to prove the water leak and damage. who are you going to believe, Me or your lying eyes? Even after wrote a 3 page letter and spoke to the CEO, the RV is still on the sales lot. Go figure. I'll never buy from them again. I urge you to pass too. On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, I drove from Fontana to Colton to see about a problem with my Blue Ox/Patriot braking system in my car because, when towing behind my motorhome, the car batteries kept overcharging causing me to get a new car battery nearly every year since I've had the RV. My appt was made for Thursday, May 21 at 9 am. I was specific about what I wanted: To know if it was wired correctly because a jeep dealership said they had "never seen a battery wired like that". This request shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to complete: You open the hood, look at the wiring and say "yes" or "no" if it looks normal to you and then close the hood so I could be on my way. That's all I asked for. Period. It's even written on my invoice. On Thursday, May 21st, I arrived (again, from Fontana) about 10 minutes before 9. I went to the service dept to check in and the man who made this appt on Tuesday, claims it wasn't in the system. Hmm.... My car was taken in at 9:11 am. At 10:14 am, the service dept guy and the tech who was going to check out my car battery hookup. I explain to the tech what's been happening etc... he says "ok". They go off..... I guess it was a few minutes after noon when I went up to the desk to inquire why it's taking so long. The service guy who was handling my visit was at lunch and another guy said he'd pass the message on when my service guy got back from lunch. Ok.... I went back to sit down. Shortly thereafter, my service guy said "they are still working on it". Now I'm thinking... is the tech blind? He can't see where the wires are and if it looks normal or not? That's all I asked for. At about 1:20 or so I went back up to the desk to let the service guy know I'm diabetic and I'm starting to crash and I need my car to go get food; I left my supplies back in Fontana because I didn't know the tech was so inept it would take 4+ HOURS to VISUALLY INSPECT a couple wires on my car battery. At 1:27 the service guy comes to tell me that the tech is "wrapping up" and then I was forced to pay $225 for no specific answer other than something to the effect of "we can wire it to isolate your battery and you'd get power for the lights from the RV" which is exactly what IT ALREADY DOES since I installed a battery shut off switch. The problem is having the battery shut off switch removes some of the drivable things my car does that I WANT to use... like the auto shut off at stops, etc. He's telling me I would need to leave the shut off valve on there.... which I want to remove. What he said they could do, is exactly what the whole system I have is already doing. I learned NOTHING and was never told at all if my battery is wired correctly or not. NOTHING I didn't already know. They brought my car out at 1:43 pm.... and guess what? it's like an oven in there! It was 88 degrees out that day and my car is so hot I burned my legs on my leather drivers seat when I got in. My question is this: Was that tech working on my car out in the back parking lot???? It took over 15 minutes for my a/c to start making it comfortable inside the car. It's a very well maintained 2020 vehicle with under 45,000 miles on it. The service manager told me I should have been prepared to spend the whole day there.... TO VISUALLY LOOK AT A COUPLE WIRES and tell me if they are correct or not? Do they even know what wires look like?? Seems not if it took that long to do anything. I can do it in under 3 minutes but I don't know what the Patriot wiring looks like or I wouldn't have wasted my time OR money. And then he says "well, the techs have to take lunch...".... was he on lunch for 4 hours????? You took the car in at 9:11, tech came out at 10:14 and his lunch is when? TO LOOK AT WIRES!!!! The incompetence here is staggering unless it is their GOAL to drag out the hours so they can charge you more for it being there. It's one of the two; I see no other options. read more

Mike Thompson was a solid place for our first RV but not without some issues. Though typical of a vehicle dealership, we were a little surprised by some things that occurred despite being told "we do things differently here" The showing was great. Salesman Jonathan was very helpful answering questions. We did a TON of research but still had some questions and he answered them! When we finally decided to pull the trigger later that day, we managed to negotiate down a little bit and save some money! Jonathan fought for us and it worked out. The pickup was where the typical dealerships things come back. And don't get me wrong, I know they are looking to make money, as they should and have the right to do. However, we arrived (thankfully with a battery I purchased) but we didn't know we even needed a battery to leave. Thankfully I brought mine but I had no mount for it yet and we had to pay out of pocket to get a battery box. They got a good deal but I likely would have brought my own things to do it. Or at least let us know we needed it before negotiating to ensure we can even pull the trailer out of the lot. The finance portion was the most mixed thing, as per usual. Jorge was very nice and helpful. We weren't in there for too long. However, when it came the warranty and service contract issues, this is where things go back to the same old same old. Jorge showed us options for additional protection and had his discounts. Also showed us the ceramic coating that the vehicle could have on. It was impressive, admittedly, and the wife was pretty convinced it was a nice add.We declined the other two things offered but decided to do the coating as we will be keeping the RV outside 100% of the time and are under trees that drop a lot of debris. My wife asked if we needed to keep the RV here to get it added and come to find out it's already added. They all have it if it's ready for your pickup, you're just paying for the warranty portion. This was, shrewdly, not offered as an add + warranty. Again, this is on us for perhaps not asking that question earlier, but we likely would have changed thoughts if we knew it was there. I don't care about the warranty portion nearly as much as the coating itself. We thought we were paying for new labor and materials but literally paid for the warranty. My fault, but not something I expected from a place that "does things differently here" The rest of everything was great. I don't want to bash this place because through most of the process, they seem a lot better than most dealerships out there. This costly mistake on my end was a lesson learned going forward. Will I continue to look for my next RV at Mike Thompson at Colton, yes of course. Will I be a bit smarter about the add ons, yes of course. read more

We have been searching for a 5th wheel for a while now and decided since the Colton location had the 3 we narrowed it down to, we would go there. We were first greeted by Gwen. She was very nice and inviting. She then passed us off to Ryan. Ryan spent hours with us the first time we were there answering all of our questions about all of the different rigs. Ryan is honest, laid back and kind. Not pushy at all. When we decided we were ready to purchase went back and Curtis and Clifford were extremely helpful in getting us taken care in the finance department. This rating is for Fernando in Service. We had just gotten to our campsite to setup and our slide out wouldn't budge. It was the end of the day on a Friday night so everyone in service was gone for the weekend but the manager reached out to Fernando to try to walk us through a repair. Unfortunately everything we tried didn't work. Fernando was determined to get us right and drove an hour and a half super late at night to help us out. He spent over two hours working on it and didn't give up till it was complete. So thankful for him and his tenacity to get the job done. If it wasn't for him, we would have had to go home early. Our experience here was horrible. It was a constant game of manipulation trying to squeeze every last drop of money from me. I will never deal with this place ever again. we were constantly played with through the entire process. The shinning light through all the darkness was Kyle adkins the orientation technician. Approximately a year ago, I took my 38 foot, 2016 Holiday Rambler Ambassador to Mike Thompson RV in Colton. They called me and wanted to put it on consignment, as they saw my ad in RV Trader. I agreed and took my clean, ready to sell, RV to them. While there, I went back and had it worked on and the front chairs and sofa reupholstered. I even called a few months ago and offered a $3500.00 commission to the salesperson who sold it! Last week, I went and picked up my RV as it had not sold. Well...no wonder it did not sell! It as filthy inside and out! Some of the compartments were full of trash and leaves! The sound bar and Wally receiver for Dish were stolen out of the RV. They gave it back to me this way and did not say anything about the theft or condition! I called them twice before I got a call back. Response...sorry..I'll talk to my manager....now crickets. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MIKE THOMPSON RV IN COLTON! So disappointed. I have spent the last week and a half cleaning, washing, waxing, having a mechanic check fluids etc... We recently purchased a Newmar Baystar from MTRV in Colton. Tomas, our salesman was the BEST salesperson I've ever dealt with for any type of purchase. He really listened to all that we said and asked. For example, we were concerned about the amount of storage, so as we viewed the inside of the rv, he opened all the storage compartments outside. In addition he even opened the sofa bed and lowered the upper bunk. He was very thorough and answered all of questions and concerns. He was humble enough to say he didn't have the answer to a couple of questions, and as we viewed the rv, he stepped aside and called Newmar directly to get the answers. He escorted us through each step and explained each step of the purchasing process. We forgot to pick up the "welcome box" of supplies when we picked up the rv. Beware of Mike Thompson RV - Especially if You're a Senior In 2021, I purchased a 5-year extended warranty from Mike Thompson RV with the clear understanding that if I sold the RV before the five years were up, I would receive a prorated refund. We sold our RV in early 2025--after four years--and submitted a refund request in February. As of now, we have yet to receive a single dollar back. What's even more troubling is that this seems to be a pattern. Mike Thompson RV has a history of taking advantage of senior citizens, promising refunds and then failing to follow through. The lack of communication and accountability is deeply disappointing and feels exploitative. If you're considering doing business with this company, especially as a senior, I strongly urge you to think twice. Their promises are not always honored, and getting your money back may be more difficult than it should be. read more

So I just invested a large chunk of change in a new 5th wheel trailer. The 23MLE Cougar=its nice! Jonathan was the sales person was good, calm personality and sold it well. Crossland was the walk through guy, he was entertaining and extremely helpful. They had a fun poker game, that lead to a 5% off at their parts shop, we probably would have bought some sew equipment for our new trailer if they offered 20% or so... We love our 5th wheel, pulls great, better MPGs than pulling the trailer. Perfect for the wife and I, and the dogs. Cougar makes a great trailer, we got a 280Ah LiFePO4 battery and it works great with the 440i solar. We got the Pullrite autoslide and that works really well=no complaints. Feel free to ask about the trailer. We took it out on a nice vacation shortly after we got it and encountered a few things wrong/ minor defects. Going with a new trailer, and spending the $ for the extended warranty, we'll see how it goes. More to come. read more
