In November of 2024 my insurance and their adjuster recommended this shop to repair the damage to my vehicle after someone tried to steal it from my home. I took my vehicle to them for an estimate and length of time for repairs. It took them over a month for the repairs, through Thanksgiving and Christmas. They said it was because they found more problems and had to contact the insurance company and because of the holiday season. A part of the radio system was lost and they tried to blame it on the tow truck operator after they couldn't find it. They did shabby work. Even if your insurance company recommends them, do not take your vehicle to them. read more

I won't be back. I was very familiar with Foothill Foreign and wanted to give the owner @ Save On my business. What started out as a courteous relationship did not end that way. My car had many things to be fixed or worked on. They offered shuttle service since they needed my car all day, which was appreciated and they also gave the AAA discount, which helped even though the work done was quite pricey. They ended up needing my car another day, so I set an appointment. When I arrived, they apparently did not have record of it. I left the car and arranged for a ride back before closing, even though I didn't receive an update call. I wrongly assumed they worked on it. The car was not touched. I had an upcoming out of town trip planned and so it was planned with them to drop off, they would have it 5 days and be done when I returned back home. No such thing. When I got home and called about my car, they scrambled with excuses and said they don't work on weekends, etc. I said I realize that, but you've already had it several days including the one day they never touched it and I had not received status updates while away on the critical repair they were to do. They only scrambled to work on my car that morning I called to come get it. They did not complete the work, and I was treated rudely by Dave the owner, with an attitude that the dealer doesn't have the part, no ETA and basically, we don't care and too bad for you. Phone calls to find the part only took place the morning I called. He was upset that I questioned why they hadn't touched it when it was specifically set up with that timing sufficient for them to complete the job. There was also a discrepancy between the items they did do on my first visit and the items reported completed to CarFax Car Care. My business did not seem important to them at this point, and it seemed like they were hiding something from me and not being truthful about their oversight. It was very disappointing as I really felt they were of the same caliber as the previous owners of Foothill Foreign. I would not recommend them to my friends or family. read more

You hear about these things, but never think it would happen to you** I was having issues with my car so I brought it in for a diagnostics. I found this place online, and it was my first time. There was a black gentleman who came in right before me, the lady at the front counter, Desiree, told him it would 169 for a diagnostics. When she got to me, I explained that my car was acting odd and she said "just like him, it's gonna be 169." I said okay, and sat down to wait. Another gentleman(appeared Caucasian) came in about 5 minutes later to drop his car off, and said "I spoke to someone on the phone and they said my diagnostics was gonna be 84." Shocked at the amount, I waited for them to finish their transaction before asking her about it. He said there was something wrong with his starter or charging system, and she told him "Well we're gonna do a full diagnostics because we don't know if it's actually the charger or something else." After they finished talking, I told her "you said his diagnostics was 84 but you told me and the black gentleman before me that it was 169." She responded "well his is a 'charging' diagnostics" and I reminded her "you just told him you don't know if it's actually the charger", so you're doing a full diagnostics. She had no rebuttal and couldn't lie because the gentleman she told it to was still standing there. I asked for my keys back and left. Desiree is a representation of the business and THIS is how they treat black customers. You have no Corporate office to hold you accountable, so who knows how long you've been overcharging non-black customers. This location has scammed myself and my 70 old year old mother with cancer. We became customers when it was Foothill Foreign Auto. It is under new ownership. They are rude, overpriced, and do not care about customers. They are disrespectful and they seem to harassing people who have questions about their business or feedback they do not like. They yelled at my elderly mother and were constantly making her feel scared. We left a review stating our stand point as customers and after 15 plus years of being a customer, instead of mending the issue, they choose to discriminate against us who have an eye open for good business. Speechless. Honestly,not a review I wanted to write. Been here a couple times to get some small repairs done and a Smog Check. The ladies at the front always so nice. Anyways, I took it in to get a leak checked out, it seemed to be a coolant leak. When I received the bad news that it was gonna be nearly $1600 to replace the radiator, thermostat and a pump. I didn't know what to do so I called my regular mechanic ,who is farther away, and he told me that he would only charge me half to get it done. When my regular mechanic checked everything out, He only charged me $75. He saved me nearly $1500. I am definitely not trying to ruin their business but I would get a second opinion. I had a major service done on my older Honda last week. Ran perfectly for the short drive home, but when I went to start it the next evening, the engine was misfiring. I called the following morning. Much concern expressed by Angie. And she said to have it towed in. AND since I was a valued and trusted customer, I didnt need to accompany my vehicle. 2 hours later tech called to tell me what had happened (something had come loose), it was a quick fix, and there was no charge. "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." Well, I feel humiliated because I trusted Save On Auto Care. The problem is my car goes into "Limp Mode" and the car stalls out. I was told it is $169.00 for a diagnostic inspection. I asked if that fee would get waived if they do the repairs. Brian said, "No and that I was paying for knowledgeable and experienced mechanics to find and fix the problem." They kept the car overnight to pinpoint the problem. The next day, I paid $474.79 and was assured the problem was fixed. I took the car home and the next day the car went back into "Limp Mode." Again, the same problem. Why did I pay for a diagnostic inspection if they were guessing. I went back to Save On Auto Care. This time they kept the car for two days to really find the problem. Well, the second time I paid $635.62 to have it "correctly fixed" and was told I did not get charged a second diagnostic inspection fee. Wow, really! I already paid for the misdiagnosis on the first visit. At least they let me split the last payment into two, but 12 days later the car went into "Limp Mode" and the problem was not fixed. Two visits and $1,110.41 later, the car still has the same problem! It's frustrating and expensive! I called Save On Auto Care looking for Brian and I was told Brian was not in. I spoke with David regarding the problem and conveyed my feelings of frustration and the expense of getting the problem fixed. All he said was "bring it in." Why would I do that if they are continuing with the guessing game of what the problem is at my expense. Twice they changed a part and reset the check engine light. I do not know how people can sleep at night, charging dealer prices but produce no results. I also understand they do not claim to be the cheapest in town. The people I spoke with are nice, but the mechanics knowledge is questionable. I have done sales and customer service for years and the motto has been, "Do it right the first time" and not at the customer's expense. If I could give no stars I would. The worst mechanic experience I have ever recieved in my life. My car broke down at 711, I had it towed by AAA to this location and they held it over the weekend before getting back to me. I told them what was wrong with the car on Friday, they had forgotten and called to ask me again on Monday. Then asked me if I possibly was trying to start the car with my spare key, like I'm some kind of idiot. Then they took it upon themselves to "recreate" the experience my car had breaking down since they couldn't figure out what was wrong at first. By this time of going back and forth I was dissatisfied with my experience and had plans to go to another mechanic. I told the manager this and she said I was free to come pick up my keys. She informed me that my car was AT 711 (again, where I originally had it towed FROM) as they DROVE IT THERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION to "test" it and it had broken down. They then LEFT MY CAR in 15 minute parking zone UNATTENDED in front of a business tow away zone and then gave me my keys without a word, basically giving me the vibe that it was my problem. I have never been so insulted in my life and the manager had the audacity to say she didn't know why I was dissatisfied with the experience. I filed a complaint through AAA and had it towed to the mechanic next door. On top of that, their proposed bill was over 1000. Stay away. EDIT: The owner said he had NOTHING to say about my experience. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I noticed he had plenty to say on other reviews that were negative but he hasn't bothered to counter mine. What a cowardly skeeve. Did I mention the owner of the 7/11 had already called in a tow for my car seeing as they ABANDONED IT?! Or that Angie the Manager said that it would be an additional 90.00 to tow my car back to their shop AFTER THEY DROVE IT BACK TO 7/11 TO BREAK DOWN IN THE FIRST PLACE? THE AUDACITY! I had a very positive experience with the PREVIOUS owner. NOT NOW! The current folks told me that my subaru wagon was finished--that it would be $4,200 to repair the disc breaks, rack and pinion fluid leak, shocks struts etc. In other words, time to get a new car. Not to worry! The helpful woman at the front desk told me they had me covered as they would sell me a fantastic used car at a fair price. I took my wagon to two other mechanics (both reputable businesses) and was informed that the car had lots of life left. The damage? $1,100 total. Save On Auto Care subscribes to the old adage, "Never give a sucker an even break." I suspect that they treat all consumers the same way, as prospective suckers! Very disappointed. Very sloppy work and I'm not sure how knowledgeable some of the mechanics are. We had several maintenance items done with our 2003 Subaru Forester in February of 2020, including replacement of the power steering pump, tuneup, hoses, and AC leak repair, total of $1,200, so not a small job. When we came to pick up the vehicle I got in it, backed up and drove 10 ft and realized that there was something wrong with the power steering as it was whining loudly and jerky. I don't know how they didn't notice that, and it wasn't just fluid level. I parked it and went back inside and I believe the head mechanic or owner David (?) came out and took a quick look at it and said it needed additional care. After they completed the repair the vehicle seemed fine. I opened the hood when I got back home and noticed they had left a pair of needle-nose pliers in the engine compartment. Fast forward several months, and I open the hood today to add some windshield washer fluid and noticed that they had taken off one of the fan belt shrouds and wedged it between the battery and the firewall and forgot to replace it. Sloppy work that could have made quite a mess if that part had slipped up against the belts. Very disappointing for an AAA approved shop. We won't be returning. read more

They will not jerk you around especially if you happen to be a girl. I will not let anyone touch my car unless it is David, Ryan, and the rest of the guys over at save on! They like to mess around and have fun, but when it comes to getting down to business they are #1 in my book. I dont understand the five stars here. My husband was going to get ripped off ... thank God i came into save the day. So they gave my husbad a quote for his brake service. Then they claimed that they couldnt guarantee that the car was going to be drivable after (WTF). Really? Ummm no ... took it to Firestone they fixed the truck the same day for a cheaper price . In my hunt for a local Star Certified Smog facility I stumbled upon thiz little gem in Upland. I came in to get my '01 Taurus checked. I found the location tucked behind Del Taco in the same driveway as the mattress shop. The lobby was clean and cozy and the manager, Ryan offered my daughter and I a cold bottle of water and the tv remote. They spoke very politely, professionally and properly too (hard to find in a lot of shop environments). When prices are already competitive in this business the quality of service and friendliness of staff is what differentiates one business from the next and Save On is doing just that.
