Great local hobby shop! We've been going here for years for vacuum parts, and watching the hobby side expand. I finally got the green light to do something more fun with my yard than watching weeds grow, so we built us a track and bought some cars... Mike was very helpful in getting us set up with trucks and electrics, and has answered more than a few questions that I had since things have changed in the 20 years or so that I've been out of the R/C scene. His prices are competitive. I'm sure I could save a few bucks by scouring the web (he does say he has everything matching online prices) but I would rather spend a few extra bucks to help the local guy be there for me, than spend the difference in fuel and time driving much further away or picking stuff up online where it's a crap shoot for support and a pain to return/warranty items. I recently had a charger go bad pretty much right out of the box, Mike took care of it on the spot... (Thanks Mike!) Customer service is everything! If your complaining about special order parts taking too long to get in, take into consideration we are in the middle of a major shutdown. Went into Mike's twice intending on spending $1000-1500 on a nice RC. It's a nice shop with lots of parts and RC vehicles. Spoke to the owner briefly who seemed nice. The first time the guy helping me suggested a truck and was pretty much done with me. They started getting busy so I decided to leave and do some research. The second visit I was lucky to have Brian help me and he was great and patient enough to answer my questions. We had a decent repore and he helped me narrow my choice down to 3 vehicles. At this point I was ready to make a decision and leave with a new RC. Then the guy who had helped me on my first visit jumped in, bullied Brian and annoyed me by taking words out of context and being argumentative. No people skills, unaware, and definitely does not know how to sell. I didn't catch his name. Brian races and so dies this guy. Beware Drone Pilots! This store is tailored for RC Cars hobbyists. The staff is extremely unfriendly towards drone pilots and they get offended if you're educated about your hobby. They constantly try to one-up you with keywords or terminology when in actuality they hardly know anything about the hobby. The owner is always too busy to spend time answering questions. They didn't even know what FPV Freestyle is! I'm a professional video production drone pilot and live locally. I decided to make this my home spot for drone parts but I've since decided to take my business somewhere else after multiple terrible experiences. I wanted to purchase parts for a Racing Drone I use for FPV freestyle and wanted to give Mike's my money (even with their profit margins) to support local business. The counter person found the parts in their computer system but said he could not order them and refused to order them. I literally took money out and asked if they wanted it, but still they refused to order the parts. They had a Racing Drone frame in the used/trade-in section so I offered $300 cash for it, even though it was only a $200 frame. They refused to tell me how much it was, even though I heard them saying it was for sale on a separate visit. They never told me a price. We live in Hemet and go to Mike's quite a bit as he always has what we need in stock for our buggy'sand Truggy's! We had to have our vacuum repaired and we took it to him and he was fast efficent and my old clunker vacuum hasn't missed a beat since his repair!! Totally reccomend!! read more

Mike is a really friendly local high end RC hobby shop owner! He's helpful and tries his best to make his customers happy! At the moment his store is a little understaffed and he struggles trying to serve all of his customers. However I'm fine with that because he puts his full effort into everything he does with a spring in his step! His jokes are pretty funny too! people in their hobby shop greeted me with open arms ...i bought 3rc cars ..an a drone ...the gentleman told me it was a racing drone i said ok ...took it home ...charged it turned it on ..it was hovering for a second i tryed controlling it .could get it to stop ...quickly realized i could not control it ...out of my league cleaned it put it back in the case took it directly back up to them ...was asked at the store if i needed help ...the gentleman said did i fly it ...i was honest and said yes one time no scratches no marks clean as it was when i bought it ...oh you used it he .said ...i replied yes but realized with in ten seconds it was out of my league...thats why im here to hopefully replace it with something i can control...oh well its used we cant return it ....also me and my son both purchased rc cars brand new power packs ...my sons brand new charger doesnt even work ...40 .oo is what they charged me ?for the charger 199.00 plus tax for the drone so they smooth got me for 250 plus with no empathy? whats? the point if it dont matter to the store why even try customer service ...they make you feel as if your below them was showed real quick how important my situation was not at all ..the worst hobby shop i have ever visited ..guys were rude ...totally judged me by appearance and not on my merritt i and understanding of hiobby s just excuse my french as##oles...dont recommend...half star review.... lk read more

Bought a Traxxas Rustler 4x4 VXL yesterday and I'm stoked!!! The sales guy was very knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me in my purchase. I used to run Nitro trucks years ago and after doing my research online I went down to my local Hobby shop and picked up a silly electric model that halls ass right out of the box. The staff is solid. They seem to know their stuff. The store itself has a great selection. My reason for 3 stars is that they are overpriced. I just bought an Arrma Big Rock CC last week and it was $50 higher than anywhere else. I didn't realize it until a few days later. It's my fault for not checking the price at the time but I was admittedly excited about getting my new toy. My goal in buying here was to support small business but pricing like this makes me want to order online. Im from out of town and I stopped into this shop today to see if they could help me fix my traxxas stampede. They asked me whats wrong with it? I told them it turns on and the steering works but it has no forward or reverse throttle. The guy then told me well you can leave it here but were backed up for two weeks. I told him I'm only here for another day and would like to take my nephew to drive it. They basically said we can't help you go on you tube. I told them I tried that already I think somethings broken. Well you can leave it here and we will get to it in 2 weeks. Again I said I'm leaving in 2 days. Well try YouTube at this point i said okay have a nice day. Now I was ready to drop a few hundred dollars if needed , but they apparently they had all the business they needed at the moment. I'm new to the RC world but have found the guys at Mike's to be some of the best I've dealt with in any aspect of business as far as customer service is concerned. I've dealt with every employee that I've seen work there and they're all great. Chad especially has gone above and beyond to help me out. I've gotten discounts without asking, I've gotten the cheaper part when it's not necessary to get the more expensive part with explanation. I've had things get fixed with no charge. Not happy with this place at all. Will never come here again either. Called Mike over the phone and asked if he could type in a particular number on google search engine and I read the number off to him. (which was only 4 numbers.) I know for a fact that the numbers would work as far as giving him websites that would show specs and details of the battery that way he could help me find a charger. He then quickly, without even trying to do what I asked of him, tells me that the number doesn't help him and he can't help me via phone. Then went on to say I would need to come in to match the battery that I had to the correct charger. I told him I didn't want to waste a 30 minute drive out there that's why I was doing it over the phone but he said they would have it no problem just bring it in. I end up going in and Mike has no idea what the battery is, what it serves or where is inventory is for all his batteries nor what battery charger matches it. Then tells me I'll have to go online and buy it but thanks for coming to us and giving us a try. HORRIBLE customer service and a total lack of attempt to create a possible sale/ future customer since I was in there to look into buying a new nitro car as well. I will never come back to this store and I'm sure this place will not remain in business with this type of service. I went in yesterday to mikes hobby, and it was a wonderfully experience. The staff is very friendly and cool, and they know what they are taking about. Shout out to Chad, a very cool guy, he fixed my battery in a very quick time for a good price, and to top it all off, they have a ton of cars in the shop to walk around and look at when your waiting for your repair to finish. I saw a review that said that they were rude and disrespectful or something but that's not even true, the guys there were very professional the whole time. If you go in there and start cussing to the staff of coarse they will seem rude when they tell you to get out of the store, so don't believe those negative reviews. I've been interested in getting a starter drone and hopefully moving up to one of the big boy ones. I came here on a Saturday afternoon as I was in the area. It's a small shop but with plenty of parts in stock from rc cars/trucks, boats, and drones. I was greeted by one of the employees and told him what I was looking for which was a beginner drone with capability of flying in and outdoors. I don't want a camera since most low end drones have poor video quality. The one he recommended, another employee was able to demonstrate it in store. Initially it look powerful enough that I won't need to upgrade too soon, if I get the hang of flying. They also showed me why they recommended it which has durable parts and blade guards. Also, for $40 it's not a big loss if things don't work out. The employee was extremely informative and also offered to modify the blades before I left the store. I would definitely be back if I need a better drone or choose a different hobby. read more
