The food is pretty good, but I specifically chose them because I was under the impression that there was no delivery charge. It states on the menu that there is a minimum of $7.50 (and I spent way more than that) and that you will have to pay tax, but no mention of a delivery charge. So, the problem is, by the time you pay that and give the driver a tip, you spent an extra $5. Not so sure I will order again. Do yourself a favor and drive to the next (any other) sub shop that's open. Mike's is so awful it's unforgiving. Soggy, greasy subs are the norm. Ask for extra cheese.. lucky if they put ANY on it. Most recently, and our last time ordering from there, we ordered two (one large, one small) steak & cheese subs with onions, extra cheese and toasted, knowing how greasy they are - but like everyone who goes there we just didn't feel like driving to someplace good. So, we received them sans the onions, one slice of cold cheese American cheese split in thirds placed on the roll and the grease filled steak-um substance drizzled on top. I've seen wet sponges less soggy than these abominations. If your a 12 year old eating high school style Elio's Pizza after school, by all means go here. If you value your taste buds and wallet, drive past this place and find anyone else, you'll be grateful I swear. They won't allow me to choose zero stars, the one star here is two stars more than they deserve. read more

Mike's Pizza recently moved across the street from its old location and nearly doubled in size. The inside is fresh and unlike anything else in Rockland, let alone the standard fare pizzeria and sub shop it was before. It looks like it belongs on Nantasket Ave with its surf shack theme. The cool blue and neon green against a clean sandy earth-tone wooden floor pop - it's modern, it's simple, and it's different. Walls are adorned with humorous signs, surf boards and other beach items, and a shark head with a "politician" in its jaws, which gets me every time. There is a lot of room for seating, with plenty of booth seating. It's comfy and laid back. I am a frequent customer in the summer, often stopping during my exercise routine for lunch, so the cook and some of the wait staff know my usual order and are friendly to me. I usually get a grilled chicken club sub (bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo,) toasted. The lettuce is always crisp and thin-sliced, and I am a huge fan of how they marinate their chicken. The bacon is crispy, but not dry and overdone. Other favorites of mine are the turkey cobbler, which combines Thankgiving sides into a tasty sandwich, although I like adding lettuce to mine; their steak bomb is juicy and I had no problem with gristle in the meat; their pan pizzas have a strong crust which doesn't limp over when you pick up a slice. I felt that the time I got a Greek salad, it was a little heavy on the feta cheese, but otherwise fresh and enjoyable. They are usually speedy in service even under high order volume, both in delivery and sit-in. They usually deliver faster than the time estimate they give you over the phone. One of the times I did eat in with my fiance and ordered pizza, they let us know right away they had an oversight in my pizza and there would be a delay as they corrected it, which I felt was courteous as opposed to giving it to me without half of my toppings. While waiting, I did try out his barbeque chicken pizza, where the sauce was drizzled all over and each bite was rich with flavor. When they had completed my order to request, the pizza was piping hot out of the oven, fresh, coated evenly in tender bits of steak, pepper, and onion, and it was absolutely delicious. They did not just cook the other toppings separately and let the rest of the pizza sit and cool to make up for lost time and ingredients. That is excellent service in my book. There was one night we entered about 20 minutes before close, and were still served - some businesses can be finicky about this. I tried out their fried calamari platter, which I got with a marinara dipping sauce and fries. It was about the quality you would expect from a formal, run-of-the-mill seafood restaurant, and I really liked it for more reasons than just that. I felt that this kind of food was just what the town needed. There are enough cafes, Greek, Italian, and Chinese eateries in town, but little in the way of seafood. Currently, it seems that they only have most things available fried, although they do have baked fish and grilled shrimp as options. You would have to still go out of your way if you wanted something more exotic than what they have to offer, but it's still nice to see them expanding in this direction. Cakes, brownies, fried ice cream, fried twinkies, and cookies make up their dessert selection. I have not tried any of these yet; I do remember in the old store they'd have some of their desserts, such as the cheesecake, pre-sliced and displayed at the front counter and ready to go on request, and it did look tempting. Their coolers have water, sodas, juice, iced tea, and Gatorade, and it's always well-stocked. Beer and wine are available for adults dining in, but I have not inquired about it and do not know which beers and wines they offer. Noise levels are usually low when I go there. It is popular with students after school so it can get crowded in the afternoon, but for the most part, the kids are mature. Recommended for inexpensive family dining both in and out. I have yet to have a truly negative experience here after dozens of visits over the last 3 years. read more

In light of the coronavirus and the stay-at-home order, I have been reluctant to try any take-out. My husband and I decided to support Mike's Pizza, one of our favorite local eateries for our first take-out meal. I ordered my food online and went to pick it up wearing a mask and gloves. I was appalled to see that neither of the two women behind the registers were wearing a mask or gloves nor were any of the other employees. I asked one woman why she wasn't wearing a mask or gloves. She said she had sanitizer under the counter. I watched this woman complete multiple transactions without once using the sanitizer. She took credit cards from patrons and handed them back without any regard for the germs she could potentially be passing along. I found that the establishment and its employees were irresponsible and reckless and took no precautions to safeguard their loyal patrons from the spread of the coronavirus. Mike's Pizza needs to establish some guidelines such as curbside pickup and prepay online but first and foremost it most demand its employees wear masks and gloves. The coronavirus will be with us for a while and Mike's Pizza needs to take the threat seriously. read more

So bummed! I've been getting mikes chicken broccoli and Ziti for over 10 years and tonight was was the worst pasta entree I think I've ever had. I ordered through door dash because I was stuck doing homework, the pasta dish didn't have the melted cheese on top, the pasta was so soggy you couldn't even pick it up with a fork, the sauce was plopped on top I tried doctoring up the dish myself and re cooking it but the pasta was so over cooked as it is so it ended up in the trash. Wish I could select zero stars. Monday, 4:50PM - I called and placed an order. Person taking the order read it back to me to verify. She once again read the order back to me when I picked it up. When I got home, it was incorrect. I called, now at 5:14PM to allow The fine people at Mikes to correct the mistake. Upon talking to the manager, she assured me the correct order would be delivered to me. This would have been sufficient. However, by 6:00 I still had not seen a delivery person. Hungry, tired, and frustrated, I drove the 1 mile back to Mikes (they are literally down the street) to inquire about my order. The delivery boy had it in his car. The girl behind the counter says "I'm sorry we just got so busy" to which I replied "I don't care. I placed my order over an hour ago and live less than 5 minutes from here." Furious, hungry, and extremely disappointed, I asked for my money back. I took my refund and left, never to return. Conclusion? -lack of courtesy, communication, professionalism, and a failure to provide services in a timely fashion have cost this place not just my business, but that of my entire family's as well. Sorry, Mikes, I WAS a regular, won't be back for a while. Since moving to their new location across the street, things have gone downhill. First: use to LOVE the staff. There has been a great deal of turnover and the new peeps have NO personality, confidence or intelligence. (sorry!) Two weeks in a row they forgot my salad, and once I had to ask for it THREE times. More importantly the food has gone from quite good to poor. The only food that seems to be served hot now is the pizza. French fries, onion rings, sandwiches have all been room temperature. I ordered their new stuffed mushrooms for my dinner, not only were they not hot, but they weren't cooked. The cook insisted that they are a fully cooked product (so they aren't even MADE there), but they were gummy and pretty disgusting. They offered my $ back, but that took more than 10 minutes for them to figure out....while my family ate their dinner without me. They didn't even bother to ask if I wanted something else. You've lost a costumer, Mike's. Maybe when we try ye again (IF) you'll have gotten your act back in gear. read more

My wife and I ordered a pizza and some mozzarella sticks to go...I called my order in at 8:07pm from my home in Hanover and drove over to pick it up....A woman took my money and told me it would be a few minutes more to wait...The woman who took my order told me it would be ready in 15 minutes...I continued to wait about ten more minutes and asked the woman behind the counter jokingly if they forgot about me and she said it was almost ready and offered me a free 2 liter bottle of pepsi for my inconvenience ...I continued to wait another 10 to 15 minutes and watched numerous happy customers come in and leave with various orders...At that time I was not a happy customer and inquired as to what was the problem with my order? The woman behind the counter walked over to where I assume they make the pizza's and came back with a slip telling me that I ordered my pizza at 8:25pm and It hasn't been as long as I stated and my pizza would be out in less than a minute which was the only truthfull statement she had made so far...A gentleman finally gave me my pizza and apologized to me...I took my pizza to my car and returned to the restaurant with my cell phone and showed him that I ordered my pizza at 8:07pm and not at 8:25pm like the lady had stated to me....The gentleman then said to me that the girl who took my order screwed up and offered to discount my order...I informed him that if someone had just told me when I got there this would not have been a problem! Whatever happened to the customer is always right? And in this case the customer just wanted a half cheese, half buffalo chicken pizza! Something almost every pizza place I've ever ordered from has gladly done, but I was told the owner "didn't want mixed sauces on pizzas" but the last time I checked I was the one eating the pizza, not the owner. I understand that their specialty pizzas cost more, but I also was expecting to pay the price of the speciality pizza even if half was plain cheese. I stopped eating hear for a few years because they couldn't get a take out order right. There was always something missing or the order was completely wrong. Never once do they offer to deliver the correct order. Literally 4 out of 5 times this place can't get your order correct. If your getting take out good luck.
