Mike's Place is a neat spot to stop at for breakfast or lunch/dinner. There are different themes running throughout the joint. We got the Irish-themed room, and we were literally closed off from the other tables, which made the location feel intimate and private. I went with chorizo tacos for breakfast, and they were delicious. The menu is vast, with fun plate names that incorporate pop culture and jokes. I want to come back to Mike's to try some additional items off the menu and see what cool seating I can get next time.

40 min wait time but absolutely worth it. Started off with the ruban balls witch where amazing covered in Swiss and 1000 island dressing. Wings were good too got the honey mustard. We got the BBQ appetizer sampler got a big portion of pulled pork 2 big slices of brisket half slab of ribs and 2 sides. The bbq here is amazing You can totally smell and taste the smoke like a nod to the barbecue sauce as well cuz it's a separate flavor that kind of just meshes really well with it some of the best barbecue that I've ever had. Everything had such amazing flavor I've never had food like this before they really take their time. Literally compliments to the chefs. So special thanks for Taylor for making our experience wonderful she was in attentive server and took care of all of our needs. Super casual dining experience with cool decorations made the dining experience complete.

Mad About Mike's: A Wild Food Adventure in Kent, Ohio This week, we pointed our compass northeast toward Akron/Kent, Ohio in search of something weird, wild, and wonderfully delicious--and landed right in front of a full-sized Star Wars X-Wing fighter jet. That can only mean one thing: Mike's Place. I'd seen the social media buzz, and finally had to see for myself what this legendary roadside gem was all about. Spoiler alert: it's part restaurant, part museum, part fever dream--and entirely awesome. From the second you pull into the parking lot, your eyes are working overtime. The outside is a playground of pop culture, and the inside is a visual overload of vintage signs, oddball décor, and photo-worthy moments in every direction. This isn't just a meal--it's an experience. Once seated, we were greeted by Stacie, our awesome and enthusiastic waitress. Sensing we were first-timers (possibly tipped off by the giddy camera use), she gave us the lowdown on the six-page menu packed with offbeat names and bold, imaginative eats. This place has fun, but make no mistake--they take their food seriously. My wife went with the slider sampler--four mini cheeseburgers topped with grilled onions and Thousand Island dressing. Simple, satisfying, and gone before I could steal a bite. I, on the other hand, went full flavor bomb with something called The Mad Hungarian--Philly steak meat, ham, provolone, and grilled onions, all kicked up a notch (as recommended) with creamy coleslaw piled inside. I cut it into thirds just to make it more manageable--and yes, I still added fries. No regrets. When I casually mentioned I was a chef, Stacie lit up and said her son is too. She surprised us with a house salad on the house so I could sample their homemade dressings. And let me tell you, these are not your basic bottles from the back shelf. The bleu cheese was bold, the garlic ranch was perfectly balanced, and the sleeper hit? A tangy-sweet white French that we both agreed was the winner. The food was rich, creative, and absolutely lived up to the hype. That Mad Hungarian? Might be one of the best hot sammies I've had in a long time. And with Stacie's tip that they're known for their Reubens, you better believe I'm already planning round two. If you're ever cruising through northeast Ohio, don't miss Mike's Place in Kent. Come hungry, come curious, and come ready for an unforgettable bite of roadside Americana. Take the trip--you'll be glad you did.

Mike's place was fun. It's very eclectic, but can be overwhelming especially the menu there were so much on the menu! But everything that we got was good. I got the Ruben and sweet potato fries. Both were amazing. It was probably the second best Ruben I've ever had, the first one being on Wall Street at a little dive place in New York City. We came with a group of eight and they seated us in about 30 minutes. I just wish that they had a wider variety of draft beer. They had a ton of IPAs. Also, the prices on everything were really really reasonable, especially in today's economy.

Wild environment, super fun and overwhelming lol service was okay, we were in the bus outside so a bit cold and think easy to get forgotten about out there. The menu is HUGE-look before you go haha. Prices are great, especially because the portions are generous! Food was cooked perfectly and delicious. I'd definitely come back again to try lunch!

We came back, and brought friends with us this time. We just had to share this place! It was their first time here and they really enjoyed it. We dined in a booth that was built into a former boat. Really cool! We reviewed the 6 page menu and decided on our meals. I got the Captain Jack fish sandwich and fries, my wife chose the Shrimp tacos and broccoli. My friend ordered an absolutely huge Reuben sandwich with a side of onion rings, and his wife opted for a Chef's salad. We all enjoyed our good, while marveling at the atmosphere of the restaurant. If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely try it out!

Sabrina's Demented Friends Burger

Fun retro atmosphere, with very friendly service and awesome food. The place for outside to inside is very eye catching and adds to the whole retro vibe of the place. The food was very good, the menu is very big though, but that's means you can't say u can't find something for you on the menu. Sabrina's Demented Friends Burger was amazing, a double patty burger, which they cooked perfectly to medium, had rich peanut butter on one bun, which was nicely toasted, balanced with sweet apple butter on the other bun, the crispy salty bacon and onion rings balanced the sweetness and tied the whole giant burger together. The fires are also very good, crispy and not too salty. For all this food the prices are very good.

Cool exterior vibes

It's ok, I haven't been disappointed but I don't think the food is worth the price. I could eat better somewhere else

I had my eye on this place for a bit but hadn't had an opportunity to check it out yet. Came here…read moreand met some family. There were 5 of us and a baby. They were able to immediately accommodate us. Lots of booths and seats, kitchen on the side and restrooms in back. Menu is rather large. Lunch items and Bfast items are available all times which is good! They have lots of homemade everything. From the menu it seems very healthy and good choices. You can get the traditional bfast or you can opt for sandwich, bowl, burrito. Lots of options. I got the black squirrel sandwich. It was very good. And not small. I got a side of home fires which were chunks of potato that were crispy on all sides. Dry but good. They also have hash browns which are shredded. You get lots of side options with your meal. Plus we do have a GF people and they have a lot of GF choices. Everyone else got a few other things like a Reuben sandwich, full Bfast, short stack of pancakes, and everyone was very happy with their choices. My sandwich was very good. Service was friendly and good. Prices are about medium. 2 people will cost with drinks and tip somewhere around $35-$40 or so. Parking is right in front. This is a definite return.

I don't have much to say... Greasy spoon but with high prices. Food quality and taste was okay…read more Service was okay. Ambiance was okay. I guess I just expect a little more when paying $50 for lunch for two.
