We LOVE this place. Came into town late on a Thursday evening when almost everything was closed this time of year. We're staying in egg harbor but this was a close drive and looked promising. Little did we know that we would stumble upon the perfect dive bar feel with such awesome staff. Mike's was taken over by new management in September 2021 and these boys have done a great job with the place! We were the only patrons, but we had an awesome bartender (Scottie) who was so personable and gave some great recommendations. Beer was cold, and the food was hot!! Love the cauliflower bite appetizer. My cheeseburger was also the ideal bar burger. Could not have asked for anything more! They are renovating in the month of March and it sounds like the construction is going to be totally worth it. Peak season is typically much busier and there is outdoor seating. The guys that run this place are super great and we definitely plan to come back! They own the lodging right next door, too, which would be very convenient next trip! Their location is fantastic right by the beach and so many other activities.

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Mike's Port Pub. We chose this restaurant because it was one of the only places open on Tuesday. The restaurant is small and unassuming, but it has an intriguing menu that offers something for everyone! The portions are huge and offer a lot of bang for your buck. Our entire group had leftovers to spare. The service was great, too. We went on a busy night and were a little worried to see only one server, but he was perfectly attentive and speedy.

I so wanted to give this place more stars. My friend wanted to go here for breakfast because it was really good, but we went on the one day they didn't have a cook so we had to order lunch at 10:30 in the morning. The poor girl who was bartending/cooking was alone and we think pulled a couple regulars back to help her cook. I understand being short staffed and she did come over once to check on us, but all of us had visable empty drinks and she never asked us if we wanted anything else while we were waiting. The soup was good, but everything else was subpar. I'd probably only come here for a drink next time.

Broasted chicken was cooked perfectly! My burger was amazing! Bloody Mary was yummy and service was great! This is the place where you always feel welcome! Will be on our favorites list!!

People need to realize that great people know good food, drinks (non alcoholic if that is your choice), and food (did I mention the food twice?). Mike's is one of the best around. If you are on your way to the "cooler" spots of the peninsula give Jacksonport a stop. You will not be disappointed. In addition, breakfast is amazing. Huge portions and exactly what you need to start up your day.

Upon arrival we could see that the hostess or floor manager I am not sure which position she held was a little snappy and a little under pressure which of course is not the best way to start dinner. Upon sitting down after about a 20 minute wait we opened up our napkins and noticed that there was a hair and some dried or crusty food on a few of our napkins. The salt shakers look like they haven't been replaced since the creation of the facility however if I digress the food was very good and after being seated we waited for about 15 to 20 minutes before a server came to us but she was phenomenal once she took our table. We would try them again but I hope from a hygiene perspective they take a little bit more pride in cleaning the utensils and amenities throughout the restaurant

Seeing the ad coincided nicely with a planned Door County wedding anniversary day trip for my wife and I. It seems every time we visit Door County we are always traveling the west side of the peninsula. Mr. G's is on the east side and right on Hwy 57. This worked nicely in forcing us to drive south from Sister Bay with a focus on hitting Mr. G's. This place is definitely an old school Wisconsin supper club. Pretty certain the building hasn't had a full remodel in years and why would you when you have that classic look going on. Retro is coming back. So what makes a supper club. Sitting at the bar having an old fashioned or two. A cheese & cracker tray and in this case chips/salsa as well. A pre meal salad bar of course is a must for a true supper club. For our entrees we went with the full rack of ribs and the ribeye. My wifes steak was prepared just as ordered and had a hint of buttery goodness with each bite. They boast award winning ribs. They were fall off the bone tender with excellent flavor. The ribs come with two sauce choices (cherry flavor & original). I went with the classic and was pleased with the spice. My wife also ordered her entree with the potato pancakes which is not something always offered as an option. Our waitress Jean was attentive throughout and offered excellent input on the history of the restaurant and what to order. We had an excellent experience and may have to consider visiting the east side of the peninsula more often.

We loved hearing the history behind the fish boil and watching it come to life at the Old Post Office Restaurant! The dinner and experience was very reasonably priced at $30 per person and they offer options of fried chicken or ribs for those that don't care for fish. I'm (personally) not a big fish lover but I had to at least try it and it wasn't too bad! Dinner is also served with 3 different types of bread and a slice of delicious cherry pie! (Cherries are grown all over the peninsula). We sat outside on the front porch and watched the sun slowly set and the sky fill up with brilliant colors as we finished our dinner. I left with both my belly and heart as full as possible! We enjoyed the restaurant so much that I wanted to stop by on our way out of town, the last day, and try out their breakfast menu. I splurged and ordered the fresh cherry pancakes with a side of one egg and bacon. I planned to just eat half of my pancakes but I almost devoured them completely! My mouth is watering - several days later - as I am thinking about them and writing this review. I highly recommend the Old Post Office if you are in the area. Unfortunately you have to call the restaurant to make reservations but it's definitely worth the little bit of extra effort.
