Great daily dinner specials with broasted chicken/pork chop specials ($13.50) stacking on top of Tue/Wed/Thu/Sat. We got the 1/2 chicken on Thursday and came back for broiled whitefish ($15) and fried seafood combo ($20) on Friday (scallops, shrimp, perch, and whitefish). Was just one fried piece of whitefish in the combo, so getting it broiled wasn't overkill. Thursday soup was stuffed pepper was excellent but daily soup was out or not offered on Friday (chili is always available). In terms of veggies, pickings are slim as with anywhere. We were staying in Ephraim, so leave early and time it with the golden hour before sunset to get you to Valmy for dinner. For our party of three, we ordered 3 different things each time mixing entrees, soup, salad, appetizers to share and no issues of skipping a sharing charge. We ordered chicken wings, burger, and fish fry - perch. Everything was well seasoned. I like their wings, seasoned and batter. However, they didn't have buffalo sauce for dipping. We were greeted at the door and sat at the table in the back. This restaurant is on the left side of the bar and they close at 8pm. Bar will remain open until later. It's a little nice bar and food. I'm from out of town so I couldn't drink but the food is very wholesome Americana. It's the kind of food you would eat back in the 60s and 70s when you came home which your American mother would make. I'm another ethcity, but it made me feel like I was going into a home cooked meal. While in the area, we decided to try this place. Overall, highly impressed. The atmosphere of the place is welcoming and good. The tables were super clean. The service was awesome. The bartender waited on our table. He was super friendly and kind. He took really good care of us. As for the food, it was really good and tasty. The burgers/chicken sandwiches were pretty big! And the mozzarella sticks came with a large quantity. We all left the table satisfied. Also, all of the food is at a fairly reasonable price! The Happy Hour is the best. We started coming here 7 years ago when we started working on our property in Jacksonport. With three kids and busy days, we do dinner at The Happy Hour at least once every weekend we come up. The prices are really reasonable and the food is always hot and fresh. On a recent vacation to Door County I had a hankering for some crab legs. After a quick search we found out that on Wednesday's Valmy Happy Hours has ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB LEGS!!! My wife and I were a little shocked to find what was basically a bar that served crab legs. We were skeptical, but decided to try the crab anyways. We were both very glad we did. The crab was simply AMAZING! We were expecting tiny crab legs, but were blown away to find out we received nothing but rather large and meaty crab legs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with a craving for crab! The sides we of typical bar quality, but plentiful. For $19.95 each we got a hell of a good deal. The service was great. The waitress was the only person in the bar. She had to run the bar and the dining area and did a phenomenal job. The atmosphere is the only reason I gave Valmy's 4 stars instead of 5. It was a Towny bar/tavern and could use some updating/refreshing; however, you will see right past that when you enjoy the crab! read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would! Worst customer service we have ever had! We stopped here for a drink before our dinner reservation just down the road and we wish we had just gone right to our restaurant. When we walked in we were ignored by both bartenders. 3 other people walked in and sat down next to us that the bartenders must have known because they received a welcome and drinks even before they asked us what we would like. Finally we were waited on. Another couple walked in and wanted a table to eat. The owner said find a table and I'll get to you as soon as I can. Who treats customers like that! Friendly local bar and grill. The pan fried perch is my favorite but the burgers and pizzas are very good too. The Happy Hour is not a fancy place but the owners and staff are friendly, drinks are cold, food is very good, and the prices are very reasonable for Door County. I recommend getting there early on a Friday...the place fills up. Saturday is a bit easier to get a seat. Some of the negative reviews related to service, I believe are due to their staffing going into the busy season. I believe the owners are looking for additional summer help. First place we stopped at in Valmy. Went in was greeted great was seated and took a look at the menu was very impressed at the menu on the price side. Ordered a double 1/2 lb burger with raw onion and was knocked into a food coma of goodness!! My girl ordered a appetizer sampler and was stuffed as it had a load to eat. Little cute place we decided to stop at on our way to Cave Point. Wasn't expecting much but the food was delicious! I had the grilled chicken sandwich which was seasoned perfectly and very juicy. Crappy burgers, crappy drinks, crappy bar tenders. Heard there pizza was good. Was like a school lunch line burger. The gas station right next store has better food. They do brat frys and burgers fresh off the grill. Don't waste ur time or money. I hope to never go back again. read more
