My Butternut Squash Ravioli, mostly eaten. Delicious!
Christie C.

The restaurant itself is cute enough but in a strip mall in Wolf Ranch and somewhat hard to find. It's seat yourself and there's plenty of seating so that's nice. The menu isn't that extensive but they seem to have something for every one. On Wednesday, it's half off wine which is fabulous. However the options are only beer and wine, so this is not a full bar. As for the food, I'd rate it 7/10. The caprese salad appetizer lacked balsamic glaze and was more of a vinaigrette. The butternut squash ravioli with the white sauce was to die for. Would highly recommend this dish. Their risotto was okay but seemed like they didn't let the broth simmer enough over the Arborio rice as there was still some liquid in the bowl and the rice was still too hard. I know I'm being critical but I'm Italian and Italian food is kinda my thing. Overall I'd come back again and try different options. Service and staff were very nice and the bill seemed on par with the food.

Had a taste for some pasta....but not Olive Garden. Wife was searching while I was headed home from work. We went with the one that had the plates we usually go for. Walked in @ 7 and were greeted immediately by several of the staff. We were walked to the table without a wait. The place was smaller than I thought from driving by. It was very full. Lots of people. Very active conversations. Very "Hustle and Bustle" in the air. Sat and noticed the table wobbled but didn't mention it or even respond in a noticeable way @ all and the waiter noticed and fixed it immediately. WOW! I was impressed. Ordered the appetizer and a couple drinks to start while we looked over the menu. It was a bit much for me...many many pages of options. He returned with the appetizer and we ordered. He gave suggestions and was very friendly. They had trivia on the TV with a barcode you could scan to join and play. Pretty cool! Food came out hot! With a cold side salad that was made with house ranch I believe. Very tasty. The fettuccine was good. Creamy. Chicken was well seasoned. The manicotti was a first for me. I liked it. Very tomato basil based. Good cheese!!!! Overheard the owner talking with some fellow diners nearby and overheard he was from NY and so were they. Very nice convo was had judging by a few words here and there being overheard. Seemed like a great guy and they both said the food they ordered was very good. We ordered a couple cannolis after we finished eating. Very sweet filling. A bit tough to get to without making a big crumby mess everywhere but we managed. Very pleased. Bill was $78 something... Paid and went for a walk to Target to get some groceries and head home. Very nice spot, nice staff, serviceable and authentic Italian dinner for 2. Would recommend and will definitely return to try the breakfast menu. Favorite of the night was the bruschetta and the rolls! Give it a shot!

We stopped in while doing a bit of shopping, and what a pleasant surprise! I have been looking for an Italian place like this. It is small and quiet, great for a romantic meal! If you have time, stop in or grab it to go! My daughter got the Chicken Pesto Farfella, and my husband and I regretted not getting it. By far the best thing at the table!! The owner/chef came out and talked to all the tables, which I thought was terrific!

We had dinner and it was absolutely amazing. I cannot believe we haven't been here before today. The food, atmosphere, staff, everything about Milano was perfect.

Food is always great and service is always fast. Awesome hole in the wall Italian restaurant. Small place but a great choice. They accommodate small or large parties.

This was a very difficult reviews because it involves the food and inappropriate staff…read more It did smell very inviting from the parking lot so wanted to give it a try. It's a local mom and pop establishment from looking from the outside, but was confirmed clearly it was from staff. Not sure where I want to begin. I'll start with the food. I got the lunch special. 1 slice, 3 knots and a drink. They were "short stocked" on drinks so only had 3 choices. Beverage was in a bottle and was not cold. I was told they had no ice either. I got the mushroom and spinach slice. The toppings and sauce were very good however the crust was black and burnt on the bottom so I just picked off the toppings. The same with the garlic knots too. You can see in the photo too. The marinara dipping sauce was cold and was told they do not do warm dipping sauce. I do believe if the pizza and the knots were not burnt, they would have been enjoyable. I am not sure if management reads this but your staff does like you very much. However, you might want to let them know discussing other employees and past employees love lives, jail records, arrest records, making fun of someone's disabilities is not ok in the workplace let alone with customers in the restaurant. I learned wayyyyy too much about the "person" that just got fired and their age and why they were arrested and closing up your restaurant an hour early. I felt extremely uncomfortable having to listen to this!

Could not believe how good it was! The crust was thin and crisp, and the oil dripping from the bottom. And was told by someone on staff that the water comes from NY, and the recipe has not changed since before the mayor of Hutto took over the business. As I drove home, I struggled to save a piece for my wife to try, but I succeeded. And she was also pleasantly surprised. However, given that she was just in NYC a few days ago, she said it's not as good as the one she tried out there, but if she hadn't tried a slice in NYC recently, she would've said that this one is very good and reminiscent of NYC pizza. This is the first time we come really close. Prior to Anthony's Pizza, we tried Russo's in StoneHill, but this one is much better. Will definitely go back for more, with the family, either to go or eat-in. My only complaint is the price for one simple cheese slice is $4.00 + tax. A legit NYC slice in New York is not selling for $4.00, probably $2.50, but $4.00 is over the top. But if the water truly comes from NY, maybe I could be reasonable. Staff was friendly and informative. The place looked neat and clean.

One stop shopping for primo eating and drinking good times…read more * * * Obsidian Brewery makes beer. I have no idea how the beer is. I may visit Obsidian Brewery time after time after time after time and never find out how their beer is. This is because a) They have an outstanding bar and b) They have an outstanding kitchen. For me, beer is a hardship beverage you drink when there is nothing else better available. When I go to a bar, I can sometimes be looking for mix-mastering. Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. In front of me were twenty yards of three shelves of the most wonderful bottles I could possibly imagine. Half of them I had never heard of before. * * * I settled on a Buddha's Hand Gin. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. The additional botanicals make it strong, attention grabbing, fruity and yet combative. I was absolutely fascinated. Note that Buddha's Hand Gin is only one of the many items they have to explore there. I am totally ready to do more exploring. * * * The kitchen at Obsidian is also of distinction. The savvy local guide I came with adored his Thai Curry Wood Fired Rings. I went with a Cheesy Bread. This is open-faced grilled cheese on a thick slice of bread the size of a shoebox, with a wonderful homemade tomato sauce on about 1/3 of it. It is the best cheese pizza you have ever had. It is what cheese pizza is supposed to be if you don't use the standard canned ingredients that institutional providers sell to Domino's. I was as in love with my cheese bread as I was with my citrus gin. * * * The company was also outstanding. Which is just as well because Obsidian is a social place. Lots of Leanderthals having a fine time in couples and groups. This is not a loner's loser bar. You know - the dark rooms with misfits drinking their sixth beer while watching TV. This is a good folks good times full-of-sunlight place. So you definitely want to come with good folks. * * * Good food, good bottles, good people. And if you are feeling chipper, You can even have a homemade beer to celebrate.

Another excellent experience at Obsidian. Definitely worth checking out and if you aren't a beer…read moreperson they have great cocktail and mocktail choices as well!

Oh. My. Goodness…read more This place is yummy! We had great, friendly service. The menu has enough to please a variety of appetites. The food: Complementary bread: The rolls were so delicious and soft and came with a dill cheese spread that was gone before we knew it. Bruschetta: Everyone agreed it was the best we had ever had. The flavor was beyond imaginable, and that bread was the perfect combination of toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. Oh my my. Meatballs: Pretty good. Nothing stood out good or bad with these. Margherita Pizza: Delicious flavor, but be prepared for a lot of oil! Chicken Carbonara: great flavor, and the best we've found locally. Greek Salad: I love a good Greek salad and this was one of the best I've ever had. So full of flavor and really fresh ingredients. Sandra's Inspired Eggplant Tower: We were told this was being pulled from the menu and I can't understand why. It was absolutely delicious! I'll be ordering it again and again, so hopefully they have the ingredients!

Posted hours: open until 9 PM. We were questioned at the door about the open sign, weren't sure about it, and walked in -- 21 minutes before close, completely within your posted hours. We stood inside waiting to be seated. Then we were told to leave. Staff saw a young family with an infant standing at their host stand, ready to dine, and made the deliberate choice to send us away. Not with an apology. Not with kindness. Just dismissal. This isn't a hospitality business. This is a restaurant that treats families like a burden. If there's a seating cutoff before 9 PM, post it -- don't let people walk in with a baby, get their hopes up, and then throw them out. Hard pass. Especially for families with young kids
