I ordered delivery from them once and was impressed so I did a pick up order this time. Picking up was painless. If will be great if they can make entry way slightly wider as people can be sitting in the entry way to wait for food and making passing the entry way a little unpleasant. Food wise, the portion is HUGE! The naan is probably the size of my torso! I like the butter chicken the most, the sauce is good and meat is juicy. Chicken tikka seems to be a more salty but less flavor version of butter chicken to me, and the meat is more dry. Each entry comes with a giant portion of rice, so no need to get extra rice like I did. I like the chili naan, it's not very spicy in case you are wondering. However, you are not missing much if you order regular naan. The chili naan is a good one to try if you want to have something different. One of my favorite places for butter chicken that keeps me coming back here. I like the flavor and the large portion of sauce you get compared to others in the city. You also need to compliment the BC with garlic naan which is available here with real garlic chunks. The costs for food here are reasonable for the portions and the taste. I was really disappointed in this place. I ordered malai kofta and didn't even eat half of it. We got peas pulao and garlic naan, as well as some kheer and mango chutney. The naan was the best part; even the peas pulao wasn't good. I've had everything I ordered before from other restaurants, and this was just terrible. The delivery was... weird? I ordered via the restaurant because I avoid delivery services when possible but it was apparently DoorDash that they use, since that's what came up on my phone. But the guy called and was across the street from my house (he told me the address, and it was one number lower in sequential order), and I told him my address. He was still confused. I went to the the stairs to flick the lights on and off and he didn't see that, okay. I told him the address more than once and told him my address was across the street from where he was. In the end I went to the window and saw him walking across the street in a westerly direction, passing my house and across the street... he finally seemed to see me because he crossed the street. The address was correct on the receipt, so I'm really not sure what the deal was. I might have liked something else from here, but I won't waste my time ordering here again to know. This has been a go-to for Indian food. I absolutely love their chicken tikka masala (love pairing it with the side dish, raita) and their garlic naan is always fresh and hits the spot! You know when the food is delicious when it hugs your tastebuds and the pricing is just right. Unlike some Indian restaurants, this place does a great job at not making the food be too greasy or oily. Ordered Mild 2 Spicy for delivery recently and it was pretty good. Loved the samosas and chutneys they provide -- perfectly crunchy exterior and the filling was delicious! Also loved the chili naan, always a fave. I ordered the chicken tikka masala at the spicy level and the spice was on point. I love spicy food and this was a great heat level. Consistently the best spot for Indian delivery. Everything is packaged nicely and arrives hot. Their goat biryani seems pricey at $18, but the portion is generous and it's FULL of yummy, well seasoned pieces of meat. The rice itself is so delicious and perfectly balanced with spices that I'd devour it alone. My favorite thing is that I ask for raw onion/lemon on the side (it's the true desi way, iykyk), and they ALWAYS give me both, even going the extra step of adding some masala on top of the raw onion. I add this request in the "notes" section on UberEats so it's very kind of them to not only pay attention to it but also throw it in free of charge. The biryani comes with complimentary raita as well. My boyfriend loves their butter chicken and unlike a lot of other Indian places in Chicago, rice is included :) They have a nice spice spectrum so my bf can enjoy their medium level without sweating and I can get my food spicy enough that I need water breaks. I found Mild 2 Spicy through a Yelp Ad right when they opened in 2017 or 2018. To be honest, I was really put off by the name and thought this would be cheap, super Americanized food. But nope!!! Everything is fresh, flavorful, and can get really spicy if you want it that way. Their weekend buffet is ALWAYS popping, although usually pretty mild in terms of spice. The BEST thing about Mild 2 Spicy is how insanely quick they are. The first time I ordered delivery, I was about 25 minutes from home and they beat me there! I can order while on the train and pop in 15 minutes later to a hot, fresh, and delicious meal. LITERALLY 15 MINUTES. Also, the garlic naan is to die for. I tried the Gobi Manchurian, which was really delicious, in spite of the fact the delivery was so late it was no longer hot or crisp (my uber eats driver left FORTY MINUTES before I got the food-- obviously no fault of the restaurant). This isn't something I've seen at other restaurants, so I was excited to try it, and it was fantastic. I'll definitely be ordering that again. I also ordered 3 things so I could feel like I was having a real holiday feast, if not a traditional one. I got saag paneer, malai kofta, and paneer makhani. The paneer makhani was new to me, and perhaps my favorite, though all three were delicious. I'm not joking when I tell you this (which came with rice) plus naan made 8 meals! Arrived around 12:30 on a Sunday and within 45 minutes the place filled up which was a great sign! We ordered the chicken Korma (spicy, beware it's truly hot!) lamb biryani and babycorn manchurian. We've been going to Mild 2 Spicy in person pre-pandemic and have been ordering takeout from them for the last year. Really great selection of indian food and also dosas! Delivery is always packaged very securely, although some of the dry or fried offerings don't taste as good and sometimes get soggy like the Gobi Manchurian (they do it very well in the restaurant) and the dosas. Not the restaurants fault we have to subject our food to takeout, but it's a lot better in the store! Portions are very generous especially for the price and they are serious about their spice level if you request it. Takeout direct to them also comes with a 20% discount. I've been ordering from and dining at this place for three years now. The food is outstanding every time. I love the huge menu and the variety of options. The people who work there are very kind. The flavors are high quality and the service is great. They even deliver their own food. I really love this restaurant. The only complaint I have is that they only put maybe four or five pieces of chicken/protein in each dish (I count, it's actually that low). This is the most expensive Indian place I know of, and I'm okay with paying a high price for such good quality. But it's frustrating when I spend over $100 and there is not enough chicken to share with everyone. It's basically just curry/broth and maybe five pieces of chicken in one order, which makes it hard to share with my whole family. If everyone just orders their own dish and doesn't share, then it's probably fine. I just prefer to order lots of food and share. read more

Sad to report I had a disappointing experience here. Not sure if the other yelp reviews are fake (I'm so rarely misled by reviewers in Chicago). We orded the Saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and naan. I felt that the sauces in both dishes were runny/watered down, and lacked the variety of spices I've come to expect in Indian food. The flavors weren't dynamic at all and the chicken tikka masala tasted like a tomato sauce I could make at home. Honestly, the frozen palak paneer and naan at trader joes is better than what I had at Mild 2 Spicy. I prefer many other Indian restaurants in Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, and West Loop and won't be coming back here again. The chicken tikka masala was phenomenal, and I loved dipping my garlic naan into the sauce. This place opened sometime in the past year or two after I had moved back downtown, where there are only two Indian restaurants both of which are a little pricey for average food. I generally love butter chicken aka makhani/makini chicken and was excited to see that they offered it with paneer, chicken, and lamb. I would have liked to try lamb but my friend wasn't a fan. We shared the butter chicken and malai kofta (a vegetarian dish with cashew sauce) with garlic naan. Both dishes came with rice and were around $14. It was my first time trying malai kofta and I enjoyed it. I'm not sure if the sauce had coconut milk in it but it was delicious. There were vegetarian blocks, which may have been chickpea based? We took home leftovers. Service was excellent. Also, they have wine, beer, and cocktails. Wine is around $6-7 a glass. If I lived in the area, I would frequent this place.
