Cutest little cupcake and froyo shop! It's a perfect place to just catch up with friends, which is exactly what my friend Monique and I ended up doing. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly welcome. Staff here is more than willing to help you choose the right cupcakes and can provide really good recommendations as well. Surprisingly they allowed my friend to try out some of the small cupcakes first without charging her since she was having a hard time deciding. They were super sweet and gave me a good amount of recommendations. I personally liked their Champagne and S'more cupcakes. The red velvet was good too, but a tad bit sweet for me. While the cupcakes are normally delicious, we ordered special vegan cupcakes for a birthday and they are the worst tasting vegan cupcakes I have ever had. First, there was no cake, it was all frosting. That may have been a good thing because the cake tasted awful. When you charge $30 for 6 vegan cupcakes, they should taste good. I have tasted better vegan cupcakes from Rubicon bakery and those are frozen store bought. I would not recommend anyone order the vegan cupcakes from Milk & Cake. read more

For what this place is, it deserves a solid rating. Frozen yogurt, cupcakes, and French press coffee. The most impressive aspect of Milk & Cake is their cupcake selection. There are easily 30+ flavors of colorful, fancy , and unique flavored cupcakes. When I say unique I mean in a good way like peanut butter banana or wedding cake. Additionally, they have a good offering of Gluten free cupcakes, as well as mini cupcakes and brownie cake squares. All are made and iced fresh daily, in house. The flavor varies from good to great, I wasn't completely blown away, but considering each piece is neatly hand crafted , consuming the cupcakes is more of an all-around experience. Milk & Cake is a great place for a morning or afternoon date or get together. A side note, the place is spotlessly clean. This was my second time to Milk & Cake, and my experience was about the same.. Meh. The first time I stopped in was on a Sunday, and they only had day old cupcakes left. They were a little dry, but that was to be expected. I got a few different kinds and took them to a family dinner. They were not overly impressive, but a treat none the less. I went again yesterday, around 5PM to get some cupcakes for after dinner. Although this time they were baked same day they were still dry. The frosting was very hard and the actual came was crumbling everywhere. If I were to try this place again it would be earlier in the day to see if that improves the quality... Absolutely delicious. Possibly the best cupcakes I've ever had time and time again! So far the best flavor is the banana peanut butter(and I'm not even a fan of banana!). Will definitely continue to be a repeat customer. The service is a little meh, and I think they should have a water dispensing area of some sort, and those two things would have normally made it a 4 star review, but the cakes are so delicious that it redeems a 5th star. Really though, I had a coupon for a free cupcake, and Milk & Cake is way outside my usual turf, so I was quite pleased to find myself in their neck of the woods last week. I beebopped on in to pick up my free cupcake. Based on Yelp reviews and photos, I was expecting a vast display case with 9,000 different flavors to choose from, but it was actually a pretty small case. They still had a decent selection - enough that I had a tough time deciding. I landed on the lavender lemon poppy seed, took it to go, and headed home. I had every intention of waiting until after dinner to eat my cupcake, but somehow it went missing while I was making dinner. Here are my thoughts: 1. The cake was moist and fluffy, just like cake should be. 2. The lavender flavor was sweet and pleasant. Not perfumey - just right. 3. I LOVE FROSTING AND THEIR FROSTING WAS AMAZING. 4. My husband and I came in for a treat on a Sunday evening. I had the banana yogurt and it was super delicious. My husband ordered a cake shake. We waited about 10 minutes and the girl at the register was pretty busy. The second girl came from the back to move cupcakes around in the case then left. Two new guys came in and ordered shakes and the girl from the back made them their shakes and they left. We asked for our money back since our shake was forgotten and we waited 20 minutes. The frozen yogurt here is delicious and reasonably priced! I am particularly fond of the brownie flavored frozen yogurt. They have a wide selection of toppings and sauces. This place has the best cupcakes. I would give them 5stars for the Yogurt and ice cream options as well as the delicious cupcakes. The only reason I drop the rating down as I was really unsatisfied with the customer service the last two visits I was there. In one visit I didn't remember to put my rewards phone number in but I wasn't even reminded by the cashier or asked if I would like to put my number in so I didn't receive any points for the over $20 that I spent there. The next time, I made a call (just this week) to ask what flavors they had for the day, and rather than just giving me a rundown of what was baked that day, the person that answered the phone, sounded bothered and said we have every flavor. So I asked if there was peach cobbler and she said not that one today. So clearly they didn't have "everything". Nor did she decide to simply correct herself by saying what they had. I was so bothered by the lack of good customer service to just tell me what was there so I knew what I would get, that I simply bypassed that stopped and spent my money elsewhere. I always drive past this place pretty much on the weekly, but never really gave it a second thought. Then after some yoga in the park with some girls, we decided to head over here since it was so close by. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. I tried the fruitloops and it definitely tasted like fruitloops, but that didn't quite hit the spot. I then sampled the creme brule gelato and black cherry yogurt. They were both silky smooth and the flavors weren't too overwhelming, so I got a serving of each. I then came here a second time in a week just so I could grab more of the creme brule gelato. I also decided to try the rasberry gelato and that was of course, very tasty. I ordered the mini strawberry cupcake, but I have to admit I am not a cupcake fan and that sure didn't change my mind. Milk and Cake is your run of the mill fro-yo spot. Some of the flavors are pretty great, like Nutella and Cookies & Cream. Unfortunately, they do seem to run out of flavors quite a bit. The toppings they offer are pretty standard and expected. In the end, the real flaw for me is the price point. 55 cents per ounce is a bit steep. Industry standard is around 40 cents/ounce from my experience. Milk and Cake markets itself as a modern and premium fro-yo spot. The interior is sleek and inviting, but I really don't see the added value here. There are plenty of other fro-yo places out there that offer a similar experience at a much lower price point. Cool concept with frozen yogurt and cupcakes. This review is solely about the cupcakes. I really wanted to try the wedding cake but they were out. So I ended up with a pink champagne, birthday cake and double chocolate cupcake. Double chocolate was just that...decadent, over the top chocolatey, moist-delicious. From there the remaining two were good but pretty standard fare. The champagne cupcake really had very little distinct flavor other than maybe a little fruitiness. Same goes for the birthday cake-just a notch above a grocery store bake shop quality. At $3.15 each, price seemed a little high for the size and overall quality. I purchased a dozen cupcakes for a birthday party and I'm so happy with them. I got double chocolate, birthday cake, and peanut butter and they couldn't have been more delicious! I was even impressed with the cupcake box they came in as it kept them all separate and with room on top so they could be transported safely. I didn't get any photos, unfortunately, but they were beautiful too. Super moist and soft with just the right amount of frosting and they weren't cloyingly sweet like some cakes can be. Just right! My friend and I were asking among ourselves, "Why is Froyo super-dee-duper pricey?" Well because if you think about it: you go to a store and you're faced with buying literally everything that a frozen yogurt shop could contain and your price total could be more. Pricing is really affordable, they have dairy free options for my daughter, super clean and well set up, the flavors are really intense (in a good way), and super helpful and friendly staff. The Nutella flavot stopped working while filling a cup and they were very quick to help and apologetic for the inconvenience! Super fun flavors and huge assortment of toppings!
