I came to Milk Tea Lab a while ago and have been meaning to write a review. I ordered online but when I arrived they were not open yet. There was a little glitch with the time listed online. Anyhow, they opened the doors and made my passionfruit tea right away. The staff were very kind and the drink was delicious. Also, their cups caught my attention because they were sturdy and could be reused at home. I am not sure if it is their regular cups or temporary, but worth mentioning. If you are in the area, give Milk Tea Lab a try! Well worth it. read more

The server informed me that their taro is different and contains actual taro pieces and stated that if I did not like it that I could return it. To my surprise, the taro inside made it amazing. Milk tea is good here, and the venue itself is spacious and clean. I really like the concept behind this boba shop, and appreciate that it's in a plaza location. It's one of the few boba places I go to when in the Concord/Pleasant Hill area, and I always get pretty good customer service from its workers. read more

Had outlets for to get some work done, good enough to study, business slow when I checked it out, had a mango green tea with aloe Vera n white pearls, it was ok, next time maybe I'll stick with the classic milk tea, its as much as I expected, like that they close at 2 and have place to study, n outlets, convenient location near Safeway, and quite a few food options, first boba shop I been in this area XD not bad at all XD, very friendly customer service, WiFi stuff on receipts, some games, modern furnishings, few snack options, and tonic? Was new to the area and saw pretty good reviews for this place, so my family and I went to give it a try. First of all due to COVID you were suppose to call in then pick up. No ordering inside. So we stood in front of the store calling for about 4-5 times and no one answered. As we were trying to get through on the phone outside we had people who just walked and ordered. So eventually we gave up calling and went in. The first thing she asked is if we called in we said no, she told us we have to call in advance, but still took our orders...we understand beacuse of the situation but she can definitely been more pleasant about it and we tried but people were just kept cutting us as we were trying to make our call that wont go through. Eventually we got our drinks and chicken. Drinks were very watered down and felt so artificial like it was all syrup. The aloe in our drinks were like mush and had a salty and dirty rag taste to it which definitely ruined the drink. Our chicken tasted like really old freezer chicken that had already started developing a weird taste. It was sour and tasted mold in certain pieces. Surprised and drove 11 year old daughter for a 11:30pm "Boba". Upon arrival noted many young people throughout; both in and outside this 2017 Halloween weekend. Individuals were courteous as a couple squeezed between us to reach the restroom. "Dirty" Hip-hop broadcasting from a laptop-DJ speakers in the background with a lot of "N_g_r" and other degrading lyrics (Sad). My guess It's prepared for pre-teens through high school/college study crowds earlier in the afternoon to mid evening? Service was quick! After order was submitted took approximately 4 minutes. Daughter had Strawberry Lemonade while I tried the Machamacha Smoothie; Total $9.01. blended strawberries, lemon slice with boba was good. Machamacha Smoothie noticed a bit "powdery" texture, but tasted a sweet combination of bamboo/green tea blend. Other than Smoothies and Teas, didn't see any consumables on the overhead menu at 11:40pm. However, Los Gallos Express Taqueria next door was also open with a crowd. The watermelon slush really hit the spot in a hot day in East bay. They use real watermelon which shows in the flavor and texture. The bf got a strawberry slush which was a lot more artificial-tasting. The location is in a big plaza with lots of parking. The place is right by the Mexican restaurant. read more

5 STARS for their drinks, atmosphere, and service! Been here several times already and it has yet to disappoint! They are located in the same plaza as Safeway in Pleasant Hill. Lots of parking! There are about 10 tables for you to sit down and hang out. Games are available near the cash register. Great place to chill with friends or even do homework. But it does get kind of busy which can be very distracting. Ordered the Green Milk Tea, which is usually my go to drink when I get boba. I have to say it was really good and one of the best in the area! If you are looking for good milk tea you must come here! Stopped by on our way home down to SLO. There was a long line, and at first there was one person making all the orders while we all waited. Then a second person popped out and took over while the girl came back to the counter and took orders. 12+ orders ahead of me and still a line of people. They probably should have had more hands on deck because they seemed to be popular. Since I was waiting in line for a while, I had plenty of time to look at their menu. They didn't have much options. Maybe 4ish smoothies and the rest were teas. Not much flavor options... not so exciting. It was cool that you can choose from different types of toppings and such as well as the level of sweetness but it's not much of a "lab" if you only have very few flavors. I did appreciate the large which was definitely large and that the boba did not freeze in the smoothie. Hands down the best boba place! The atmosphere is energetic, and the staff are really friendly. The staff are knowledgeable of the drinks, and make great recommendations. The best part about this place is their extensive toppings options!! The music will grab your attention, but the drinks and toppings will keep you coming back. The popcorn chicken is good, but they will serve it without the hot powder because some people apparently don't like it spicy. Make sure you ask for the powder if you like it spicy. Lots of drink options here but sadly no oolong milk tea, which is my favorite. I got a #17 regular sized roasted milk tea, half sugar, less ice and no toppings. Solid boba spot! I dropped by here on the way home since there was a lot of traffic and I had a craving for some boba. The place is nestled in a shopping mall and right next to a Mexican spot. I waited maybe 5 minutes in line and ordered the Milk Cow Milk Tea which normally just has grass jelly and condensed milk in it, but I made it 50/50 and added boba to it. The ladies behind the counter made it fairly quick and it was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed it and it wasn't too sweet. It always amazes me on how big the drink cup size is... for a regular. Where I'm from, that's a large! So when I ordered the large, I got an even BIGGER one. I was ecstatic! I'm a huge boba lover and this place was my first shop I went to for my fix. The bobaristas here are very friendly and will answer questions regarding ingredients or taste preference. It's also a great place to hangout with friends or study. They have music that plays in the background as well as a huge array of board games/activities that you can play with your friends. OK, so I used to love this place, but they are super inconsistent. Today was the second time I've gone where they had no boba. Seriously, what kind of boba place has no boba??? And they just opens for the morning, so it wasn't like they ran out, they must have just planned poorly. I've also gone when the boba was undercooked and when the boba wasn't sweet. I think I'll go to ShareTea instead from now on. Update--I see from other reviews that I'm not the only one who has shown up right when the business opens and have been told that they're out of something or that boba isn't ready (today I was told it would be ready in 40 minutes). If this is a common issue, I don't see the management making good on the promise of improving things. Plus, the cashier girl looked suuuuuper annoyed to be taking our order today. She didn't look up or even greet us. It was like I was at an emo boba shop. Very strange. Probably not coming back. Really good boba drinks and really friendly service! Got a large milk tea with pearls and it had great flavor and plenty of boba. Had two kids with me and asked which drinks didn't have tea in it. Pretty good selection of teas--not so many that you get overwhelmed or have no idea what something is due to some abstract name. I got the roasted milk tea, less sugar and less ice. It was exactly what I wanted. I love when you can customize sweetness and ice levels! You can decide if you wanna taste more tea or more sugar. After a bit we also got the popcorn chicken and my friend was a bit disappointed when she saw that they stuffed a bunch of wax paper under all the chicken. It was probably to soak up any residual oil, but we were sad when we saw how much less chicken there actually was in the carton. An interesting thing about this place.. I've never seen others study or studied in a boba shop until today. It was actually really nice! There was good lighting and lots of outlets at the tables. Best thing: music is on point. read more

Milk Tea Lab has been my favorite boba spot ever since it opened. Now that it's summer break, I'm here almost every week! On a usual day, I'd give this place a rating of 4+ stars...like, not the best (as far as variety of options) but you can get a giant cup of tea + boba for under $5. Staff is super friendly and helpful. You never have to wait more that 5 mins for your drink even when the place is busy...at least from what I've experienced so far. They've also got board games so it's a really cool place to hang out with friends after a meal or something. (I'm also in love with the branding of this place! So witty!) I've had a pleasant experience here every single time I've been BUT yesterday, I found something rather unpleasant at the bottom of my drink. As I took a sip of my large jasmine milk tea + boba & grass jelly, I taste something hard and metallic. I take it out of my mouth and I pull this small metal screw-like object out. I already left to Sunvalley Mall and drank my drink 3/4 down so it was too late to head back to MTL to do anything about it. Walking in on a HOT summer day into an air conditioned space, score! This place is a very LARGE boba place with ample seats and clean tables. Great lighting, free wifi, and charger outlets almost at every table! This maybe my new go to place to get work done. Love the modern music in the background with a good selection of games to play with. Servers (especially Isaac) were friendly and able to explain the menu well. Like what is the diff between white and black boba (white is les sweet) or what is cool ball (it's a white ball that is less chewy made of agar seaweed so it's a healthy alternative to the typical boba). I got the Roasted Milk with 50% and my bro got the classic Pearl milk tea large with 50% sweet. The Roasted Milk is everything I love in a roasted milk tea, I could taste the perfect balance of tea with milk and the boba was sweet and chewy yum! It had the perfect consistency, but it's a little smaller than other boba places. I thought the 50% was a bit too sweet for me so I asked them to make it less sweet and they were happy to do so. Great customer service Isaac you're the best!! Trying the classic Pearl milk tea, it's actually really good as well and very different from other boba places. Pricing is slightly more expensive than other boba places, but for the cup size i think it comes out to the same. The regular is the size of a normal large and the large is huge! They accept all credit cards including the common visa and MasterCard along with Amex and Discover. They DO NOT have a stamp card not do they have 5 star :( Sad, please include that next time we come back so we'll have more incentive :) OVERALL, 4.5 stars 1/2 star off for no incentive program, but once they get it, this will be the perfect 5 star place! I have been waiting for this place to open for awhile now. I am definitely a fan of my boba tea places. The menu at this place keeps it simple, and they have all of the regular favorite drinks and toppings plus an interesting looking apple tonic. Milk Tea Lab also stays open late (around 2 am) and has free wifi and games for your pleasure. I had the chance to try two different drinks today. The first was the mango green tea I had for a sample. I have to say it was one of the best mango green tea's I have had (and that is saying something since it is my go to drink). The drink I actually ordered was the honey lemon aloe. If you are not in the mood for something milky, I think this drink is quite refreshing especially during the hot pleasant hill summers (think fresh lemonade/aloe blend). Finally I appreciate how clean this place is. Many boba places tend to get quite sticky and Milk Tea Lab was squeaky clean. It will definitely be a good place to do work in the evenings. read more

I'm definitely a fan of Milk Tea Lab, and while Pleasant Hill isn't a far drive for me, I really wish they'd open up a location in Walnut Creek. Parking at this location is a breeze with ample spaces in the same plaza at Safeway, Starbucks, Union Bank and several other small restaurants. The interior is clean, modern and fun, while the staff is amazingly friendly. I felt welcome at every step. The menu features your standard boba and milk tea beverages and on this visit I decided to keep it simple with a Jasmine Milk tea, less sweet with boba. The texture of the boba was excellent and overall not to chewy or sweet. The tea itself had the perfect balance of flavors-neither the tea or the milk were overpowering. Plenty of seating adds to the welcoming atmosphere. Cute addition to this area of Pleasant Hill and I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit. read more

Milk tea lab is located in the corner of a shopping plaza. You would not even know there was a boba place here unless you yelped it. They dont have the largest selection of drinks, especially compared to other places that have over 100 drink options. I chose the regular milk tea, small size, without boba. Lo and behold their small size milk tea is actually in a large cup. So I paid about $4 for a 24 oz cup. The large size is even bigger, it looked like 32 oz. The regular milk tea was sweet, but not creamy enough for me. It tasted kinda watery. They get 4 stars for being generous though. read more

Wahooo! A new boba place in town! I really like the ambiance of the place, decorations was simple but pleasing. They have USB outlets and board games! They're open until 2AM which is cool if ever you're craving in the middle of the night. Super friendly staff! And, good selections of toppings! It's refreshing to see all the tea drink places sprouting all over the country and becoming mainstream especially in the Bay Area. More than ten years ago when I attended college in the countryside of Virginia and I mentioned this to a classmate, I'd probably get a comment like, "oh what's that, gross". A standard remark that you get from people raised here if you mention something they've never tried before. I love this milk tea lab. It was clean, bright and the two staff manning the place were fast, efficient, and responsive. Some places you go, you can sense pretentiousness. The guy explained the different categories without being annoyed. And recommended a drink since I am watching my caffeine intake. Although the guy had a hard time sealing the plastic cover on my drink that didn't take away from how I feel about this place. The seats that were flushed against the wall were comfy and soft. The kids brought their froyos here from the nearby shop and us parents ordered boba drinks. The kids also enjoyed a game of Jenga and Battleships. They have a lot of other games at the counter too. I got the Mango 101. It was delicious and it was mixed well. Some boba places you can kinda taste the powder, I didn't taste that here. And it came with pearl bubble and jelly. Trust me, the jelly and the pearl were perfectly prepared. The cold temperature of my drink was perfect unlike the Sharetea drink that I felt like I'd get a pneumonia cold. And the price for a big size cup they call regular was less than $5 bucks. I was more than satisfied. The only thing I didn't like was the music in the background was too loud for my taste. I think I've found my new favorite boba place! Yelp notified me of this place and so glad I checked it out. This place is located next to Safeway with a lot of parking. Inside, it is very spacious and has a cool, young vibe. There are plenty of tables with board games so definitely a place to hang out or study. There are so many choices and they all sound really good! I stuck to my usual iced black milk tea with boba (less sweet and ice) to be able to compare it to other places. I ordered a large and I was so surprised --it is huge! Definitely bigger than other places for similar prices. But more than the size/price, the taste is amazing! It wasn't too sweet and I could still taste the tea. It also tasted very fresh as opposed to a mixed powder with milk like other places. The boba was soft and chewy unlike other places where it can be hard (too many innuendos, I know). I'll definitely be coming back and can't wait to try the other things on the menu. read more
