Cons: Pretentious flavors, and no selection much at that. Generic "we're soooo cool" atmosphere (you know, subway tile, Edison bulbs and the over-busy chalkboard wall; snarky "humour"). Not very spacious on a weekday afternoon after a blizzard; don't even want to imagine the summer. Mostly, rude service. The ice cream here, is amazing!!!!!! It's so rich and creamy I personally love the S'mores campfire, every is made fresh to order...... The staff is great, although it does get crowded in line. It's worth the wait, be patient I promise you will enjoy your ice cream..... also try the blue cookie butter or sea salted caramel on a creameebun, which is a fresh glazed doughnut that is warmed to order. Walking in you are greeted with extremely loud thumping music. Now I'm a lover of bars and nightclubs, but you don't need this at 12PM when ordering ice creme. The problem is the speaker is right on top of the order area, so you have to shout to place your order and to hear the counter person. Not surprisingly the order was wrong. Then a second issue - which clever interior designer decided to out the menu right behind the line to the counter?? Of course you can't read it if there are more than two people in line! All of this could be slightly forgiven if the ice creme was fantastic, but it was not. It has a strange gluey, gummy consistency that had me feeling I was eating some ice creme substitute and not the real thing. I've just had my second bad experience at Milk Craft. Rather than go into the details, let me tell you what it feels like to visit your store. Do you remember going to the carnival and waiting in line to get on a ride. After waiting 20 minutes, you get to the front and the ride operator tells you you're too short and can't go on. To follow the rules avoid looking at their flavors for longer than 10 seconds. The icream here is good, but the pricing feels so strange to me and I feel as if I am getting gamed when I order anything other than a scoop of ice cream and a bubble cone. The last time I came in, I ordered a bubble cone with a scoop of ice cream on the side. I assumed it would be $8 since that is the cost of the 2 items combined. Finally my first Milkcraft experience last week after visiting once anf leaving because the line was insane. This time, thankfully there was no line, and we got right in and ordered a couple bubble cones. Theyre definitely expensive, they're definitely a novelty, but they're definitely delicious! There's a reason the blue cookie butter is their most popular flavor - it's amazing! Also had the strawberry balsamic which was different but also great! Staff is v friendly and ice cream is made to order so it takes a little while but it's excellent. But if your opinion ultimately rests with: how did it taste and did I get my money's worth? If that is your (and my) basis for rating a food experience - this place fails me. Everytime i try to give this place another chance they always let me down. Today, i went and as requested by them they were only letting two people in at a time and with a required mask which is perfect but then they let a couple people in front of me without masks order which made me question my decision to even come inside. I got the coco de leche, the guy didn't put all the toppings (no dulce de leche) on it so I got chocolate ice cream with dark salt flakes. It was just salty ice cream. My brother got the Vietnamese coffee and they didn't put any toppings at all on it. So the whole thing was meh. But...My daughter decided she wanted a few cocoa puffs on her scoop of ice cream and they said it would be $1.95 extra for hardly any cocoa puffs. The line was barely out the door on a warm February afternoon so we figured it would be as good of a time as any to check it out. Despite being maybe the 10th person in line, we waited for no less than 25 minutes just to place our order, salted caramel and s'mores scoops in bubble cones. The ice cream was good but nothing special, the cones a nice addition even for someone who doesn't normally like ice cream in a cone. I wouldn't go out of my way or stand in line for two scoops of standard-tasting ice cream again, and definitely wouldn't pay $20 for it. I didn't have any problems with it being over-crowded, slow service or the lines being too long, but that might just be because I've never went on busy days. Personally, the place is a tad expensive for my tastes and is mostlu just flash. However, their food does taste good and is a great place to go with your friends if you're not in the mood for actual food (in which case I recommend the noodle bar right next to it)! The people there are nice, but I do have a few gripes with how loud the music can be. Okay so I LOVE ice cream and I have to say that this place is one of the best spots in Fairfield County! I first started going here while I was pregnant and working in Fairfield. The staff would tell me to put my feet up and relax with those delicious creamy buns ! Their flavors are unique and tasty. For me Milkcraft is not just an ice cream spot but an oasis in the desert of life's commotion. Nice spot to steal away for a yummy, decadent ice cream. I appreciate that it's open during the winter as well, as I'm a person who eats ice cream year round. I have family coming for overseas and this is a request of theirs when they come as I talk about it so much . Can get busy on the weekends and evenings depending on the day. Came to Fairfield to visit a friend, but I'm staying for the Milkcraft! Came in with no expectations and was blown away by the ice cream they are pumping out - literally to droves of newly converted locals. The ice cream is delicious, creamy and smooth, no ice crystals here. It has a distinct feel from most other places, who sell Ice cream from tubs. It tastes more wholesome and artisanal. The nitrogen process is super cool too! I highly recommend for anyone who is trying to branch out from the lackluster ice creams of the Baskin Robbins variety. Also make sure you try the bubble cones, they are absurdly tasty on their own. Milkcraft definitely won't disappoint! Bring friends! They'll thank you. read more

Just ok. I wouldn't take issue with the little things if they didn't charge obscene amounts for their ice cream. I got one scoop on their signature bubble cone (the best part about the entire overrated experience) with whipped cream and it was $10.05. When I asked for a cup of water they said "no we only sell bottled water." Beyond it being illegal not offer free tap water, what really got me was that they were going to charge me $3 for it. Completely ridiculous. Ice cream was good, definitely some unique flavors. But let's continue with the cons... The music was louder than Abercrombie, the spoons were taster sized for no reason (which doesn't help when you're trying to eat the bottom of the hard to reach bubble cone) and the ice cream gets EVERYWHERE when you order a bubble cone. Definitely not worth it. But if you're looking for likes on an Instagram, it's the perfect place for you. read more

I truly wanted to give this establishment 5 out 5 stars, but I had to settle for only 2. Unfortunately, my family and I had a disappointing experience. Yes, we had read previous reviews and knew that there were going to be a few issues (ie. long line, layout, loud music). After waiting 40 minutes in line we finally were able to order our ice cream. I "attempted" to order the Two Roads Stout ice cream. I am putting attempted in quotation marks because at first, the cashier couldn't hear me over the obnoxiously loud music. Then when she did understand, she looked at me as if I had two heads. I had to point to their menu on the wall to explain that it was indeed an ice cream flavor that they offered. The cashier had to ask someone else who was also befuddled. Furthermore, I was told they ran out of the Green Tea Kit Kats. That is fine by me, but I was disappointed when the rest of the topping were straight up bootleg cereal brands that you can find in any store in the UK. They had one called Fruitee O's, it's like Toucan Sam had in illegitimate son and they couldn't even give him a proper name. Moving on, the service was average at best. I watched an elderly man wait over 20 minutes for his ice cream while a few groups behind him were served. It seemed their "system" was to haphazardly work through the ticket orders. If you want to have a real ice cream experience go to Arethusa in New Haven. Yea, it might not be in the posh town of Fairfield, but they know how to serve ice cream right. read more

I do enjoy the ice cream and the concept of the bubble/waffle cone; however I wish there was different flavors to enjoy and something that made this place stand out. It is pricey for some ice cream but I did enjoy and it does get messy which makes it all the more fun! My family went to the store in Fairfield yesterday 5/28/18 at 3:40 pm. We ordered 4 ice cream. The Mexican Chocolate churro came out really late( about 20 mins after other scoops/bubble-cone which ordered the same time) we understood the store is busy during the holiday. But we are really uncomfortable with their staffs' attitude ( specially 2 blond girls, medium height, were rude and glared at us when we questioned the delay of the ice cream). My husband and I are the big fans to this store! But we got treated like this today, it really upsets us. I came to MilkCraft on a Thursday night around 7:10 and it was pretty easy to find in Fairfield (I'm familiar with Fairfield), but it might not be so easy to find for new comers. Immediately, I saw the decoration and admired the stringed lights on the patio and the "loud" pop music played on the speakers outside and inside of the shoppe. To my surprise, there was a line out the door, but it wasn't too bad. We got into the shoppe probably 7 minutes after arriving and waiting in line. It smells absolutely DELICIOUS when you walk in. And what makes it even better, is that MilkCraft makes it easy to order step-by-step. Pick a cone (the famous bubble cone), and choose your choice of ice cream and viola, you are given creamy perfection. I came to MilkCraft with my boyfriend and two bubble cone ice creams costed about $14.00. Not bad. As we were waiting for our ice cream, we got to witness the assembly line of the process of making our ice cream! It's actually so interesting to watch because they use liquid nitrogen to freeze their milk products. Definitely fun for kids. As we were waiting, we had the privilege of speaking with a young male employee named Colby. His customer service is wonderful! Great enthusiasm and spirit. A few down falls about MilkCraft: - I wish that the orders were completed before moving onto the next. For example, my boyfriend received his ice cream 3 minutes after we ordered. And we expected mine to be next, but unfortunately, it took my ice cream about 10 minutes to be completed (it was not an in depth ice cream, very simplistic to make). As we waited for my ice cream to be finished, other orders were being called and I thought they forgot about mine! I actually had to ask to see if they were going to make it. But rest assured, it was worth the wait. The quality of ice cream is amazing. Creamy and sweet. - Some of the staff seemed a little tired, but I really can't blame them. They have been open for only 3 weeks and it's constant lines out the door. An 8 hour shift must be exhausting. Other than those two issues (if you want to call them) MilkCraft was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. The best part about my visit was actually really unexpected. One ice cream cone was made that no one claimed. All of a sudden, a great girl named Ame announced that anyone can have this ice cream for FREE! So I jumped right on top of that.
