This was a great first experience at Milkman. The smash burgers were delightful and cooked to perfection. The fry sauce was tangy and flavorful to offset the saltiness of the fries. But perhaps the best pairing was the fries & the milkshakes. The boozy shakes were definitely the highly of the trip. The Cookies & Irish Crème had an entire Oreo cookie as a delicious garnish and the Grasshopper was mintier than I expected, but in a good way -- and the chocolate chips in it were the perfect match. Awesome vibe, delicious grub, and great service. We stopped in after seeing a show at the transept around the corner. It has the whole old diner type vibe with phenomenal eats. Their beverage selection was superior with a ton of options but we settled for some boozy shakes which were amazing! We did a lot of food from there which included frys and fry sauce, burgers, Thai chicken sandwich, and chili cheese frys, also the boozy shakes are delicious and pack some punch. I would love to tell you I recommend something specific but it was all equally amazing in its own way. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed and we will for sure be back. I was looking for something different and not to expensive and I was downtown cincinnati so I looked to see what was close and this place popped up. It is a cute little diner type restaurant that at the time wasn't super crowded. They have a diner style menu with hamburgers, chicken and hot dogs. I order the chili cheese dog with fries. It didn't take long to come out so that was good cuz I was hungry. The fries were really good and they have fry sauce which was an added bonus. The cheese dog was good but it wasn't hot. It was like room temp. Cincinnati style chili needs to be hot. I'm not saying it was bad...it wasn't... I just wish it had been warmer than it was. Best Smashburger in Cincy - they have their own unique sauce that is quite tasty and I absolutely love their pickles (I'm a stickler for good dill pickles & they have some excellent ones here). I have been following Milkman pretty much since the Instagram page popped up so I was very excited to finally check it out! First things first-love the concept. When you go into Milkman, you order at the front counter, they give you a number, and you grab a seat. Once your food is ready, someone will run it out to your table. Great spot if you're looking for a quick dinner or a quick snack in between drinking. I started off with an espresso martini boozy milkshake which I loved! For my meal I decided to get the Thai chicken sandwich. The chicken was really good quality and the toppings had great flavor-the peanuts were a nice touch. I also got an order of chili cheese fries which were a good side to split. I did try the burgers which I thought were okay, but I wasn't blown away by them. Overall we had a good experience. Very nice old timey ascetics on a not your average burger joint. This is a nice adult beverage offering that you can still bring the family to kind of space. The location is in OTR and while it is great they don't take themselves too seriously. The staff was quick and helpful while offering the right suggestions to get you a quality meal. Street parking is plentiful around this location which is great and rare in OTR. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Top that burger. Don't come looking for a basic burger. This place give them to topped up. While some may consider the burgers small or scoff at the fact that they charger per topping, don't let that slow you down. Get your hearts desire on your burger and prepare your hands for a workout. 2) Not just a burger place. You could be forgiven for thinking that they only have burgers and fries and drinks here. Their prices are a little steep (come on - these are just smash burgers!), but everything tasted delicious. I tried their boozy fall slushie, fries, and a double burger. The slushie was exactly what I wanted; smooth, a good amount of alcohol, and bursting with fall flavors. The burger was excellent and was honestly one of the better burgers I've had in a while. The fries tasted good, but were cold which was disappointing. I liked the vibe of the place and could definitely see myself coming back if they had somewhere to park for free. I finally had the opportunity to try Milkman after passing it numerous times in OTR and I truly wished I would have tried it sooner. Shortly after placing my order, the food was promptly brought out and I was able to enjoy a freshly made burger. Hands down one of THE BEST smashed burgers I've ever had. The fries were delicious especially when paired with Milkman's "fry sauce". I also tried one of their Boozy Slushies (Vito's Limoncello) which was perfectly refreshing after my walk around downtown and definitely lived up to the lemony taste I was hoping for. They also serve boozy shakes that I will have to partake in next time. The diner itself is modeled after the nostalgic 50s/60s diners which makes one feel right at home. Fun photos in unique frames are hung throughout the diner along with cozy booths that can easily sit a family of four but could also squeeze in about six. If that wasn't great enough, there is also outdoor seating along Race Street where you can admire the downtown location (unfortunately it was raining during my visit). Milkman will be my new go to recommendation for family/friends visiting Cincinnati! read more

How fun is this vintage diner burger shop? I ordered the Spicy Burger and was excited about the hot pepper jam that it was topped with. So My shake came out first and I was impressed and it was thick like how I like a shake. The flavor was good and I loved it. It the right amount of sweetness and alcohol by the time my food came out I was kinda full from the shake but it was not long before My food came out and I hate to say that I was not impressed. The food came out lukewarm and not piping hot. I kinda don't understand why because thing are made to order. I hope they ain't making the Fries first and then cooking the burger.....I like my fries to be so hot to the point I can barely bite one it but I didn't complain or send it back. When I bite the burger it was just meh.. it wasn't Nasty but it was not that great either. I sent this Message to them after the experience. They responded tamest they would get back to me after the weekend. That was 2 weeks ago. Save your money and go to the pony or nation or sacred beast. Premium pricing with lackluster service and food: My gf and I saw your spot and had to give it a go. The menu is fine and I was craving the Italian beef as soon as I read that it was on the menu. The burger was good. But Thats pretty much the end of the praise. That positive side runs off the cliff when you start charging 50 cents for every single topping, on top of the $10 double patty burger. You're already a dollar more expensive than 5 guys for the same(ish burger taste and volume) if I want to add even the normals of lettuce, onion, tomato it's $1.50 more. Fries were hot. But I expected hand cut given the price and stripped down idea of your place. Also a pretty comically small cup full. The Italian beef I received had a toasted bun but the meat was DRY and not at all warm. It made the sandwich difficult to eat. Good volume of the giardinera but the gravy ran right over the meat wad and through the bun with no saving the sandwich. I use portillos as a decent level for comparison to any Italian beef. Yours is what I'd expect out of subway, but there's would have at least been warm. To add insult to injury, our food took a decent amount of time to get to us but that wasn't really that big of a deal. The milkshakes came out after we were finished with the food. Legit had 5 fries left. The staff were shopping the milkshakes around to figure out who ordered or needed what. We have number flags on our table for that. Even worse I had to ask for the second shake a few more times while we both split the first one. I was $50+ plus in to a very disappointing experience. Both food and service. read more
