Really like Mill Creek. The food is good. Typical pub food, but they do it very well. We get the nachos regularly, but have thoroughly enjoyed the Reuben and my husband loves their mushrooms. My only complaint is the volume of the music. It is so loud you can't have a conversation with the people at your own table. The servers have even asked us to repeat our order. I understand it's a bar, but that doesn't mean you have to have it so loud you can't think. It seriously makes me reconsider returning, and that's disappointing because it's a favorite place for us. read more

Food overall is good. Good selection of craft beer & drinks. The bacon jam burger is delicious & unique. The nachos were huge & pretty good. The ground beef on the nachos was flavorless & very light serving. Had to dig for it & it just was not there. I also asked if they could sub the beef for chicken & got a big no. I have gone here a few times over the past 5 months and have yet to have a bad experience. The food is always fresh and the service is always friendly. It's quickly becoming my favorite place in the GR area. The atmosphere and food is superior to the trendy downtown breweries and hipster joints. read more

April 3, Sunday, my husband and me went to thr MCT and had just a fabulous meal and great time! The staff there were amazing, Tom, Mandy, Terry were terrific and make you feel "at home". There aren't a ton of unique, locally owned restaurants in NW GR but Mill Creek recently came under new ownership and reopened so we decided to check them out. The kitchen occasionally closes early due to a lack of employees but lots of restaurants are struggling so we understand (just something to be mindful of). It's very much a locals bar and is a step up from your standard American dive bar. I've gone a couple of times recently and have been pretty impressed with the selection of food options. The fried pickles are thin, crunchy and flavorful and we love the Scott's Tots. The fish and chips is pretty good. Very lightly cornmeal breaded and not greasy at all which is a personal preference of mine. Not the best in GR but still ranks pretty high on my list. The burgers are also juicy and flavored and their fries are great. Service is surprisingly good even when they are short on employees and they are very friendly and helpful. I appreciate the owner walking around and checking on tables. You'll see him busting his butt around the restaurant and in the kitchen to help his team. Parking is behind the restaurant but is a little tricky to find/access if you aren't familiar with the area. Give them a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Great little place to have around the NW side of town and in our regular places when we want to stick near home. read more

Dress warm! Mill Creek Tavern recently started serving breakfast, so a group from work got together to try it out. The place was really cold - I don't think they have any heat at all. Even the staff wore coats, hats and gloves. Anyway, my breakfast test comes down to corned beef hash. It says a lot about a restaurant. Many places simply open a can of diced corned beef hash and put an egg on it with minimum effort. I'm happy to say the corned beef hash at Mill Creek Tavern is absolutely proper. Delicious, chunky, shredded corned beef mixed with hash browns and topped with perfectly cooked eggs (but toast costs extra, which is weird). For the hash, I give them a 9. If the potatoes were rustic chunks, it would be a ten. For the atmosphere, it's a 3 or 4 because of the lack of heat and our coffee cups often being empty with refills too far and few between. Other options tried at our table included breakfast burrito (which looked okay and came with a cup of sausage gravy), steak and eggs (which looked terrific) and a basic eggs and bacon (which looked basic). My plate included two wafer thin slices of orange. A little cup of fruit or reasonable pieces of orange would be great. Food presentation is nil. It's just your thing on a plate. Considering the attention that appears to go into cooking the food, a similar amount of attention to including a little side or anything for presentation would be welcome. If we could have had only one thing to raise the breakfast experience, it would have been a tie between heat and not letting our coffee cups go empty. read more

Just ate the best ahi tuna tacos EVER!! The tuna was complimented by baby kale, corn, jalapeño and a terrific sauce you have to try it!

We have come here a few times lately (appreciate the hours that are a little bit later than some places right now, so many early closes!) and can appreciate the classic pub food done well. The atmosphere is kind of your typical small town bar feel but it's relaxed and a nice change of pace! We really like it here and the staff has been very friendly and attentive. The only criticism I could make is that they could be better off giving their servers sections rather than sharing tables (from what it appears) as it can be easy to be forgotten for some periods of time (nothing major!). read more

I decided to get the wet burrito and my wife decided on the fish and fries with cole slaw. The burrito was one of the better ones I had as of late. Nice sauce. Stuffed full of beef and beans. Onto the fish. My wife absolutely loved it. She even told my son about it a couple days later. Nice and firm fish and the deep fry was perfect. Not to crunchy to show it was cooked to long. Fries were also fried just right. Not to greasy. Slaw was your average slaw. The atmosphere is an old time tavern style. Over all, a very nice dinner. read more

I know that staffing is short everywhere, but the level of indifference here is just jaw dropping to me. 3 people behind the bar, 5 people at the rail (including the 2 of us). First time at this venue before but have seen a ton of positive reviews on EatGR. They are one of very few paid sponsors on EatGr and have participated in a couple throw downs with the Rueben, pork chop dish(and won) and hosted an EatGr moderator meal.Our waitress said it's Happy Hour! Craft beers were on sale but only on pints and our waitress didn't distinguish when she asked tall or short. We ordered talls at $8.25 a beer. We ordered chips and dip (lattice potato chips and onion dip) along with a Philly with seasoned fries and ranch with an order of onion rings (can only order as an appetizer for $12). Dip and chips were good. Philly with seasoned fries were a mixed scenario. Fries seasoned well, crispy on outside, tender in the middle Philly sandwich was cold. Was excited because most places don't offer Cheez Wiz on their Philly's. The cheese was not creamy because it was cold. Onion rings were a huge portion. Crispy on the outside but doughy once you bite into them because not cooked enough. When waitress brought out our food she dumped a side of ranch on my phone! It was all over seeping in my phone case/phone. When we got our tab I was just was caught off guard on price of beers since our waitress didn't distinguish but also no compensation for ranch dressing being dumped on my phone. Stopped here after golf league on Monday and had a very good turfy and gouda sandwich on pretzel bread with apple butter. I am already craving another 24 hours later. They had 5 dollar burgers on Monday that looked tasty as well. I had a gin mule that was good enough as well. The serve was also quite slow but we had a larger group, so I completely understand the delay. I would have to say that the restaurant is good and solid. Ive been here twice now and had great experiences both times. The food has been pretty tasty, and so far Ive had the southwest chicken wrap and the brisket sandwich. Ive also tried a couple of bites of the fish tacos and I think I will try them next time. Wait times vary depending on how busy they are, but nothing out of the ordinary about it. The building is pretty cool as its really old and probably original to the downtown area so im sure it has some history. Parking is located mostly in the back, and I didnt see any parking up front. We have been going here for years with great food and service. Under new owner now. Went here on Saturday night. Waitress was less than friendly. Ordered the 8oz steak cooked medium. It was well done. Not an ounce of flavor. And the veggies were from a can. Side salad didn't even include cheese. NO KIDS MENU HERE. What?! Blows my mind. My Dad's burger was well done after he ordered it medium. Menu cut in half from what it used to offer. We won't be back. Very disappointed. read more

The first time I waited over 75 minutes (dinner time) for extremely underwhelming nachos and the second time we waited over and hour (lunch time) for extremely well done hockey puck burgers. Mind you the server asked how we would like them done and we all requested medium. The onion rings were so under fried the oil just absorbed into the batter and eventually sat at the bottom of the basket like a puddle. I would suggest not eating here in general ... ever. For me the food was pretty standard bar food. I got the southwest chicken wrap with fries and, like a typical mid westerner, ranch. The homemade ranch was delicious, and again the wrap and fries, standard. Our server seemed to be annoyed that we were there, and rushed even though the Friday lunch crowd was few and far between. The price, while not bad, could get you better food at many other lunch spots around GR. If you want a quick bite and not too many people for lunch, stop, but don't expect too much. read more

I came her a few times after playing golf for dinner, appitizers, and drinks. Found the staff to be friendly, the place was tidy, and the food was in big portions but my visits were bland and kind of forgettable. The food wasn't terrible by any means but it tasted just like a chain resturant; I'm not sure that any of what I got was homemade per sey. Had it not been for the good company I came with I wouldn't know about this bar and I wouldn't have come back had they not insisted. We came here for a bite to eat. I have eaten lunch here a few times in the past and the food was always good. Last night was not one of those times. We ordered the spinach dip and a chicken breast club sandwich. The spinach dip was good but the bread and chips it came with were rock hard. The chicken club was extremely dry and bland. The fries were okay but not that hot. My girlfriend had a rum and diet coke that was okay. I had a bottled beer that didn't seem cold enough. The bar itself has nice decor and feels comfortable. The two loud obnoxious drunks at the bar were annoying and the staff seemed indifferent to them. Our server was also the bartender and was pleasant. My daughters and I visited Mill Creek on a weeknight. There is a non-smoking section that is separated from the bar by a hallway, which made it pretty smoke-free. The wait service was pretty slow, in spite of a fairly empty restaurant, but they were friendly. We ordered a kid pasta with alfredo, a steak and fries, and a turkey reuben sandwich with homemade potato chips. The pasta came with marinara sauce instead of alfredo, but my 6-year-old ate it all and liked it. I was surprised it didn't come with salad or a vegetable. The reuben was good, but the potato chips were overbaked and unseasoned. My 11-year-old said the steak was tasty, but the fries were nothing special. I thought the price was quite expensive for the small amount of food we had. read more
