My family and I are new to the area. My college daughter was tasked with finding a new dentist. She needed to have some cavities filled. She did some research and decided to go to millennium dental associates. She was seen in September. It was not a good experience. When I saw the itemized bill, I was floored. The exorbitant charges, The lack of explanation for unnecessary add on's, the confusion in billing and insurance, the disorganized staff and the quality of the dental work left us in awe. My daughter was asked to pay for the bill before she left. It was a very large bill for a simple procedure. On multiple occasions, we were told that millennium dental would bill our insurance as a courtesy. My insurance company reported on three occasions that they did not receive anything from millennium dental, even after I made requests . I finally sent the patient ledger to my insurance company myself. We just received reimbursement from our dental insurance yesterday. February. This is unacceptable. Lastly, my daughter had to go to a different dentist to help fix the work that this office charged so much for. I wish others had been more honest in their reviews of this place. I've been searching for a holistic dentist to go to and came across Millennium Dental online. Their webpage was eye catching, the doctors seem to be well educated and it's close to my home. I quickly gave them a call to get some questions answered before scheduling. I really hate to say that the woman over the phone was unprofessional, short in her answers to my questions and didn't seem to be in a helpful mood whatsoever. The phone call ended shortly. I decided to give them one more shot and called back later that day, having a few other questions to ask after speaking to my dental insurance. Unfortunately, this phone call was even worse. No customer service, didn't seem to want to give me the time of day and literally ended the call by saying "k" then proceeded to hang up. I was almost in disbelief that this person was allowed to be answering the phone here. They won't be receiving any of my business. read more

Dr. Meyers is one of those really rare individuals that are top experts in their field. You know, the really hard to find doctors that know what they are doing, enjoy what they do and are highly educated and self motivated towards always improving his/her education and expertise. I have seen only a few in my day, and they were highly sought after practitioners/instructors at top Universities. He is truly a gem. I love going there - really - to the dentist (never thought I would ever say that). His knowledge of head and neck anatomy will amaze you. His palpation skills are remarkable, and his chair side manor is great. You can really tell that he enjoys his profession thoroughly, is highly educated and truly cares about his patients. The staff is just as top-notch. Dr. Meyers only employees the best! Patricia (the receptionist) is so helpful, down to earth and very professional. The assistants - wow - they will also amaze you with their knowledge, compassion and positive manor. They are very professional. I have always believed that you can tell how good and well rounded a doctor is by the office staff that he/she has. This is a prime example of expertise; they are a truly superior team of health care professionals - probably (in my opinion) the best to be found in all of AZ. They see patients quickly too. I have never sat in the waiting room for very long ~3-5 minutes. Plus, they happily schedule appointments when it is convenient for you and your schedule. And it is not just me; while sitting briefly in the waiting area, I overheard Patricia scheduling for another patient who did not like to come in the early morning. Trish new her and immediately began to give her appointment options. They happily cater to you, are always friendly and really want you to be happy. I am a Registered Nurse and went to Dr. Meyer at the beginning of January for a consult, after hearing about the work that he did. He was very genuine and really listened to my health concerns, to find doctors that actually listen, without trying to jam their regimen down your throat is so very rare. He removed the permanent metal retainer behind my teeth and I felt amazing! His staff were all so helpful and accommodating, and very geared towards holistic care. On the next visit Dr. Meyer identified several cavitation's where my wisdom teeth had been removed. We set up an appointment and the next Friday I had these areas cleaned out and some of my jawbone that was infected surgically removed. The procedure was very relaxing compared to other dental surgeries I'd had in the past, and one of Dr. Meyer's dogs even sat on my lap for a good portion of it! The recovery from surgery was very minimal and I didn't even need to use pain medication. Dr. Myers explained that this was due to the homeopathic pain medication that he used. It has now been a month since the surgery and I can say that my sinus pain and pain coming from near my ears is down 70-80%! And I feel I have significantly more energy. It is truly amazing how your teeth can affect your health. It is important to note here that I had gotten 4 opinions on this before from 3 dentists and 1 oral surgeon and they had all told me that cavitation's were impossible and not trust dentist's that said otherwise. I now know that it was those dentist's that I shouldn't have trusted as the proof was in the pudding. Not only do I feel better and have more energy, but the pathology, FROM 3 DIFFERENT LABS mind you, showed many different infections and necrotic bone. I cannot say enough great things about this clinic, they exceeded my expectations every step of the way. Office visit and 3D cone beam CT scan is WAYYY higher than any other dentist, holistic or conventional... I paid the price by not checking others first. Walked out with over $1300 just for my initial exam and a 3D scan. No one in the country charges that much. The receptionist's explanation was vague, false and baseless after I called to find out why that is... Please do your homework. I am a huge advocate of biological dentistry and I was looking for someone local after moving. I decided to make an appointment with Dr Meyer to help diagnose and hopefully treat some ongoing dental issues. I called to make a new patient appointment and scheduled. When I arrived, we went into a small conference room to talk. I told him I was looking forward to his professional opinion based on an exam and testing, to which he nodded. He asked me to go through my (complicated) history, and I was very eager to get his professional opinion. Imagine my shock when he announced we were at the end of our appointment and that was it. There was no exam, he did not even look in my mouth once. I gave him my history, he told me what could be happening, and said if I wanted to know I would have to come back for a separate (additionally billed) exam. What kind of dentist/doctor does a new patient appointment without an exam?! And charges the patient $250 for said appointment without prior explanation that there would be no exam. I left with no further information than when I had arrived. He also had called me a name (!!!) and insulted me, which I told him was horribly inappropriate and unprofessional. He did apologize but at that point I was decidedly turned off by him. Fast forward a couple weeks and I need to undergo a medical procedure and have been recommended to have my teeth cleaned first to reduce the chance of infection spreading. I decided to call Dr Meyer's office and schedule a cleaning, figuring I would give them another shot. This is where it gets pretty unbelievable. They told me I would have to schedule a new patient exam before they could clean my teeth, because they need to determine "what kind" of cleaning I need! I explained that I had already been for a new patient appointment, but they refused to schedule me for a cleaning without coming for a separately charged exam, which should have been included in my initial appointment and hefty fee. I really detest "bottom feeders" who prey on people with health issues and are concerned more with money than their patients' health and wellbeing. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend anyone go here, and I guess I'll consider this is a blessing in disguise after reading the other negative review! Beware. read more

This dental practice bills itself as a holistic biological one. I saw their information online and I went to them (Dr Meyers) to originally have my amalgams taken out. Before going I had a pretty good dentist but felt it would be a good idea to try to find a dentist who specialized in holistic practices. Going to this dentist turned out to be a big mistake for both my wife and I. We found that overall the practice was very good at selling procedures but no very good and delivering results. After gong to this dentist I was talked into doing a number of procedures that ended up really negatively impacting my health. I felt that I was sold a number of procedures that weren't necessary in the end. At one point I ended up with a serious infection from the dental work performed here that sent me to the hospital twice. My health really deteriorated and it took me over a year to recover from the nightmare. Going to this dentist cost my thousands and thousands of dollars and really set me back. I finally went to another dentist after realizing that I had made a big mistake with Dr. Meyers. The new dentist really helped me and diagnosed my issues correctly, got me new treatment, and I'm so much better off now. This made me further realize that the treatments with Dr Meyers were likely unnecessary, were very costly, and impacted my health. From my experience I have to say that one should be really, really careful with this dentist. I'd hate to see anyone else suffer as I did. read more

Dr. Meyers is not only an incredibly knowledgable and skillfull practioner in his field of biological dentistry but also an extremely nice person. His demeanor puts you at ease. I found he and his staff totally forthcoming about how the initial consultation and subsequent exam would proceed. The consultation involved my description of all of my dental problems and then the doctor's analysis of what he would recommend as the best possible solution. He also suggested other solutions that I could choose if necessary because of any personal preferences or financial situation. It was an extremely informative session and I had a lot to think about before I came back in for the examination. He gave me a folder with everything written down about what I had learned, including the costs for each plan. I was given time to go home and think about it and then make the decision as to whether or not I wanted to go ahead with one of the plans he had outlined. I thought this was very professional and considerate. And he earned my trust. There was no pressure or bullying during the discussion as I had been subjected to by several conventional doctors and dentists prior to seeing Dr. Meyers. Big difference. Very much appreciated. I elected to go back for the exam after I had made my decision about the plan of action. The exam revealed multiple infections in my upper and lower jaw. He completed extensive dental surgery in a just a few visits where I experienced little discomfort because of the skillful procedures used by him and his assistent. They used homeopathic calming supplements (not drugs) at the beginning of each surgery and healing/pain-reducing laser treatments at the end. At-home care included additonal homeopathic pain and toxin eliminating products. The results have been wonderful. I am free of all the infection caused by old root canals and carcinogenic metal crowns and my new teeth are beautiful! read more

This is the rudest dental office. They charge exorbitant fees and do not care about the patient. It's clear they only care about the money. Although I am fine paying, I was treated with such disrespect by the office manager. She raised her voice at me for missing an appointment. I was willing to pay for the missed appointment but it was clear she wanted to fight over the phone. No one deserves to be mistreated. I wanted zirconium implants - I thought they'd be better. Turns out my body rejected 2 and after I chose to do a muscle test which confirmed non-compatability, asked the dr. to remove the 3rd also even though that one was implanted in the bone which dr meyers didn't seem to want to do and he even seemed annoyed most of the time with me. I mostly liked this office, but I want others to know this can happen and I since heard it seems common with woman. He replaced them with a bridge and did make me whole, and the healing treatments were great, but that was months ago and I have not heard from the office at all... Do your pre-testing. read more

I'd give zero stars, if possible. My 17 year old daughter needed a procedure only done by biological dentists. The first appointment was me explaining her history while he sat looking annoyed. He didn't crack a smile once. She also received a Novocaine shot to see if that would help her pain. My daughter has a terrible dental phobia and Dr. Meyer seemed to not care at all that she was panicking and hyperventilating. It was obvious that he was quite displeased with the situation. She was given pano xrays and then I had to come back a couple weeks later for the results. When I went back he informed me that my daughter was "unmanageable" and if she wasn't being put out he wouldn't do the procedure. Apparently, he doesn't realize that some people don't do well with dentists. Actually, I think he just doesn't care. He was cold and rude. After insulting my kid, he informed me that the procedure including anesthesia would be $30,000. Yes, $30,000. Fast forward to yesterday, my daughter had the procedure with a wonderful biological dentist who charged me $6,550 for the surgery which included the anesthesia, two cavities filled, and her teeth cleaned. So, if you are looking for a sour-faced, cold, greedy dentist then Dr. Meyer is the one for you. read more

Stay away! Meyer once had a neuromuscular expert with 30 years of experience with TMJ/TMD issues and then let her go. After 4 years of perfect treatment with the experienced person, he took over care. As a direct result of his "care" I ended up with severe sleep deprivation for week, culminating in 5 days of no sleep. No sleep means the nervous system is totally shot; digestion is pretty minimal. This is the downward spiral to death. I reported 3 weeks prior to this I wasn't sleeping due to appliance issues. There was something that would have helped on the shelf in the office (of course I had no way to know this) and that was withheld. The entire office knew for 4 weeks that my TMD appliance didn't have "stops." That meant that inside my mouth was like having a jolly rancher type of candy attached to a retainer, and sliding around on that slick surface constantly. Try that - try constantly moving your lower jaw front to back and side to side non-stop. The human body cannot sustain this, and yet I was told I'd have to learn to not be so picky and learn to live with this. With the TMD appliance out, I had no support, which is equally has hard on the nervous system. Hence the sleep deprivation. I complained, I returned again and again to the office. His staff actually laughed at me when I said all I was doing was sliding around. After 4 years of a great experience, this was simply horrible. No one should have to go through what I went through.
