The Baseline: For a theme park attraction, a quality experiences must be provided, the attraction must be fun and engaging, an immersive environment must be established, the queue line must be themed, and safety must be a top priority. Queue: This is a great queue while waiting to ride with a ton of immersive Star Wars themed decor. The view of the Millennium Falcon is awesome and it feels like you are "doing some Star Wars" while you wait. Attraction: This is the ride that lets you crew the Millennium Falcon on a mission and that is awesome by itself. If you have a group of 6 people you are with then this ride is even better. Basics is there is a pilot, co-pilot, 2 gunners, and 2 engineers crewing the ship and you all have your jobs via your roles. You then get to go on a "railroad path" for a pre generated story but gives you some level of video game ability to interact as you go along the ride. That in itself is fun but there is a new Mandolorian overlay that has made it better. Now if you are an engineer you will get a chance to determine you destination for the second half of the ride (Coruscant, Bespin, or Endor) after you fly through Tatooine. This 5-minute interactive dark ride puts you in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, with three roles to choose from: pilot, gunner, and engineer. A total crew of six can join, with two people per position. Pilots: The left-side pilot controls left and right motion as well as the brakes! Right-side pilot controls up and down, as well as the Lightspeed lever! Gunners: You get to "pew pew" at stuff. There is a setting for Auto or Manual tracking. This ride usually has an average wait time of 25-30mins but there are a couple places to rest your bum in the line. This is another interactive ride. There are 6 people on the ride with you and you need to decide which two will be pilots, shooters, and engineers. I personally like to be an engineer. When you're a pilot, remember up is down and down is up because you're flying. FYI, if the people flying can't fly, this can be a very bumpy ride. Wow it's been so long since we did this ride and finally went again today 5/10/2026 Mother's Day. This time our flight cabin was only 4 people and it still worked! Mom was pilot. Kiddo was gunner. Dad and youngest kiddo were the engineers. We made it safely back with loot in tow, came back with positive credits too. Wow, couldn't believe that happened with only 4 passengers instead of all 6 available seats. Fun times. Youngest kiddo made the height requirement and cried during the 15-20 min wait time in line. I have been on millennium falcon smugglers run a handful of times. This is the first time writing the one with Mandalorian and Grogu in it. It made it more fun and interesting than the previous version. I didn't mind waiting in line this time around however, I messed up when we were lining up to be divided up in groups. I'd said that I was with a party of two and now automatically, we were going to be the engineers. I was telling my sister entire time I wanted to be a pilot. Oh well, that is on me. There is a single rider line, but over there you are guaranteed to be engineer pretty much. There is supposed to be a Grogu mode and hopefully I try that out next time. The wait times don't seem to be as bad overall so this is a good option, especially if you are here in the galaxy's edge. read more

What a ride! The Starwar rides are always a big hit and a huge attraction. Everyone and they mommas want to ride this one and the other one (rise of the resistance). My family and I enjoy this ride because it's interactive - it requires 6 people to be Pilots, Gunners and Enginners. It is an interactive flight stimulation ride where how well you play effects the outcome. I personally think the best spot is being a Pilot as you get to either control the ship left/right or up/down. Gunners just push buttons over and over again while protecting the ship and shooting the enemies and Engineers are obviously responsible for fixing the ship from damages. During our last trip, there were only 4 of us and we did not have Engineers which did not effect anything. Overall, it's a cool ride, but from what I can tell, nothing changes or rotates so riding it once during your visit is usually enough! read more

I have loved this ride for a really long time. I personally prefer the old mission over the new one and think that the new mission in a way is easier. Definitely less bumpy, which is good for some bad for others. I prefer the old one. Anyway, this is probably one of the coolest interactive rights to do at Disneyland depending on which cast member you get, and if you get there on a day where they have assist positions or not. Depending on those two variables that could be a one star day or a five star day, but I felt that four stars was more appropriate, overall it is really fun. So I made the mistake of going on this ride by myself, without any background knowledge of what the ride was about. It was a little more than just "sit in a car and let the ride take you on an adventure." I was placed with a large family, so I was kind of an unwanted honorary family member for a ride. I do mean unwanted...I didn't realize this ride is partially interactive and that everyone in the group plays a different part in the adventure. It's a cool concept, but I learned my skillset does not include pressing buttons. Next time I will not be going on this one alone, because it's a really cool ride for groups (big and small). May take a minute to recompose after riding or have a bit of a headache. This ride is fun for those who know what they're doing. It is pretty fun getting to feel like you're in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon and I do appreciate the animatronics before the ride to help with narrative or story. Really cool set and ride design that really fits into the them of Galaxy's Edge. It's interactive in that you have a small crew you ride with and everybody has a different function - pilots, gunners, and engineers. So the experience may vary based on who is with you and especially depends on who is in the pilot seat it seems. A good time overall though. I usually try to hit this ride up when I have a lightning pass and I'm in the Galaxy's Edge area. Or if it's a little on the later side, the lines for this ride seem to be usually very short. So if you want to experience it and it's around 8pm, I've been able to get on within 15-20 mins. A solid, fun ride especially if you're a Star Wars fan. DISNEYLAND RIDE #7 Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Haven't been back at Disneyland since I was 16-years-old, this was my first time ever seeing all the Star Wars stuff and riding the Star Wars-themed rides, like this interactive one. Being a fan of the Star Wars franchise (especially Grogu!), they could not be missed under any circumstances. We purchased a Lightning Lane Pass for this ride, which was about a 10 minute wait time. Upon entering, groups of six are put on each interactive ride. We were put in a group with four other people, where two would be the pilots, two would be the controllers, and two would be the engineers. We then "boarded" the Millennium Falcon after our group was put together and after we decided who would be in charge of what. My LTP was one of the pilots and I was one of the engineers. It felt like we were riding and controlling a real Millennium Falcon! Like a video game, except not really haha. If you're an engineer, you don't get to do much but sit in the back and press numerous buttons. Don't worry if you're confused about what to do. If the buttons next to you light up, that means you're supposed to press them. I couldn't see what the pilots were doing, but this is also the same with the controllers, where you have to press one button over and over again when it lights up. Riding the Millennium Falcon was fun. Would definitely do it again! read more

Took a trip with friends to Disneyland in August 2025. I was at Disney last year but didn't do this ride so had to give it a go. It was our last ride of the day. The line was about 35 minutes long the shortest it had been all day so clearly we had to. Once inside with all of the intricate twists and turns I realized why the length of time. Thankfully it moved pretty quickly and while it did I took pictures of all of the detail that they made sure to get. The realism was uncanny. We got to the divide we were asked how many in our party and pointed in directions to stand. Characters came around and never broke character and gave us our assignments. Doors opened and we climbed into the "vessel". Our group of four was joined by a mother and her young son. Our ship took off and the games began. Two of my friends were responsible for piloting and navigating and myself, another friend, and the young son were gunners. Oh my gosh! My friend piloting kept crashing which made the whole "vessel" shake and buck. It was hilarious and put all of us including the mom and son into complete fits of laughter. We barely made it from the docking station because we couldn't stop cackling and sliding around and shaking with the ride the whole time. It was absolutely great and a perfect way to end the day! Highly recommend doing this ride with people who can have a good time and don't take things like this too seriously and you will also have a blast and a half! read more

In theory, Smugglers Run is great. A group of you and your friends get to sit in the cockpit and fly the Millennium Falcon. It's a more interactive version of Star Tours which is already an iconic Disneyland ride. However, you quickly learn that if you're a gunner, you're just hitting the same button over and over again. If you're the mechanic, you might hit a few more buttons throughout the ride. And if you're the pilot, a couple buttons and a switch to go into hyperdrive. It all feels like really passive interactivity. In the end, I was honestly disappointed that I waited almost an hour to ride the ride. With that said, there is still something cool about walking through the common area of the ride & sitting in the cockpit. If you have a big enough group of friends to take all 6 seats and the wait isn't too long, I'd say go for it. It's a fun group activity. However, if there's a long line or you are a smaller group that is going to get paired with some strangers, it might not be as much fun as you anticipated. read more

I had never been on it and I didn't want to pay for a lightning lane, so I just waited until I saw on the Disney app that it had about a 5 minute wait. During the day, it was very busy in this area of the park and the lines were ridiculous. So that's why I waited until night time. We walked right on as a party of five. The queue is pretty long so those with mobility issues are not going to want to walk up hill the entire time. I would let a cast member know of mobility issues and see how they can help, that would be my suggestion. The ride can seat up to 6 people and you each get a station you sit facing forward inside the millennium falconlooking at very realistic screen . You then go through a fast paced chase scene. It's similar to Star tours but upgraded. It's very fun and I would recommend this ride. read more

So I show up to Batuu thinking I'm just gonna have a quiet drink, maybe avoid some First Order patrols, and next thing I know--some guy named Hondo "borrows" the Falcon for a little coaxium run. Says he needs a crew. I say, I am the crew. But nooo, apparently I need a couple tourists to fly my ship. Pilot Position - Left Seat (a.k.a. Me, the Legend): Look, when you're flying the Falcon, it's all about style. I hit hyperspace smoother than Lando in a cape shop. Had some rookie sitting next to me pushing us up and down like a Womp Rat on a trampoline, but hey--we didn't crash. Much. Pilot Position - Right Seat (a.k.a. That Other Guy): They were in charge of vertical control and somehow managed to clip every single wall in the galaxy. We took more hits than a Rodian karaoke night. But props--they hit the lever when I yelled "Punch it!" like they meant it. Gave me goosebumps. Or maybe that was the coolant leak... Gunner Seat - Pew Pew Mayhem: I had a couple hotshots on the guns, and by hotshots I mean button mashers with the reflexes of a sleeping bantha. Still, they got the job done--TIEs exploded, coaxium secured, minimal property damage. Could've used Chewie, but hey, these guys had heart. Final Thoughts: She may not look like much, but the Falcon still makes the Kessel Run feel like a joyride. Just do me a favor--don't scratch the paint next time. This ride is really fun especially if you want to feel like you are really flying the Millennium Falcon. The line for this is usually not to bad but there are times where it can be over an hour. This ride is included in the Lighting Lane so you can select it to have a shorter wait time. The line is pretty cool on this one especially once you get to the upper area where it feels like to are right there next to the aircrafts and really feel like you are about to board the Millennium Falcon. Before you board you are taken to this little waiting area where you can explore and touch a bunch of buttons and touch some cool items. This just adds to the experience and feel that you really are immersed into this world. You are assigned either Pilot, Gunner or Engineer. 2 seats per each position. The Pilots get the most fun out of this ride as they get to really fly the Millennium Falcon. It is a lot of work but also a lot of fun. This is obviously the best way to experience this ride and luckily I have gotten to do this at least once. I will say if there is a kid in the front they usually cant do all the task required and it makes it a super bumpy ride so maybe switch places with them if possible. The other two are fun also but you really are just pushing buttons but it still makes you feel apart of the whole experience. At the end you are given a score of how well you did in your assignment. Overall I do like this ride but is it a must ride? If you have never done it and are a Star Wars fan I say yes. If you have already been on it or it doesn't really interest you then I say only do it if there is a short wait. After the rope dropped, this is where we power walked to for our first ride of the day. It's located all the way at the back of Disneyland, so, you get an instant increase heart rate! I was the captain and got to play with the dashboard. But boy did I scream my head off, it felt very realz! Incredible ride but I did feel a little nauseous afterwards. My Dramamine didn't kick in 100% yet but I was fine for the rest of the rides for the day. If you get too dizzy on the ride, just close your eyes. All will be OK. read more

I am a big Han Solo fan and the Millennium Falcon is my favorite ship from the Star Wars movies. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was the first ride that opened inside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge when the themed land opened in 2019. It is a motion simulator ride that lets six different people sit inside the cockpit of the Falcon. Each person is assigned the role of either the pilot, gunner or engineer as you jump into hyperspace towards a new adventure. I am usually not a fan of motion simulator rides because I get motion sickness so easily. But after riding Smugglers Run for the first time, I felt just fine and have been on the ride several times now. The thing that I love most about this ride is being able to stand next to the actual Millennium Falcon out front. Once inside, you can walk around the inside of the ship as you wait for the ride to start. They have a makeshift holochess table that you can sit at that was featured in the Star Wars movies. In the Star Wars universe, the game itself is called Dejarik and was Chewbacca's favorite game. One of my favorite Star Wars characters is Hondo Ohnaka and he is your guide on the ride. Overall, I enjoy going on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened not too long afterwards and is a lot more fun in my opinion. But I still love them both. I'm just happy that Disney created this land for us Star Wars fans. It is fun walking around Galaxy's Edge and getting all those nostalgic feelings from being a life-long Star Wars fan. read more

The interactive aspect of this ride is unique for sure and the fact that different roles have different responsibilities is cool too. I'm not really into Star Wars so I can't really comment on the accuracy or the hype factor it'd have on a fan, but it's a fun ride to try at least once and it's worth it if the wait isn't long either. However, I feel like anything over a 30 minute wait would make this ride wholly not worth it. There are single rider lanes too if it helps to speed up your wait. When you enter the ride, as with the newer attractions at the park, there's lots to look at! You get assigned into color groups to board your ship, you get instructions on your Smugglers Run, and there's a separate waiting room with seats and buttons you can press before you get on the actual ride. Before you get on the ride, you're assigned as either pilots, gunners, or engineers. Based on what we saw, I feel like the pilot roles would be the most difficult as you'd have to maneuver, navigate, and there's multiple different things to engage with and you're looking at the huge screen in front. Gunner would be rapid fire pressing buttons and my boyfriend and I were engineers (pressing various buttons and flipping switches when they light up to repair the ship). Your crew is scored at the end (we got an 85%) and the damages are also factored in as well. I guess this ride really tests your ability to multitask as it was hard, at least for me to pay attention to what was going on in front of the ship and then turn around to also push the necessary buttons and flip the switches. I can imagine the frustration though if you get grouped with people who don't get what's going on or children who suck (no offense lol). read more

So this is like an updated and more interactive Star Tours. We were a group of six which is perfect because 6 people board the falcon. 2 of us were pilots, 2 were gunners, and two were engineers. I really like this ride bc everyone had to work together. Fantastic idea for a ride to build teamwork. Each role is important and everyone's score contributes to the overall team score. Probably my least enjoyable experience at Disneyland, and I am a huge Star Wars fan. The lines were twice as long as advertised, the route was claustrophobic with few places to sit and rest, and people were generally rude and grumpy, which made the wait experience probably one of the worst ever. The ride at the end was nothing special. Should have invested our time somewhere else. On the plus side, Star Wars Land itself was wonderful, with several character encounters (such as Chewbacca and Kylo Ren) and unusual food and gift choices. I love being the pilot on the right! Up is down, down is up! This ride used to have super long lines but lately, if you're lucky, it'll be less than 20 min wait. Especially towards the end of the night! If your CM knows how to do it, ask for Chewie/Chewbacca! You get to hear him throughout the ride. Wow, what a ride to do, one that pulls you in and makes you a part of the ride itself. If you have never had the chance to partake in this ride, you know what I mean. If you haven't had the chance to partake in this ride, just know you are in for a massive 'what just went on' moment. When we were waiting for our turn in the vehicles we played around with the area we were standing in. We pushed a few buttons and thought we were going to be yelled at by the cast members, but in fact we were encouraged to continue. After that, we were escorted to our vehicle and told the jest of the ride. At this point, I think it is best to inform you that doing this ride with just three people is not the easiest thing to do. We were underprepared for this and going forward, if I ever return, I would make sure that we had more people with us for our ride. You need at least four to complete this ride. Two for steering and one for each other section. Listen, if I thought it was possible any other way, I wouldn't be saying this. But I was in the steering section and I was overwhelmed. It is nearly impossible to control both steering sides. One steers vertically and one steers horizontally, it is nearly impossible to maneuver the ship to complete your mission. However, as it may be nearly impossible, it is not completely impossible to accomplish. We somehow managed to complete our mission and make it to the end of this ride in victory. Albeit a little sorer as I was reaching all ways to accomplish 'flying.' Is it worth the hype, probably not. But it is worth the time once you are already in the Star Wars area of the park. read more

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run is an interactive ride that takes guests on an adventure through the galaxy. The ride is much like an immersive video game. Each rider is assigned a role. Roles include pilots, gunners and engineers. Points are given for how everyone interacts with and how accurately they perform their positions. It is easy to get engrossed in one's assigned roles, and not really pay attention to what everyone else is doing. As someone who easily gets dizzy on these types of rides, I appreciated being assigned the position of engineer. Engineers are responsible for fixing the ship. This meant I got to focus on clicking blinking lights on a panel rather than focusing on the screen. I did look up a couple of time to see the screen, but I didn't get nearly as dizzy as I do on Star Tours. Much like the rest of Galaxy's Edge, the ride is well themed. Star Wars fans, young and old, will delight on getting to board the infamous Millennium Falcon. The que is decorated. Everything is made to immerse guests into the world if Star Wars. read more
