Hmm. I've heard about this place a lot and was hoping to be amazed. But after having been to Stomp's recently, I guess I'm a little hard to please right now when I want a good burger. I came here during weekday lunch and it was quite busy the whole time, so it looks like it still has quite a following. I got the grilled onion burger and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't amazing either. The beef patty was a little bland and really really greasy, with juice consistently dripping down the table and my fingers until I got through most of of the burger. The poppy seed bun fell a little flat as well and didn't really add much to the burger. The fries and the onion rings were decent, and that was about it. read more

Pros: food came out quick, options for whole wheat bun instead of just white flour, and the portions were big. Cons: not a super friendly atmosphere...workers were polite, but I walked in and wasn't greeted and just looked at until I said "hi". Even though the portions were big and there was a lot on my burger, it wasn't big on flavor...basically just a lot of different ingredients put together. I wouldnt go here again. We live Millers! We have been\ to the Clear Lake Cafe and the one in Scurlock Towers in the Medical Center. Years ago we would go to the one on South Main before Astros games in the dome ! After driving past this place since 1980, my family and I decided to give it a try the other day for the first time. The interior looked like it was inspired by the old Black Eyed Pea Restaurant that used to be further down Bay Area Blvd. who knows maybe when the BEP remodeled in the 1990's, Miller's bought all their old stuff. The Hamburgers were good, but I think they are over priced. There was nothing about this place that made me feel like I would go out of my way to eat here again, but I would if I happened to be near by and had money biting a hole in my pocket. read more

Stopped by because everyone in this area raves about thier burgers. To my surprise, it did not disappoint. The burgers are pretty decent. I had the guacamole burger and some fries. The fries were okay kinda soggy but i didnt mind. As I was eating i did notice alot of elderly couples and thier familys coming in to dine as well, definitely a good family spot and would recommend you to give this place a shot. I was in the mood for a big burger and fries so I stopped in. First, the lady taking orders was not very friendly and didn't try to answer any questions I had. I was pretty much told to look at the board to answer my questions. When I asked her about the "Almost Famous Burger" she appeared annoyed and impatient so I just ordered a bacon and BBQ burger with sweet potato fries. When I did get my food I took a bite and realized that the cheese in my burger was that ultra processed yellow cheese used for grilled cheese sandwiches. For the price of the burgers I was expecting at least some actual cheese (cheddar or Swiss). The sweet potato fries were really yummy. The burger was decent but not something I would recommend. I would have given this place 3 stars but I actually started having stomach cramps on my drive home. Something in the burger made me sick because I didn't have breakfast and I didn't think the fries would make me sick. I don't plan on coming back because the service was more than terrible and the burger made me sick. I had a better burgers and service from the Greek restaurant across the street. read more

I have been going to Miller's Care for over 15 years. I have never been disappointed and always walk out asking myself, "why did I eat so much?" It is seriously difficult to stop eating until all my food is gone. The staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile. The food is phenomenal. Millers is a staple restaurant for Clear Lake. Their burgers are the perfect size and can even be split for two. My favorite is the blue cheese burger and their sweet potato fries. I like to consider myself quite the burger expert and I can assure you at this quaint burger joint you'll get one of the best burgers you've ever had. The burgers are of "Texas" size I guess you could say, they definitely do not short you on your portion of beef. I find myself full just on the first half, but yes being me (gluttony and all) I have to at least attempt to finish the entire thing. They peel their own french fries, which I choose to order extra crispy, only because I like perfect golden brown fries with just that perfect amount of crunch, that once you know you hear it, you know steam heat will be emitted, allowing you to acknowledge the fact that you just ate a perfect fry. If your more for sandwiches, I recommend them as well, especially the tuna which they put lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles, I personally omit the onion, just not my thang and ask for extra pickle. I'm sure though that any way you decide to get your sandwich it will still be very tasty. They are a Pepsi drink joint, but I'm sure that if you are a coke drinker you can choose to be Sweden for one day and go neutral with DP. Their workers are very nice and I have yet to have a bad experience with any of them or the restaurant in general. Many places are Frat Star/ Sorostitute, Yuppie, or your Everyday business hang out, but lunch here at Miller's you will certainly begin to see it's close distance to NASA. If you have any questions on Aeronautics or Aerospace I'm sure you will find yourself surrounded by many willing engineers to answer your curiosities! At dinner it is more of family and local joint, so regardless either lunch or dinner it is a very welcoming atmosphere. All in all I have been coming here since I could probably first chew and I will continue to come here until my dentures fail to stay in, even still, if there's a will there's always a way. read more

Good place to grab a burger at the busy intersection of Space Center and Bay Area. It's a counter ordering place. I'll summarize its qualities by... Outstanding attributes: Customer service - friendly staff behind the counter, hard working in the dining room. Food Quality - Not surpassed by very many...burgers, underrated hot dogs, other hot sandwiches are all good. Fries...good. Never had anything here that was subpar. Food Variety - Menu of a lot of good hot sandwiches of all types, you won't look through the whole thing and not find something you like. Unless you don't like this type of place. Average attributes: Location - good for being in the middle of everything, bad for difficulty of getting in and out of busy streets. Atmosphere - It's a bit cramped and tough to find tables for a group of more than 5 or 6. Tables are tightly arranged. It's got a good homey atmosphere, they could just use a few hundred more feet. Below average attributes: Prices - A bit high for a counter order place. Seems tough to get out of there for less than $10 if you get fries and a drink. Note, they are VERY liberal with coupons in the local media. If you live in the area, save those coupon mailers and clip them. It's usually a buy one get one, which makes it better. Parking - It's just so busy there, can be tough. Bottom line, this is a 4 star place if you have a buddy and a coupon, you'll get a great value of great food in a very fun atmosphere. read more

They are allowing customers to form long lines instead of standing six feet apart. They are not wiping down tables after people leave either. An absolutely killer burger joint in Clear Lake. All sorts of variety, including mushroom, chili-cheese, and guacamole burgers (those three being among my favoirites). I don't recall if there was a veggie patty option or not, but given the ample patty size of the real beef, I wouldn't expect it. I wouldn't want to go up against the staff in a burger making contest. This is our favorite burger joint, we've been eating here for years. The guacamole burger is my go to burger while my hubby and kids like the bbq burger. My mother was visiting from another state and she loves hamburgers so I couldn't wait to bring her here. Miller's USED to be amazing, now they're kinda hit and miss. The burgers are huge, and sometimes they're even hot! I usually get onion rings as I'm really partial to them and when they're hot they're really good! It seems like one week the food is hot and tasty, and two weeks later not so much. It's never been terrible, but it's just inconsistent. This food review is based on my cheeseburger and Frito pie experience. I frequent the Goodwill in the same plaza so I've been passing this place up for years now. Finally decided to test it out when in the area the other day. I went on Yelp and although the overall ratings on this spot are not mind blowing, the hamburgers get a bunch of love. I ordered to go and the customer service seemed fine. There is a huge ice cooler in the dining room full of ice and beer. Yes, the kind of cooler you would take camping or to the beach with you. It's a nice touch and a very Texas move. There is a sign above it that says help yourself. I'm going to assume those beers are not free but still a very nice touch. The food was quickly prepared and I headed off to the car to dig on in. Let's get the bad out of the way first. I grew up playing Little League baseball and I was raised on concession stand Frito Pies. Frito pie's are an American tradition like Pink Houses and Apple Pie. Ok, well yeah.....This Frito pie absolutely sucked. The chili season was spicy for some reason and it tasted like can food. Not one Frito in it had any crunch to it. The cheese tasted cheap and I gotta say, it was the worst Frito pie I ever tried. The cheeseburger was the polar opposite. The serve up one mean mother freaking burger guys. This was probably the juiciest burger I've ever eaten. Every single bite provided an explosion of juices and great taste. The topping were fresh and crispy. This will definitely be one of my go to spots to grab a burger on the go. Stay away from the Frito pie. read more

It was National Burger Day so we yelped a good burger place. Miller's is close to our work so we went around 11:15am. Line was out the door. We debated leaving, but we stuck it out. It was National Burger Day after all. The line moved relatively fast. It was strange there was only one order taker behind the counter on such an important national holiday. Others might think its weird, but I liked the fact she was just writing our order on one of those old-school receipt pads. She tore off the number from the bottom and handed it to us. A food runner would shout your number and then bring your food to the table. Don't forget to pick up your napkins and utensils before you sit down or you'll be getting up again to go get some. I ordered the jalapeno burger and it was DELICIOUS. I love spicy and this thing has tons of jalapenos! I knew the buns would have poppy seeds, but I wanted to try it out instead of requesting a wheat bun first. I had poppy seeds EVERYWHERE when i was done. They were all over the table, my lap, my shirt, my hair and probably even my teeth, but it was still wonderful. Lets just hope I don't have a drug test anytime soon! read more

What a disappointment. I used to love this place as a kid, fresh homemade burgers and fries, amazing sandwiches, always really really good. I don't know if they sold to someone else or just lowered their standards but this was a huge disappointment. Frozen fries and onion rings, cold buns, slathered in mayonnaise and just really really greasy and gross. And a sandwich, fries, and a drink was $14.65!!!! Not bad. I would go again but I'm not in any hurry to. Came here on Friday after work for burgers. Looks and feels like a burger joint. It's pretty clean though and doesn't smell like grease. I had the blue cheese with everything and my husband had the mushroom Swiss, sans everything; we split fries and onion rings. My burger was juicy, the bun was warm and it had plenty of fixin's. It really was a good burger for $5. My husband said he like his too. The fries were OK. Some were soggy, but some were fine. I picked out the good ones. I didn't really care for the onion rings. There was nothing special about the batter or flavor. They were crispy though. It was $27 for two burgers, two drinks, onion rings and fries. I guess that's not bad. You could go fast food and it would be about half that but Miller's taste much, much better than fast food. Stopped in after hearing great things from the locals - the food lived up to the hype! I had the mushroom burger and it was delicious and too big for me to finish. My husband had the blue cheese burger and it was delicious too. Would have been 5 stars, but they forgot to add bacon to his burger and the onion rings tasted a little like they had been frozen. On the other hand, the sweet potato fries were amazing and it was a great experience over all. Nice casual atmosphere and the restaurant was very clean for as busy as it was. I always eat a jalapeño burger w/ guac and when I am on the wild side have a guac burger w/ jalapeños . Burger are tasty but not for the prices. I ordered a burger for dine in and sat down. When I noticed they past up my number I check and my burger was piled in the Togo orders. Not sure how they messed that up. No apologies from them. Sweet potato fries are good. They are super thin for sweet potato fries if that's your thing. I though they were a little too thin. We were wanting to find somewhere for a burger that was not part of a big chain and thought we would try here. The feel inside is that of a small local place with the various table styles and the decor. The staff was nice and efficient but I would not say they go out of their way to be friendly. As for the food, we didn't feel that it was anything special that you would usually expect from a place that's been family owned and operated for so long. Meat came out a freezer, as did our fries and onion rings and you could simply tell by the taste. While it was an easy place to take our 1 year old for a quick bite, I do not feel we will be regulars here. read more
