A great casual lunch spot up in Nags Head! Our party of 6 was seated right away. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor deck is on the water which was nice. Our server was prompt & friendly. The food was reasonably priced. The Bramble cocktail was sooooo good. The salads and fries were delicious, as were the Maine lobster rolls and Po Boy! "Popular seafood restaurant with great view of Roanoke Sound" I've come here a few times when visiting Nags Head. It's always HOPPING at dinner time-- even when arriving by 5:30pm, we sometimes are told there's a 40 minute or longer wait until a table will open up, and they don't take reservations. But it's a good mix of quality and price, as well as a stellar view, so it's worth the wait. This most recent time (a Tuesday evening), while waiting for a table, we went out to the outdoor backyard where live music was playing and drinks were being served. Some tables with umbrellas are set up there. I walked up to the bar on the top floor and got some steamed oysters for us to snack on while we waited for formal seating. The bar area is pretty nice with an epic view of the sound and giant windows-- wouldn't be a bad place to just sit for dinner if someone wanted. The oysters came with a side of melted butter and were good -- not chewy. While we were told it'd be 45 minutes, we got a table in under 30, which was great. The table also had a view of the sound, which was awesome. I ordered a daily special-- the Sound Platter or somesuch name with a giant piece of grilled fish, 6 grilled shrimps, fried clams, the daily starch (mashed red potatoes), and a vegetable (the daily was a squash mix so I opted for broccoli salad). Others at our table ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer-- that came out quickly. My son said they were "about CookOut (ie, fast-food) quality", but it still satisfied their cheese craving. The main dishes took around 30 minutes or so to come out. My fish was excellent-- grilled and seasoned perfectly. Exactly what I wanted. The shrimp was pretty good-- definitely not the best shrimp I've had but good quality nonetheless. And the fried clams were tasty. I really liked the mashed red potatoes-- good flavor but not over-buttered or over-salted. The broccoli salad unexpectedly had bacon in it, which was problematic since I don't eat pork. I confess I didn't think to ask, so maybe that's slightly on me, but it does seem like something that should have come up. I had almost ordered the swordfish too, but someone noticed it also had pork in it (!), so that's why I went with the platter instead. So, long-story-short, if you don't eat pork, please confirm with the server directly that none of your items have pork and don't assume anything. Service was friendly-- multiple people checked on us, kept our drinks filled, etc. My platter was around $32 before tax and tip. More expensive than say Red Lobster, but I'd argue also better quality and of course an epic setting. One person in our party commented that it was unusual there were no "free" table items, like bread or hush puppies, but so be it -- not that big a deal to just order those if desired. Overall, given the combination of quality and value, I'd come back here, and given how busy it always seems to be, I think my opinion is pretty well shared by others! read more

Drove all the way from Suffolk, VA to eat here for my birthday dinner after having eaten here 3 years prior. I remembered it was the best fried shrimp I'd ever had, and it didn't disappoint. Our server (Morgan) was excellent and took very good care of us. The sun setting over the sound made the experience even better. read more

Our experience wasn't great. We went for lunch around 1pm, wasn't very busy. Service was okay but a little slow. The appetizer we ordered was cheese curds which were good. I ordered a chicken cheese steak which was very dry. The wife had a basic cheeseburger and it was just okay. My son ordered their hot and spicy fish basket which was mahi. It was not good at all. His girlfriend had the lobster roll. Not good either. The restaurant wasn't very clean and the overall experience was very underwhelming. read more

We started with some Hush puppies and they were delicious! I had the sunset flounder which was a lightly breaded piece of flounder with some crab meat on top and hollandaise sauce. Picture doesn't do it Justice, it was AMAZING . Cooked perfectly! I also had a side of broccoli salad which was very yummy! CHUNKs of crab, creamy and full of flavor. I could have ate 2 bowls of that it was so good. On to the Oysters. I got one that was a little funky but other than that, fresh & delicious!!! Now that Lobster Roll.... Just as good as in New England. Cooked perfectly, just enough Mayo to compliment it. Bun toasted to perfection. I just can't say enough good things about this place. I cannot recommend this place. The food is subpar for the price. Our bill was $158 including tip for three people. For those prices, I'd expect they'd employ a trained chef to prepare their dishes, but it's painfully obvious they employ amateur cooks. My party ordered the Flounder, scallops, Gorgonzola ribeye, and the ribeye with the fried onions garnish. Sides were fries, some sort of garbage looking (and tasting) broccoli salad, and cold mediocre mashed potatoes. The ribeye steaks were the absolute only decent parts of our meal and they were surprisingly cooked as we ordered them; not fantastic tasting, but good. The sides were all awful, even the French fries were trash. The flounder and the fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil that desperately needs to be changed. Our waitress was actually attentive and helpful so big props on that. The scallops were extremely fishy smelling and tasting; I actually left the table to go to the restroom and came back and could smell the fishy scallops from 6 feet from the t The view is AMAZING! I'd suggest this place only if you are coming here for a drink at the bar or dessert or something. Don't eat here expecting a really good chef prepared meal. We always go to millers on our yearly family OBX trip. The food was the best I've had here. I got the special which was blackened red drum with grilled shrimp. It was delicious, the fish was cooked perfectly and blackening seasoning was good, I will say the seasoning was heavy and could be a bit too salty at times but overall still very good. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their meals. Our waiter was excellent, he was very attentive and fast, which was impressive because the restaurant didn't have an empty table. They have a nice outdoor pier and seating that you can enjoy either while waiting or to enjoy your meal. Overall it was a great experience and we will continue to return. read more

Wow! First off our waitress Carly was FANTASTIC!! Friendly, helpful and help make our meal spectacular. That said, food was awesome! Had the Trawler dinner and wife had the scallops with trio cheese. Both dinners were cooked to perfection. EVEN the mashed potatoes were off the hook. Lastly, you get an incredible sunset view. My wife and I stopped by on a week night and, although it was crowded, we were able to be seated quickly. Our server did an excellent job - she was pleasant and cheerful, and checked on us often. The dinner menu features a wide variety of starters, seafood entrees, land lover entrees and sandwiches. For starters, we ordered Fried Green Tomatoes (topped with roasted red peppers, spinach, and bacon sauté then finished with goat cheese and a roasted poblano ranch for dipping) and a Basket of Miller's Famous Hushpuppies - the Hushpuppies were the BEST we have ever had... FRESH, MOIST, WARM & PACKED WITH RICH FLAVOR...they are that GOOD! For our entrees we ordered seafood, and both of our meals were delicious and filling! I recommend checking out what the Fish of the Day is before ordering, as it's the Chef's selection of fresh, never frozen fish and is served with a starch and fresh vegetables. Back to Miller's again on our first evening - the place was much busier than when we were here last year during off season, almost all the sections - outdoor deck, dining rooms, upstairs covered bar with open windows - were full, so we opted to sit at one of the high tables at the downstairs bar. Had fried oysters and salad with grilled shrimps - not outstanding but decent food. Tried the pecan pie again but there was no improvement so definitely need to try something different next time as they do have a pretty long list of desserts more than any other restaurant. read more

The raw oysters both times were excellent & at a good price. I had tuna taco's for lunch one day & they were delish & full of fish! Our dinner one night was very enjoyable & I had the mixed seafood "Trawler" which was broiled. The side dishes with it were nothing much but the seafood was the star of the show. Great dinner spot at nags head... waiting on a table is made better by hanging out back by the water and enjoying the sunset. Foods is always fresh and well seasoned and you just can't go wrong with seafood on is oily. The flounder with lump crab and hollandaise sauce is one of my favorites and their fried green tomatoes is also a solid choice. We ate dinner at Millers on a recent Wednesday and were able to get a table for two in the bar area to the left of the hostess area pretty quickly (but no view). But it was a tremendously hot day, (near 100 degrees) and the inside was nearly as suffocating as the outside. We did have very good service, but the food didn't blow me away. Average fried seafood, and the storied hush puppies were pretty bland. They did have a good selection of draft beers and offer a flight of four of your choice. All in all, there are better OBX places for dinner if a memorable experience is desired. read more

Came to grab a drink here very last minute 2 weeks ago and still thinking about it! The view was stunning, drinks were amazing (get the watermelon mule) , we sat at the rooftop bar and had the best bartender!!! We didn't catch her name, but she was a blonde with the bubbliest personality, she was very helpful with the menu, and even taught us how to play the little game they have for you while you hangout. Nice spot on the water to grab a bite! Can be a bit pricey, but that's somewhat the nature of seafood restaurants. We sat in the upstairs seating area, which was the perfect relaxing spot. We were seated next to the open window overlooking the water and got to watch some windsurfers and kiteboarding. Just be warned the sun can get a bit hot if you're sitting in an unshaded spot by the window. We ordered the lobster roll, tuna nachos, and fish tacos. They were all somewhat small portions, but all delicious. The flavor and seasoning in the lobster roll was amazing; it was one of the better lobster rolls I've had. Not too bland in the way some lobster rolls can be, but a good amount of refreshing flavor. The tuna nachos were also delicious, but somewhat smaller portions. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items. Our daughter had mentioned we should try the She Crab Soup. It was delicious! The soup had a lot of crabmeat and had a nice sweet flavor.
