We were seated quickly and served coffee and water. The waitress took our order of the Denver omelette and French toast breakfast. As we sat waiting I finished my coffee and we waited. A gentleman was seated across from his order was taken. He was served immediately. We waited the waitress servicing the gentleman even refilled his coffee. After about 20 minutes our food comes. The French toast is cold as well as everything else we ordered. Mind you we've been also waiting for a coffee refill . I tell our waitress Maricela that the food is cold and we've been waiting a long time. Also, we've been waiting for a coffee refill. I tell her we haven't seen her since our order was taken and others that came in after us were taken care of by the other waitress. She responds that our food just came out and it's hot. I touch the French toast and pick one up and say it's cold. I also say all the food is cold and has a glazed look like it's been sitting awhile. She takes my plate and says she rush a new order. We can overhear her saying to the cook that I said the food is cold. She brings the food back and it's still cold. I tell her it's cold and she says was just made. I pick up the French toast and say it's cold. Now I know how French toast is cooked and how it's hot through from the steam. This french toast was apparently placed back on the grill not made over. She takes it back and tells the cook that I complained that the food was cold. We could hear his derogatory remark. We could hear because we were on the other side of the partition. They could also be heard laughing. I've been here before and received excellent service. It's a shame that at this establishment the customer is wrong. When food is taken back to the cook the customer shouldn't be mentioned to the cook. The waitress should tell the cook the food is cold. The waitress job is to serve the food right when it's ready. The cooks job is to make the food and alert that it's ready bottom line. The chatting and laughing while customers are waiting is bad bad bad customer service. We paid and I talked to the owner who informed me that I was wrong and that he was back there and a new order of French toast was made. He backs up his employee. He talked over me and I had to ask him to let me speak . It was useless and he stated he didn't care if this service was in YELP. read more

The food is ok to above-average, but the service is pretty bad. Not bad as in, rude, but bad as in, nonexistent much of the time. I would imagine if you went here during off hours it wouldn't be a problem, but God help you if you decide to come here when there are more than several parties. They usually only have 1 or 2 waiter/waitresses to take care of the entire restaurant, and it's definitely not enough. So don't come here if you're in a rush of any kind. I come here quite a bit with family and always leave disappointed. The owner/manager seems really nice but the service here varies a lot and the food not good. It's just a quaint little restaurant that's usually filled with seniors. Prices are pretty good too for the amount of food you get. Their "country potatoes" have no flavor. The corned beef hash looks and tastes like dog food. Their chili will give you heartburn & tastes like it came from a can. I keep trying new things hoping I'll find something decent but no luck. read more

The food is ihop prices without the great flavor. Flavorless hospital food is what you get for the price. Ordered the ham and cheese omelette pretty basic with pancakes and hash browns. Syrup had no flavor same as pancakes. Eggs were basic, ham was over cooked and salty only good thing on my plate was the hash browns which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had been anticipating this meal for a while now. I ordered the French Toast breakfast with eggs scrambled with cheese & bacon. I was impressed with the French Toast for sure....nice and soft and buttery (a little too much butter for me) but still top three French Toast I have had so far in LA. I order medium rare steak (got over well done and dry steak) and eggs (over cooked) my sourdough toast was extremely hard and cold. My daughter couldn't eat the eggs with cheese (over cooked and cheese quality was poor) Salsa is not fresh (can salsa) The fried zucchini was pretty good, waitress was helpful and kind. The desserts looked good but after the breakfast fiasco we were afraid of trying them. This place seems like it's trapped in the past with a very rustic diner vibe filled with delicious food and very hospitable service. Our server was so sweet and attentive. The pricing is fair because the portions are fairly large, and oh so yummy. I had the California omelet with a wheel pancake on the side and couldn't finish the whole thing. I hadn't been to Millie's in a couple of years. Last night I met up with a friend for dinner and we were both disappointed. The bottomless soup is no longer available. The word "bottomless" is blacked with marker on the menu. Our server advised they no longer offer the bottomless soup. I went ahead and ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup. It was watered down, no flavor, very little, if any, cheese. My friend ordered a beef plate and she also said it had no flavor. The staff working was not the usual ladies I remember. We do not recommend this restaurant. Today was a total turnoff. Been here a few times and it has been ok. However today is our last time. The orders took an extremely long time to get with other patrons who came in well after us getting served first. When we finally got the food it was cold and main dishes overcooked, dried out almost to the point of being inedible. Clearly food had been just sitting. We did complain about the coldness but after waiting so long, we didn't have time to have the orders remade so we asked for extra Gravy. We needed more since the mashed potatoes had just a small dollop on them and we needed more gravy to help moisten a dried out, overcooked chicken. Even with the Gravy it still gave our jaws a workout to eat and choke down. We got the bill and went to pay. What is appalling is the cashier/manager decided on his own to add a Gravy charge that was not on the original bill!! Instead of having to remake our meals or discounting the price for a bad meal, he ADDED a charge!!! Unbelievable! Your cheapness lost some customers. Not a way to run a restaurant. I have been going to Mille's restaurant for well over 25 years . The service has faltered in recent times. Limited staff makes the wait for service and food very long. My server Adela took so long to take my order that she got it all wrong. When I complained she then tried to cover herself up by telling the manager a story of lies as if I wanted a free meal. The manager Armando was not customer friendly and did not act accordingly . In fact he was arrogant and condescending when I told him about the server's error . I will not eat there ever again, there are a lot more restaurants in Covina that could use the business . If you do go make sure the server reads your order back to you, otherwise you'll be stuck with a disgusting meal and a sour bill of sale. read more

This was my first time eating here and I was actually excited to try a new place. When I walked in and was sat down the ambience reminded me of a Las Vegas Diner/Cafe for some reason. The music they were playing was great oldies 50's-60's era. We were seated promptly and waited on quickly. Now as for the food.... eh it was ok. I ordered the french toast plate. The french toast was kinda dry and reminded me of freezer french toast that was popped into the microwave then served. My mom loved her corn beef hash so I guess that was ok. I also ordered a take out order for my husband of the french toast plate and brought it home. He immediately spit it out and I can see why. I went and inspected his food.... the sausage was the consistency of oatmeal when bit into.... i asked for sunny side up eggs but his so called sunny side up eggs were cooked throughly.. the yoke was even cooked..... his french toast again was dry and lacking in flavor. Armando, the owner as I was told, was extremely defensive and combative, raising his voice and trying to shut us down. He refused to accept that my food and the food of my guest was not properly heated. In my opinion, our orders must have been sitting under the hot lamp. He kept interrupting us and refused to be polite and deal with us as a mature adult, let alone with the attitude of a so-called Christian, posting scripture all over the menu and website, yet acting as he did. I am a born again Christian, and I know his attitude was not of a humble servant. I am not saying we are perfect, but you do not treat people in that way. I will never eat there again and will encourage others not to go there, due to my dealings with this man, Armando. This place is poorly run and lacks the needed staff. The Cinnamon Roll still is a must to start the breakfast. I miss the Glendora location and haven't had the Roll since then. Well, on our way to IKEA, we decided to have the better Roll (here) along with breakfast. Everyone like the change in plans. The service was prompt and very warm. The food is as expected. I didn't see the exact breakfast combo I was craving, so I asked her if I could get two eggs, hashbrowns, 2 strips of bacon, and toast. She replied, "Anything you want! We make it easy!" I also really enjoyed the oldies from the '50s and '60s since I can't hear them on the radio anymore. That's how I know I'm in a legit diner. I also loved that they are the only diner in the area that has orange marmalade. That's also legit. There is a wait on weekends. It was only 15 minutes which wasn't too bad. Came here for the first time with my husband and two kids. Wasn't our first choice but I hop and Denny's was way to packed for a Sunday but I am so glad we came to Millies. The employees were nice, and our server Trevor was amazing. The whole place was very homey and welcoming like a restaurant should be. Food was great as well. Never been here before, we arrived at a busy time for breakfast. We were given 20 minute wait time. We stood outside in the cold while raining. The lobby is too small, cannot fit big parties. We were seated in a corner booth under the vent and cold air was hitting us the whole time. The server was very prompt and took our order fast. Susan is very sweet, nice and polite. She always came by to ensure we were ok. I ordered chicken and waffles, I must say it was better than other places. My family enjoyed their food and finished the meal. While waiting we were given tic tac toe to play with and we had fun. The music was to my taste, they played oldies. The food wait time was long, but worth the wait.
