I have lived in Azusa my whole life and finally decided to try this place after my daughter's promotion, only thing is we tried twice to go in, but doors were locked so we got sad and were walking away, but someone through the window said we can come eat... so happy they opened the doors for us as the food was delicious! Have a great menu selection as well to choose from. So many yummy options for brunch. Everything was great! Cute place and once we were leaving, started to get packed. We will be back again!

Don't let the outside fool you, this place was so much better than I expected. The parking lot is small and the restaurant wasn't busy. I didn't have high hopes but, I'm glad I was wrong! The menu is quite large but, I decided to order the Chile Verde plate which came with beans, breakfast potatoes, and flour tortillas. The flavor on the Chili was really good and the pork was tender. The beans were refried and fresh, the potatoes were crispy and I believe the flour tortillas were homemade. My dad ordered the Pancakes with eggs and bacon. He enjoyed his meal and he really liked the coffee. The only complaints are when I walked in, there was a potent smell of cleaning solution. It settled once we sat down and were inside a while. And there is 3.5% up charge for using your credit cards. At least we know they're cleaning but, perhaps air it out afterwards.

Will be back FOR SURE! Stopped into Flo's Diner in Azusa and ordered the menudo -- hands down some of the best I've ever had. The broth was rich and deep, like it had been simmering for generations. Not watery, not bland, just packed with flavor. The place was empty except for me, and Monica took care of me like family. Super sweet, super personal service. If you're anywhere near here, do yourself a favor and get your butt down to Flo's. Great food, amazing service, and a small business that deserves support

The "hoagie" cheese steak sandwich with plate piled high with fries.

Flo's introduced us to the astonishingly delicious tradition of weekend menudo. It's soul nourishing on a whole different level. Combined with the opportunity to eat somewhere local and authentic, Flo's is a "can't miss" if you find yourself in the Azusa area, tired of chains and empty branding, and need a home-cooked breakfast. Apparently menudo is divisive. It's strongly flavored and memorable--if not entirely familiar to the broader American palette. But if you've ever had a craving for your grandmothers chicken noodle soup, or the perfect New England clam chowder on a chilly Boston day... add menudo at Flo's to the list of essential comfort experiences. Piping hot tortillas grace the sides of the bowl, accompanied by fixins of verdura (onion and cilantro), oregano, red pepper flakes, and fresh lime wedges to squeeze and sprinkle to your hearts desire. Hearty with hominy, tripe, and a broth so restorative, we find ourselves ordering it to go on sick days, or quietly pulling up a stool at the "menudo counter" before facing the stress of life these days. Flo's is a neighborly escape. As regulars enter, they are chided by the folksy staff about not bringing their spouse for the visit, or they receive a hushed advisement to order their bowl fast if the kitchen looks like they may run out for the day. (It happens. Go early.) And it's not just the menudo that's good here. The chile verde is bold, the eggs always come the way you ordered, and the luncheonette-style sandwich menu doesn't seem to have a weak link. The "hoagie" cheese steak sandwich I had this morning is a testament to their ability to execute every basic of breakfast and lunch splendidly. Now about the "Coffee Shop" part. I wager that the most important person in any place that dares to say they "specialize in breakfast" (as Flo's does) is the kind soul carrying the coffee carafe from table to table. "Mas cafe?" "More coffee?" "I'll be right back for your mug!" "Is he driving, he's had 3 already!" Our mugs are never less than half full unless the place is exceptionally busy. It's uncomplicated, unfussy diner coffee, served fresh, and with a side of something lacking more and more in the rest of the restaurant landscape these days: care. (They have some French vanilla creamers if you want to be fancy.) No, this is not the place to come to if you prize shiny, new, and trendy above all else. Like the best places: there's community here. It's been around a while; so please treat it respectfully, as if your grandmother made the menudo. (Someone's likely did.) The staff here understand the power of their hospitality, and you might too if you chance a visit.

We are back again! I had the breakfast burrito. It was so good and piping hot. They are always ready with the decaf for me. My hubby had the huevos en salsa verde. He had beans, o Brian taters and corn tortillas with that. My mother in law had pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. She has dementia. They always speak kindly to her in Spanish and help her decide what to eat. Today she had pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. They come around her and make sure she is well taken care of. It's filling up with some more hungry happy people. We see a lot of the same faces each week.

Monica at Flo's is the best hostess in Azusa. The MENUDO IS THE BEST IN TOWN. If your a Menudo Lover, you won't be disappointed. It starts with the juice. One taste & you'll be smiling. Add your own fixings to your personal taste...

    Country fried steak breakfast

First time here tried the country fried steak breakfast. Eggs were cooked exactly how I wanted them, country fried steak had good flavor and a nice crunch to it. Waitress recommended the potatoes o Brian which unfortunately even though they looked cooked they weren't fully. Green sauce tasted a little funky too. Service was great they were attentive and friendly. I believe they charged my card an extra dollar to be ran as credit. My initial receipt said $17.28 then when she brought it back with my card it was $18.28. Not a huge deal but I'd like to at least be given notice that there was an extra charge. Restaurant was nice and clean with a good atmosphere. Even though I live locally I don't think I'll be back.

This kind of Mexican restaurant is right up my alley. Great food, stiff drinks, excellent service, and lively atmosphere. Oh, and plenty of chips and salsa!! I had the two tacos combination platter (one beef, one chicken) w/ a skinny jalapeño margarita. Along w/ guacamole to accompany the chips and salsa for the table - this meal was incredible. I could've walked out and gotten hit by a bus and would've been happy that this was my last meal. We were seated upstairs and it was a little more intimate and cozy w/ low ceilings (look out tall people!). Service was so on point, we never had to rubberneck once, the servers were always present without being overbearing. Not sure if there is dedicated parking for the restaurant, but there was plenty of street parking during Sunday afternoon. I think I found my new favorite Mexican spot in the Covina/Azusa area!!

The restaurant has great decor all over the restaurant and a lively atmosphere. The staff that helped us were all attentive and personable. We were given chips and salsa shortly after seating. I love the locations that offer fresh crispy chips. I ended up ordering one of Desebrada Shredded Beef Burrito (wet) and they told me I could do the half red and green sauce. I also ordered one of the Chicken Dorado (crunchy taco). My wife ordered a taco combo plate and Jalapeño Vodkarita. The portions were generous and abundant. My burrito was hefty! I enjoyed every bite of that wet burrito. Saucy and full of deliciousness. The affordable pricing is great because of the amount of food. The taco was fine, but I'd got with a burrito again since you can take the rest home. My wife enjoyed her food and drink. We had never been here in all these years. Welcome Home We…read moreescaped the storm in Hawai'i and after a fun filled Spring Break week at Disneyland, my son's one and only request was to eat at Casa Moreno!! Thankfully we were able to detour from Anaheim on our way to LAX. Special shout out to the dedicated staff who graciously accommodated us and allowed us to sneak in a bit early in order to fulfill our cravings and still make our flight on time. I grew up going to Casa Moreno since the original spot in 1995, you can say it's home for me. My kids have therefore grown up visiting it every chance we get when visiting our family in the area. We generally all share and pass our plates around in true family style because we can never decide which all-star traditional plates to order. This time, the kid's quesadilla, 3 Amigos, Steak Fajitas, Chicken Flautas and Machaca made the cut. The look on my son's face when the sizzling platter was headed his way was just as magical as seeing him hug Chip and Dale. Every single bite warmed our hearts and filled our homemade food starved bodies. Casa Moreno is undeniably the greatest Mexican food that Los Angeles has had to offer for over 30 years. Their traditions span throughout three generations and the second you crunch those warm chips covered in their "Chilanga" salsa, you'll be hooked. The best part is that my local family is always there and pleased to come sit with us. We are all unfortunately spread apart across the country but Casa Moreno will always be the place that brings us together. Our shared experiences and memories there always make it HOME. Thank you Casa Moreno for all the sacrifices and hard work to stay around this long, it is very much appreciated by this LA girl living in Hawai'i.

Until last week, I came and ordered a hard shell taco plate and there was too much grease in the bottom and the beans had a ton of melted cheese and were greasy. I forgave them and again placed an order for a chile verde burrito yesterday. I couldn't believe it. The meat seemed old and overcooked. But the worst of it was I found about six pieces of fat inside the burrito. I had to open it to eat it, even I was disgusted. The rice was dry and the beans left something to be desired. I don't know what happened to this place. They were my go-to place even though their prices have increased from around $3.50 to $13.50 for burritos. I always highly recommended them, but the quality of the food has taken an extreme down turn and whomever is managing this place is cutting corners, not trimming the meat, using fat for volume, not making the food fresh and doesn't care. The increased food costs that we are all experiencing is no excuse for disgusting food. They need to raise their costs if necessary and not serve disgusting food. The management needs to be replaced and they need to go back to the values they once followed if fresh, clean, lean good tasting food. I won't be coming back here despite my many years of patronage.

Most of the employees here are super nice and friendly. My sandwich or salad is always bursting at the seams. There is an employee named Raquel, however, makes my experience uncomfortable every single time. I made a comment in 2021 asking about why a certain cheese costs so much at subway and she was rude about it so I asked if we could just make the sandwiches without any additional conversation. That's where it ended for me. I was ready to move on until she kept throwing words at me saying that customers think they are above employees. In that moment it was clear that she was having a bad day so I apologized for any part my words had to make her react so viscerally. Fast forward to present day, whenever she seems me she hands me off to someone else. One time I had to wait for someone to finish their break in order to have service because she just didn't want to serve. Yesterday, 09/10/2024 I went in to pick up a digital order my husband placed and was surprised she acknowledged me when she heard the door open. I though "woah, we are turning a corner" but as soon as she saw it was me she walked away and said to her coworker "nope, I'm not serving her. You go. Nope. Nope. Nope" and she nodded her head three times. Her coworker, Selene, was super nice and even gave me the managers name so I'll be calling for sure. I might have to find another subway after this because this chick is trying to humiliate me for her own sense of self worth and I'm not going to play into it.
