Milos Taverna is the best Greek restaurant in the city. I've previously said this about their sister restaurant, Milos Meze, and to be honest, the food here is just as amazing; but Milos Taverna has a nicer ambiance. It's spacious, especially for a spot in the Marina. There's plenty of room between tables so you can actually hear your guests comfortably. The chairs are cozy, and the general vibe is fantastic. Tonight I came in with my mom and sister because I knew it'd be a hit, but I'll definitely be back for date nights and nights out with friends. The service really matches the great vibe, too; the staff was fast and incredibly attentive, constantly keeping our table clear of empty plates and making sure our water glasses stayed full all night. Pro-tip: Don't fill up on the delicious pita bread, and ask for extra tzatziki. The tzatziki is made in-house, super fresh, and lightly drizzled with authentic Greek kalamata olive oil. We started by sharing the saganaki (flaming cheese) and dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), and both appetizers were best-in-class. The saganaki comes with the spectacle of a mini fire show. It's so exciting to watch the staff walk out with swagger, pour the ouzo, and light it up. The cheese was crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside; perfect with the pita bread and a dab of tzatziki. This is a must-order if it's your first time here. The dolmades were exactly as they should be: very large, made with fresh leaves, and neither too vinegary nor soggy. They come in a set of three per serving. For the next course, we chose the horiatiki salad, which featured a beautiful mix of fresh tomatoes (cherry, heirloom, etc.), bell peppers, and a generous block of feta. It was incredibly crisp and bright, serving as a perfect, refreshing palate cleanser to prep us for the heavy main course. For our entrée, we ordered the lamb shank with orzo and a side of potatoes. The lamb was so well prepared it literally fell off the bone. The meat melted in my mouth, and combining a bite of that with a forkful of orzo rounded out the meal perfectly. To bookend the night, we had baklava and revani. The baklava was super flaky, drizzled with honey, and exceptional. The revani was something entirely new to me. I was so full I could only muster one bite, but that decadent slice of creamy citrus was the best final bite I could've taken. By the end of the night, we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. We all brought an appetite, but sharing this feast between the three of us still wasn't enough to finish it all. Blue walls met blue sky through well-lit front windows, creating an airy, inviting space. The entry has a canopy-like feeling, and the fireplace is a standout--warm, elegant, and grounding. Inside, the details elevate everything: an in-house bakery (clearly fresh, both in taste and appearance), marble white tables, gold-trim plating--clean, spacious, and refined without feeling rigid. It felt like a true smorgasbord of flavor and experience--gratification as color, as palette, as something to savor. The best cocktails I've ever had were here and there were many varieties, which made me very happy, their taste and proportions are super, I will definitely recommend everyone to try it, I'm sure no one will regret it, next time I stop by I will try their food, from what I can see it all looked very tasty and fancy. First thing I noticed as I entered was a dirty entrance, and steps. No hostess to greet us. I wanted to leave immediately, but was invited by a friend so I couldn't back out. Appetizers took one and a half hours to come out. Not once being approached by servers to ask how we were doing. After 2 hours we finally got our mains--We had chicken souvlaki and pasticio, and it wasn't worth the wait or the price. For two mains, an appetizer and a side of fries total was $200. And bonus! We'd walked past this spot so many times and finally chose it for our engagement dinner. It turned out to be the perfect choice. We booked on short notice, and the team was incredibly accommodating from the start. Our guests arrived at different times, I had our dog with me, and none of it was an issue. They set us up in a comfortable private room, put the World Cup on the TV for us, and let us enjoy the evening at our own pace without ever feeling rushed. The food was a highlight. The lamb was cooked perfectly, the spreads and sauces (especially the tzatziki) were delicious, and the dessert sampler was a great way to end the meal. Everyone in our group left talking about how good everything was. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The staff genuinely cared about making our celebration memorable. I was in the area and noticed they were having their Grand Opening so decided to drop in. I've been to their other location on Steiner St. before and have always enjoyed the food there. Milos Taverna was no different. This location is much bigger, and the interior and ambiance is incredible. You can tell the owner put a lot of effort into creating this space. They also have a full bar here which I don't believe Milos Meze had. I had the Beef Souvlaki this time which was really tender. I treated a friend to dinner at your restaurant which was new for both of us. We were delighted with this choice, since the food was delicious and very well presented. Our waiters helped with our desire to share our main courses. My friend chose Prawns grilled on a skewer and I chose the lamb and our meals came with our shared main courses as we desired. We also each chose a side salade dish. The ambience of MILOS was perfect. There are areas of tables for 2 to 4 people and a long table in the middle which would be perfect for a large group. There is also a very attractive bar area for both dining and drinking. Our waiters Cornelius and Luca were very pleasant and professional. Finally...a place to get traditional Greek moussaka! It was delicious but I wish it was a bigger serving for the price. The Gemista (stuffed paprika) was a very generous portion. Complimentary pita bread with a tasty saucy hummus was fantastic, and a nice surprise when so many other restaurants these days no longer offer complimentary bread. The dessert selection was heavenly, and I've been craving more of it ever since I tasted it! My favorite was the one with the custard filling and the cookie. Although we weren't drinking, they have a very large bar inside and offer a wide selection of cocktails. This is a great place for cocktails and appetizers, but I will definitely come back for the moussaka and the desserts! My only suggestion is that they offer a decaf coffee for those of us who can't handle caffeine in the evenings, but want it with their dessert. read more

We stopped by here for drinks and apps, and we had such a nice time! The space is much bigger than we expected on the inside, so it was easy to get a table. The space is also really nicely decorated, and the back room is very cute with big SF and Greece themed murals. We enjoyed the Greek wine, hummus, zucchini fritters, tzatziki, and endless pita. The staff were also super lovely and helpful. Our waiter brought out four bottles of wine for us to taste when we wanted a recommendation, and they gave us a free dessert! Yesterday I stopped by for takeout and had such a great experience. The food was ready quickly, and when I had to wait a few extra minutes they kindly gave me an appetizer! Very friendly staff! My boyfriend is Greek and we loved the food so much that we actually got takeout tonight too (two days in a row!). The food totally blew our expectations away. Our favorite items so far have been the chicken souvlaki, which was perfectly cooked, and the spanakopita. We will most definitely be coming back here often. Highly recommend! Attentive service, nice ambiance and great food. I had the pleasure of dining at Milos Taverna on their 6th day of service. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. It would be a great place for a celebration. We were a party of three and ordered mainly mezethes (Greek small plates) and one main (Kirios piato). The chef uses high quality ingredients from Greece. The sheep's milk Greek feta with the watermelon was absolutely amazing. It brought me back to my childhood and many subsequent springs and summers in Greece. Other standouts were the the lamb riblets, octopus (it was delicious but a little chewy, however, the chef was requesting feedback about it so it'll only improve), gigantes, rice pudding, and an off menu (comped by the chef!) dessert, touloumbes. They had everything on the menu except for their pastitsio which will be available soon (I'm sure it won't compare to my mother's but I still want to try it) ;) I can't wait to go back with more friends. Me and my neighbor went out for a walk last night and ended up on Union Street. I am so glad we did because we decided to try this place. We sat outside which was perfect because the weather was so beautiful. Our waiter was so wonderful and very friendly and funny. The host inside was wonderful. Love her.
