I'd highly recommend both things I got (Reuben sandwich and mac salad) The reuben sandwich had a perfect amount of meat, perfect taste to it and had just the right of fat (cheese) as well as acidity (sauerkraut!) I would drive from Poway just to get this. Yes, you read that right. The mac salad is a nice add to the meal, the noodles are still very al-dente. The taste is identical to a traditional potato salad except swap the potatoes with al dente mac salad. Owner was super nice and had a lot on his hands but he managed to take 3 or 4 orders in during the time he made my sandwich. And take care of his daughter! I'm definitely coming back. I almost don't want to write this review, I kinda wanna gatekeep it. But nope everyone should have the joy of eating here. Oh yeah, Yelp is asking me to write about ambiance. The Reuben sandwich I ordered looked fairly ordinary but it was excellent. I loved it and literally wolfed it down. The basic turkey and cheese sandwich was fresh and delicious. The Italian sandwich (which included your usual assortment of Italian meats) was great. All of the breads used and ingredients were very fresh. I saw them scooping fresh avocado onto the sandwiches. That is what I like to see. They are not skimpy with anything here. These sandwiches are not life-changing but they are very well-made and delicious. The generosity with their ingredients is appreciated. Well worth a visit.

This my friends, is triple cream so it's fantastic. -The fries are also fantastic and the chocolate chip cookies are fire. I'm not even a sweets person but I inhaled it when I tried it. It was delish. -Italian chopped salad- so good and really light but somehow filling at the same time. In the best way possible. I get it all the time. They have a huge wine selection both at the bar and in their fridge section which you can browse while you're in line. They have a wine club as well! I always love a more local mom n pop type place in general vs chains and this place is just a vibe no matter what time of day you go. The word is definitely out though so it can get busy so cozy up at the bar for a cold one while you wait if you run thirsty like me, ha! Or they have plenty of outdoor seating if you want a ni ce breeze. The owner is rad, the entire staff is sweet, accommodating and overall they just absolutely nailed it here. Go see what all the hype is about, you'll leave with a full belly and a smile.

Weighing heavily on my conscience is what I now recognize as the most disappointing dining experience I've ever encountered--particularly unfortunate because it took place at one of my favorite establishments. I understand that the restaurant was short-staffed that day and made the decision to shift someone from the floor to the kitchen. However, it seemed that the only thing on the menu was his pride. After being served a sandwich that was both lukewarm and cold--twice, mind you--I repeatedly requested my soup before the main course, a request I made no fewer than seven times. When I finally tried to send my food back in hopes of receiving a temperature appropriate wholesome meal, I was unexpectedly asked to leave. It struck me as excessive to ask our entire party to depart over the issue of receiving poorly prepared sandwiches, served on scorching hot plates that altered the temperature of half the sandwich. Moreover, these sandwiches had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp; they were warm on top yet unappetizingly cold in the middle. Simply delightful. My insistence on the soup before the main course, especially considering that it was already prepared, should have been easily accommodated. After waiting 45 minutes for what should have been a simple meal in a restaurant that was less than one-third full during off-peak hours, we explained to the agitated temporary chef that we were hungry. He refused to entertain our concerns, stating that if we didn't leave, he would call the authorities. This is the moment that lingers in my memory. When a group of friends to go to this once-beloved establishment, we ordered our usual favorites only to find that they had arrived in a manner that deviated significantly from their description and quality standards. The temporary kitchen coverage seemed unable to set aside his pride long enough to acknowledge the shortcomings of our meal. Threatening to involve the authorities when we simply wished to enjoy our meal and offered to settle the bill was beyond excessive. As he the management on duty that day, he left us with no recourse, and we exited empty-handed, burdened by a bitter taste in our mouths and a reluctance to recommend the restaurant again. This unfortunate experience will surely linger in our minds for quite some time. read more

This restaurant's food is either HORRIBLE or pretty good. It depends on the day you go. We have gone there frequently and have seen both. It's almost like on some days the turkey or corned beef is fresh and then they keep it for a long time and it starts to get dry and tasteless and changes color. Somteimes the bread is fresh, other times it's inedible. One time we ordered 2 sandwiches, 2 sodas and 2 cheescakes and paid over $70. That's a little much, don't you think? It's hard to tell what you are going to get in terms of quality. The prices are exorbitantly high. We are from Chicago so we understand what good deli food is like, and we don't expect them to reach the bar of Chicago or New York which we have visited also, but this is very expensive for what you get. If you try to call in for take out, it's almost impossible for them to get the order right. Why is it so hard to include mustard? Why do you get one little tiny package of mustard only, that is if you get it. Why if you order soup with noodles, carrots and NO chicken do you consistently get soup with ONLY chicken, no noodles, no carrots. Why when you order regular soda do you get diet? To be fair, this is happening in a lot of restaurants lately - I think it is just that most of the employees on the market don't have the required cognitive skills. If you order food at the deli here, we are pretty sure you are not getting the full poundage you pay for. We ordered a lb. of turkey and it was much less than a lb. So this is a place of sporadic quality. There is no other deli in San Diego county except DZ Akins that we know of and that isn't much better. It would be a great opportunity if someone opened a really first class deli in San Diego county. But in the meantime this is probably the best you can hope for. read more

Milton's is one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel like you should be wearing a cardigan and muttering about how nobody slices pastrami thin anymore. And yet, you sit, you schmooze, you order, and suddenly life isn't so bad. The star of the whole operation is that giant matzo ball. I'm telling you, this thing isn't a matzo ball, it's a flotation device. If the Titanic had one of these, they'd still be sailing. And if you're smart, you get it mish mosh style. Half kreplach, half matzo ball, all comfort. It's like the United Nations of Jewish soup. You take a spoonful and suddenly you're negotiating peace treaties with your childhood. The pastrami sandwich? Listen. It's not Katz's, it's not Carnegie, but it's respectable. A decent pastrami. A pastrami with a job, a family, responsibilities. It's not trying to be a superstar, it's just trying to get you through the day without complaining. And honestly, that's more than I can say for most people. And let me tell you something, because nobody tells you this. Before you go, before you sit, before you even think about ordering, you check Groupon. You hear me? You check Groupon. They've got deals that make you feel like you're stealing, and at my age, a bargain is better than a blood pressure pill. So go to Milton's. Get the mish mosh. Get the pastrami. Kvetch a little. Smile a little. And remember, a good deli is like a good therapist. It listens, it warms you up, and it sends you home feeling like maybe the world isn't falling apart after all. read more

Delicious sandwiches! Love their brown bag deal. Perfect for lunch - sandwich, chips, cole slaw, cookie and soda. Turkey is fresh sliced breast. Milton's bread is like squaw bread - deliciously sweet and ALWAYS fresh. Love the pickle that comes with it. The cole slaw is creamy without being overly dressed. The cookie ... lately it's been a tuxedo cookie with white chocolate on one side and dark chocolate on the other. I love ending a great meal with something sweet. We try to pick up a brown bag deal 2x a month and park at the beach nearby and enjoy the ocean view and cool salty breeze with our delicious lunch. It does take a while to make, so just call ahead if you're in a hurry or they have a cute patio to relax while you wait. And you have to try the desserts! The napoleons are amazing. The coconut macaroon are mouth watering. Every dessert they make is a treat to eat. Enjoy! PS. I've never eaten in the restaurant. I'm completely in love with the deli and desserts. This place was awful. The set up is weird it looks huge and is tiny. The best part of the meal was the ranch. Not to mention the service is crap. We placed the kids orders so we would get those first they brought it out relatively quick. We asked ranch for them never got it. I got a half a overstuffed sandwich. Seeing how it said overstuffed I assumed it would be big like at DZ Akins. Omg what a joke!!! It was a piece of plain bread like half of a piece of toast bread. With just meat and bread. Really 11 dollars for that!?! What a rip off!! No mayo no fixings nothing. Then when I asked for fixings she got annoyed not to mention again it took for ever. The meat was not that great I've bought better pastrami at Von's and the bread tastes stale. Their pickles taste like they were bought at Costco. The only good thing they had was ranch. I would never come eat here again. Bland and gross. You want a real Jewish deli experience go to DZ Akins or the little place over there in LA Jolla area by that Whole food. Seeing that I am at Milton's ALL THE TIME, I thought it fitting for them to be my first reviewed place. I have probably had every waitress/waitor there at least once, this last time I had Jorge (cutie pa-tootie). I didn't have to ask twice for anything and our order came out perfect and PIPING HOT. My sister and I both ordered reubens and Soup. And as usual it was perfect!!! Corned Beef was moist and not too fatty, the bread was crisp the cheese was melted PERFECTLY and the potato salad side sealed the deal. uh-MAZE-Ing. Jorge was able to reccomend a good wine for her and a GREAT beer for myself. The price was right and we couldn't have been happier. I live in the area and am used to paying ALOT more for ALOT LESS! The value is there and although it is on what some might call "the pricier side", I found it to be a fair cost. I am a lifetime customer and my kids will be too. Just had lunch with a good friend who is new to the area and wanted a good lunch. Where else but Milton's to go for a long lunch with great food. Service was great as we were repeatedly asked if we wanted refills or anything else. We ordered a couple of sandwiches with one of them being the full size Reuben and I ordered a half of the extra lean corned beef. Amazing! The half was all I needed. My buddy took half home and barely got through the first half! No room for desserts which looked amazing!!! Will need to go back soon and try something else in their HUGE menu selection. Strolled in on a Sunday afternoon after a nice long bike ride. There was a bit of a wait but 15 minutes flew by while we admired all the yummy desserts and deli items displayed in the cases. We were greeted promptly and efficiently. My husband ordered the corn beef hash and eggs and I ended up going completely overboard and ordered the Super Reuben. Good choice though! Meat was superior, the bread was grilled perfectly, and cheese melted evenly. This is the best sandwich I've ever had. My husband was pleased with his selection as well. We had a Groupon that was going to expire so we headed out to Miltons. We arrived 5 minutes before closing on a Saturday night and they still seated us with a smile. Zora was our server and she was amazing. We had several questions and she answered them with a smile. She took our order and it was delivered within minutes... very impressive. The food was delicious and we decided to place a to go order. When it arrived there was a mistake and Zora took care of it immediately. In general, I believe that San Diego's delis leave much to be desired. There is no place in the city that could hold its own next to even the most mediocre delis in city's like NY, Boston, Chicago, San Fran, Miami or even LA. Having said that, two of them, Milton's and DZ Akins do stand above the rest. Milton's has good food, big portions and fair prices, but what in my opinion makes it a little better than DZ is that service is always friendly and the place is always clean. I wouldn't take any of my NY friends here, but for what we've got in SD, Milton's is the best out there. read more

We came across this gem after visiting the fairgrounds. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by the hostess with a friendly smile. Although there was a brief waiting period due to the afternoon rush, it was not excessively long. We waited approximately 15 minutes, which passed swiftly as we perused the enticing dessert and deli counter. Once seated, we were impressed by the tasteful decor of the dining room. Milton's NEVER disappoints. When you walk in the door and sweet Kathleen greets you with her big smile, well this is just the beginning! Every seat in the house is great, the service is always tip top and the food...The FOOD!! Mish mash soup, the pastrami, good grief I blame my being a little heavy on Milton's owners Dave & Barry! After reading some reviews on yelp, I was a little reluctant to try Milton's Restaurant because of the prices. After going on their website the menu looked so great I decided to give it a try. My three friends and I went their for lunch and all agreed it was the best meal we have had in San Diego. It was a little pricey but the portions were enormous and the quality of the food served was first rate. This is a great family restaurant! They have a HUGE menu... So hard to decide what to eat! My favorite is their turkey chili. Also they just brought back their Chicago style pizza which apparently the owners of Miltons were the previous owners of the Chicago Pizza Brothers. Its amazing. They have great service... Friendly and caring. Ginger is my favorite! Always makes us feel welcomed! Shes awesome! Definitely try this place out! you wont regret it!! And save room for their delicious treats!!! read more

We were in Del Mar with our family of 10 for 5 day and we ate here all 5 days! If you want a true deli Milton's is your place. Eddie, Freddy & Rafael are amazing hosts and will treat you right. The tuna melts, pickles, pickled tomatoes, BROWNIES, hash, french toast and breakfast burrito are absolutely the best I have had outside of New York. I am so sad that we do not have a Milton's in Dallas, but a girl can dream!!!! Thank you to the entire team for taking care of us! read more

Visiting from Las Vegas and staying in Del Mar. Our family of six came in for breakfast and were warmly greeted, especially from Lynn, our server. She made sure our four kids had extra crayons and split the kids meal for our two little ones. Explained the challah bread for the french toast, which was delicious. Eggs cooked perfectly as ordered. I'm only going to comment on the bakery. It is wonderfully delicious - every item I've ever bought from the bakery is delectable. Particularly, the brownie - the frosting is rich, the brownie is rich, and it will satiate any craving that you might have for sweets. The carrot cake is a winner, and so are their cupcakes. Any time I have a sweet tooth and I'm passing through the neighborhood, I try and stop by and get a few sweets. read more

Wow Tuesday morning at 9:30 and hardly any customers and they can't get the order correct. I waited forever for the food to get here and when Alejandra brought it, the food was overcooked. I knew she was talking smack to the other servers because of the way they looked at me when they came out from the kitchen. I have !480 on my rewards card but don't see myself redeeming the rewards because Milton's went from best to worst. read more

Two of us ordered BLT sandwiches with avocado and side salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and my husband ordered the Mexicali egg scramble with a side of beans, my father-in-law ordered a potato scramble substituting grits for the potatos. The food was ready in 15 minutes. The BLTs were scrumptious , bacon super crispy. The grits* scramble was also delicious. My husband was disappointed with the Mexicali, particularly that it was already lukewarm when it arrived. He wished he'd gotten the scramble which apparently was still hot upon arrival. My daughter was the one who chose T's Cafe for our celebration, excited to share a place she loved with the family. Unfortunately, what should have been a special family meal turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in years. We arrived at 11:37 AM and were quoted a 20 to 30 minute wait. We were not seated until 12:29 PM, nearly an hour later. I understand holidays are busy, but quoting a wait time that is off by almost double sets the tone for a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, the service only deteriorated from there. After being seated, it took 10 minutes to receive water, 20 minutes before our server Leslie took our drink order, approximately 30 minutes before our food order was taken, and 45 minutes after being seated before drinks arrived. Even then, the drinks were delivered separately, about five minutes apart. Our meals arrived roughly an hour after being seated, and once again, the three dishes were delivered separately several minutes apart. Long waits on Father's Day are frustrating, but understandable. What was not understandable was the complete lack of accountability when our order was delivered incorrectly. My daughter specifically requested wheat bread on her sandwich for health reasons and was served sourdough. My son ordered a fried chicken sandwich and instead received a chicken fried steak. When Leslie finally returned, approximately 15 minutes after our meals had been delivered, I politely pointed out the mistakes. Her response was shocking. She dramatically flipped through her handwritten notes and insisted that my daughter had ordered sourdough and that we were mistaken. She acknowledged that my son's order was incorrect but made no effort whatsoever to correct it. Instead, while I was in the middle of asking a question, she simply turned around and walked away. At this point, we had already requested water from two other employees because Leslie had disappeared for extended periods. Throughout most of the meal, our water glasses remained empty. No refills were offered, and no additional beverage service was provided. When we finished eating, Leslie still had not returned. We ultimately had to ask a busser for our check. When she finally brought it, I asked for her name. She ignored me and walked away. I asked again. No response. I asked a third time, louder because it was clear I was being ignored. After paying, I asked two employees if a manager was available. They informed me that Pam had apparently left about 20 minutes earlier without informing anyone and was nowhere to be found. I then asked those employees for the server's name and was told it was Leslie. At that moment, Leslie emerged from the bar area and began raising her voice at me, repeatedly calling me "cruel." Every attempt I made to speak was interrupted by her continuing to raise her voice and repeat the accusation. This occurred in front of other guests at approximately 2:05 PM. Owners, specifically the Paymard family, I strongly encourage you to review your security footage from approximately 2:05 PM on Father's Day. This interaction should be used as a training opportunity because no guest should ever be treated this way. What makes this especially disappointing is that we have dined here at least a dozen times over the years. We intentionally support T's Cafe because it is a family-owned, women-owned business, and we have always appreciated supporting a local establishment with those values. In fact, I still think the biscuits and gravy are excellent, and I enjoyed my patty melt. However, one employee completely ruined what should have been a special Father's Day meal with my kids. My daughter, who had proudly chosen this restaurant to make the day special, left feeling embarrassed and responsible for how the morning had unfolded. That is not a feeling any child should carry home on a holiday. Poor service can be forgiven. Long waits on a holiday can be forgiven. Mistakes happen. Being blamed for the restaurant's mistakes, ignored repeatedly, denied basic service, and then publicly berated by a server is unacceptable. After years of being customers, we will not be returning. I will also be sharing this experience with others because no guest should be treated with this level of disrespect. A restaurant's food may bring people in, but customer service determines whether they come back, and in this case, it guaranteed that we won't.

They have lots of daily baked goods including baguettes, pastries, cake by the slice as well as whole cakes, coffees etc (see full menu in photos) I tried the broccoli cheddar soup for the first time. It comes with a piece of French roll. It was creamy and flavorful. I also got an omelette with spinach, mushroom and Swiss cheese. It comes with either salad or breakfast potatoes as well as a piece of french roll. I got the potatoes extra crispy. Everything tasted really good. My father ordered his all time personal favorite. The Niçoise salad and my mother ordered a soup and sandwich combo. We all enjoyed our food outdoors on a breezy and beautiful sunny day. The manager and staff members were super friendly and accommodating and Prices are reasonable. I wish we lived closer. I would visit more often. If you've never been to Champagne bakery, I recommend giving it a try.
