I was referred to Milt's by a shop in Concord that installed my aftermarket headlights. I emailed Adrian, the owner of Milt's on Sunday morning asking for an appt. for Monday morning, he replied that same day and booked the appointment. Now that's quick service! I received an synthetic oil change for my 2002 Jaguar X-Type and it was quick! They used Amsoil synthetic, which I heard is the best oil money can buy! They charged me around $100 which far less than the $179 pricetag of what I've paid at the Jaguar dealer for a synthetic oil change. They also performed a free courtesy vehicle check and noticed that my rear brakes were worn out and needed replacing asap.I was planning on driving down to LA that weekend and Adrian mentioned that it would become much worse and even more expensive if I didn't change my rear brakes soon. I decided to go ahead with the service and boy was it worth it! I could tell the difference right away! I could also notice the difference in my wallet, I paid far less than what the dealership quoted me. It is very rare to find a local shop that is honest and really understands its customer's busy lifestyles. Milt's stayed open about 30 minutes over their usual closing time just so they could finish the job and wait for me to get off of work! If I could give more stars I would! read more

I took my car here for a pre purchase inspection which originally seemed to be fine. They found a few small issues which I was happy to have to deal with, but nothing serious, so I bought the car. One week later my check engine light comes on. I take it in to my local mechanic who at first says its an o2 sensor, but needs to get the car up on the ramp to inspect further. I get a call a few hours later to be told that my catalytic converter is not stock! At first I think this is ridiculous, as I took it in for an inspection where they are *supposed* to notice this kind of thing, but when I go to the mechanic after work I can instantly see that this is not stock. I have pretty much ZERO mechanic knowledge, but it's so obvious it isn't stock, it's not even funny. The price for a new cat? $2,000+tax+labor. What the hell is the point in an inspection which is supposed to inspect these things and tell me about them, if they don't even see them!!! read more

Took my 2004 BMW in for an oil change now that its out of warranty. I got a good recommendation from a fellow racer and another BMW enthusiest. Milts booked me in a moments notice and even though I was running just a tad late comming from work in SF they waited. They charged me only $40 for an oil change. I like to supply my own oil (Total/elf) and filter (Mahle). Service was quick and fast. The staff even had time to shoot the $hit and even show me some of their own project cars. Highly recommended. I brought my car in for a smog check and had a good experience, so I decided to bring in my truck for a diagnostic appointment after the dreaded "check engine" light came on. Adrian, the owner, was very courteous and got me set up on short notice. He gave me the work/cost rundown that you'd expect, but what I really appreciated was the no-frills, transparent manner in which he answered my questions as we went over the details. I've also dealt with Andros and found my experience to be the same. I don't like to be jerked around when it comes to dealing with potentially expensive maintenance or repairs, so it was refreshing to deal with professionals who were not only very knowledgeable and straightforward, but knew how to get the job done right the first time. I thought the pricing was reasonable, and I now use Milt's for all my maintenance (I occasionally get some of their promotional or service reminder emails.) On a side note, this also seems to be the place to go if you're a BMW owner or enthusiast. You'll probably see one or two modified Bimmers sporting the "mservicegarage' decal parked outside. There's also an auto-body repair shop conveniently located next door, but luckily I haven't had to use them as of yet :) Overall, it's obvious that this place is run by people who not only know what they're doing, but who share a common goal: to win you over as a loyal customer. I needed my timing belt replaced before heading out on a two hour trip to the valley. I called about three or four places around the area to get price quotes. I found this place...and I am glad that I did. Out of all of the places that I called, Milt's Service Garage was the most pleasant to deal with over the phone. I talked to Adrian, who was able to give me a quote in a matter of seconds. It was the lowest quote that was offered for the job so naturally I went with them in the end...and I do not regret it. Milt's Service Garage was THE most friendliest, customer-centered auto shop that I have ever been to. Adrian is very kind and inviting...and so were the other employees that I had the opportunity to meet. Adrian was able to shuttle me back to my apartment himself while the job was being completed. It did take a while for them to complete the repairs, but I am not complaining. I used their Facebook discount and pretty much got an oil change free of charge because they honored the discount. I called around a few places to get quotes for air conditioning servicing and a smog check. Milt's was mid-range for the air conditioning, and too expensive for me for a basic smog check. However, as others have mentioned, there is a discount for new customers (see caveat below), so I decided to try Milt's for the a/c (plus they have all these positive reviews) Worked with Adrian to create an order for the Air Conditioning recharge and decided spontaneously to get an oil change since my car was already there. Minutes after leaving the shop, I realized I had forgotten the new customer coupon so I called back. Adrian said I was already getting a special price (this was news to me) so the air conditioning and oil change did not qualify for new customer discount. But if any repairs were needed, then that would. For any other potential new customers, my suggestion to you: check first to see if what you want done qualifies for the coupon. I was a bit bummed to not get the new customer discount...... but thankfully, I did remember my coupon for Smog Pro, so after picking up my car from Milt's, drove directly there (only a few minutes away) and got my car smogged -- out the door in 15 minutes, and I saved $30! Anyways, overall, my experience with Milt's Service Garage was very pleasant. Both services completed within a few hours, and I look forward to my air conditioning! read more

I just moved to the area and didn't know where to take my Honda Civic Hybrid when it needed some work. I started looking at the local dealers but their ratings weren't very good. Then I noticed Milt's. I called and asked for prices and was surprised that they were very straightforward and already started suggesting ways to save. I made the appointment and took my car in. Extremely disappointed. Took my truck there for some repairs under warrantee. They created a whole bunch of new problems and said the problems were there when i brought it in. I am a certified technician that just wasn't authorized to do the warrantee work. These guys not only lied to me but even after they were caught they created more lies. A couple of weeks and about 500 miles later, all seems fine with the work done at Milts. Have a 2006 BMW 330 where the starter just died one day. Had car towed to Milts based in the good yelp reviews. They diagnosed, ordered new starter and replaced. Took a couple of days which was fine and expected. Can't say that they are cheap, but with the yelp check in discount it was reasonable. Often you get what you pay for and owning an older European car is not like owning a Toyota or Honda. read more

My Experience with Milts was exceptional. I'd been taking my car to dealerships to handle maintainace and for lack of better term had been getting raped with prices. I stop going and had been Looking for a local shop that wouldn't take advantage of my lack of knowledge and push services not needed. That was not my experience at Milts. I was treated with respect. As a female, having my car worked on is always such an anxiety riddled situation. I've been totally ripped off by garages. My experience at Milt's was anything but an anxious ripoff. They are friendly, take time to explain everything in detail and kept me informed every step of the way. I had my car towed there and when they found out that I had a certified pre-owned warranty and the problem was probably covered under that warranty, they called me and advised me how to take advantage of the CPO warranty. They were so helpful and informative. With the information they gave me, I was able to get the repairs covered through the dealer. After all the time and man hours they put into my car, they were more than generous with what they charged me. This is my first Yelp non-food related review - the service in just the preliminary stages was too good that it forced me to write one. Adrian (the owner, who worked as a top mechanic at a certified BMW dealership in Sac), greeted me at the door and took a quick look at my vehicle even though I know he was really busy. I actually called in earlier and he told me that the next day would work better, but I was in the area and he still took me in. Normally I would be worried about taking my car somewhere new, but his previous experience and the half dozen customers that came in and left with a smile (when does that ever happen with an autoshop?) put me at ease. BMW Dealership quoted me 400+ for a spark plug change (could be the coil though) but Adrian told me that it should be less. Regardless he assured me a thorough inspection. The same day itself he called me back and said the sparkplugs were fine and that it was just one of the coils that was misfiring (common on an 06 model). Said the price for the coil was $60 and labor was minimal - I am hoping total will be just around $200. He even made sure that I utilized the 15% off deal by checking in on Yelp. AND offered a shuttle service for me free of charge ... I really don't know of anyone that offers this level of service. Hard to find a mechanic that is trustworthy, takes his time to explain what is wrong, and who really knows about customer service. He is genuinely an awesome guy and I would not hesitate to take my vehicle here for any auto needs. read more

A couple months back my Husbands car shut down on Highway 29. We had to tow it to Milts. The next day Adrian calls and says his Mass Air Flow Sensor needed to be replaced, they then repaired it and we paid $382.20. Two weeks later we had issues with starting the car it would only start if you stepped on the gas peddle. Brought it back to Milts and of course the car started up fine for them. A week later same problem it was a Thursday when I called and they were unable to work on the car until the next week Wednesday. At that point I was very frustrated. We've had this problem off and on for a while now the car broke down and again we ended up towing it to another shop. I get a call and again the Mass Air Flow Sensor was malfunctioning. The shop replaced and fixed the problem. I called Adrian and explained what happened, brought him the defect part and he gladly refunded me the part + tax and told me the part I brought him he would send in but he didn't think that was the part they put in!?! Not sure ho being that we took it to 2 shops Milts and the other shop and when the other mechanic took that part off he handed it to my Husband. I guess I should be satisfied that I was able to receive a $216.70 refund but I'm really not because I'm still out $165.50 for labor on top of the part + labor I had to pay the other shop. Adrian has always been very nice & friendly over the phone and did good work on prior issues with our other cars but after this whole incident I will NOT be going back they basically lost me as a customer over $165.50 I guess my business wasn't worth it to them! read more

I took my BMW in and they charged 125 to inspect and when I left my car there they called me and said my car was junk and they said it's no use in fixing and they wanted me to salvage it out to them. After I had my car towed from them, even the tow truck guy said that all I need was a new fan clutch, which is what I expected. As always you are met with kind and courteous staff. They give honest estimates without any surprises. If they find things that need work, they will inform you and explain in a way that someone like myself who really doesn't know all that much about cars, can understand. I think the most important thing is that they are trustworthy. The last time I went to the dealership for a recall on my car they came up with a laundry list of things that "needed" to be done costing about $900. I chose not to get anything done at the dealership because usually they are full of shit. I brought my car to Milts and they said they none of the things needed to fixed now and also said that the non-essential lighting issue should be done only when I am doing essential light replacement due to the cost of just getting lights is over $100. This isn't the first time that they have put my interest above just making a buck. Because of this I only take my cars here, recommend to my friends and any of you to do the same. Oh, if they can't do the service you need they will recommend another trust worthy place that meets your needs. Case in point needing special run flat tires for the minivan and getting a recommendation to a shop in town where I also had great service. I highly recommend Milts. read more

As a woman, it's always daunting for me to bring my car to a repair shop but I had work done once before at milts, so I trusted them. I was told that I had blown head gasket and that I needed to replace my entire engine for $9000, This was the only path forward they offered me. I towed my car to The Shop in Benicia through AAA. The tow truck driver told me about his bad experiences with melts and also told me he could tell by driving my car that my head gasket was not blown. He also informed me that when he picked my car up that the owner of milts told him that I drove my car while it was overheating and it was my fault, that I had blown head gasket.Nathan, at The Shop in Benecia also doubted milts's diagnosis and told me he would give me an honest answer. As it turns out all I needed was a radiator, thermostat, and water pump, the total repair bill came to $1400. Obviously I will never, ever, take my car to MIIlts again, and I will warn everyone I know to stay away from their unscrupulous practices. I highly recommend The Shop in Benicia. read more
