Initially I was going to the German VW place down the street, but the owner passed away and I found this place on yelp with good reviews. So I go there with my VW bug and there's already a line first thing in the morning. To me thats a good sign, and some of the people there are regulars for years, a better sign. They were fast, efficient and looked at my issues with the car. To be honest, they couldve made some stuff up about what was wrong, but the initial issue itself was less than $50 and had them do an oil change while they were at it. Another satisfied customer. Took my Honda straight to Milt's from Avery Greene Honda Dealer after I received a quote for over $4,300 to R&R Clutch and Flywheel. Other quotes I got were actually less than Milt's, but I felt more comfortable talking to Adrian. I previously had Milt's maintain a BMW until we traded it in for a new car 4 yrs. ago. I haven't had a need to have major work done on a car until now, but I must say, they haven't changed on how well they treat their customers. My Daily car, 2004 Honda Accord drives like new after they R&R the clutch and flywheel. They also did the tranny oil change and fixed a burnt out O2 Sensor. Saved close to $2,000 too. My 2020 Mitsubishi started making a loud squealing noise on the commute home last week. I suspected it was the front left brake but couldn't determine precisely. I looked up service centers when I got home, and took my car down to Milt's first thing the next morning (Friday). Jaz greeted me, and said he could fit me in between other appointments. I explained the issue, and also asked him to do a 60,000 mile service on it. He was very clear with the estimate for the service, and told me that he would text me an estimate for the repairs when they determined what was wrong. Early in the afternoon, I received a detailed text with the updated cost. The details included everything the ASE qualified mechanic(s) found, and included a box for me to check approving of the repairs. Easy! Before the close of business, I drove my newly repaired and serviced vehicle home. Could not have been more pleased with the service, care and professionalism of Milt's Garage. I just called this place for an AC repair. The moron on the phone said he can't repair my ac because it might ruin his vacuum machine. When my ac ran out I filled it up the ac can. It then leaked which that's how I found out it was not working. How else do you find out if your ac is not working? So it seems that Einstein on the phone doesn't understand. Lazy ass shop. Don't recommend this place to anyone. They said they can't fix it. But I went somewhere else and it got fixed in 20 minutes. And just so the moron knows I didn't use a stop leak. I put Freon in my AC. read more

Came for a smog check- the first two times, they said my car wasn't ready and I'd need to drive a little more. Then 3rd time, they said my car was ready, but the smog technician left home early (sick), then my 4th time, they said the smog technician was out all week that week- asked me if I could come in at 10a. I couldn't leave my work and had to reschedule for the following week- 5th time they were able to perform a smog test on my car. Prior to that, I received a friendly reminder of my appointment via text message, and I asked them to be sure to let me know if the technician is out (so that way I do not have to leave work early) and they replied- "Currently is here but may leave early depending on workload. Call us before heading over." I mean, I made an appointment for 3:30p. Why do I need to call before heading over? Isn't it their responsibility to reach out to their customers? Each time I make an appointment at 3:30p, I have to leave nearly 30 minutes early to get to my appointment, I value my time at work- if the technician is not available/absent, they should have let me know in advance, so I can stay at work and finish my task. Anyway, they completed the smog check, and it was pretty quick. This is why I rated them 2 1/2 stars out of perfect 5 stars- although I will come back if needed. (I gave a review a few weeks ago- and my recent review still stands- 5 stars, but this experience with them wasn't the same as my 1st review). The people there were very nice and apologetic about being an inconvenience and do hope that on my next visit, they will do (MUCH) better, especially in communicating with their customers. read more

The first time I went here was my first time being to a shop because I usually have my dad work on my car but I needed to have my car fixed asap so I thought with the good reviews to go here. The guys aren't welcoming at all, they glanced at me like I didn't know what I was talking about and charge an arm and a leg for labor. That's besides the point so I paid them to fix it. They "fixed" my car and when I came to pick it up and took it home I noticed they left a huge piece out. I had to physically show them a photo of the piece they left out and they were just like "Oh it just gets busy sometimes." Seriously? That's not an excuse. They had the part just laying in the garage and I had to point it out to them. Not even a day after having my fixed car my power steering started to leak. Coincidence I think not! Second time I came here, which was a few months after the first visit, I just needed a diagnostics ran. I knew what the problem was but couldn't locate it. I took it down because the power steering was leaking. I told them to call me when they finished. They never called even though they said they left a message. Tried to charge me over $600 to change a hose and other problems that "might" be there. And on top of that when I took it home and took a look at it; i noticed it was leaking ALOT more. Practically pouring out now. Coincidence I don't know? I will never go back and don't recommend this place to anyone. Rude and sketchy. Update: They apologized for leaving the cover off. But they tried charging me $600. So I just had my dad fix it and I only had to buy the part which was around $50. read more

I love that they have accurately and promptly pinpointed my Volvo's problem. I have dealt with 3 of their advisors, Jazz, Keith, and Adrien who were all extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions with detail and without delay. I can only assume that their mechanics are highly experienced because I was completely relieved when I picked up my car and found that each of the several issues were expertly repaired to my satisfaction as promised. The icing on the cake was the several hundred dollars I saved by not completing these repairs at one of the Volvo dealerships. If I could, I would give these guys 10 STARS!!! They did a pre-purchase inspection for me since I'm out-of-town and saved me a lot of money on a preowned car. I am so grateful to Yelp for the reviews of this place. The cost of the PPI is vastly more affordable in Vallejo than where I live, and the services performed were super high quality. I worked mostly with Thomas and Adrian - they were both stellar at explaining the process, what they checked. They gave me both a verbal and written summary of the findings. They didn't check just for the obvious things. When you're buying a preowned, you want to make sure that you get an independent PPI because many of these cars come from auction and clean Carfax reports are not always accurate. I wished that these guys were in my town because that's where I would take my cars. Quality work at reasonable prices - this is a real gem in Vallejo. read more

4.5 stars, but I'll round it up to 5. Really responsive and paid great attention to my car. I have a BMW 535 diesel and the dealership quoted me $12k. Milt's was able to do all the repairs for half that amount. It took awhile, but it mainly to make sure that they had the car all fixed up for me. The half star deduction is because they forgot to reconnect a vacuum hose that required me to drive back to have them clear the check engine light. If I lived closer, it would not have been a big deal. I would definitely go back to them. read more

I sent a friend to them because I heard a lot of good things about them, for a brake and lamp inspection on his 88 honda civic Wagovan. Before they started the inspection, they did a walk around his car, and recommended a few things, that would potentially fail his inspection if he didn't get them replaced...WOW, usually shops do the inspection, charge you about$200 and tell you after they finish, why you didn't pass. This place is very honest and not trying to make a quick buck from you, because I think they are very considerate of people and how hard times are. Anyways, the items they suggested are easily replaceable, but very time consuming ( which would cost alot in labor costs at a shop, as was also suggested by them), so I told shivraj, that after he's replaced those parts, to go back to them, because it's very hard to find an honest mechanic shop these days. read more

The customer service is professional and friendly; they answer my questions and they called with updates as needed. There's no frills, just a shop office with a few places to sit if you need to wait for a few minutes. I went to them because I needed my car serviced in a hurry. My car decided the alternator needed to be replaced a couple days before I needed to be in LA. We recently moved to this area and I didn't have a reliable mechanic yet. Can't really say anything bad I mean they have a lot of really good reviews. My experience with them was probably different than most because of my situation I tried to take my Porsche there to get it worked on and the guy told me when I first went down there they could get it in this week and when I called down to have it towed down there he told me that their Porsche guy was on vacation and I said OK that's fine when will he be back then he got off the phone got back on the phone and said he didn't know when he was coming back and I thought what the heck so after a cpl times he said the guy was trying to take care of some kind of personal business and I said well is it going to be a month or two months, three months what is it? I would wait. he kindly referred me to another place but it would've meant towing my car Way out of town, I had already spent $250 to tow it where it was, then it was going to cost me another 250 to tow it down to them. I didn't want to tow it out of town so that was my experience I'm sure they're very good. Like I said my situation was not so normal. Just kind of odd they have one guy that does European cars and they don't even know where he's at or what he's doing or when he'll be back that's a little flighty. read more
