It took until 5:40 to be placed in a chair and then at 5:55 with my feet still soaking I asked how long would the pedicure take? They told me 45 min but I had to leave by 6:15-6:20 so I told them I'd have to go instead of getting my toes done. No one had set up. No one had spoken to me about the service. They put me in a chair and had my feet soaking when I said I needed to go. I promptly offered to pay for just the soak because I had a time constraint and had to go. It is now 6:05 and the service hasn't been started. Immediately the woman who owns the shop was rude and standoffish when I said I had to go, again I called about coming at 5 AND offered to pay for the soak. She just grunted and didn't respond then proceeded to loudly and obviously begin talking about me to her coworkers about my asking to leave (including pointing at me). Taking my feet out the soak I asked for a towel. She grabbed the used, dirty towel someone had just left on the next chair over then just threw it on the floor. DISGUSTING. I was happy to pay for the soak and come back the next day when I had time. Now I'll never be back. Dirty and rude. Highly recommend skipping out of coming here.

I asked a second time and explained that she was only 4 years old and could not hold it. Despite this, they still refused. I understand businesses may have restroom policies, but denying access to a clearly distressed toddler showed a lack of compassion and basic human decency. As someone who values kindness and community, I would not choose to patronize a business that treats parents and small children this way.

Located in Capital Heights, at my first appointment, it was kind of hard to spot. Be aware of the parking, as some of the spots are assigned. Upon walking in, use the door on the right to access the nail salon. Appointments are made online, and Tenecia prefers that appointments are made at the half hour only. No problems there. Nice selection of colors to choose from, and the place is clean. I noticed that Tenecia takes the time to clean the bowl in between clients, which I totally dig. Also, she uses new new tools, like emery boards, and buffers for each person. My first appointment was a gel mani (with designs of course) and a pedi. Let me tell you, it was one of thee best pedicures that I have EVER had. She is absolutely excellent at what she does. I loved the gel manicure as well, because she actually does a manicure; you know soaks the hands, trims the cuticles, massage, and the like. She totally takes her time. I was a walk in and was asked to sign in before she began my pedicure. Quoted $50 for a gel pedicure, there was minimal waiting and the young lady began working and had a pleasant demeanor. What was really bothersome was the standing water smell that is evident upon entry. Not sure if this is after a repair or a needed repair but it's very off putting. Silently I prayed my clothes wouldn't inherit the smell. I do have questions about how they sanitize their tools. Alcohol was generously used and items wiped prior to use but I guess gone are the days of using an autoclave sterilizer. Some places pretend like the tools were washed, bagged and sterilized and open in front of you. No bags were used here and they were grabbed from a drawer. Plenty of colors and the method the technician used were appropriate for my service. There wasn't a lot of activity in the nail shop but each person who entered was acknowledged and quizzed on how they could be helped. Not a terrible experience, but not a fan of a place that doesn't smell good. First impressions do matter. The odor will have to be remedied before I'd decide to receive services here again. Capable of card, cash, and pay by phone, and a few other payment apps. Of note, if using a credit card, there is a 1.5.% fee. I can appreciate that it is posted, but pay attention before receiving your service so that you can determine how you'd like to pay. The front desk and lack of punctuality with appointments is what is upsetting. An appointment before Christmas was not honored, in fact the technician was over 20 minutes late and nobody said anything, no acknowledgement that the technician was running behind or offer of water etc. I walked out. The woman who works and the desk chased me down and begged me to return. I had another commitment directly after so I said I would come back another day. That evening another person from the salon called me to apologize and offered a discount when I returned. The discount wasn't honored. Again during my last appointment the tech was late (15 minutes) and this was after an older gentlemen working the front desk called to ask me if I would be on time to appointment. Lastly, their prices are not posted and I feel they are quite expensive ($55 for an acrylic fill with gel polish). They charge an extra 4% if you use a credit card to pay.
