You can see how poorly she removed my polish.
    Ariel H.

Came here about a month ago to Kim and everything turned out beautiful! That is the only reason I am leaving two (more like 2.5) stars. I returned today and unfortunately Kim was not there. I was greeted by an older woman whom was very rough while filing my nails, but whatever. My problem was with the paint job. It was on my skin, also on the skin under my nail bed, and lumpy! I ended up asking her to just remove the polish. Highly disappointed. Not sure if I'll be returning. Paid $23 for half of a job.

I frequented this salon when I lived in Lake Arbor because of the conscience of being able to just walk there for a mani pedi. Once so moved further out, I stopped going and found that the other salons could not do what I wanted like Jenni...so now I have returned. She does the best compared to the others that I've gone too..(with one exception)

Came from Virginia and needed a full set. My nail tech was a sweet older lady but OMG .. ridiculous prices. I was charged $50 for this set because I requested a long length ..... this is not a long length and I don't feel I should have been charged 50. She couldn't get my coffin shape right either .... disappointing experience.

Loved Jenni! She did exactly what I wanted. I got a pedi & gel mani.

My first time here I was hesitant at first because of my horrible experiences elsewhere but they were very nice and did exactly what I asked them to. I loved Jenni. This is now my go to in the area.

Went on Saturday for a regular manicure and pedicure ($35) these are my nails Sunday. Chipped and full of bubbles. Massage for my pedicure was terrible. She pretty much just oiled my legs and feet. Not sure who worked on me, an older, small lady but thats fine bc I won't be back.

I had a HORRIBLE experience. I let them know it was the first time I'd ever gotten a full set and they took full advantage. I was in and out in 30mins. Compared to how long my friends usually take I thought the time was perfect. Boy was I wrong. My nails were in pain but I thought it would go away, it didn't. The next day I showed my nail savvy friends their work and they pointed out the flaws in the nails. I didn't mind them not being perfect, but my nail pain continued to grow. After I sent a picture to the owner and asked for them to remove the nails and refund my money. They refused (strike 1) but obviously saw how crazy my nails looked and told me they could fix my nails free of charge. I allowed them to. Upon my arrival they told me they weren't going to remove the nails (strike 2) and that they could fix it. I told them as long as I'm not spending any money it will be fine. (Trying to give then another chance on a failed $50 full set) It turns out the issue was the shaping of the nails. Once she filed the sides I felt like a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders. My nail pain went from a level 6 to a 0 (out of 10). So I was in terrible pain because they took advantage of my ignorance of nails. I had to bring my friend with me to make sure they didn't mess it up like last time. When they finished fixing their mistakes they tried to charge me 50% off of the service (strike 3.) I informed her that I was not going to pay $75 for a full set ($50 original + $25 "fix") when I wanted a refund and they told me they would fix my nails free of charge. They began to yell at me and threaten me. I would not recommend anyone go to that salon. They don't know what they're doing and they have horrible customer service. Never again. I attached pictures of my nails so you can see how bad they were

The other tech said yes. The person working on me started to speak another language. After further inspection, all of my toes have the same bleed. Rather than redo them all I opted not to have them all done. Is it really so hard to polish toes and not file off your cuticle beds to correct the mistake?

I went back in because I wanted them done over from someone that was more experienced because clearly something about the technique was wrong. I paid 78 dollars and had to come back the next day, it was too expensive and too much of an inconvenience for them to just do one toe. I will not be coming back here. And then the person that redid it trapped dust or something underneath. He fixed it but it's unacceptable for how much we pay. Also I hit regular fell on my nails one time and the person didn't take all of the previous builder fell off before painting over it and that chipped in two days. Good pics on Yelp, poor communication and treatment/ hospitality…read more. I called to schedule an appointment to ensure they had time for me and they answered yes. I walked in, was rushed to pick a color instead of greeted. Said I could grab some water, which was nice. The mumbling in Viet started as soon as I sat down, could really make you feel out of place. (Just because someone doesn't know the language doesn't mean they don't hear the tone and can pick up on context.) Cut me twice, apologized, and a couple other hiccups that I won't bother to mention. She lightened up throughout time, but I may have to give it a second thought before going again.. I still tipped well because the actual nails came out good. (My total ~$96.00)Not to my like, as she was not easy to tell what I wanted done. Lady came in right to the end of my service with an appointment, and needed to get acetone removed from her hands that lady doing my nails had wrapped in foil and said, "excuse me- can you--" (I'm sure her hands were either hurting or were uncomfortable), and lady doing my nails interrupted her loudly in front of the whole salon, to say she's almost done with me. I felt terrible for her since she had an appointment on top of that. The fact that there's a lot of competitors for you (Nova nails) should push you to improve in timing and care with how you talk to clients and be careful about what you say you can and can not do for a service. I'm still looking for a place that is both well at communicating with clients, and has the skill set for an awesome set. Please remember to treat people kindly. How you make someone feel is really important.

It shouldn't be this hard to get, and keep my nails done…read more Most of the nail technicians in here are (artistically) talented, however it's SO HARD to make an appointment. I have shared my concerns with the owner and asked her to implement an online scheduling system. She expressed reservations due to the fact that customers may not know what they want, booking one service online and then coming in expecting another. It's a shame to have such a valuable and sought-after product, but simultaneously making it so difficult for customers to get their hands on that product. Booking an appointment has become somewhat of a guessing game. I give them a date and a time of my desired appointment. They tell me that my preferred nail tech is not available, but NEVER say UNTIL WHEN. So I throw out another date. Same thing: Not available. On and on it goes. Instead of providing me with options (namely, telling me the next available date for my preferred nail tech, or other nail techs who have availability at that same day and time), they repeat what they don't have available, or ask me to blindly pick another nail tech that I've never worked with (I don't even know their names because I've never worked with them, so how can I be expected to pick them?). So I'm expected to be both psychic and memorize the roster of the staff here... Just to get an appointment?! In order to book appointments I had to call multiple times over multiple days until someone was able to give me enough information to book an appointment, reach out to the owner on Instagram, and even drive all the way to the nail salon.... JUST TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I tried to make an appointment prior to the holidays before everything got booked up. Myself and another customer stood in line for at least 20 minutes in a practically empty nail salon while the owner's mother did someone's nails before she finally addressed us. Even then, she only handed us a register paper and told us to write down what services we wanted and when we wanted to come in, telling us that someone would call us to confirm (which never happened, by the way). We could have saved a lot of time if she had just asked us to do that and leave the paper on the counter while she finished her customer. After waiting 3 days, I finally called the salon and was told that they did not have my appointment request. Not surprising, given that it was scribbled on a piece of receipt paper that was given to me. Somebody probably threw away thinking that it was trash without following up. I tried to book my next two appointments to avoid this headache and was told that in order to book an appointment with my preferred nail tech, I now have to follow her on social media and DM her to try to book an appointment with her there. REALLY?! Instead of scraps of paper, or having to stalk somebody on Instagram, why not keep an old school appointment book, or even one online? It's really not that hard. These nail techs are also not great with time management. Many of my appointments have had to be rescheduled... For the middle of my work day. (Thank goodness for remote work) One of the (now former) nail techs completely forgot about my appointment and passed me off to somebody else without even acknowledging me or her oversight. Another nail tech pressured me into making an appointment earlier than I wanted, only for her to show up 45 minutes after the appointed time. No phone call, no update, no communication whatsoever. Just me sitting there wondering if this was another canceled appointment that they forgot to communicate to me. I say "another" because I had an appointment with the same technician that she canceled, but the salon did not leave me a message to let me know. The only way I found out is because I wanted to add something onto my existing appointment and when I called the salon, I was told that I no longer had an appointment because that person decided not to work that day. In addition to horrendous time management and the hoops you have to jump through to get an appointment, the nail retention is also poor... And ultimately that's why I chose to get my services done elsewhere. Like I said, artistically some of these nail techs do a good job, but in terms of actual quality of work... Not so much. I tried to make it work, because finding a new nail salon can be a pain. However, I started experiencing substantial lifting of my nails after practically every appointment. At one point, I even developed nail fungus under my acrylic, which one of the nail techs ignored completely and just covered with acrylic, and another who tried to tell me "That's not nail fungus, it's bacteria". Whatever it is, it's not supposed to be under my nails... And it wouldn't be if the work was done correctly. Aesthetically, this is one of the nicer looking nail salons in the area, but looks are deceiving. This salon presents a lot of challenges from a booking, customer service, and quality of work perspective.

Overall, I think that they did a pretty good job on the actual painting of my nails. As in, the paint with even without bubbles, etc. That said, The gel on my toes did not last. And two nails in my fill/full set. (Had them since March with no issues) started to lift at the base of the nail. This happened within a week and a half. My big toe polish chipped in about four days. This was before any type of yoga, working out, anything. I also have become very accustomed to the woman who typically does my pedicure is being very thorough with removing ingrown, excess skin, calluses, etc. I definitely found myself wanting more from the callous removal. However, when I most appreciated was the fact that I picked a color that didn't end up looking good on the nail, and my nail tech convinced me to get something better. I'm glad she did because I was super on the fence about it. Also, it's worth noting that this place was absolutely packed on Friday afternoon.

I held it together and didn't say anything because I assumed it was from her soaking my nails, but when she got to the hand she didn't soak, it still hurt and that's when I realized it wasn't the soak. it hurt me soooooooo bad. but I held it in because I just needed my nails done. Even today the next day, each and every one of my nails hurt. I'm scared I will get contact dermatitis. After now reading other reviews, I notice in the pictures, that same hand that did my nails. And it looks like she's been there for years, so honestly in my opinion, if I were the owner, I'd fire her and help/hire a new nail tech graduate. They'd probably do better, and yall would probably have less bad reviews. The owner Lillian was very nice and had a calming aura. And I wish the best for her! If I were her I'd look into new hires, because for a black business owner, I want better for her shop.... Back to the review: She shaped my nails so horribly. they were uneven, the French tip itself was terrible, I could've done a better job if I did them myself ( which I have before).she left polish on the sides of my nails, the acrylic also was all over my fingers, and as well as my cuticles. I literally went home and took out my nail file to shape them evenly and more precise. I don't know if it's because I do my own nails sometimes, but I'm very precise on the shape and details. which I feel like what I asked for was very simple. she kept asking me what color I want for my base or for the chrome powder. but I just feel like that's her job to do. I guess I can appreciate it because then I can have exactly what I ask for. but I feel like that's the whole point of the picture. I also had to take the nail file myself and shape one of my nails because she ignored the fact that it was very uneven. which honestly I don't mind, and it wasn't a big deal; but at the end of the day I feel like I shouldn't have to do that. they also allowed a customer to walk in 45 minutes past their closing time and asked for a pedicure. cool, but the other nail tech asked her if that was fine with her, and she said yes, and after that everything seemed rushed. I felt like she started rushing to finish my nails. i go through phases where I do my own nails, and sometimes I go through phases where I prefer to just pay for the convenience of someone else doing them because it obviously takes longer when I do them on myself. I don't know, it just gave that she was maybe new to doing nails, because they looked how I used to do them when I first started. I understand it's a business and they need their money, but for an almond shaped French tip being $100 when they looked worse than I would've done, I was disappointed. by the time I was done and ready to pay, I honestly just shut up and paid the money and left because i had already been there much longer than I expected and was ready to do. and I also knew the chances of me going back there are probably 0%.I may have another instance where I go with my friend to get her hair done and I need my nails done close by again, but I'll probably just go to the nail shop across the street. Overall, everybody was very nice, and I probably could have spoken up and they would've taken it well, but like I said I was ready to just leave. but everyone that I interacted with was very nice to ME. although I will say, there were two nail techs who were talking poorly about a customer who had just left loud enough for everyone to hear which I thought was terrible customer service. I work in hospitality, and its fine to have those conversations with coworkers in private, but very unprofessional to do it infront of other guests. I could sense that the nail techs aside from the lady who did mine had their familiar regulars, so they probably do much better work, and have better rapport. but as a first timer, I was disappointed. so im just taking the time to write this for the owner/manager to simply be reminded to be mindful of the environment, and potentially give my nail tech some more practice. do I recommend? not personally. like I said, the other nail techs may do a better job than what I received so I won't speak on the whole staff. but the bad mouthing a customer after she left infront of everyone should probably be discussed and avoided.
